    Chorizo breakfast burritos.
    Gena's Sierra Inn A.

This family owned Cafe is a hidden gem. The owners have just opened the doors and are putting in tons of effort to craft a perfect place to come and chill at Lake Nacamiento. We had breakfast burritos and loved them so much we bought sandwiches for lunch "to go". My wife had a coffee drink she thought was amazing and so she bought a second cup. Now she's been up all night! Lol. But it's because she thought Kat made such a good drink that she couldn't resist. I had an Americano with a chorizo breakfast burrito which normally I avoid due to so much grease but Taryn made these perfectly without the unnecessary grease. The flavors here are amazing, with fresh homemade salsa that is so good we asked to buy a bottle. (Not available yet but we hope will be coming soon). But all of that is nothing compared to the kindness, joy, and purely genuine love of the craft that you get as a vibe from owners Taryn and Kat. You can just tell how much they are loving their new business and how excited they are at being able to bring happiness to people who love their food. We heartily recommend Lake Life Cafe! But be warned, the vibe here is extremely addicting!

At first glance, the place looked great--clean, modern, and nicely decorated. The atmosphere felt welcoming for both younger and older guests. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, especially since we were the only ones there at the time. However, things started to go downhill when we looked at the menu. The prices were surprisingly high for this area--honestly more in line with what you'd expect in a bigger city like LA. It immediately set a higher expectation for the food. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich with garlic fries. The fries were crispy, but there was barely any actual garlic--just a faint hint of garlic oil. When I think of garlic fries, I expect to see and taste real garlic, not just a suggestion of it. The tri-tip sandwich was the biggest disappointment. It came with only two very thin slices of meat--more like deli cuts than a hearty tri-tip portion--along with arugula and a spread that didn't really complement the sandwich. The flavors just didn't come together. To make matters worse, the root beer was flat, and while the waitress was kind, drink refills were minimal--basically once when we sat down and once when we were finished. For $22 per sandwich, the value just isn't there. For what we spent as a group, we could have had a much better meal elsewhere--honestly even in places like Pebble Beach. I understand businesses have overhead, but pricing needs to match both the quality and the local customer base. The people who live and work here year-round are the ones who will sustain the business, especially during slower seasons. Unfortunately, based on this experience, it'll be a while before I return.

Ordered the Lindsay and the Italian to split between the two of us. Lindsay was good. Reminded me a little bit of some other sandwiches from slo although not quite the same however that one was tasty. Flavor was good and the balance was pretty good. Next comes the Italian. Well. I was sadly disappointed with this one. The amount of bread that was on it was a lot. Usually most places that make Italians with hoagies, will go ahead and remove some of the bread so that it has enough space for the meat and everything else. This one was probably 2/3 bread, the rest was the actual accoutrements. I was not a fan of the muffaletta. But that's on me because I'm not a muffaletta fan. Meats were good but the whole sandwich didn't mesh for me. Staff was really nice, the selections of cheese were awesome but that place was hot! Not sure what was going on with the AC that place was hot! It's worth a stop based off the quality meats, location and staff.

You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. The first sandwich that caught our eye was the Godfather, and Arian at the counter told us it was his favorite and recommended it. He did not let us down! The bread was fresh baked (still warm!) and the ingredients were great, including Italian meats, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and melted cheese. It comes with a generous about of condiments including yellow mustard so now that going in if mustard is not your thing (it is definitely MY thing). We asked about the soup of the day, which was chicken tortilla. The soup was piping hot and stayed hot the whole time we ate it and was so flavorful, full of fresh ingredients, and not greasy or heavy. A nice portion of tortilla chips came with and were a great addition. My wife and I shared both of these on a quick Saturday visit to Cambria and could not believe we have been missing out for so many years on this beautiful little deli and bakery. The patio area seating was nice and shaded for us to enjoy our meal. The service was so friendly and fast, we can't wait until our next day trip to Cambria to try more of their food. We were so impressed with our first visit!

It's so nice to see the same people each time you return, and they like seeing you too. They have a wide range of sandwiches, sides, salads, desserts, and smoothies. My favorites are the Hot Pastrami and the Turkey/Bacon/Avocado Club. Very consistently good each time I order. They are usually busy, so I may recommend calling ahead. Ample seating both inside out outdoors, and a great spot for groups. Give 'em a try!

They're always tourists there, who are very friendly! Sometimes we share a table with people and learn about where they're from and how they're touring California. We even give them a hint or two on what we like around town. There's nothing like local knowledge to help you out when you're traveling. We were sitting with a couple from England the other day who were touring the coast and we were able to give them a hint or two about what to see while they were here and also which tour to take at her castle! (The guest house tour is great, you get to see the real undisturbed castle interiors.) On our most recent visit, Sebastian's had wine tasting out on the patio. Patio seating is limited, because they reserve three tables for wine tasting!! We did discover a lot more seating had been added out in what used to be a horse corral, so we ambled on over there.
