A few mornings ago I was treated by two former strangers with some awesome customer service that deserves recognition. I was helped by Sarah W and Dezyre L at the Lafayette Labcorp facility. It was busy, but Sarah soon greeted me with a warm smile and matching demeanor, then inquired how she could assist me. My need at the moment required her to look through my multiple lab test requisitions for a few minutes during which time she maintained the nice atmosphere with appropriate "chit chat". She completed her task with professional composure then asked Dezyre to tend to my blood-drawing. I was pleasantly impressed to observe Dezyre demonstrate the same refreshing welcoming warm personality and professionalism. I'm a dermatologist, currently with a small practice in Lafayette, but formerly with a large practice, with lots of employees, etc. If I still had such a place to offer them employment, I would try to steal them from Labcorp! read more

I got a same morning appointment and came in for lots of tests. Since I have awful veins (the result of lots of surgeries and IV meds over the years) I was sure I would be there for a while. I was impressed by the protocol and the patience of the techs. Each one of three phlebotomists took one careful and well-considered stick and the third one got a good draw on a small but superficial vein he spotted while walking in the door! The place was empty when I came in at 7:45 am and full when I left (8:45 am), but they could not have handled this better. That said, I am not a huge fan of the automatic check-in but someone was in reception right away after that and was personable, had a good sense of humor, and made everything easier. read more

I called ahead at 3:15 and said I was just down the street on my way in traffic with my 88 year old mother who needed to have an urgent lab drawn (the specimen sent to labcorp two days prior apparently was lost and never resulted). The person who answered the phone said as long as I arrived before closure, they would accommodate us and do the blood draw. Then she abruptly said she had to go and hung up on me. I arrived at 3:26 (closure time was 3:30) and the entire place was closed and door was locked and no one was there. I then had to drive over 30 minutes to another lab that was open. Incredibly RUDE to lie and say they would stay open until closing time. Had I known they actually lock the doors even BEFORE closing time, I would never have wasted my time going there. I will NEVER go to this location again and to the person who answered the phone -- learn some basic honesty!!!!! read more

No. Just no. Upon entering, they have two self check-in consoles side-by-side. By itself, this might seem like a good idea. However, please consider these issues: 1. The screens can be publicly seen by people in the waiting room. They can view your driver's license and your medical card, as well as your email address. 2. The waiting room was filled with people, the youngest of whom was about 75. There was even a conversation of one-upmanship on who was born in the earlier 1920s. The struggling going on to check in was agonizing. 3. The person assigned to help these people was about as inefficient as possible. She was polite and appeared caring, but that's where it ended. 4. There is no provision to bypass this and have the office attendant check in those who are insufficiently tech-savvy. And now let's get to that office attendant. She complained bitterly about her exhaustion, commuting from Turlock for her job, and that she was sleep-deprived from enjoying her weekend. That wouldn't be too bad until later in your visit. After I checked myself in, I was put in a room with the lights out for a very long time. Sitting in the dark, the conversations that I was hearing, both from the people in the waiting room and the staff, was not reassuring. It bordered on the surreal. And then in came the sleep-deprived person from the front desk. She was the one that was to take a blood sample. This didn't instill much confidence. Let's say that the only good part of that encounter was that she took a decent blood draw. The interaction was unpleasant at best. I shall not be returning to Labcorp. I would rather pay another facility for my lab work. read more

I don't know why this place has such poor ratings, but I do see many reviews are quite old. I have been here about 5 times in the last 18 months and have always been treated very nicely. All my blood draws have gone smoothly and I'm quite prone to getting faint. I have never made an appointment, always go in the morning and have never had to wait more than 10 mins. Today I went in on a Monday just after 8 am and was in and out in less than 10 mins. read more

I'm sure people only review a LabCorp if they've had a bad experience, but we had a great experience this morning. I had been dreading taking my 2 year old in for an allergy testing blood draw, and put it off for months. Finally just decided to do it today, and it was very easy to make an appt, park, and check in. They took us back immediately (early) and the two men who did the blood draw were fantastic and good with kids. Easy, no drama, quick. Attempted to have a stool sample diagnostic test but ran into numerous obstacles. They gave me a packet to take home The instructions in the packet said to put it in the enclosed mailing envelope, There was no envelope. Drove back to LabCorp and they said they removed the envelope and should have told me to return it in person. What they should do is change the instructions in the packet. Took the packet home, used it and drove back to LabCorp to drop it off. They then told me that it is not just a drop off, but I need to sign in and go into the back room to have the paperwork processed. I was late for another appointment and didn't have time for that. In summary, they have taken a simple mailing process and made a customer unfriendly process of it. I recommend you use a different lab. read more

The process was pretty quick, I was in and out within 15 minutes. The people at the desk were unprofessional and rude. I asked a question about the check in process and the guy sighed and seemed very annoyed when he was explaining, and then continued to complain to another coworker when I sat down. The lady who took my blood, luckily, was extremely nice and funny. I told her I was nervous, and she was very assuring and tried her best to distract me. LabCorp is terrible. Provides the opposite of customer service. No one at the local LabCorp office answers the phone. I waited 58 minutes for someone on the LabCorp 800 customer service phone to answer and no one did. I then went into the local office in Lafayette and they treated me like they could care less about me. Rude. Unhelpful. Disrespectful. It's such a shame what our health care system has become and that LabCorp is the worst example of a huge decline in basic decency and courtesy. Went there today for some routine blood work. Process could not have been smoother or quicker. The kiosks are fine. The receptionist was friendly and efficiently. The woman who drew my blood, Amber, was friendly and good at her job - I didn't feel a thing. In and out in less than 10 mins. This place is terrible. When taking my gestational diabetes test, I had a tough time getting down the drink within the five minutes. I asked the front desk person for a cup to drink out of (as opposed to the bottle given) and he told me that I needed to drink it out of the bottle. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE WHAT I DRINK OUT OF?? Earlier this week, I had to have more blood drawn so called to make sure my favorite person was still working there. Came in for a urine specimen at 2 pm last Wednesday. Dr. had sent a lab order 2 hours before. Waiting room empty. Waited 10 minutes before asking the receptionist if I could just leave a urine specimen. She said "I'm the only one here.". Then told me to go leave one. This place is a mixed bag. Most of the staff is caring and competent, but as someone mentioned below, one of the phlebotomists (young, white, thin, long hair) is dreadful. She tried to draw blood and it was excruciating--when I asked her to stop, she blamed me for supposedly not keeping my arm straight enough. No apology. Stay clear of this lab. I have been sent to this lab by my primary physician for routine blood work for a number of years and it has always been consistent. Yesterday May 31, 2018 I arrived well ahead of when they open. I was the first through the door and logged in through the automated sign in. Within a few minutes the male receptionist announced me by my middle name followed by my first name. Once this was clear who he was addressing I approached the counter and provided my doctors lab request and included my take home stool sample packet completely sealed and secure in the provided packet. He IMMEDIATLLY dramatically scolded me and in an elevated voice "YOU SHOULD HAVE WARNED ME IT WAS YOUR STOOL SAMPLE" followed by a dramatic display of wiping down with hand sanitizer. Flat out this guy is unemployable and has no business greeting anyone. If this is the new standard in this field good luck. Your Lab Technician who drew my blood was an absolute pleasure and unquestionable did her best to reverse the unspeakable behavior of her coworker. read more
