They were so efficient and went to 3 different storage units to get of our homes contents. When they got to the home I asked that they didn't use their shoes on the carpet and they said they were able to take shoes off going upstairs where the home has carpet. They had no problem accommodating my request. Everything was brought into my home in good shape. Nothing broken or missing. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. I moved a 1-BR apartment using two movers, and my own 17' rental truck. I was told when I made the appointment that 17' would be enough for what I had to move, and that it should take no more than 2-3 hours for the move, with a 15 min drive and stairs on both ends. As it turns out, the truck was barely large enough, and it took 6 hours. The movers said that was because my apartment was a long walk from the parking area, although it was only 3 apartments down. It seemed to take a long time for them to figure out how to arrange things in the truck, and at one point at least a dozen or so boxes came crashing down in the truck, including ones marked "very fragile." The movers were polite and helpful, and I appreciated being able to arrange something on fairly short notice for the 1st of the month. They did a good job padding and wrapping the furniture and there was no damage to that. (I haven't opened the fragile boxes yet, but they are clinking inside...) I would probably use them again because it is a convenient and fairly inexpensive way to keep from having to bother friends and relatives to move all the heavy stuff. But I would recommend booking early, asking for some of their more experienced movers, and expect the time given to be a low estimate. (You have to have the cash on hand to pay them, so that can be a problem if it ends up costing double.) *17 ft truck was good for 1 full size couch and stuffed chair, china cabinet, bed, two dressers and a cedar chest, three 1'x1'x6' shelving units, plus boxes of kitchen items and clothing (including 2 wardrobe boxes). No TV or dining room set. A larger truck might have made packing the truck go more quickly. read more

I was on the road off to Phoenix. I was worried about how well everything had been packed into the moving truck. After I arrived, I was relieved to find no damage on anything. What a relief. I recently used their service after reading great reviews on yelp, I was looking for an relatively inexpensive service to help move my apt without me having to deal with the labor of everything...and I have to say they were awesome. I felt they were efficient, friendly, and knew how to take care of the items I really wanted to secure. They wrapped those fragile things up, packed the truck nice and tight and worked hard. At the rates they charge, you don't have to break the bank and get some good service, definitely give them a call. Only bummer, they didn't have wardrobe boxes, but nonetheless, not a big deal. read more

Labor Force Movers were amazing. I contacted them early in the morning, and asked if they were able to help me move some heavy furniture in my home - specifically, a very solid, and heavy wood desk. I spoke with Junior, who stated they were currently on a job, but believed they'd be able to come by in the afternoon. Awesome! I was not expecting such a fast response, and had anticipated needing to wait a few days (with a large desk in the middle of my living room). When the job he was on took longer than expected, Junior was very communicative and updated me periodically via text so that I was never left wondering where they were or when they would come by. (Since they were able to squeeze me in the same day, I didn't mind at all that they were held up by their previously scheduled moves. They were already doing me a big favor!) Upon arrival, they were incredibly efficient, and got right to work. They came prepared with all the right tools to make the process easier. I had expected the job to take longer due to where I wanted the desk, but they got it done quickly, and with minimal disruption to my home. They showed the utmost care for my furniture, my home, and even my little dog that was trying to "help." Both movers were incredibly friendly, and polite. The price was reasonable, and I was very satisfied with their services. For anyone needing assistance with moving, or just rearranging their home, I highly recommend Junior and Labor Force Movers! I used this company to move from Little Italy to the beaches and was very pleased with their care and attentiveness to my belongings. Per Junior's recommendation, I decided to use 3 men and the truck. This was a great suggestion and definitely helped to speed up the process since i moved from an apartment complex where the elevator was the main source of transport up and down. All of my items arrived at the house and as far as I can tell from unpacking so far, nothing was broken. Would definitely recommend these guys if you're looking for good, honest movers. I'm always a little leary of Craig's List ads, but I tried them (the price is right for two guys by the hour) and they were great. Nice guys, efficient, careful and friendly (a bonus). This was my first time using movers and these guys were great! We have an extremely tight and odd shaped elevator and some larger furniture that I thought would have to go down the stairs but the guys figured out how to use the elevator so quickly and saved us a ton of time. It was at least 85 degrees out and they weren't phased by the heat and continued to push and work hard the entire time. Recently hired them to move from a 2-bedroom apartment to a house with two stops to pick up furniture somewhere else and drop off some furniture at a donation place. All that with a flat fuel charge quoted upfront. I booked 2 men and a 18-foot truck . The guys packed the truck really well and are fast and hard working. I under estimated the amount of my stuff and should have booked 3 (or 4) men with a 26-foot truck. I felt bad that the 2 guys had to work 9 hours. If I hired 3 men it would be faster. read more

