We have eaten here several times in the past and it has been really good, but tonight we went for seafood night and the crab legs were not good. The legs were soft and the meat inside was tiny and somewhat dry. We also had the coconut shrimp and it was pretty good, but the coating inside was a little mushy. We talked to the waiter about the poor quality of the crab legs, but he just encouraged us to order something different. No attempt was made to correct the situation. read more

Nice spot off the beaten path. I'd drive up here before down to the Bentonville area. We did get reservations, but only called an hour and a half before. I am sure we were fortunate with the timing, but there were empty tables, not a lot, but a few as we were seated. They have a sign that says reservations will not be seated before their scheduled time. This was accurate as our 7 pm started seating at 7 exactly. One call out is that even if you don't get seated before your designated time, if you want a choice of open table when seating begins, they give you status on selecting your table on when you arrived and checked in for your reservation. Odd, but not a issue. The menu is straight forward and they have a large board on the wall listing different types of starches and veggies. Potatoes are listed as a starch, don't they qualify for both? There was an unlisted special the evening we were there of 16oz ribeye. There are a few other options on the menu that will suffice for most diners. Food was very flavorful with the ribeye being perfectly seared and prepared as requested. Their double baked potatoes were also solid. Overall, not fancy, but for the area it is in, upscale. I would choose it again over the fancy places in Bentonville, Rogers, and Fayetteville. read more

Last night we had their special which happened to be fall off the bone pork ribs! So good! They had a delicious potato salad and coldslaw! There was so much we brought home leftovers for another whole meal! We also had the fried green beans with horsey sauce as an appetizer and cream brûlée as dessert! A gem of a find in an unlikely location. Don't let the outside deter you. Inside small white table cloth restaurant with a great view of the river. And the food is outstanding from starters through dessert. Steaks are a specialty but Wednesday night is Prime Rib. Service has always been terrific . One our go places when in the area. Fried green beans are delish. It has a view of big sugar creek and has a well deserved reputation as a foodie kinda place. Lunch will cost around 20 bucks so not cheap but a great place to enjoy lunch. A definite must when in the area. read more

Beautiful setting on the old mill pond at Havenhurst. The mill burned down in '62, but this small unimposing restaurant/tavern was built where the old mill stood. Marvelous fusion of classic French cuisine and Ozark home cooking. The fried green bean appetizer we had was unique and very good. Everyone in our party thought the chef did justice to their order. I had a rare sirloin steak and thought it very good. Most of the folks in our party got the special of the day, which was pork chops. They loved it. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. This charming hidden gem offers a wonderful and a lovely view of the Little Sugar Creek waterfall. The service was outstanding, the staff friendly, and the food was good. My husband had the Prime Rib and stated it was the best he has ever had. I was craving filet mignon, but it was not one of the two steak options being served on New Year's Eve. I opted for the sirloin and was a little disappointed that it lacked the tenderness I anticipated. We will return as we have heard others rave about their burgers, the charm of dining al fresco, and we also want to see what their tavern next door is like. read more

The food was good. The view of the river was beautiful. The service was OK because they were trying to rush us. My girlfriend ordered a dinner salad unfortunately she didn't get a bite of it. They asked her if they could take her plate and she hadn't touched the salad yet. They didn't offer to box it up for her to take home. They just took it away and charged us for it. We are from Houston and have quite a number of options. Was a little scared for a date night here. I've previously had the prime rib and liked it. We had the steak and Angel Hair pasta. 1st of all the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, with the perfect sear. It honestly rivaled a Steak 48 or Pappas, but the pasta was absolutely amazing. So nice to see a clean simple dish be the star. She had the Chicken Franco. The wine reduction and mushrooms were also awesome as were the Pommes Fritas. Each to their own, but two no so stuck up foodies loved this place. The staff was absolutely nice, quick, and friendly. Date night was a win! read more

