Stay away. They cancel their service on day of the move . If I could give negative ratings. Read details below. I'm still in shock about my experience with this company today. I've scheduled the move to be available for July 27th , 2019 at 3:30 pm for 2 movers. On the day of the move, no one came at 3:30 pm nor did anyone called to inform me that they were late. Around 4 pm I received a called from this company to inform me that the movers are running behind and they will not be available until 8 pm. At 4:30 pm I received another call to inform me that there are 3 movers available at 6:30 pm, I ask if I could get the same rate considering the extremely late time and that I originally requested for 2 movers. The representative (female) on the phone stated she will check, an hour later I ended up calling instead because no one called me back. This time a representative (male) picked up, this person told me the 3 movers are already booked with someone else, I will have to wait until 8 pm. I told him I'm very frustrated with the company and the costumer service, the representative told me if I'm not happy with their company than he can cancel the service. I told him My parents will be moving in tonight, therefore I can't cancel the service. He continues to raised his voice stating that he's just a dispatcher and that I shouldn't be complaining to him. I ask him if that's the case I would like to talk to his manager, he stated he is the manager. Then he insisted on canceling the service and hung up on me. It's just not ethical to do this to someone. I ended called another company and was able to move to the apartment on the same day. I just can't believe this company is still in business. read more

The movers and their service were wonderful however that was only once they got there. Which happened to be 25 minutes later than the time they gave me. Company as a whole needs to work on their customer service but with the rate I got ($65 per hour) I am satisfied. read more

Very frustrating from start to finish. They were an hour late which messed up the elevator times. So I ended up having to move everything I could down on my own. A buddy and myself probably could've done the whole move in 1.5 hours (I don't have a lot of stuff) and it took them 3. They forgot multiple items outside of the truck at the apartment I was moving out of. They are the cheapest for a reason, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. P.S. I despise people who leave yelp reviews, so that should tell you how frustrated I was to create an account and make this message read more

Ordered 2 movers and they were an hour late. One guy sat out at the truck while the other brought items down one by one.....very slowly. Not very efficient and took forever. read more

I was in contact with Vanessa regarding a move. I inquired about the terrible review they had received very recently and that did not go well. Lol. I received a nasty email from Vanessa explaining that my move had been deleted since she called and a man had hung up on her. And how the review didn't go into what really had happened. Yikes! The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can't give zero. This company is a complete disaster. I hope others are able to read this review before getting stuck with them. Unfortunately, I went through Yelp and hired Lakeview movers. AMC is who showed up- out of my control. Lakeview movers said they contracted them? So don't choose them either. AMC sent two men who could barely communicate with me, and took their sweet time moving my tiny 1 bedroom apartment in order to milk the clock. (They say that after 20 min past the hour you have to pay the full hour. Convenient how they managed to puttz around until 21 minutes past the hour.) They dropped a box of glasses, (which they blamed on me), and I had to clean up all the broken glass. I let that slide because moving is stressful and I just wanted it over. However, when they were moving me in to my new apartment, they caused huge gauges in the new hardwood floor by dragging the couch across it. (They also tried to blame this on me.) My boyfriend confronted them and the older of the two offered "to give his entire salary of $50". Ummm? The younger kid looked on the verge of tears the entire time. Their email states that they will fill out a damage report on the spot, but these men were refusing to acknowledge the damage they caused. That afternoon, I emailed the woman named Vanessa who I thought I was working with. No response. Later, I called her. She was very nice and gave me the email address to send pictures of the damage too. I have since sent that email THREE times with no response. I have started calling them- the 773-313-7777 number, and the guy keeps say "uhh I'll call you back". Needless to say, he has never called me back. I am going on three weeks now of this worthless company avoiding me because of the damage they caused. Do NOT hire them if you can help it. I got stuck with them by total accident. read more

To begin, I'll say that my initial impressions of Lake View Moving and Storage were great. The manager was super friendly and accommodating and quick to answer with a quote for me. The rates were also fair which is hard to find in Chicago. I definitely felt as if I was given all details up front which again is hard to find in a moving company. As the couple weeks went on before my move, though, LVM&S called me several times with additional info that I needed to be aware of. A bit unorganized, but again, nice to know before versus after. The first day they came (to pick everything up) they were an hour late. I usually don't mind and am fine waiting, however I specifically scheduled my service as early as I did so that I could get everything cleaned up by the time I had to be out of the apartment (legally on my lease) and get to work. I made sure to take almost all of my belongings to storage during the week prior so that between me and my roomate, we only had two beds, two dressers, a couch and a book shelf to be moved. This ended up taking the movers five hours to pack up, drive back and unload. While I certainly could not have done that on my own, I absolutely could have done it all with a friend in less than three. When they were at my apartment they seemed to be taking their time and stalling to hang out in the alley. Again, usually wouldn't mind but after being charged by the hour it didn't feel great to pay for that. Our stuff was stored in their unit for two nights and then we had a 7 am appointment for unloading. I did not hear from a single person until 9:30 and they did not arrive until about 11:30 am. When I was given the sheet with the hours to confirm it said they had started at 7 am so I asked to speak with their manager because I was told at 9:30 that they had just started. The manager proceeded to scream at me and tell me I was lucky he wasn't going to charge me even more. I've never heard anyone talk to a customer the way he yelled on the phone. The movers were SO nice and very efficient so it was not their fault at all- just horrible and unorganized management. Overall, I would absolutely not work with them and recommend everyone looks at all of their options before trying LVMS. I am pretty chill when it comes to services and don't require a lot, however just appreciate being efficient and nice. read more

On Aug. 5, 2019, Lake View Moving and Storage helped us move several pieces of upholstered furniture (5), a heavy glass-topped dining table and numerous boxes out of a condo building and into storage. I believe it was the son of the moving company owner who expertly packed the glass top in quilted moving blankets to transport it safely. In addition, he's a very capable truck driver. We observed his ability to maneuver the vehicle when we followed the truck to the storage facility and loading area. There were 2 movers involved in the process which was orderly, timely and incredibly affordable compared to estimates I received from other movers. Lake View Moving gave no evidence of dragging out the move in order to run the time meter and charge us more. Frankly, we were worried about selecting them because of the review, but the Yelp review didn't match our experience. "Vanessa" who helped us with scheduling, cost estimate, etc., was kind and responsive on the phone and by email. We intend to use Lake View Moving again when it's time to move out of the storage unit. If the move-out is as good as this first leg of the process, then we will definitely post a 5-star review to Yelp. read more
