This place is awsome! Just had my blood test done.Eric and receptionists was awsome! Good job! Thank you ! This is my 4th time going there!

Made an appointment on a Friday morning at 8:15 AM. I filled out all the paperwork online so that I could easily get my bloodwork done. Not going to lie, I arrived at 8:20 AM and there was NO ONE in the clinic at all. Checked in and was told to sit and wait... waited till 8:45 and FINALLY got called in and I asked them why they took so long and they said that they didn't know how to enter one of my test in??? Don't they do this everyday?! Anyways, I got my blood taken and it felt like they were squeezing my arm becuase they couldn't get enough blood. It hurt. More than usual. I guess I have to go here if I need bloodwork since its the closest to my house but it seriously is a nightmare. read more

This was supposed to be for a routine blood test. There were no convenient time slots available online, so I tried going as a walk in first thing at 7am. About a half a dozen other people had the same idea, and I can see why. There was only one person working the whole office, which included checking people in, making sure their paperwork was in order, and drawing the blood tests. She was working as fast and efficiently as she could, and was even pleasant despite being the only one there, so I'd give her 5 stars on that alone. This review is about what happened afterwards. I was supposed to receive my results via snail mail because my doctor said, "it costs less." Okay, so I'll be patient while wondering how such a manual process can be cheaper than online in the middle of tech savvy Silicon Valley. I got my blood sample done in an acceptable amount of time, and left for work. Days went by. Weeks went by. No snail mail from LabCorp. I finally called and spoke with someone in customer service who verified that my address was correct. She said a copy of my results would be sent asap. More days passed, then more weeks (had to go out of town), and I called again. Once again my address was verified, and again the rep said she'd send a copy. Later that same day, I discovered you can register for online test results, so I did that but still had to have someone manually send the results to my account. I open the .pdf file thinking, "finally, my test results!", and at the bottom it says, "Test not performed. Specimen could not be located." This meant someone lost it or did something wrong with it, and that I'd have to go back for another blood sample. Unfortunately my insurance has contracted with this lame outfit, so I have to use LabCorp for all of my tests unless I change insurance carriers. Perhaps another office will yield better results. read more

Called their number to check if they were open day after Christmas. Recorded message says they are open day after both holidays from 7:00am - 5:00pm. Tried to schedule online, but online says no availability. I decided to fast and just walk in on the 26th first thing in the morning 7:00am. It's now 7:48am and the place is still close. I don't understand, if this location has a different schedule than other lab corps, why wouldn't you update your message system to say otherwise? Or leave a message on your office door to inform your walk-in customers. Are you perhaps not informing your managers that there is no staff that wants to come in that early after the holiday? I just don't get it. For a patient service company, this is just not acceptable... This there a main lab corp no. to call and complain about this? Actually, if 0-star is possible, that is my actual rating for this facility. read more

Labcorp - Labcorp San Mateo main door. - Laboratory Testing Near Me - San Mateo, California

Nice clean, empty waiting room. I think I paid $9 for a whole battery of blood tests. At the Mills-Peninsula Health center they made me wait for 30-45 minutes and jacked me for $105 for the same test. read more

The staff are always so friendly and efficient, and don't harm you.. very gentle. They accept walk-in appointments and are open Saturdays too. It's generally clean and pretty convenient. They do a good job overall. The only negative I would say is that they don't pick up their phones when you try to call them. read more

This downtown location is extremely convenient and efficient and I am happy to be able to come here.

