Brazilian chicken soup
Alex D.

It's the fast food of soup & salads! If you ever find yourself in the Embarcadero hungry and cold, do yourself a favor and come visit LADLE & LEAF. That is exactly what happened to me, and man was I thankful for finding this Gem. I ordered the Brazilian chicken soup, it was so good. Shredded chicken, yuka and other stuff chilling in a rich and creamy coconut broth. It was so good. It also comes with fresh sourdough bread. I would definitely come back and take a look at other items on the menu. Be aware parking is atrocious.

There was nothing on the board that said this was a TOMATO Based soup. GROSS I would have never ordered it. I feel taken advantage of

I went here today because its very close to the job and I'm busy. Don't follow the ingredients on the board - they aren't correct. I ordered (this is the board description): "GRILLED CHICKEN & RAINBOW CHARD: Grilled chicken, flageolet beans, rainbow chard, carrots & white wine with shredded Parmigiano Reggiano & croutons." Imagine my surprise when I got back to the office and found I had purchased a TOMATO BASED SOUP. I HATE TOMATO. Why did they not list that on the board since that's a MAIN ingredient? It even has TOMATO PIECES CUT UP TOO. YUCK!!!

Sometimes looking for a good breakfast in the Financial District that isn't overpriced can be a challenge, but this place has it all! The set up of the business is very nice, welcoming, and super clean! The people that work here are extremely pleasant, greeting you with a smile and friendly convo throughout the conversation. They do have meat free options and I highly recommend the Veggie Cheddar Burrito! It's delicious!

Customized salad for pickup

I usually order online while I am working so that I can quickly go pick it up. It is always ready on time, and quickly. I customized my own salad and it is very reasonably priced for the amount they give you. Their dressings are really good.

Tidy interior. Aligned with their motto. Well done.

The truth is I have never been into a Ladle & Leaf before. I liked the large choice of healthy food. Interior is also nice, fresh and clean. So I went for the Korean Chicken Salad out of curiosity. Luckily I came after the rush hour because my salad took a long time to be prepared. Obviously the man didn't knew which ingredients composed my salad and had to regularly check his notes. For the rest everything went fine. The salad was fresh and tasty, I had a Bai pomegranate infusion as drink. For a first time with Ladle & Leaf, I can say I was happy with the experience and will be returning if I'm in a mood for a salad or a soup.

I got a chipotle chicken half salad, and I am just appaled by the lengths this place goes to cheat its customers. This is my 3rd time getting a salad and my experience has always been the same. The half salad costs $10.92 (including tax) which I don't mind. What I do mind, however, is the servers here don't even fill up the serving spoons for all the ingredients. They put less than half of each spoonful. The tortilla chips in my salad are less than 4. And the servers drop part of the salad carelessly while transferring it to a box. You can see the quantity and the empty spaces in my salad box. It is okay if you charge almost $11 for your salad, but atleast be honest about the quantity and your service. Don't try to cut costs by giving less than the customer paid for. Very bad value for money, and I am not going here again

What a disappointment the oatmeal was. It was not hot nor was it steel cut. What a mushy mess. Avoid this option. Never tried their other items so not sure this place is a total loss

$10 for a small cup of soup that didn't taste as good as a can of campbells. How is this place in business?!??

Some sandwiches come with lots of meats and some are saucy and some get cheesy like some in SF. There are some famous and historical places to grab sandwiches in North Beach like Molinari and Freddie's. There is also a place on Columbus Avenue by Joe DiMaggio playground park on which has a French name and serves up some of San Francisco finest sandwiches and it's called" Le Sandwich ". On a Winter season stroll in the beginning of 2026 , I landed at Le Sandwich. This place has lots of sandwiches available made by Chef Elias. I decided to try their Primo ( means Prime in Italian) sandwich. I have to say this is one of the tastiest sandwiches I had in San Francisco. It had meats which were tender such as Genoa Salami, coppa, and ham. It's has melting provolone which made it cheesy like some in SF. They also have FikaLove which is baked goods available like chocolate croissants and cinnamon buns for Fika( Swedish for Coffee break). San Francisco is the place where you can get international foods without the" jet lag" by a park close by were as a kid I use play "tag"and the sandwiches are so big they stick out the " paper bag "and inside has of lots decor from international countries including the "USA flag". Grab a Chef Elias at Le Sandwich tasty sandwiches he will "make" get Fika desserts like some in SF that "flake" Fika in Swedish means when you "take "afternoon "coffee break "

Pizza on the weekend at midnight after watching sporting event after a few adult drinks at a bar, club ,and show count me in. I am always open to having local based pizzerias to enjoy a good pizza pie. Hearing about this place having three restaurants across San Francisco made it sound like a chainstore pizza joint like Pizza Butt( I mean Pizza Hut). I have tried this place before and it's local to San Francisco and I wanted to give it a whirl in person. On a Spring stroll down Lombard and Van Ness where the hotel and motel signs are over mile deep I wanted to try an American favorite which are pizza pies. Pizza pies have become more American than apple pies these days . I went inside Chico's and tried their pepperoni and sausage before Good Friday approaches. The pizza slice was kind of cheesy like some in SF and it had pepperoni and sausage but not too saucy . The dough was pretty doughy but flakey like some in SF. It reminded me of some old school style of San Francisco pizza which is good paired with a case of beer. Finding pizza after midnight in San Francisco is pretty "hard "the pizza at Chicos is pretty doughy and the cheese was a bit "charred "located at "Lombard" which is a street but starting on Van Ness resembles a "boulevard " Come to Lombard street in the Marina where people "dwell "among the over 30 different" hotel"and "motel" but Chicos is the place where you'll find in SF the cheesy pizza "smell"
