Whenever she is the one helping me, the experience is always a positive one. Whether she is drawing my blood or handling my paperwork, she is consistently kind, patient, professional, and excellent at what she does. That means a lot to me, especially because I often have a lot of tests, which can feel overwhelming. She always handles everything with so much care and understanding, and it truly makes a difference. LABCORP * 1 star. PATRICE ***** 5 stars I wish there were a separate page on which to give a review for a staff person. My two stars are just two of the five and more stars deserved by the hard working, patient staff members working this last Saturday, March 14 morning at this way understaffed location. They deserve five stars for their courage and courtesy. The gentleman at the front desk was, you could sense, way overworked, but holding up well despite all that, and maintaining his courteous, patient self. Thank you, sir! I want to ESPECIALLY commend PATRICE, my technician (I so hope I remembered her name correctly), for her professionalism and her caring interest in her patients. While drawing my blood, Patrice inquired about my amount of daily water intake, I think because my veins are small and difficult to see well. And she proceeded to discuss with me ways to get enough water each day. She was kind, cheerful and interested in me as her patient. This kind of caring is rare. Her draw was also painless. Now back to Labcorp issues. My husband and I have been using this lab for a long time, starting with its location within the hospital building. We have watched it fall off a cliff as the corporation has become way understaffed. Last year, with an appointment, I waited forty five minutes on a Saturday morning for my fasting labs. Yesterday I had a 9:30 a.m. appointment. I got there at 9:15, did my sign in from the car by their new texting sign in system, and got texted right away to come up to the desk inside . My heart rose! The lab lobby was just jammed with patients. My heart sank. But I got called for desk sign in immediately! My heart rose! I did about five more minutes of sign in at the desk, and then got called for my draws within only about five minutes (interestingly, along with several other patients.) My heart sang! I was hopeful! BUT THEN, I waited for a full half hour in the blood draw room. My heart and my hopes for a Labcorp revival plummeted! My husband had a 9:35 a.m. appointment, and waited in total, about 40 minutes to get tested. It would appear that Labcorp is trying to streamline patient processing time by putting in new, automated patient sign in methods, and perhaps changing their patient call in process (8 patients called in at once?) But without enough staff it's pretty useless, besides adding to our overly robotic life experience. There have been many signs of employee burnout over the past year or two at the desk, as well. I truly feel for anyone trying to work for Labcorp these days. One would think that somehow Labcorp could lower their profit goals just enough to provide the kind of quality service that people need. John Muir, WHERE ARE YOU in this matter that is affecting so many lives? We at least need other lab company options. Has Labcorp become a monopoly? We are genuinely puzzled. But again, PATRICE, YOU ARE AN ANGEL! YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL REASON FOR MY WANTING TO WRITE A REVIEW! Once again another bad Labcorp experience. I checked their website and app for holiday hours. This location showed closed Thanksgiving but open today. The app and website show it open right now. It's closed after fasting and getting up at 5:30 to get to the location by opening at 6:00. The hours at my closest location also show open today, but I knew that wasn't true because I stopped by earlier in the week and saw a sign. read more

I don't understand why when I put in the address to this place it takes me to apartments on the street and when I call I cannot reach anyone? It's honestly ridiculous how I can't find the building to save my life. Maybe it's my fault because I'm not looking hard enough but to be fair it shouldn't be this difficult finding a clinic for routine lab work. read more

Came here to get my blood drawn for my externship for school. I was able to call and book an appointment to get my blood drawn. I never been to this labcorp before I always thought it was a hospital use only. I never realized this building right next to hospital. It is a bit tricky to get parking so I suggest to come early to find a parking spot and give yourself time to find the place. read more

Even if you have an appointment, the wait at La Casa Via is 45-60 min. Hire more people, please.