I went here for the works with the blood panel. I scheduled an online appointment for first thing in the morning. Not a problem parking, parked right in front of the building. The receptionist was very friendly and very quick. I would give her five stars. I'm giving three because of the technician who drew my blodd. Now, I will be the first to admit...me and needles? Definitely do not get along! I really had to physc myself into even doing this. The tech? No bedside manner at all, very curt, and she literally jabbed the needle into me. The whole process hurt and I could hardly wait for it to be over. My arm hurt for days afterwards and was bruised. I have great veins, so this is not an issue. Beware of the techs here read more

Long wait for no good reason! Checked in and there was no one there! I waited while staff coughed made tea walked around and sat ideal. Choose another location or lab drawing service! read more

Ordered tests online at requestatest.com, then came in and 15 minutes later walked away with everything being done and blood samples taken. Very fast and convenient. In terms of actual procedure I have nothing to complain either - fast and painless. read more

Today, needing a routine blood work , went on line for making an appointment, their calendar was full for the week. I decided to drive over to the RWC Labcorp only to find out that their closed. There's a sign on the door saying to go to the San Mateo location. Again looked to make another appointment but no luck anytime soon, it's about a 20 minute drive, so off I go. Even though the Palo Alto one is a little closer I chose SM because of good reviews. Parking was easy in this location as they have street spots and parking lots,I found a street spot just around the corner from the building. Inside the building the entrance is straight ahead and inside the room it was nice and clean with a few seats. They have a self check in machine which could be a problem if you never used it before.I think I got a spot before others as they where there before me but didn't use the machine yet,as they needed assistance using it. Only waited about ten minutes and was called up to see my insurance card. She asked me to pay $10 copay? I was told I might receive that back after they bill my carrier.I found Technician Kim very professional, friendly and most importantly easy on inserting the needle. This will be my go to place,as I need lab work 3-4 times a year, unless they reopen the RWC one. read more

These folks do a great job. They are well-organized, staff are very adept at drawing blood, and I was helped by one staff person named Samantha on my last visit, and she helped me feel relaxed and comfortable. Thanks! read more

I have been here several times. It depends on who you run into to receive good service. Nessa is very good, with listening, answering my questions, and drawing blood. Another male employee, whose name I do not recall, shaved head, used to be a paramedic is also good. I appreciated their attention to cleanliness with the blood draw procedure. read more

I have been going to this Labcorp for years and can honestly say that these people are great. Friendly and professional staff that are always smiling. God bless them. It may sound a little odd but I look forward to getting my blood drawn because I get to see these awesome people. read more

Was in and out for my appointment very fast. It was painless and the blood drawer was very friendly and professional. Great experience.

The man at the front desk was beyond friendly! My appointment was at 4:30, I got there about 10 min before. Only me and two other patients. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. The man was very helpful with answering my questions. read more

Love this place. A friendly environment. Front person was efficient, professional. They went over my financial responsibility with me before hand so there would be no surprises. The place is clean. Thumbs up! read more

better than the garbage quest that's fo sure. the prices here are reasonable. I wish they had a location in Foster City, right now quest got a monopoly there. The staff here were nice and on point. will definitely return. read more

i live very close to this location, so i go there most of the time when i needed lab work. i got some bad bruises the last two times i was there. the first time that happened to me totally freaked me out. then there was one other time, after the technician dismissed me, she came running out after me saying she needed one more vial of blood. that means she had to poke me again! sigh... that second poke was the one that led to the big bad bruise. there's one technician, who was at the front, she's very friendly. and i don't remember getting bruises from her in the past. but i think she might be more experienced/senior, so she's in charge of the paperwork and not the drawing... will i go again? yes, b/c it's just very close to where i live. i hope the next time i go i won't get painful pokes nor blue/green/purple bruises anymore... read more

The previous review is hysterical and could not be more accurate. It has got to be the worst Lab I have ever been to. Firstly, how about hiring a receptionist to do the admin. The phlebotomists are overextended doing the admin and the draws. They are rude and cranky. Do not bother making an appointment it means nothing. You will still sit and wait for 1 hour. Because of a Dr error we did not even get the blood drawn but I will not be taking our son back there when I get the order form. I will look for somewhere else to take him. read more

Awesome place! I had a ton of tests to do, and it didn't work out at the Burlingame location, so I thought I'd try here. I walked in right when they opened since I didn't see any early appointments. 1 person was already there. Another 2 people walked in a bit after me, but my check-in took quite a while due to the number of tests. Was already dreading the draw since I went to another place in San Mateo years before and suffered temporary nerve damage in my arm when the phlebotomist hit my nerve. Was told by the neurologist to never get blood drawn in that arm again. This place looks way nicer than the Burlingame location and the guy who helped me rocked it! Didn't flinch or complain at the number of tests, number of orders, number of receipts, barrage of stickers, and number of vials. No problem, in and out in a relative jiffy even with the huge number of tests. Hope the people working there the day I went will be there the next time I need blood drawn since they were so great! read more

The receptionist is wearing so much perfume that I can barely breathe. When did this become okay in medical offices?

