This location is painfully slow. I was first on the waiting list and there were only two other people with appointments. But here I am still waiting 45 minutes later, even though their own board says they are serving 0 patients. No idea what they're doing back there but it's not taking blood. Labcorp is infinitely faster but I have one doctor who only works with Quest. I may beg her to switch. No one at the front desk even asked for my order for 45 minutes.... The actual technician did a pretty painless job and was nice, but they have got to do something about processing patients better. read more

My appointment went smoothly. I easily registered with my drivers. License on their machine. Folks, apparently without an appointment, we're there already. Peng explained to them, why she would be taking me in, prior to them. I was there to have blood drawn for them to check more in depth than I could get Kaiser to check for. Amazing! I had a 10:50 am appointment and was in and out at 11:10 am. I had a lot of bloodwork done, too. But the BEST part was the wonderful woman, Peng that took such amazing care of me. She genuinely was caring and talking to me before hand explaining everything and making sure I was okay the entire time. I felt like a patient not just a name and a number. I made an appointment for lab tests ordered by my doctor. When I arrived and checked in, staff said they had no orders. I emailed them the orders from my doctor. They said they did not get them. I waited forty minutes. Still no tests. The staff member mocked me when I told her I couldn't listen to her and type in their long email address. I've been a loyal Quest patient but after this experience, never again. Too bad because it's a convenient location for Lamorinda residents. read more

The staff member who helped me was kind, patient, and eager to assist. She explained the importance of booking in advance, but still went out of her way to help me on the spot. Let me say that Quest services are poor. I made an appointment for mom, showed up and no appointment. Told to wait but don't know for how long. I made an online appointment for Walnut Creek. It seems that doing the appointments on the computer don't work versus mobile. There is only one phlebotomist. How non customer oriented is this organization? I walked out after a simple 1 tube blood draw thinking I'd never met such a rude biatch in my life. She went out of her way to be short tempered, insult us and make us feel like we failed with every step we took. Snapped at us for standing in the wrong place, snapped at us for not drinking enough and wasting her time by having the blood come out too slowly, snapped at us for not filling out the form within 1 millisecond rather than in the 1 second it took to pick up the pen after her command. Reading the comments, I see many 1 Star reviews for Peng, but also some 5 star. Either she chooses who to give bad v good service to, discriminates based on-?- or fills out lots of 5 star reviews herself to keep her job. Quest appears ripe for VC takeover. I've been sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes (now 10 min late) and the person that went before me left 15 min ago. I was told "I'm need to get set up for you test". What in the hell - this is just a simple blood draw. Now 5 people are waiting behind me and 1 person just left. Recommendation: go early in the morning, book an apt, and expect to wait regardless. read more

I had to do routine bloodwork for my annual wellness check in and I was a little nervous with all the COVID fears but the whole experience was amazing. First of all the technician Peng was amazing. That said, the whole set up was great too. They used an online system to sign up and choose an appointment that suited my schedule. I was able to check in using a link they texted me. I was able to decide whether to wait in the car, outside, or inside their waiting room. They texted me back when it was my turn and I waked right into my time slot within 3 minutes of the scheduled time. Because of the online system I only saw two other people the whole time. One on my way in and one on my way out. Great and safe experience. They are using technology the right way! One tip: this location is in the backside of the building away from Mt. Diablo Blvd. The mapping software did not tell me to turn into Risa Rd. But you have to! The other parking lot connection to Mt. Diablo is One way out! read more