You have to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment anywhere in the East Bay. Then, you can only get an appointment for after 10:30, which is terrible if you have to fast. I got to my appointment early and asked if I would be taken before the appointment time. I ended up waiting almost two hours- while fasting- to have my blood drawn. In addition, their computer system went down, si I could not confirm my appointment on my computer before-hand. Also, their computers in Danville went down, so Alamo was over-run with walk-ins. They need to improve their computer systems, hire more people and update the way they handle patient flow! read more

We had to book fasting blood tests for both our teens and none were available early morning near home except for this lab. I have to admit after reading the reviews I was nervous. I was pleasantly surprised that I had nothing to worry about. The facility looks super new. It was hard to figure out where to go in the big hospital but the folks at front desks were super helpful. Once we got to the lab, check in was straight forward. However we did see an elderly struggle with the technology. The technician who helped us was very helpful and friendly. When my daughter asked about why the color of her blood looks so dark, he explained it to her in a way she understood. Painless experience with a side of education! Love it. Also he had a lovely chat with my son and husband. Would definitely recommend. I think the rating is low because folks tend to take extra effort to post negative experiences but less likely to post positive experiences. read more

Beautiful location, but staff randomly decides if they will take pts or not. Location listed as open till 12p. Arrive to a sign saying will only do draw if appointment. I drove 1.5 hrs to get labs my dress office felt were urgent.... only to be told 2hrs earlier they had lots of pts so the decided no more walk ins for the day. This is ridiculous!!!! I use to love coming to this lab!!! The staff use to be lovely and the manger (not sure if its the same one) is awesome! The staff working today was incredibly rude and cursed at me for asking how much longer the wait time would be since we were already 45 min over the scheduled appt time. I cant even believe they would hire someone so unprofessional! There was a waiting room filled with children. I understand it's a stressful job and they can run behind but the attitude was unacceptable. She treated all of the customers the same way! Corporate and john muir need to be aware. read more

Came in with an appointment and was out within 10 minutes! I had Simeon as my phlebotomist and he was extremely nice and thorough. He went through all my info before the blood draw and gave clear instructions. For the first time in my life I had zero pain at all with the blood draw and I've had blood work done a lot. No pain during needle insertion and none during the draw which is a huge win for someone with a fear of needles!! I wish I could book specifically with him for my next bloodwork, but I'm definitely coming back to this location just to have a chance at getting him again. read more

First off, you have to check in electronically, which is super impersonal. The old LabCorp was so much better, when they were in the hospital. I couldn't even be seen because while there was only four patients the "computer was down" and the guy told me to leave. This morning I went to this location to do my lab work and the employee told me it was an appointment only location, I told her I have been there before as a walk in patient and she started arguing with me and told me that I can registered however she will not assist me. This location is significantly under resourced. Wait times range from 1.5-2.5 hours. Today they only had 3 employees working to service 30+ patients. They've closed the Orinda and Lafayette locations due to staffing. The east bay labcorps are barely running, they're all a disaster. read more

I am writing to express my deep frustration with the service I experienced at 177 La Casa Via, Walnut Creek LabCorp location. I arrived as a walk-in patient for routine bloodwork and waited over two hours to be seen. This was not only uncomfortable but completely unacceptable. I understand that appointments are prioritized, but I have visited other LabCorp facilities in the eBay Area without an appointment and have never waited more than 30 minutes. Many walk-ins at this location left due to the excessive wait times, which clearly indicates a severe lack of efficiency and staff management. If walk-ins are going to be treated as an afterthought, it should be clearly communicated online and at the location. People plan their schedules, fast for hours, and expect basic courtesy and reasonable care, none of which was provided today. Please have respect for the patients and their time! read more

Worst even. Had a 10:45am appointment, waited 45 minutes to get called. Non appointment people were waiting 1-11/2 hours. Disgraceful. Most people like myself were fasting. I have used Lab Corp for the last 12 years, every 3 months. This last year has been beyond unacceptable. Make appointment 4-6 weeks in advance, appointments not on time, no appointments at the Alamo lab, all appointments after 10am. The ladies at the front desk are sooooo rude. I sat and watched them treat multiple elderly patients like dogs. I see there's multiple others that have made reviews about the front desk ladies. Obviously you don't care enough to do something about it. Luckily the phlebotomist was so so nice. But as for the front they run the place and you need to DO BETTER. It's not that hard to be kind. Ug, they moved again. I took down the address and then went to the old building and realized it wasn't the address I took down. When I went into the building sure enough they weren't there anymore. 177. Turns out that's in the hospital. So now you've got to find parking in there somewhere and then find that particular building and suite. Never again. The labcorp by my house is booked up for weeks apparently so I have tried this one for the last time and am done with labcorp. I will ask the doctor is there is a different place, if not, then forget my bloodwork. It's not supposed to be this hard. read more

Can't get the web site to open for Walnut Creek to make an appointment. Called the number for the location that I got on my iPhone and was referred to the web site. Nemo was amazing, he was so reassuring and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable as I was very nervous.

