I popped in for lunch at the bar Saturday bc the local pizza by the slice place doesn't sell by the slice on weekends? Dumb. Anywhooo... I sat at the bar and asked the bartender what they recommend, he suggested the steak Taco so I got that and the barbacoa Taco. I really liked both tacos! They had lots of flavor and the meat portion was large enough that 2 was fine for me for lunch. I ordered the chips and salsa to go, excellent salsa, a little smokey and smooth. At $5 per Taco, it's a little pricey but the flavors were great and my meal came very quickly read more

Great lunch today with awesome server, Nia! She was so attentive to our needs and so professional in her service. So great to see restaurants hiring good talent to serve their guests! Mia recommended fajitas which were very good. Wings were excellent. Salsa and chips very fresh. Wonderful gem of restaurant! read more

This place is so amazing! Our big group of friends went here to celebrate our friend's engagement and friend's 21st birthday and we couldn't have asked for better!! Rebecca was our waitress and she was the absolute BEST! She called us her family and went above and beyond to give our table great service + highly recommend! read more

Not Tex Mex... but good! Crab taquitos were delish.. actually one of the best dishes I've ever had. The whole roasted corn was good.. Both chicken dishes we had were not that great. We made the mistake of ordering our toddler a bean burrito.. it was huge and full of whole black beans which she could not eat a $15.00 mistake on our part for not making ourself clear). Pricey but would go back just for the crab taquitos! read more

This place is so amazing I'm reviewing it 3 weeks after our vacation sadly ended ... and I'm still missing the shrimp tacos (what is that sauce?!), the nachos, and whatever you call the frozen drink margarita-with-Sangria thing that I never got enough of. But the best part is the SERVICE! We went twice and were treated wonderfully both times ... NIA was a sweet smiling delight and needs a raise! She is awesome. Remember the name: Nia! And we also had another wonderful server whose name I tragically have forgotten but he also deserves mad props. I remember this: he lives in Santa Rosa Beach and had like 7 nieces and nephews move in with him thanks to Covid. Wish I remembered his name, but I bet he remembers the tip we left. Somebody find him and leave more tips like that one ... and post his NAME! Great place at the beach, you'll love it, and we will be back SOON I hope! read more

Great happy hour menu. Food above average. Staff is attentive and personable. Great loud place to take the kids with food to please all.

I've been eating at La Cocina for years and have watched firsthand the improvements it has made! While it used to be Tex-Mex it has evolved into so much more! La Cocina now specials in Latin inspire fare. Yes, there are tacos, but if you are wanting "traditional" American-Mexican or what is served in Texas, this isn't it. It is BETTER!! Chef Eric does a wonderful job matching fresh meats, seafood and vegetables to give you flavors you haven't had before!! The salsa flight, ceviche, wings,l will all blow you away! So cast off your expectations, open your mind, and be ready for something new at La Cocina!! Oh - and don't miss the margaritas....especially during happy hour - just $5!! Can't find that anywhere else on 30A!! read more

30A is expensive but this place is crazy. Very average food. Awful, awful service with a big price tag. Paying for chips and salsa is nuts. My fajita was served on a cold plate and the shrimp were not fresh at all. Street tacos were ok. Go someplace else it's just not good. read more

We stopped in with my children and grandchildren. We were seated quickly; my ceviche was very well done, and all other entrees were well received. It was a very good experience. read more

The chips and salsa were incredible- flavorful, crispy, and absolutely delicious, but the rest of our experience here was disappointing. FYI- happy hour is from 3-5 and the menu is very limited during this time; you cannot order from the regular dinner menu until after, which we were unaware of until after asking our server because it's not clearly stated anywhere. They did still make a kid's menu item for our son which was appreciated. The service was slow even though it wasn't busy. We started with chips, salsa, and queso and it was at least another 15-20 minutes before she came back to take our order. Our server did refill our chips without us asking though, which was nice of her. My husband got the fish tacos, which were not worth the $16 price tag. They looked impressive because they were loaded with toppings, but there were maybe 2 oz of fish total between the two. He said it was bland and tasted like it was frozen fish. My quesadilla was a decent size and had a generous amount of chicken, but I also thought it was kind of bland. We only had 2 table settings for 4 people and were not given more. Overall, the food was mediocre for the price and we won't be returning. I'd consider coming back only to snack on some chips and salsa and to try some margaritas between meals. read more