Stop and think about it.... can you really explain the difference between Quest and Lab Corp? Let's face it, for most things there really is no difference. Convenience of location and hours maybe. Customer service definitely. That's why it's so hard for me to understand why this Quest location was just so awful for customer service. Driving my kid from high school, that I got him out early from, we ran into traffic and arrived 15 minutes late for an appointment. The lady at the desk gave me snark...she said he *had* an appointment...snarky tone intending to say that 15 minutes was way past their grace period. There was not another person in the waiting room. So I said "how about squeezing us in now anyway?" "We're all out of appointments for today," she said. "Don't you say you take walk-ins?" "Check on the kiosk," she said flatly, no compassion, no helpfulness. The kiosk said there were no walk in slots left for the day. By then she had begun talking to a coworker. This was well before closing and they could have done what was a simple blood test. I took back the prescription slip and left with my son. On the way out the door she said, "your behavior wasn't very courteous to me." TO HER! As if she were the center of the universe and the more important party in this transaction. That is not a "client first" attitude but a "me first." We drove 10 minutes away to Lab Corp. Not only did they not mind the walk in, but the entire test took under three minutes to perform! While I was there I saw the desk attendant work with a patient who had come in without his prescription, calling that patient's doctor to check. Not only was this friendly and client focused service, but it went above and beyond what that patient had even expected by solving a problem. Compare that with Quest, which not only didn't solve my problem, but blamed me for not thanking them. So now I really can explain the difference between the two lab companies. And I know which one I'm going to go to for life, and which one to avoid. read more

I made my first visit to the Lafayette facility on 4-6-2023. I arrived after what I thought was a successful attempt to book an appt online. When I got there to check-in, I went to the desk where I was met by a short, dark-haired lady who screamed 'Check in over there, over there' while waving wildly in the direction of the lobby doors. I am old but I am neither stupid or deaf, and I resent such outrageous, discourteous behavior on the part of an employee. Quest Diagnostics need NEVER worry about me EVER visiting this facility again. That woman was about as welcoming as Attila the Hun. Woman performing my annual health screening was argumentative and combative from the moment I started talking to her (similar to other commenters experiences). She argued with me about the scope of the health screening, which I've been doing ~ 10 years now. She even argued with me regarding the service I got at the Lafayette same time last year. I'm fairly certain of what was done and what was not done to my body last year. It got to the point where I had just walked out without even starting the health screening. I went to this location because I had a good experience here last year. Unfortunately I've been to other locations and they are even worse. I will not be back. Location is convenient BUT there is an uncontrollable employee Peng B who runs this lab as it would be a her own place. She on a constant basis harass patients, rude and abusive. I'm a disabled person who almost got a heart attack from her treatment. I had an appointment at 11:30 and when i walked into the door to register she said that i could not come here anymore on a question why? she answered what i would have restraining order. Then she proceeded and draw my blood like nothing happened , but used a thick needle different from what the other phlebotomist used i guess as form to express herself. This. is not a first time it happened. Her manager Suzan called to apologize for her employee and assured me that it never will happen again. but it happening now again. Suzan assured me that Peng cannot decide who comes to what location and who doesn't but it happend today. It seems that This facility is not controlled by Quest corporation but run by a uncontrollable person who harms patients with her rudeness and lies. Switch to LabCorp and no regrets. This new, convenient lab in Lafayette COULD be a dream but for the horrendous phlebotomist who "runs" it!!! I would give it negative stars if I could. I first visited this lab days earlier to pick up a home test kit for my elderly family member. Another quest employee was passing through but was nice enough to help out (although the lab was empty) since the phlebotomist never came up front to assist. Oddly, there was no lab order in their system, so I called the Drs office & they faxed it a second time. I was given a home test kit and the faxed order was placed in a pile. Unfortunately I was given the wrong test kit (according to the drs office), so I returned on this day to get the correct kit. Again, the lab was empty except for the phlebotomist at the front desk. As I politely explained what had happened, she intentionally made no eye contact while insisting that no order was on file, and no fax could have been sent by the Dr even though I was holding the incorrect kit. She shrugged her shoulders telling me to call the Dr. Of course, the Drs office was frustrated and perplexed but faxed it yet again. They asked that I wait until the fax came through to be sure, and described the kit I should receive. Following 20 minutes of waiting, being ignored, and 3 more fax attempts by the dr, the woman argued with me about the "wrong kit" insisting that it was fine. I told her that I am not the Dr., and that the 1st test I was given was much too complicated to follow for an elderly person, especially one with memory problems. She relied, "complicated? Can't they read?" pointing to the instruction sheet. I asked her how she manages her elderly dementia patients or perhaps those who don't speak English well (as she herself was foreign) to which she replied angrily "they can read the pictures! " This woman is not fit to work with any patients, especially not the elderly or challenged. I am truly appalled. I further witnessed her rudeness, insensitivity, & lack of human kindness with a lovely elderly woman who arrived with an emergency lab order from her oncologist. She was clearly emotional and shaky. She began sharing her story of survival with me, and I was so touched by her strength and her need for a kind ear and heart. She thanked me for caring and for having a "big heart." As she attempted to talk to the phlebotomist asking simply "how new is this lab?," and "do you work here alone?" she was disregarded and ignored. I was horrified and speechless. I rarely take the time to contact a company about an employee, but I could not turn a blind eye to this. This woman is off putting, inappropriate, and distasteful. She is condescending, gruff, and seemingly hates her job. Quest should monitor their employees more closely and prohibit this type of mistreatment of patients. Perhaps "one man labs" are an equation for disaster as there are no checks and balances. This was truly one of the most offensive and disconcerting experiences I have ever had with any medical "professional" and I hope this woman will be held accountable and perhaps find another occupation. As a side note, when I eventually took my family member in for a blood draw, we had a phenomenal phlebotomist named Willie who was floating. Not only was he VERY skilled (she has very small, difficult veins), but his bedside manner was amazing! Willie is kind, gentle, and an absolute breath of fresh air! Thank you Willie! read more