I checked in electronically. However, the woman in front took forever to redo everything and she looked like she was half asleep and very angry. She behaved like I was not even there. Meanwhile 3 people who came after were served in a very goodnatured way. Yes, my blood was drawn, however it was extremely painful and without a glance or checking in on my wellbeing. This woman should not be working with people, especially patients that have so much more on their plates. read more

Horrible experience! I went to go get labs done, not only did I wait an hour extra but they lost my labs. I had 3 tubes of blood taken and my arm was bruised for 2 weeks. Every other place I've gone I have never experienced this. read more

Because so many of the Labcorp offices have closed, there is a very long wait at the La Casa Via site. The staff is very professional and try to do their best, but the lab is clearly understaffed and the employees seem to be overworked. Many of the large number of people waiting to be served seemed to be annoyed with the long wait. read more

Receptionist was lovely and very kind, but the Phlebotomist I saw wouldn't listen to me when I asked her to draw blood from my hand rather than my arm. She pulled the needle out an angle when she was finished and really got me good--I was bleeding for a long time after and the wound is still much more painful than regular blood draws. I left frustrated and in pain, I wish she'd take her patients' seriously! read more

Very nice team that took a Walk-in patient at 4.45 pm on a Thursday. I was promptly seen and Lab Tech Elizabeth has the magic touch since I have terrible, often misbehaving veins for lab draws. She got it on the first attempt. The greeter was also very nice and completes your slot after you check in at the kiosk. This location is also open until 8 pm which is a definite plus. Went to this location not realizing it was located at John Muir Hospital. I booked my appointment through LabCorp and the directions don't give you a unit/floor etc. I am giving this location a 4 only because I couldn't find parking for about 20 min! Thankfully I showed up a little early but parking really sucks here. I walked up to the main hospital building entrance and the security guard was quick to guide me to the LabCorp office. The location itself was clean, check in was easy, the staff were friendly and accommodating. No complaints at all there. For weekday drop in appt. the wait wasn't bad at all either. read more

Terrible experience for dozens of people waiting for up to 2.5 hours for simple labs. There were upwards of 25 people waiting in the area shared with urgent care. You go to the kiosk check-in which does help at all bc you will still have to re-check-in at the desk with the loudest woman alive who will yell out your first name like she is a yard duty supervisor. Then you wait again! There were no appts available for weeks in this main lab location. An elderly woman in a wheelchair and on oxygen had been waiting for almost two hours. She finally said to her caregiver, "We have to go. I just don't feel well at all." Then she said, "I just wet my diaper. Oh my God. I am so embarrassed." She had to be close to 90 yrs old and was obviously quite ill. I felt so sorry for her as she was terribly ashamed. Just outrageously unprofessional and downright nasty experience for all those who were trying to get their labs taken care of. And the woman belting out the names should be either given a new job or get off of her tail and walk to where the patients can hear her clearly. No wonder there are so many terrible reviews. As I was leaving after 1 hour and 45 minutes with no service, I told several people in the waiting room that I had just booked an appt online for the next day at Quest Diagnostics. People starting going online to make appts there. Everyone was fed-up. Perhaps LabCorp does not pay their phlebotomists well enough to maintain a full staff. Just save yourself time and a headache and book somewhere else. read more

