    Me having fun

Best bar ever bartenders (especially Cindy) were so nice and fun I will never go to any other bar

One of my favorite neighborhood bars in OTR. It's not pretentious but still has great quality. Solid heavy pours with reasonable prices. I love pretty much everything about The Lackman, it's the perfect size of a bar, the design is great. I do wish they brought back the pretzels. Service is top knotch, great bartenders especially Terry.

This girl below in the picture was serving 16 year old girls at the bar who she hugged. They were absolutely not of age. I almost called the police. Instead I just left. I use to come here many years ago and this place has gone wayyyy down hill. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Good little spot in OTR for an after show drink. We went and seen the high kings at Memo and the came here to grab a Guinness. Lovely dark atmosphere and service was knowledgeable with their drinks.

Casual location on Vine. Great to sit and watch a game and get caught up with friends and do a few pints.

Taylor RB was so sweet and quick with service, she was amazing :) drinks were so yummy and worth the money

    Always fun at Lackman!

Unique taps, tons of bourbon and whiskeys, fun atmosphere! Our group outing had a great time at Lackman Bar for a holiday visit. Service was stellar with quick refills on all drinks, and the menu has tons of unique concoctions. Check it out in OTR - it's near everything!

Had a great cocktail at Lackman about a year ago - the Elizabeth Weber. All the drinks were named after literary characters. Googling Elizabeth Weber -she was a South African author which could be the origin, but does anyone know differently?

Signature cocktails are no longer named for literary characters Boujee, Hipster Mojito, Summa Thyme, Bluegrass Burlesque, Get Smashed, Pineapple Express as of July 2019

The short rib with mashed potatoes was absolutely wonderful, and of course I had to add fries just for fun. My waiter was fabulous, attentive, and very informative about the menu. He made the experience even better and was happy to answer all of my questions. One of my favorite touches was the little sweet treat they bring at the end of the meal. That day, it was limoncello cotton candy, and I loved it! Metropole is a great spot whether you're staying at the 21c Museum Hotel or simply in the area and looking for a memorable meal. Definitely worth checking out!

We started with two glasses of the French rose- a well balanced wine that went with the dishes we ordered. We were torn between the focaccia with butter and oil, or the fancy focaccia. Sean suggested the fancy one. The focaccia was excellent, but it was covered with so much cheese (not stated in the description), that we could hardly taste the prosciutto jam. We would have much preferred to taste the fluffy bread with a good olive oil or butter and keep it pure. Our second starter was the spicy Ahi tuna toast. It arrived with a very unappetizing looking mixture of a tuna and black garlic mixture that did not look at all like we expected. And the pieces of brioche on which it was served was too thick. The taste was fantastic though. If this dish were tweaked to look better, we would order it again. For our mains we had the Wagyu ravioli, and the Salmon Au Poivre. Upon arrival at the table, the ravioli looked like it had too much sauce, but the sauce was so well-balanced and lighter than it appeared. It was SO delicious. The beef inside was tender and had great beefy flavor. You would think a pepper sauce with 5 kinds of pepper (Sean told us this) would be too strong for salmon, but oh no it was not! The salmon was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had crispy skin. Highly recommend. The bean puree underneath was tasty, but there was no discernable grilled artichoke in the frisee salad. There were two tiny piece of what tasted like canned artichokes. We have eaten at Metropole over the years with a few different chefs at the helm. Chef Cova is making a strong first impression with us. We will joyfully return to try more of his menu.