This is the epitome of casual fine dining, RESERVATIONS REQUIRED as you will rarely find this small restaurant not booked solid. However, casual clothes welcome. Looks like a little nothing from the outside but the food is top notch. Wednesday is Prime Rib night, best I've ever had. View is beautiful. Came in for dinner on a Saturday night. Make sure you have a reservation. And don't get there early. Ordered fried green beans for appetizer. Very tasty!! Served with a horseradish dipping sauce. For dinner, I had the Strip steak. It was good, but I should of ordered it Medium....my bad! It was still good, just could of been GREAT. Tonight, We took a short 30 minute drive to find this establishment on the recommendation of a friend. It's an unassuming place that must be a well kept secret by the locals. The atmosphere is really all about the creek that the restaurant overlooks. Folks swimming and jumping into the creek via a rope was great entertainment. We ordered an appetizer of grilled shrimp and jalapeño polenta. Four very nice sized shrimp with fried polenta on a hearty marinara was quite good. I ordered the Chicken Franco and it was delicious. It was prepared with shallots, mushrooms, and artichoke. Brussels sprouts as the side were awesome. My husband ordered an 8oz sirloin and twice baked potato. When served, the steak really looked like a hearty filet. Ordered medium over a red wine reduction was perfectly prepared. We skipped dessert, but as a side note, my sangria was perfect for a hot summer evening. All of the above and a $50 bill and we were out. Make the drive. The chef is professionally trained and every dish attested to his skill. read more

Both the food and the service is outstanding. Casual atmosphere, but the Chef was trained at the Cordon Bleu. All the dishes are delicious. On Wednesdays they have prime rib but reserving this in advance is necessary. The fried green beans as an appetizer is an unexpected treat and the twice-baked potatoes are awesome. We were traveling up I49 in really bad weather and we were desperate for a place to wait out the storm. Since it was around 5:30 we decided to go ahead and have dinner. When I searched restaurants nearby, Haven 55 came up. We were surprised when we walked in that the tables were set with cloth table linens and nice glassware. The lady asked if we had a reservation which we did not, but she kindly sat us anyway. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer. They were just okay in my opinion. They were a little on the bland side and not much crab. I ordered the Franco chicken and husband got a burger. He LOVED his burger and said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had. The Franco chicken came with a choice of sides which was posted on a chalkboard. I chose angel hair pasta and squash. The wine sauce from the chicken was all over the pasta and I really did not care for it. It was a little on the sweet side and needed salt. The squash was a mixture of yellow and zucchini and was sautéed in butter. It was very tasty and the best part of my meal. The best part of our experience however was the incredible setting. Right on the elk river with the trees and the rain. The waitress was kind enough to seat us by a window. As the evening went on the place became more crowded and guests with reservations were frustrated that they didn't have a window seat. Not sure if you can specify a table with a view when making reservations but I would sure try if I ever went back. All in all, it was a rustic fine dining experience and we had a lovely experience. read more

We are always interested in trying new restaurants around Northwest Arkansas. Someone recently mentioned haven 55 so we decided to try it on a Friday night for dinner with friends. it's just over the state line in Pineville and located on a quiet lane where the restaurant is perched atop the little sugar river. As a few reviewers mention, don't let the drive down the lane to the restaurant throw you off. The building & atmosphere are relaxed and low-key (think Herman's in Fayetteville). The dining room has a great view of the river and we watched a continual line of kids enjoying the rope swing on the river for two hours while we dined. I don't care how fancy the dining rooms are as long as the food shines. Elaine was our waitress and she was great. We started with the fried green bean appetizer with horseradish dipping sauce - delicious. Our table of four tried the New York strip, the shrimp and the pork chop as entrées with the twice baked potato's, brussels sprouts and broccoli on the side. The food was very good. I rate four stars because my medium ordered steak came out medium well but the finish was great and the flavor was delicious. We had a perfectly portioned chocolate dessert and it was warm and gooey and delicious and we ate every bite. I will definitely make a trip back - the food was very good and the prices were reasonable. I do wish they would allow diners to BYOB with wine and charge a corking fee. read more

This place is a gem! My wife and I had a great dinner here. The restaurant basically hangs over the river with white water roaring by, or at least it was running good when were there. It was dark, but could still see river. Very cool! The food was great, as was the service! I had the steak and it great. My wife had a chicken entre and she really enjoyed that also. I highly recommend Haven 55.... it's well worth a short drive from anywhere in Northwest AR. read more