This is hit or miss depending on which lab station you go to. If you go to the one in the new Cancer center by John Muir in Walnut Creek you should expect to be treated rudely or at least coldly by the woman at the front desk. She will bark orders to the entire room, doesn't smile and is too busy to give you even a tiny smile. The other lab techs are competent but not friendly. I used to go to the lab inside the hospital but that has been closed and no idea where those nice people went. The other place I tried is the draw station inside the building with Urgent Care on Treat blvd near the Bike trail and BART station. The people who work there are very nice, but don't go there without your paper orders. Half the time the won't be able to find your doctors order in the "system" and you will end up going back to the doctor, or back home to return the next day with the order on paper. You need to be prepared to have your drivers license with you when you check in here. The lab assistants seem to be very competent, but, they aren't very friendly, even if you try to smile and be courteous. It makes no sense to me why we have to send our lab tests down to SouthernbCA to be processed. Why don't we have a lab in Northern California?! read more

Arrived without an appointment because appointments so impossible near the date of making an appointment and site said appointment wasn't necessary. Drive across town on a Saturday at 7 am in the cold and dark. Told that no one would be seen without an appointment despite what site said. It had been decided "the night before"just for that day "by the supervisor." Only a couple of people there, so they definitely could have taken me. Beware relying on their website. (I had tried twice to make early morning appointments over the last several weeks and none were available except late in the afternoon, which makes fasting blood tests very uncomfortable...and not necessary!) read more

For the first time in decades it hurt real bad AND left a two inch tall bloody welt. I sent my mom back in and the tech had the nerve to ask her what SHE did. Fire the whole staff. If i could give Labcrap minus 100, I would. The girl who tried to take my blood was clueless...these idiots need training. I had blood drawn on 4/6/24 and my results have not been forwarded to my doctor.Today is 5/12/24 I can see some of my results on the Labcrap website. I have made several attempts through the Labcrap website to find out why some of the test results are missing. Clearly there's an issue; and the response I recieve is "it's processing". Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to list out the test results that are missing and to inquire why they have not forwarded any test results to my doctor. They have already billed Medicare. Test results are missing. It appears My blood work was either lost, or sat someplace and is no longer good. So my results are left in limbo. They just don't care. read more

I have had blood drawn here multiple times during both of my pregnancies over the past 4 years. I have always received painless, kind and quick service. I work in healthcare and have found the phlebotomists to be professional and skilled. The only downside to this location is the lack of close parking - but that's on the hospital, not labcorp. read more

Lawsuit waiting to happen... avoid this location if you can! Logistically the process is a hot mess. I received confirmation that I had an appointment for 9:15 am Saturday and there would be a self check in kiosk in the entrance for QR code's. When I arrived at 9:10am there was no kiosk and instead there was a podium that asked you to sign in on paper. There was one person (young block women) sitting behind the desk and I was patiently waiting standing at the podium after signing my name. Then I heard the registration person say, "Check in and sit down." Keep in mind Covid is Airborne! Let me describe the waiting area. It's a room with no adequate ventilation or Hepa filters. Luckily I wore 2 mask and a face shield. (At my personal providers doctor's office at One Medical you will notice Hepa filters in the waiting area and through out the facility. There is also no waiting area because they ask some ppl to stand outside. Not at Lapcorp! ) They also didn't have signage to stay 6 feet apart. I was lucky that the 15 ppl in that room all had surgical mask on. Then a "white couple" start to sign in and the registration person promptly greets them and says out loud " If you have an appointment make sure to indicate that on the sheet!" I was livid! I go back to the sheet to indicate I had an appointment. Then she finally goes to the sheet and I inform her I had a 9:15 appointment, by that time it was close to 10am. She then goes on to preach to me that I should have checked in online and that she would have seen that on her registration queue. I hand her my online confirmation and then she ask for my insurance and ID. I told her that I was self pay and that wanted to remain anonymous... She asked me to go into the patient room and waited for another 10 minutes. I noticed the smaller rooms didn't have adequate ventilation and I thought for a minute. Could these companies not be mitigating Covid spread by contributing to healthcare workers getting sick and dying. At that point I forgave the registration person and had I could emphasize that these ppl are just trying their best with what resources they have. This is my go to lab. Very convenient and pretty fast. I always set up an appointment before I come here. And sometimes though they go off of that appointment list and sometimes they go off of the sign in sheet even though you check off that you have an appointment. In any event the service here is usually fast and painless and the waiting area is clean. read more