Despite having such a large group, drinks were out fast and there was plenty of seating. 2 things stick out here: Decor and the Drinks. Both were impeccably done. We had a LOT of drinks, but the jade river, el toro rojo, and pacific muse were our favorites. (If your happy hour ends before 6, it's not happy.) The main bar is moody and honestly makes it kind of feel like you're transported. I believe they open the front windows during nice weather but in the winter, you're snug and cozy and the hustle and bustle of Walnut St is miles away. There is counter seating and then the other side is a long line of a booth seat with bistro tables and extra stools. The courtyard in the back is its own vibe and another transport. You're outside! No, you're inside! Kind of like Arnold's patio. There's a bar back there too. No snacks here (all the bars should have some snacks, dammit!) but it's more of a stop on the way to the rest of your night. I came out in December for their Miracle pop-up in 2025…read more As someone who has gone to a ton of holiday cocktail bars and pop-ups over the last 10 years, Overlook Lodge's is probably the best I've ever been to. Be aware it will be FAST. Look at the order ahead of time if you're a picky eater/drinker. They run your appointment like clockwork, and you'll be in-and-out, gulping down cocktails, through the entire experience. Your two drinks are included (this year, anyway), and I'd honestly be surprised if you managed to have time for a third. Time zips by fast. That being said, because they do it this way, you essentially have constant service, there's "events" that happen at the end of your reservation time, (I don't want to spoil it, but cover your drink!), and then they kick you out. Service was friendly, though, and I saw the server make time to take group photos for all of the tables (including ours) with someone at the table's camera. (No bullshit "group photo" upsells here) It's kinda loud, though, and I wouldn't recommend this as a chill meet-up-and-socialize spot. (If you wanna talk, they have an addendum, Christmas-themed laid-back bar next door.) It's more of a "get blasted in the face by Christmas for an hour and then leave" experience. It's pretty loud, and talking can be a bit difficult over the music and constant interruptions (more drinks? Photos? Cute Christmas video montage?) But this works in its favor as it feels the most Christmas, over-the-top, and seasonal out of all the holiday bars I've ever been to. It also keeps it from feeling too crowded as reservations are required, so you for-sure have a seat and you don't have to stand forever in line to wait for drinks. I'd probably guesstimate that bar staff is making all of their seasonal drinks, constantly, and servers just pick one up to deliver. With the capacity in here, it would make sense. No idea what the bar is like the rest of the year; this is just a review for the Miracle pop-up which, again, is probably the best I've been to in the Midwest. Cincinnati, you're spoiled down here. (Sidenote, I was absolutely taken aback by their TV presentation on the wall. It's hard to describe, but it isn't just a projector showing a giant rectangle. It's specifically slotted into the holes in-between holiday decorations. Staff told me that had to hire special technicians to get it to show up that way and that's seriously a level of detail I am so amazed by.)

I will say this: if I lived in Cincinnati then I would definitely be coming here very often. It was…read morea super dope spot with an amazing vibe . First things first, if you're going to go you are probably just going to be doing street parking. Parking is not hard to find, especially if you're going to do that at a later hour is going to be free on the street so that part is no problem at all. You're going to come in and you're going to get greeted by security. Now he'll give you a choice: take the steps or take the elevator. If you are not a fan of steps, then don't do that because it's probably 5 stories down lol . I enjoy it so it's not a big deal for me but if you have an issue or you have heels, you may want to take the elevator because it's going to feel like you're going into the dungeon lol. When you finish taking the journey you're going to go ahead and navigate to the first part, which is going to be the large bar area. It looks like it's very old and rustic but it has a very nice bar feel and a very nice vibe to it. The bar is pretty sizable and there are tables around there so you can sit at the bar or sit at tables on either side. They have an ample amount of space so that isn't an issue at all . The bartender seemed to be super friendly even though that's not where I stayed. I went to the next room, which is going to have the location that you have all of the performances at. We were walking in and the performance was getting revved up. It was amazing and it was a super dope vibe. I loved it. Again if I lived here, I would definitely make this a spot on my regular rotation. Now in the performance area, you definitely have a bar there so you can actually get drinks no matter where you are. Don't expect food though. It's a nice spot to go for drinks on a night out, or a date night, or in a group setting where you don't mind music in the background . The hostess was able to seat everybody at the table and they came right away with the menus and the water and proceeded to navigate the drink situation. I had wine so that was pretty much where I was sitting during my time there but they had a couple different things that looked very intricate and very craftworthy . But what stole the show was the performance. Even though I know that that's not going to be the same performer every night, it gave a certain amount of energy that was amazing! I loved it from beginning to end and I'm kind of mad that I missed it a little bit but it was awesome. The performance was good and the crowd work was just as good. Overall this place is a 5-star situation for me. The only thing that I had a problem with was the fact that my phone signal was bad because, clearly, I was 4 stories in the earth lol. Really it was a really good time and if you like live music, tuck-away speakeasy cocktail vibes, or old-school stage performances with a live band, this is definitely going to be your bag!

Hubby and I ordered the following. The Ghost's Favorite & my request for "Something Sweet w Whiskey". Both beverages did what they were supposed to do. Very tasty, pleasing and a great sip. I didn't catch my bartender's name but he was very nice and a stellar mixologist. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a chill place to vibe w a beverage. Only downfall, it was 40° in there. We were freezing !! I'd still return, I'll just bring a coat next time. Lol

My drink came out 30 mins before the rest of my group and then some of the food even made it out because others had their drinks. I ordered lamb chops and wings my lamb chops came out but my wings never did. I asked about them 5 times and finally they came out as my group was ready to leave (2 hours later). I told the waitress I didn't want them anymore and I was excited to try the apple bourbon sauce. They ended up coming out I told the waitress I didn't want them anymore because I've waited so long and she took them back and said "well you should have told me before I went back there to ask about them. I was waiting in the back for them and told them to make them fresh for you" and then she took the wings back and didn't offer any compensation. I then went to the bar and asked this sweet lady named Q for a manager a manager came out faster than I expected and handled the situation with grace. As far as my waitress goes I understand the frustration with kitchen being slow but please don't take it out on me. I'm very understanding. Also they no longer have hookah.