Really good menu. Vegetarian options, which I always love, but the grass fed beef taco immediately caught my eye. Rare to see dining out. I'll choose meat options quicker if they are organic or grass fed, indicating the animal was likely treated humanely. :) Great margaritas too. We chose the Strawberry,Basil and the Pineapple. Queso, salsa and chips were basic but the entrees and street corn were delicious! The atmosphere was blah...large, open, loud room with no music. All in all the entrees were so good that nothing else mattered! read more

Seated a group of 10 and everyone was happy. The service was flawless and everyone enjoyed their selections. Best fish tacos i have had in this trip. Also really enjoyed the Gulf Snapper Crudos. Would definitely return read more

WOW. This was the best breakfast we've had on our trip. We ordered 4 items from the smaller menu and each dish was impressive. The lobster avocado toast was out of this world. I wasn't expecting there to be as much lobster meat on it as there was! Our server, Bo, was so friendly and took great care of us. We can't wait to return! read more

Not good. We ordered the salsa off the bat and it tasted like tomato paste. Yes kid friendly but not good. Ordered the spicy margarita and skinny margarita both of which tasted like they were made with Cuervo margarita mix and nothing else. Both of us ordered tacos and the tortillas were not great. Fish taco was overpowered by the pineapple salsa so didn't even taste the fish. read more

We have been coming to the 30a area for over ten years and this place has consistently been going down hill. WHAT Mexican restaurant charges for chips and salsa??? That is absolutely ridiculous. They seem to be trying a more upscale approach, but it's not working. The food is quite greasy and bland. It's very disappointing with the lack of restaurants in this area that the community has to settle for mediocre. read more

Great brunch, great lunch and dinner! Drinks are terrific. One of my favorite places to eat.

Very yummy. The guacamole is superb. The burrito is also really good! Great spot for a quick lunch or dinner.

Great dinner--glad we went because I almost didn't due to other lackluster reviews. Queso was perfectly fine even if not the best I've ever had. Extensive drink list. Tacos were great--I got veggie, steak, and chicken and all were delicious. Chicken had a bit of spice to it. Plenty of vegetarian options. Large dining room, quick seating, and friendly service. Would definitely return especially given the limited budget and family friendly options on 30A. read more

Waiter came to our table four times. One of those times I had to walk inside from the patio. Food is okay, drinks are good. I ordered the lobster shrimp quesadilla. It was the worst I ever had. The flavors did not mix well, especially with the spices. The pineapple is definitely what pulled it together. Nothing fresh about it besides that. My friend did not like his nachos either. We expected much better for an $80 meal. read more

Our server Roberto was excellent. The food was okay, pretty run of the mill, and it was quite expensive. The outside seating is a nice touch being that it's in a beach town. However, I was eaten alive by mosquitoes, and I could not have been the first to have been. They are desperately in need of citronella candles, or something to deter the little bastards from making the costumers utterly uncomfortable. 2016 #22 read more

This restaurant is what happens when you combine Chi Chi's and a middle school cafeteria. The "pulled chicken" had celery in it. All of the meals and sides were mediocre actually, but what really made the experience here was the filth all over the floor and children running wild. Just don't look down, don't expect clean food, don't expect that you can sit anywhere where there won't be a million kids, and don't expect Mexican cuisine. I've never given such a disappointing review or had such a disappointing experience. I felt bad for our driver who was very nice. Then when the bill came she put the folder in our chips. we still left a good tip, but we won't be back. read more

Aside from the convenience of the location I didn't think this place was very good. I liked the chips (thin and crispy) and salsa (hearty fire roasted flavor). The queso was very thin and runny. My tacos al carbon were ok, but the beef was diced into little cubes. My biggest complaint was the service. We arrived at around 1:00 on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant was crowded, and looked to be winding down from a busy Spring Break lunch crowd. Although there were some larger parties waiting to be seated they were able to seat us almost immediately. We were ready to order, and our drinks, chips, and queso were served promptly. We were hungry and thirsty so we went through chips and drinks rather quickly. We waited and waited for our waitress to refill. Then we waited and we waited and we waited for our lunch to finally arrive. read more

Easily the worst place on 30a. It was good at one time, now they cater to tourist and want to rip people off. I don't ever complain on here, but this place has declined to a standard of less than 0!! If you want frozen shrimp from China and over cooked stale Walmart strip steak, this is your place. We have come here for years, and they have decided food doesn't matter. So sad. read more

LaCo - Appetizers, all really good. - Latin American Near Me - Seacrest Beach, Florida