So I love the folks who work at this Labcorp. They are very good at their jobs and we're great with my needle phobia hubby. However, I had to give the 3 star today because we arrived for our 9:15 & 9:30 appointments a bit early. The small waiting room was packed with patients No signs to wait outside in the large building entry with plenty of seating, and no one making sure not too many folks crowded in. Everyone had on masks, but there was no social distancing at all. Auto machines to register in with signs asking patients to clean the screens with the itty bitty packages of wipes on a table. I watched and only 1 person (other than me) actually cleaned the touch screen after they used it. Their reservation system was messed up so, despite our reservations, we had to wait a long time and walk-ins seemed to take priority. No closed doors on the blood draw rooms, so we heard everyone's stories. Even the paternity test guy and the sterile guy. We heard their full names as well. This lab is waaayyy to lax on the Covid protocols. They even had a cold/hot water drinking dispense machine. Guess they don't bother reading the county's mandates. Of all places, that's a little scary. It's December 8th and they still have a sign on the door that they will be closed for Thanksgiving. My or My!!! read more

The place is severely understaffed. Having to sit 1.5 hours in anxiety to get my blood drawn? No thanks.

Worst place ever don't bother making an appointment it means nothing. I made an appointment for 8:30 when I arrived 11 people waiting one person drawing blood.By 9:30 a second person was helping but had only taken care of 2 people. I asked if an appointment meant anything I was told to wait my turn some quick calculations and I figured out they would not get to me till 11 so I left. Place is dirty the nurses don't communicate at all horriable experience. I pay cash in advance for my blood tests and will not return to this dump. read more

Unbelievable bad customer service from Marina. Avoid this place at all costs! I literally had my paperwork thrown at me two times. Then she refused to contact my insurance provider as it is new and I don't yet have a card, just a group number and telephone number. read more

Horrible experience - Phlebotomist didn't have it together on forms - confused on what forms - and i had brought in a concise directive from my insurance company. The worst was the Blood pressure monitor - Their machine was wrong - which I told them - (I have a monitor at home and check mine regularly) - they told me it's a new machine and hasn't been calibrated yet...blah blah. then proceeded to write the numbers like they were accurate. Ridiculous. I had real fears that the lab technician didn't know what she was doing when taking my blood - if there are so many things at this lab out of protocol. read more

I've only been here twice, so it's possible my great experiences were unusual, but I will continue coming here until they disappoint in the future. I was used to going to Quest nearby. That was always a nightmare, from waiting time to phlebotomist skill level to rudeness of receptionist. Coming to Labcorp so far has been a dream. I make appointments but I'm not sure you need them. I came in 10 minutes prior to my appointment each time and there was no one in the waiting room, and I was seen immediately. The blood draw itself was also easy as can be. My veins can be difficult sometimes, and lesser phlebotomists sometimes have a hard time finding a good vein. Here, no problem at all. No unsuccessful jabs, no needing to take it from my hand with a butterfly needle, not even a little bit of pain. I was waiting for the little prick and I actually didn't even feel it the last time. The one bad thing is that this past time, my results took a long time to come through. The first time here, my results were with my doctor the very next day. This time, it was six days before the results came in. Hopefully that was a one-time thing and it will not take that long in the future. read more

I am always terrified of needles , but I drive all the way from SF to this Labcorp because they are so nice here ! Nessa is the best so sweet and accomodating , great to chat with and makes me feel calm :) read more