I hired labor force movers to move my 3BR townhome - mostly furniture only. I provided a 17' truck for them. Junior was very responsive in setting up the time for the move. Junior, Robert, and Rick showed up 20 minutes early and immediately got to work. I was very happy with how things were wrapped and loaded in the truck. They were very efficient, professional, and notified me of any concerns they had. They took apart my two beds and put them back together at the new place. It only took them 4 hours to pack everything and unload it at the new place. VERY happy with the results. Their prices are very reasonable as well, couldn't be happier. read more

Junior and the guys have moved us a total of 5 times and we're scheduling our 6th with him today. We obviously move more than average people :-) But since the first time he moved us (we added a separate yelp review for that first move), we wouldn't consider using anyone else. You can't go wrong. They communicate easily. They have enough help so they can manage more than one move at the same time to make scheduling easier. And when the scheduling is tight for them, they are willing do what it takes to make it happen. Of course they understand how to keep your home and possessions safe, clean and damage-free. They have their own pads, straps, dollies and such. We usually just provide a rental truck and they do the rest. We've always packed ourselves, and they load, unload, disassemble/assemble. We've had Junior as the crew leader, Angel (Junior's son), and one other guy and all know how to keep the work moving. They and the crews are all friendly, courteous, and hard-working. I am writing this review a little late because I've been very busy unpacking and trying to fix the mess that these people left me to deal with. I gave them one star because I didn't have the choice of not giving them one at all!!!....We moved on the 6th of March to our brand new built home and made the biggest mistake of hiring these guys to help us with our move. Our house is not too big and we had almost no furniture but whatever we did have, they ruined!!! I wasn't there when these people arrived at the storage place where we had our furniture. Had I been there, I probably would've had them leave right away..First of all, these people don't put down anything in writing, and the reason why, I know this now, is because they don't want to be held liable for all the things they brake nor all the damage the may cause, etc.. That should have been our first warning flag...Unfortunately, my husband was there and, being the nice guy that he is, thought that everything was ok, I mean, we weren't being charged much...Well...When they arrived to my new home and backed up the truck, which was smaller than what we had arranged for but that, per Junior, wouldn't be necessary, they opened the door and I saw all my furniture stuffed in there, without blankets wrapping anything, things on top of others and jammed up against each other...it looked like they were driving 90mph on the freeway, through turns and bumps, stuff barely tied down... a disaster!!! I was upset from that point on and called my husband to get home right away to help me deal with this situation. When they started to download, they threw my stuff on the ground, not on grass but on the dirty sidewalk filled with construction debris from the other houses that are still being built on my block, scratching it and getting it dirty in this way ...To make a long story short, they dented my brand new walls, they dirtied them, they broke my treadmill, and scratched my furniture and my brand new front loader LG washer!!! I was livid!! My husband just wanted me to relax but I couldn't contain myself and I let them have it right then and there..The only thing they did try to do to fix all the damage that was caused by them and their clumsiness was not to charge us for one of the 4 hours that took them to move a 2 bedroom, living room, and dining room. I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against Junior and his so called "moving company", and I hope that you don't hire these lousy, careless, unprofessional people..The entire time they were moving my stuff, they were throwing boxes on the floor and their cell phones kept going off, with the most ridiculous ringtones I've ever heard, everything form babies crying to stupid songs and other annoying stuff. They wouldn't ignore these phone calls, they would answer them in the middle of it all, and the phone calls were not business...they were personal!!! They speak Spanish and I don't know if they knew I could understand, but the entire time my husband was gone to get the cash to pay them, they were talking about us, mainly me, and how they didn't care whether they were doing a good job or not, just to finish quick and get the h... out of my house. That right there, the fact that they will ONLY ACCEPT CASH, should be another red flag when trying to contract these people's services...I could stay here forever, writing about how bad of a job they did and how much I hope you don't contract them for your next move but I think I've already said enough...When we hired these people we wanted to save a little money but had no idea we would end up paying much more after fixing all the mess that the left for us to deal with..We had just had our entire house painted, over 3000 dollars down the drain, because of these guys!! I cannot believe how such a company could stay in business with the type of service they provide..I guess YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! I hope you find this review helpful. read more

since our first choice of movers weren't available, we decided to try these guys out. they were slow loading the truck and didn't pack a lot of our items with shrink wrap or use padding. this resulted in some of our items being damaged. as another reviewer mentioned, they were on their cell phones frequently which caused the move to be longer than it should have. walls were scratched and dented when they moved the bigger items in the house. though they were friendly, i'd save your money and go with another company. especially since there are other companies that cost just about the same as them. read more

