I'm embarrassed and feel bad that my friends had to go through a bad experience. The receptionist has the worst attitude. And I'm sure others can agree because as you wait there, you can see how she greets other people walking in. The receptionist said KIDS polish change was $18.... (Even tho On the website it says $16). It's not even a manicure, there was no cutting of nails or filing and literally just one polish. The nail tech priced it at $15... but that just made it seem so shady. Everyone pricing it differently but I still can't understand how a kids Polish change is that much. The whole total time of the service was 7-8 minutes. Service was the worst here. Y'all save the trouble and go to the nearby salons.

I bought a Groupon for a Balayage at Top Shop. It was my first experience with this salon. I called to make the appointment and spoke with Leah who set me up for an appointment with Olivia for the following week. The salon is in a strip mall area and there is plenty of parking. It is next to a school and I happened to be there right when school was getting out, so traffic was heavy. I was welcomed into the busy salon by the receptionist and the Olivia promptly welcomed me back to her chair. Olivia is very personable and we had a nice chat during my time there. We initially discussed what I was looking for, and I showed her my pinterest board so she and I could make sure we were on a similar page. Then she went to mix up the magic (lightener)! I had natural roots grown in (about a 5/6A) and the rest of my hair was a dark golden blonde (8/9G). I was expecting to be in the chair for ever, but I was not left to sit for ages. From start (walked in) to finish (walked out) was there for maybe 2hr 15min. Olivia really delivered for me!!! She used the ashiest toner they had and dried a piece after the first toner to see if I was happy enough with the level of ash-which I really was. I was and am ever so grateful for what she was able to accomplish with my hair! I will definitely be back to her for sure! The final effect was a lovely color melt look toward my root area and great ashy blonde dimension from the Balayage in the length. I am so grateful!! The first time, this woman was NOT ATTENTIVE AT ALL. As she was working with my layers and bangs/combing through them she yanked hard and pulled out my helix piercing CLEAN THROUGH AND I WAS BLEEDING. It was more of the fact that she told me "you should've told me you had earrings" which was just her trying to make me accountable for her not paying attention. There was a moment of silence and absolutely NO APOLOGY was given to me. The two workers in the salon were just silent and rummaging through what to do because she gave me back my earring with my blood on it and for those who have cartilage piercings, they are expensive and take a long time to heal. She ripped it through my DAMN EAR that's how hard she combed through it. I am young and have social anxiety so I was trying so hard to be understanding in the moment but she finished up and the lady at the front desk gave me a tiny bag to put my earring in. But there was ultimately no apology...just the hair stylist saying she's usually so attentive with her customer's earrings (which counters when she said it should've been my responsibility to tell HER that I had them..well if she was so attentive she should've seen them)... When I paid I think I should've gotten a discount because...I left the salon bleeding...AND THEN THE FRONT DESK LADY had the audacity to ask FOR A TIP...I did my best to see past it and knew the haircut was decent so I still left one. Yet I left with no apology and the hair stylist not offering to pay for the earring to be put back in when she knew I was gonna go to a piercing salon nearby to see what the damage was. It was just so frustrating trying to be calm when no one wanted to take accountability. The second time I came in, I wanted to give it a second chance because it was just a trim to me but when I was assigned the same stylist, I began having an anxiety attack and I was unsure if she remembered me but this time I pointed out that I had earrings and braced myself. This time my ears were safe but because I asked for face framing layers....THIS BOTCHED MY BANGS DISGUSTINGLY. She took out such a huge chunk and the bangs didn't even frame my face. It was just 2 BLOCKS NEXT TO MY FACE. Just two blocks sitting next to my face that when I finished I immediately contacted another hair salon to take me in and to fix it. The new stylist was so kind to me and he was much more attentive and straight up said "these are not face framing..I'll fix it for you because the past stylist took out so much. I'm gonna trim a new section so you can have face framing bangs but I will leave the longer pieces she cut out so they can grow and begin blending with the back" From the photos, you can see MY BLOOD on my fingers with the front desk sign in the background, the second photo is the very stylist holding up my hair while I tried to see the damage, and in the third photo was the second time I went and had my bangs ruined. To the dear stylist: If you were so attentive to earrings why did you flip it around and victim blame me by saying I should've told you? Almost every salon was closed or would charge me an arm and leg to come to the hotel. The situation was a nail biter until I called Salon West and found out that they were open! Although it is unnerving to go to a salon we had never used for the big day, we felt confident with the reviews online. I had fairly good expectations - but could not shake that shadow of doubt. We showed up for a trial - and was immediately put at ease. The salon has a very small, cozy and welcoming feel with big open windows, two stations for cutting, and a big red wall with the 2 additional sinks against it. I was happy with my trial, but after wearing it for the day I started noticing things that I wanted to change about it. Barbara was a joy, taking all of concerns, addressing them, and changing my updo style on the day of the wedding. My hair ended up looking more amazing than I had ever imagined! I absolutely loved it! In 6 hours, Barbra transformed the hair of 6 ladies. Each girl had a different style, and Barbra did such an amazing job executing our hair styles while maintaining our individual personalities! All of our hair lasted through the night. (We are in our mid-twenties and danced the night away with no worries!!) Barbra was so great and allowed us to basically take over the space for the day! We were doing our nails, munching on lunch, doing our make-up and hanging out. She was so easy to get along with - and was really fun to be around on the special day! Barbra, we'll never forget you!