I came on a Saturday at 7:45 (they open at 8) and I was third in line. I was in and out by 8:13. Staff was nice and friendly. The lab technician was very sweet and tried to keep my mind off of the needle since he could tell I was a bit nervous. My only complaint is that the blood drawing was a slightly uncomfortable during the whole process. Usually when I go to Quest once the needle is in I don't feel anything, but I was also more nervous than usual so maybe that had something to do with it. read more

I was there today @ 11:45Am and was out in 5 minutes WITHOUT APPOINTMENT! No kidding. They had no other patients for blood work and Josh (if I remember his name correctly) called me once I wrote down my name on the registration sheet. He did great job, fast and gentle. I did not feel anything at all. Hope my results will be ready quickly, but I highly recommend this locaiton. UPDATE: I got my results via email next morning @9am. read more

Went in to bring a relative for a blood test. This relative has collapsible veins and is very apprehensive about blood tests for that very reason. More often than not it turns out to be at best a very unpleasant experience for said relative. Well Vanessa the wonderful lady who drew the blood at Lab Corp. changed all this - she knew exactly what needle to use and made the experience as simple and pleasant as buying flowers. In my opinion Vanessa rocks! read more

I had been going to Quest Diagnostics down the street for years and I dreaded every trip. That place is so slow and disorganized it's pathetic. This last go-around I told my physician that I refused to go to Quest. He recommended LabCorp and I couldn't have been more pleased. They took me right away, did a great job with the blood draw, gave great instructions for some other tests and sent me in my way. It took me literally 5 minutes for what at Quest would have been a painful hour plus of frustration. read more

Clean facility, I went there today. Been coming for the last decade, though just once a year for my blood work for annual doc checkup. Today was the best - I didn't feel anything when they put the needle in. I try to get in by 7am so I can leave in 15 minutes and that's how it worked out this morning. read more

I will drive to another state instead of visiting this lab again. I went there with my 8 year old son. We both needed to have blood drawn. After signing in and waiting 1 hour, my son was called first. Then we were told that they would not process the kit that we brought for him. Just because they don't. It is against their policy. OK, so what about my blood work? They looked at the paper and were not sure that they could do that one either. I asked why not and they said that they could call and check with my doctor. Then they told us to sit back down and wait while they called. After sitting for another half hour, they told me that they could not do my blood draw either. Another policy I guess. I could not believe that we waited over one and a half hours and then had to walk away without either one of us being helped. I will never go back to this lab again. read more

My one-year-old daughter needed to have bloodwork done, and the staff here could not have been more helpful or attentive. They kindly answered all of my questions the day before, and we were in and out in about 10 minutes. They got the needle in with ease and with minimal tears from my little one. I am so grateful for how skilled, compassionate and professional everyone was. This is our new go-to lab! read more

Aaaaaarrrrrgghhhh!!!!!! This place is soooo painfully slow!!!!! However much time you think you'll need for your labs, triple it.

If you'd like to experience a taste of what Russia must have been like before the fall of the iron curtain, Labcorp of San Mateo is a great way to get the full treatment. It starts with the receptionist (Maria) who tries her level best to make you feel like an unwelcome intruder with stern commands and a snarl that says "sit down, shut up, and do as you are told." An extra layer of fun is provided by LabCorp's scheduling system. Since people with appointments are always bumped to the front of the line (which makes sense), it pretty much doesn't matter when you show up or how long you have waited if you took the chance of rolling in without an appointment. Your wait will be of indeterminate length, and Maria will tell you in a very stern tone that "she just doesn't know!!!" how long the remaining wait is if you dare ask. Now, as I said, taking people who scheduled appointments over walk-in customers is meaningful, but a FRIGGIN' sign or other disclaimer on the sign in sheet would be helpful. The blood draw (once you get there) is alright and depends on the phlebotomist as to whether you get mangled or out of there fairly unscathed. Bottom line: cheaper than Mills Peninsula but give yourself an extra hour and enjoy the iron curtain experience. read more

Maybe it would be better to show up without an appointment? I made one and showed up right on time and the waiting room was full of people that they were just admitting in the order they walked in. I made an appointment because I have a busy schedule. I had to leave before I even had the service performed. Waste of time. read more