I can't say enough good things about Peng, the amazing phlebotomist who single-handedly keeps this place running smoothly. She is friendly and efficient on all fronts: the check-in, the processing of multiple clients, the provision of specimen supplies. Moreover, Peng is very gifted at painless blood draws. Peng at the My. Diablo location is wonderful. I have a problem with Quest's AP. I forgot my password and I asked for a new password they then gave me the code that I needed to get the new password but they would not accept the code that they gave me to allow me to move forward. Very frustrating. I have some results coming up and I really want to be able to view them immediately when they are available to me, but I can't seem to do this because the app blocked me. You can't even send a message to Quest to ask for assistance for that didn't work either. read more

I have pipes for veins but multiple locations require 3 sticks to hit one. Poorly trained personal and unfriendly to boot. Misordered labs. I was told redraw wouldn't be charged, then they charged me. I'm a physician and used to send my patients there-not anymore. Go to labcorp- seem to be better and friendlier read more

Peng was amazing! She provided great customer service even though she was the only one working at the location. I felt comfortable and barely felt her draw blood. Horrible the male phlebotomist there put the tourniquet on way too tight and too long and could never find a vein!! Now my arm hurts like hell and I can barely move it. The Asian woman phlebotomist was also horrible the last time I came and gave up very quickly and demanded to take the blood from my hand which I said no to because its way too close to nerve and painful! Peng is fantastic at blood draws. She is a super nice person too. She runs the place alone so occasionally is not at the receptionist desk when you enter but that is because she is working! I get a lot of blood tests and love going to this location which has easy parking and seems new and clean. Peng, the phlebotomist, is incredible. Not only is she incredibly efficient at running the entire operation, her ability to draw blood without pain is remarkable. I typically opt for drop in visits, and I have never waited longer than 20 minutes. This facility is exceptionally fast and convenient. read more

Since my last review was ignored, here it is again: I made an  appointment at the Quest, Lafayette office a few days ago.  The young  phlebotomist working  there was efficient.  She was also was very rude!!   Previously, my  doctor's office staff gave me a sample kit for blood  testing and told me  to give it to the lab (Quest) and "they will know  what to do."  During  my visit to Quest, the phlebotomist proceeded to  tell in a very condescending and antagonistic manner on THREE separate  occasions to read the kit instructions (for example there was a form in  the kit that I hadn't filled out beforehand).   The first two times  she rebuked me,  I ignored her haughty attitude.  The third time she  did so , I objected  to her behavior, telling her she did not have to  admonish me THREE  times.  She had the nerve to reply by scolding me!   She is easily one of  the rudest person I've ever encountered in the  medical profession.  I can handle negative interactions with rude  people with no problem.  But  the same may not true for others,  particularly the many elderly people  coming to this Quest office for  assistance.  I see from the Yelp reviews  that I am not the only person  voicing this type of complaint about this  particular phlebotomist.   But, NO ONE should have to put up with her  type of behavior and this  should not go unnoticed by Quest management.   Again, this individual seems quite efficient.  She may become a stellar member of Quest if she changes her poor attitude. read more
