Smooth moving experience!…read more Initial contact: There's an easy to use online portal where you can input your inventory and details, sign your contract, etc. The team is also very communicative via text. All the communication is rapid, clear, and convenient. Price: on par with other professional moving companies in the area. Move experience: Seamless. The movers called to say they'd be a few minutes late because of truck issues, but they more than made up for that time by working quickly. They sent 5-6 people to help with our huge move (finally, a company that understands how to staff large moves!), were prepared to handle some very heavy and oddly shaped items, and were extremely proactive and patient with helping me figure out where to put some furniture in smaller spaces in my new house. Vibes: The movers treated our items with care, treated our home with respect, and were still incredibly fast with making the move. I mainly communicated with the manager of the crew, who knew his stuff, was professional, and was patient with my questions and concerns. Overall: great experience (as great as the misery of moving can be, and I've already hired them for a second time for another move!

They came out to do a review of our house to give us an accurate estimate. The driver reached out 2 days in advance to give us his time for arrival. From the moment the driver and team showed up at our door, they were professional, kind, and on top of every detail. We watched them take great care of our items, pack it better than we ever could have, and treat us with such respect. Upon delivery several states away, we received the exact same treatment! Communication was clear, the driver was on time, and our items were delivered in perfect condition. We will be recommending Boerman to anyone we know with a move in the future! They made our big move so much better and stress free!

Trevor and Melina worked together to finalize the quote, move date and specifics. My moving team (driver Nate and movers Jonathan, Daniel, Ray, Edgar and Conner) were so careful with my things. They went to great lengths to protect my former house as well as the one I was moving into - especially the newly refinished floors! Juan and his partner did the packing and unpacking. This was particularly helpful because they knew just where my things went. If you're planning a move, I highly recommend the Boerman team!

Which is evident by the way you've responded to other negative reviews. I am openly gay and clearly you're a homophobe. Thank you for letting the world know via your response. I'm sorry if me being gay made Frank and his coworker feel uncomfortable. They probably should have said so immediately and not have taken so much time to complete the job or offer to help move boxes around when they noticed there was still some time left. They both also lingered after to converse with me, both of them shook my hand and asked me to keep them in mind for future moves. Clearly, no one was flirting with anyone and no one felt uncomfortable. Joe, you just don't know how to act professionally. Update: After a rude message from their manager, Joe, implying the damage to the stuff they moved was possibly my fault, I have to lower their star rating. It's not as if I was requesting compensation for the damage, I just wanted to leave an honest review and still he felt the need to act combatively. When the first moving company I hired failed to confirm their services 48 hours before the move date I was forced to call around to find another company who could do the job on short notice. Well Move You 4 Less stepped up and they even showed up 30 minutes early. Which I appreciated because I wasn't forced to wait around. However, I can't honestly say that all of my belongings made it to my new place in one piece. Some items were damaged and because of that I cannot, in good conscience, leave them 5 stars. They were professional and worked quickly.

College Hunks came in at almost a quarter of the price. They are bonded and insured, which was a comfort. If I could give this company -1000 stars I would…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but my family's experience was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. We hired College Hunks (Naperville, IL) for a local move between two homes that were only about five minutes apart. Before the move, we answered detailed questions about the size of the homes, the number of rooms, and what needed to be moved. Based on that information, we were given an estimate of approximately 6 hours of work and an expected cost of around $2,000. The reality was very different. The move ended up taking approximately 13 hours--more than double the estimate--and our final bill was nearly $4,000. We were told the extra time was due to a two-story walk-up and a blocked alley entrance, but these explanations do not justify such a massive difference from the estimate we were given. The men on the team also did not inform anyone that they were going on break and we have no idea when they started/stopped their break. To make matters worse, several items were damaged during the move: * The back panel of a dresser was damaged. * The center support leg for that dresser was lost. * A small piano was broken. We submitted a damage claim during the first week of May and have repeatedly attempted to follow up. Despite numerous calls, we have received no meaningful update or resolution. At this point, the lack of communication has been just as frustrating as the damage itself. I understand that estimates can change and that moving is difficult work. What I do not understand is how a move can take more than twice as long as estimated, result in damaged property, and then be followed by weeks of silence when a claim is submitted. All we have asked for is a fair resolution regarding the damages and a reasonable review of the charges. Instead, we have been left chasing answers. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to get every detail in writing, ask detailed questions about how charges are calculated, and carefully document the condition of all belongings before the move.

WOMEN: PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING -- SAFETY CONCERN…read more I am not a former customer of this company -- I am a resident who encountered one of their crews blocking my building's parking access. What happened next is why I'm warning other women in particular before you consider hiring them. On July 8, 2026, a Move For You crew parked their truck in a way that fully blocked vehicle access for two buildings, with zero advance notice to residents. When I politely asked a crew member to move it so I could get into my own lot, one employee -- a young man in a white shirt -- became visibly hostile. After finally moving the truck only enough to leave a narrow gap, he walked directly up to my moving vehicle as I drove through it, closing the space further, and aggressively pumped his chest and head toward my car -- the unmistakable body language of a man trying to intimidate a woman into backing down, or worse. I was driving home from a doctor's appointment with an elderly neighbor in the car, who witnessed this entire exchange. This was not a miscommunication. This was an adult man, employed by this company, choosing to physically intimidate a woman alone in her own parking lot because he was asked to move his own truck. I have photos of him and the vehicle, and I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau, and Chicago Police. If this is how their employees behave when mildly inconvenienced, think carefully before letting them into your home, your building, or anywhere near your family. Women in particular should know exactly what they may be dealing with before booking this company.