Got here just in time before the long wait. This restaurant is huge. Had really good service. Started with the standard chips and salsa. Salsa was okay, but could use more kick. Tried the guacamole. That was really good and super fresh. For dinner, we split the basic chicken tacos served with refried beans and dirty rice. They were massive and looked more like burritos. They were pretty tasty, and I was stuffed, because I'm a chip hog and ate way too much. I don't think they would have been as good if I hadn't had the guacamole to put on it. My gf said the margaritas were amazing, but I didn't get a drink here. Suffice it to say, I would come back if ever in a Mexican mood, read more

I've only gotten take out from here twice, never dined in (I'm sure I will eventually), but they have the best nachos I've ever had in my life. And the bartender who was there today seems super nice. I wish I knew his name so I could give him credit. But they're killing it over there. Highly recommend. read more

LaCo - Nachos minus jalapeño, added steak - Latin American Near Me - Seacrest Beach, Florida

Our family of 8 stopped here for dinner. One family member has food allergies and our waiter, Dawson, could not have been more accommodating. He got the manager, Brad Weaver, who came to our table and asked and answered a lot of questions about their food. He told us about their stringent guidelines the minute a staff member hears the word "allergy". The food proved to be delicious! Dawson was above-and-beyond attentive! The house margarita was amazing! We loved it so much we went back for a second meal during our vacation. Family friendly, great staff, and great food! read more

We just popped in to LaCo for a late lunch after the beach. We ordered the queso and the ceviche. The ceviche was hands-down the best we have ever had! The bartender Matt was so friendly and had lots of great tips for the area. We will DEF be back to LaCo on this trip and we will eat there again on our next visit to 30A. Well done, Chef Bartholomew! read more

This restaurant was just a quick walk from our Airbnb so we figured we'd try it out tonight. We were pleasantly surprised. Our waitress, Justine, overheard us talking about our daughter turning 2 tomorrow, and she surprised us at the end of our meal by going out of her way to buy her a cupcake (instead of the usual sopapillas they have on the menu since she's so little) and have it dressed up with whipped cream and fruit and sing her happy birthday. It was the sweetest gesture and truly made our night. As for our meals, I had the taco salad with shrimp and it was really delicious. My husband enjoyed his burrito as well and it was a very generous portion. The pina coladas (both kids and adult) were tasty. Prices were not as expensive as I would have expected....I'd definitely call it fairly reasonable. The host and hostess staff were also very friendly. We would definitely come back! read more

Overpriced for not that great of Mexican food. If you want good Mexican, go to Mi Casita. They are amazing

We had heard great reviews about La Cocina. The wait was about an hour for a Monday night, but we were able to walk around the shops while waiting for our time. The service was kind of slow at first but it got better. Our food was delicious and came out surprisingly quick. The only complaint was that it was really loud and kind of hard to hear our waiter. But, the social distancing rules were enforced really well. So, would definitely come again. read more

Very average. The decor & seating outside the restaurant is very inviting & makes you want to eat here! Inside the decor is limited. The service was good, no complaints there. But sadly, the food wasn't anything worth remembering. Too much salsa & chips! A giant pile of chips & two large bowls of salsa for two people. What a waste of food! I had a burrito & my husband had a quesadilla. Kinda bland. Been there, done that, won't be back. Btw, Mexican food is my favorite, so this was a disappointment. read more

We ate here twice. The first time was fantastic! Service was slow. The fish tacos were delicious. The queso and guacamole were good. But each thing is pretty pricey and the hubby ordered the tamale. Thought he was getting a tamale dinner. Nope. One tamale. That's it. No sides. Nothing else. One tamale for $14. Tacos same way. You get one and no sides. Second time we went the service was waaaaaaay slower and the food was not as good. But we still had a good time. We'd go back but we would just make sure we have the time to spend. read more

I was worried when I saw the front as I wondered if it was a tourist trap place wtih poor quality food. But I was dead wrong. Once I walked in, the place was modern and renovated, and the bathrooms were clean and smelled great and were renovated. The food though was AMAZING! I had the shrimp ceviche, and then the lobster taco and shrimp taco and fish taco. The taste was clean and fresh. You can tell the person in the kitchen knows what they are doing in terms of flavors that go together. My kids had the rice and beans and fish bites, which were also good. My friend had the really large taco salad bowl, and that was probably the least exciting dish, it was a typical American salad and had nothing exciting in terms of taste. I can't wait to go back to this place, as the service was also great. But I can't get the taste out of my head. My friend and I both commented that it was the beset ceviche we had both ever had. read more
