My PC broke down this morning. Took it to Joe at LabTop. Assumed I would drop it off and he'd take a week to fix it. Instead he started working on it as soon as I walked in, diagnosed the problem (video card) in under 15 minutes. Walked out about an hour later with my PC fixed (and a fan upgrade) at a reasonable price. LabTop reminds me of a small town shop where they actually care about the person walking in the door. And it wasn't just me. I've never been there before but I saw several people come in that clearly were repeat customers and they were taken care of very well from what I saw. So basically Joe has won me over. I'll be getting any PC repairs, advice or equipment from him from now on. I'm even writing this review, and I never write reviews. read more

My desktop PC croaked with the blue-screen of death. I took it to another dealer down the street first and they told me I'd need to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows but I have home photos that were not backed up that I didn't want to lose. I then went to this dealer on a friend's recommendation and they identified a trojan rootkit infection, removed it and saved me from a catastrophic loss of irreplaceable data. They only charged me for a half-hour of labor. I have subsequently returned and purchased a rebuilt netbook computer for my wife as they repair laptops too. My wife and I are both very happy with their work and recommend them for either of these situations. They definitely know their stuff. read more

I would highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone looking for stellar customer service, high-levels of product knowledge & ethical treatment. The owners of this store have always dealt with my business professionally, fairly, promptly... and with wicked senses of humour. It's a rare thing to find genuine, honest people who do business and treat their customers with respect... especially in the computer industry. There are far too many shops in the Greater Vancouver area who are underhanded and take advantage of those who have limited knowledge about the inner parts of a computer. I bought my first computer from Labtop in 1996. It's a P75 that still runs at a family member's house. That's stability. Being a computer enthusiast but not much of a hardware guy, knowing someone like Joe (owner, who you are almost guaranteed to meet when you visit) is a great thing. I can walk in, ask him what's a safe and stable gear combo and walk out with a machine that fits the bill. Or, I can go in and ask him what's the fastest thing going. I really enjoyed my experience at LabTop Computers! After my hard drive crashed on a Friday, Labtop saved my hide! On Saturday, they were able to retrieve my files (irreplaceable photos included) and set me up with a new hard drive for a great price. I volunteer some of my time for the local curling club and golf club preparing event programs, posters, scorecards etc. and if Joe at LabTop hadn't been able to recover all of my files, I would have a lot of document re-creating to do! I had to go back since they did such a good job for me last time. This time, I was in need of a new computer as my laptop finally gave up on me. Decided against a laptop this time since I had had so many problems. I got a small little tower computer, nice and fast! They even made it so that all my programs still worked and all my files were there. Since I thought I would have to download everything all over again, I was very happy!! The goods and the service have always been top notch, and the few times I had problems with faulty equipment, it was either fixed or instantly replaced, always free of charge.
