We really enjoyed or dinner at Gaskins on Emma. First, it is nice to have another upscale restaurant in our community, and we welcome them! The ambiance is excellent for meeting with friends and having a conversation that can be heard. Dress is business casual, anything less and thnk you would feel underdressed. The tables are spaced to provide some privacy. Marble table tops and grey linens. Water service and friendly wait staff. We started with the appetizer bread service, which was small, but honestly the perfect amount as dinner portions are more than adequate. You do get what you pay for. I enjoyed the prime rib, while my husband had the filet. We both thought they were amazing cuts of meat full of flavor. It came with a baked potato or other sides could have been chosen. One critique I have is the baked potato was not quite cooked enough. Our friends enjoyed the strip and the Brick Chicken which looked amazingly tender and plated beautifully. The house salad was very fresh. My husbands favorite beet salad was available for upgrade and he thoroughly enjoyed it. They have an extensive wine menu with enough by the glass choices and many by the bottle. We were even given a sample to try of a couple we were not familiar with. I wish they would reconsider their wine pours as 4 oz is very small for a 2 hour experience. We were not rushed. If you are in a hurry I would let them know so you are not disappointed and the course servings. We were offered dessert which I wished I had room for. Next time, I will save room. Finally got the chance to go try this place out. I was so excited when I heard they were opening a place in Springdale. I've been a fan of Gaskins Cabin in Eureka Springs for many years. I was able to make a reservation right from Google which was super easy. You can also make one from their website. First I want to start with the décor. It is quite different from the Cabin. While the Cabin is much more rustic and quiet, the Emma location has a more upscale modern vibe, making it significantly louder. There were several times that we just stopped talking because we could barely hear each other. That was the only real downside to the evening. We arrived about 5 minutes early and were seated right away. Our server, Heather, was great. Very friendly and quickly took our drink order. My wife had the Lemon Drop which she said was really tasty, and I was happy to find my go-to Knob Creek on their shelf. They have a very nice selection of whiskeys. I was very pleased to find that my favorite from the cabin was available, the burgundy mushroom soup. I have tried to recreate it at home a few times and sadly, I just can't quite get it. We also started with a side salad and their bread service. My wife ordered the Arkansas Shrimp & Grits and said that it was very good. She expected a little more kick but overall the flavor was good. I ordered the 14oz Prime Rib medium rare with a loaded baked potato. It was a little closer to medium than medium rare but the flavor was excellent. It came with a delicious au jus and a horseradish cream sauce that tasted very fresh. I honestly didn't even taste my baked potato because I was so full. I am looking forward to finishing off the last of my prime rib and baked potato for lunch. We will definitely be going back. I can't wait to see if their ribeye is as good as the cabins. read more

It was all incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. The beet salad was *devine*, the Mac n Cheese the best I've ever had, I also tried the mushroom soup, corn salad side, brick chicken and smoked eggplant dish, I also had a taste of my friends steak . I love it when the Owners of a restaurant visits the table to ensure that you are enjoying the food. Last night was delightful! We had cocktails in the bar before being seated in the restaurant. We ordered the salmon entree and my friend was thrilled. He said the outside was crusty and the inside was perfect. We had the chicken croquettes and I loved them. A perfect appetizer. Another friend had a hand shaped hamburger that was just under two inches thick and perfectly cooked. We had heard the mushroom soup because we were told it was famous and it did not disappoint! The Desserts were off the chart fabulous! I am not a huge fan of chocolate but the chocolate bread pudding was AMAZING! It was like eating air! More of a soufflé texture. Lovely lunch, indeed! The restaurant offers a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Ordered an Aperol Spritz, which was a sweet sparking sip! My lunch entree was the Steak Frites. The hangar steak was luscious, juicy and fork tender. It was seasoned so nicely. The frites were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and perfectly salted. There was also a nice little salad on the plate. It was so delightful. The server, Heather was very polished and sweet. She included a little handwritten thank you card with the check. So excited to see elevated dining in downtown Springdale! The lounge area is quite small, not suited for large parties. Reservations is a must because they have limited seating, especially if you have a party larger than 4 people. My fiancé and I enjoyed our meal. The oysters tasted fresh and salty. The fried calamari was delicious. I've been craving bone marrow and I was surprised to see it on the menu! I tried their signature prime rib. It was 14oz and plenty big that I could have shared it. A group of six of us had dinner at Gaskins, recently. We were seated right away so we did not go to the bar. We sat near the door. It was a cold night and we were hit with a cold breeze every time the door opened. We ordered specialty drinks which were fantastic. I ordered the prime rib with a potato and the mushroom soup. The soup was fantastic! The baked potato was delicious. But the prime rib was not hot enough and lacked flavor even with the au jus. My wife had a flank steak dish. It was not hot enough either. Others had the rib eye and pasta dish. Overall sentiment was "it was okay!" The acoustics are terrible. When the restaurant filled up it was hard to hear the person across the table from me. We'll try it again because we want to support restaurants on Emma. read more