We moved last weekend, and due to myself having surgery last year on my shoulder I did not think I could get all of our heavy stuff down the stairs of our horrible apartment. I found Labor Force on craigslist and was sold on their price. I was a little nervous to have other people move my stuff but the two guys who showed up were very professional and instantly put my mind at ease. We only asked for two hours of labor for our heavy furniture but after seeing that they were almost finished with the whole apartment (down 15 stairs and about a 25 yard walkway to the truck) I asked if they could stay an extra hour. They were happy to do so and pretty much finished our two bedroom apartment. Now the truck! These guys must have played a lot of Tetris because I have never seen a better use of space. I could have flipped the truck and I dont think anything would have moved. This was the best money I have ever spent and would recommend their services to anyone. Hired 3 guys for our transpacific move to load a 20 foot container. Junior is professional and responsive to calls/texts. They accommodated a last minute change in time. The guys were pros and so efficient! We had some heavy duty equipment which they hauled up the 4 foot- off the ground container with no problems. They brought all kinds of wrapping equipment, triaged everything, and packed the load down like pros. Such reasonable prices, would recommend! read more

Labor Force was great for moving my studio apartment, very professional, efficient and on time. The 18' truck was kind of funny to see mostly empty, but I didn't want to deal with renting my own truck, driving it and parking it myself in Hillcrest would have been a nightmare and my friends were working the weekday I moved. Labor Force even helped me move some random things out of my car and we finished the move in 3 hours exactly, even though there were stairs at both apartments. I used this company twice and both times were excellent. In May 2010 they moved me from my apartment downtown Sd into a storage unit and on 7/6/2013 they moved my stuff from my apartment in to a upack trailer for my long distance move. Everything was packed and wrapped securely. They ended up only using 12ft of space when I reserved 17ft and I had alot of stuff. NOT only is this company a huge money saver, they are professional and they worked fast. They had my furniture on the trailer and tightly secured in 3 hours. I moved from a third floors one bedroom apartment to a three floor condo. The stairs on both places were very narrow and steep. They were very careful with my furniture, and took apart anything that needed to be taken apart. They work from the minute they get to your place until they leave. They wrap everything with blankets and plastic too. Overall it was a very good job. I would hire them again. read more

This is the very first review I have ever posted. I read them when looking for services but have never posted one myself. After the superior service I received during my move I felt compelled to let everyone know how great Labor Force Movers were. Moving is a nightmare! I don't know anyone who likes to deal with the stress and anxiety that comes along with moving. I VERY recently moved from a 4 bedroom house with stairs into a 3 bedroom house with stairs. Let me start by saying that I contacted Labor Force at 8:00 PM. Saturday night after the company that I originally had lined up LCJ Movers (that's going to be a completely different review as soon as I am done here. I hope there is a negative stars option for them) failed to show up or return any of our calls (not even a courtesy call). We had our furniture on our front lawn waiting to be loaded into the truck. Hoping this would speed up the process. Junior was great from the start. I contacted him at 8:00 PM. and by 9:30 PM. (same day) he and another mover were at my front door ready to work. They were extremely fast and efficient..while still being very careful with all of our items. They disassembled and reassembled all our furniture correctly. I am a believer in things happen for a reason and even though I was livid at the time that LCJ Movers never showed up...I am 100% positive that they would not have been even a fraction as good as Labor Force!!! I have moved numerous times in the past couple of years and have used a different moving company ever time. I always found that they tried to drag since they are paid by the hour...I never found a company I really liked to use again or recommend. Not until now...I will be using them for any future moves (hopefully not for a VERY long time) and referring them to EVERYONE I know!!!! We had a FANTASTIC moving experience with Labor Force Movers (get owner "Junior" direct on cell phone 619-646-4922), who moved us twice in 2 months. Firstly, we were very impressed with their website & pictures showing them in action, which helped us decide they were legitimate. Junior helped us understand why 3 vs. 2 movers were optimal for us, (included moving my piano), and he closely approximated how long each move would take. For each move, each mover was extremely polite and professional and worked expediently with no dilly-dallying. They were COMPLETELY true to their word, that they DO NOT STOP UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE! Our first move took 5.5 hours (9am-3pm); they took zero breaks & they did not even stop to eat lunch! They were calm, quiet, and very careful with/respectful of our stuff, and none of our furniture or belongings got damaged in any way. They were careful drivers. Previous to finding them, I had spent many internet hours researching different movers and booked a licensed mover who would have cost us TRIPLE (and that's not even counting what I would have tipped them). Then I decided to check out Craigs List and found Labor Force Movers. I'm SO GLAD I did! Each mover was such a hard worker, and we were so completely satisfied with them, that we tipped each man 15% of our total move cost as they were well worth it, and those tips still put our total cost at less than half of the licensed mover I had originally booked! They even cost less than if I would have rented a truck & moving equipment myself and paid two laborers. Further, 2 moves with them cost less than 1 move would have with the licensed mover I canceled. If we ever have to move again, we will definitely, without reservation, once again use Labor Force Movers! read more