Gaskins is a great addition to downtown! The rotating menu makes it a new experience every visit for a dining in experience or if you just want to sit at the bar! I love the charbroiled oysters and steak is great. Their rotating pasta dishes are also usually very good. So, my experience was not totally what I expected. First, it was my husband's and my anniversary. Mind you, we were the first ones in the restaurant. There was no one else there when we arrived but a few people at the bar. Those few people at the bar ended up being a party of six very loud people that they sat right next to us. We were a party of two on our anniversary which they would have known if they bothered to ask if we were celebrating anything. I ended up getting the special which was a filet with wine pairing which was good. The filet was very tender. However, the dessert that came with it and the dessert my husband ordered were GOD AWFUL!!!! I got the creme brûlée which the chef clearly does not understand how to fire the top. The top was so hard and crunchy I could barely break through it. It was really bad and I've had many creme brûlées at many actual high end restaurants. This was nearly inedible. My husband's gingerbread cake he ordered was even worse, completely dry and tasted like it had been sitting in the corner of the kitchen all week. For a 300 dollar dinner, y'all need a new dessert chef because whoever you got isn't cutting it. Our meal also for some reason took longer than anyone else's meal around us. The time between our appetizer and our salads (which I can't imagine salad takes very long to make) was at least 25 to 30 mins and then our entrees came out two minutes after that while we were just starting to eat our salad. Not a big deal if this was Outback Steakhouse but again, it was a 300 dollar dinner. Get your shit together. We ended up being the last ones around us to receive our entrees (even though we were the first to order) and the last to leave even though we were the first to be seated at the restaurant which was very strange. Again, it wouldn't be a big deal if we didn't have a 3 month old with my mother who had to be put to bed on time. Overall, the experience was disappointing, the food was mediocre except for my filet, and the service was subpar. You want to charge fine dining prices you got to rise to the level of fine dining. Go to the preachers son instead. They are leaps and bounds ahead in service and food quality. We will not be returning to Gaskins again. read more

Food was overall really good. The mushroom soup was fantastic. The house salad was also good. I do not recommend the grilled oysters as you only get 4 and as a LA native, you should at least have 6 so that seems excessive at $18 and they were tiny. My filet was excellent with the herb butter and the loaded potato was also great. I would note though that I felt my filet was undercooked. Ordered medium and definitely was medium rare. It had great flavor and was tender so I could eat it. I'm not a send back person but good to know for future visits to maybe say medium plus as they tend to cook under. Same happened on the prime rib for cook but flavor good and we don't like to send back. Our cocktails were good as well. I would go back again and definitely want to try lunch. My biggest vice on this visit however was we were just brought the check at the end of the meal instead of being offered a dessert menu or after dinner drink. I planned to get one more drink at least but didn't have the opportunity and had to go elsewhere on Emma. I thought that a little presumptuous of our waiter but figured it was because we were one of the last 2 tables there and they wanted us to leave. It was overall good food and I would go back and try again, but I would hope the service would improve a bit. read more

Therefore, we ordered off the small plates menu because we got there around 430pm and couldn't order right away what we went there for (steak). Let's start with the "great!" The filet was excellent! The salad (1 side and 1 Caesar) were good portions. Could've used a bit more flavor on both. Also had a great waiter who had a nice personality. Onto the "could've been better." Nice ambience but some of the 2 top tables were a bit close. Would like a little distance from others when having dinner. The toughest part for us was one of our steaks wasn't quite as ordered. So we sent it back and asked for more cook time. The 2nd time it came back it wasn't quite there either. We politely asked for it to go back again. Pro tip for manager... do not pull out a phone flashlight to look at the color of the steak in from of the patron. 1. This implies your customer doesn't know what they are talking about or how they want their meal prepared and or is visually impaired. 2. This also draws attention from your other customers who are now wondering why everyone is looking at a dish with a flashlight. It doesn't matter what you as management believe about the preparedness of the steak. What matters is what the customer who is paying for the steak believes. It is in your best interest to not question that publicly but to rather just cook it to their desired outcome and have a repeat customer. Would've been nice to seen this done properly so that we could've had our meal together instead of in phases. All that said, this is a nice addition to downtown Springdale and we are hopeful when a few small kinks are worked out, to return. read more
