I got labs drawn today at this location. Overall they were friendly, they had an automated system that scans your ID and insurance card. I could see where it could be difficult for an older person but it went smoothly for me. I was called to the back and they were flawless with the blood draw and the care. Time for some blood work and a trip to LabCorp. I didn't have an appointment, so I knew some waiting would be involved, but I got there early. Checkin was easy at the monitor, My wait was only about 15 minutes. The friendly lady that drew my blood was nice and gentle. She did a good job. No pain and I was out of there within 20 minutes, but the secret was , I arrived early. Labcorp has a comfortable waiting area TV with the local news the AC mades it nice. That's right, wake up, get the blood flowing literally. And then get In-N-Out (no pun intended), show up early without the crowds, this group was coughing, hacking & sneezing, and basically forced me to wait outside til my name was called... They FISH for veins! My 10 year old needed labs & we came here & I could tell the man was in training because he had a woman with him telling him steps by steps. I was weary but decided not to say anything because everyone trains at some point right? Well he missed. And he continued to FISH for the being for a solid 2-3 mins before I spoke up. The lady training him said he's been doing this for 2 years. WHAT! You should NEVERRRR fish for a vein!!! Lab results are MOSTLY accurate when they come in, but the results coming into the patient portal is INCREDIBLY SLOW. This lab is NOT very efficient, but the techs are pretty good. This tells me the problem is with the company, NOT the technicians! read more

I scheduled a 10:30 appointment at LabCorp and still ended up waiting over 90 minutes to be seen. What's the point of an appointment if you're treated like a walk-in? The wait time was absolutely ridiculous and really needs improvement. read more

I love this Labcorp location!! Their hours are much more flexible than other locations, with openings on Saturdays until noon. They are also quick at seeing me even if I am a walk-in. Every phlebotomist I've ever seen here has been EXCEPTIONAL at what they do & also very kind. I truly enjoy when I can get my labs done here. read more

I've been doing my labs here for years from PAL to Westpac labs and now to LabCorp and since then it seems better. It looks like the same awesome staff. Anytime I've come in, the wait time hasn't been long and the service is quick and the best thing they've ever done to make this lab even better is the appointments. Since you're able to make appointments now, you can definitely guarantee you don't have to wait too long in the lobby. The staff here always look happy and they're always on the go. Anytime I come for labs, they always get people in and out quickly. I've also come in on super busy days and the wait time is usually not too long either, but sometimes you'll wait about 45min to be called back, so if you remember... make sure to make your appointment ahead of time. Lobby looks outdated and I feel that they can possibly upgrade on their chairs, but other than that it seems okay. There's tons of seating for everyone and the one thing that stood out for me was their check-in station. I really like this check-in station. This saves the hassle of going back and forth with the receptionist. On my last visit it was odd that both me and my husband had labs done and they told my husband in another room that he has an estimated cost of $35 and he can choose to pay later and so he chose to pay later, but for me, the person assisting me told me my cost for that day was $35 and I would have to pay that before getting my blood taken. Not really sure what the policy is on that, but not too bad since it was only $35, but they said one thing to me and one thing to him. Anyway, this is the lab of choice, my favorite needle poker is April, but I haven't seen her at this site for several months now. They open early so if you're trying to get labs done before your day starts, you can guarantee this location is open early. read more

My wife is pregnant and went in for her glucose test. One of the employees told her to be there at 8:05. She got there at 8:04. She went to talk to an employee that sarcastically asked her "what time is it?" My wife said the time "8:04" and then the employee said to her rudely that she "needed to get there earlier next time so that THEY weren't waiting on her." For one, have some bedside manner I also have worked in healthcare and I understand you have to deal with people but you have no excuse. Two, you told her to be back by a certain time and she was technically early. This employee had a flower tattoo on her neck and has tattoos on her hands. Get more professional employees. It is with SUCH a heavy heart I write this review - especially since other visits to this location were quite different. But, alas, because my heart IS so heavy, I feel the necessity to share this unusual situation. As a Conservator of a severely disabled individual, it is my legal duty to ensure the care and wellbeing of this individual. This individual's physician provided a "STAT" laboratory order instructing me to have the bloodwork done immediately. Following instructions, this location was closest. Upon "checking in" and providing said paper "STAT" bloodwork order, the Labcorp employees informed that no "STAT" draws were performed at this location (Brimhall Rd) after 2 p.m. Being so stunned, I explained in detail the necessity of this bloodwork to be performed as ordered, and asked if the employee/s could phone a supervisor to get an exemption to this "rule?" Employee response was hesitant, stating "Well, I'm sure they'd say no. This is the protocol we follow..." with firmness and glare towards me. Another employee then collaborated with the first employee, stating that only the first specific test could be done "STAT" - and to come back the next morning at 6 a.m. Trying to process all this, I said "You mean to tell me that your lab protocol is adhered to above and beyond a DOCTOR'S "STAT" bloodwork order?" Their collective, emphatic answer was "YES!" Honestly, I simply could NOT believe what I heard!!!! So, would it not follow that since this lab's protocol usurps a DOCTOR'S STAT ORDER, that the lab would be held to the same legal ramifications as a DOCTOR? Would it not? What do you think???? Tell me, what do you THINK? IF your answer to this question is "YES" - then it would also follow that the lab would be committing such offenses towards patients as 1) Delay of care; 2) Not meeting Standard of Care guidelines; and 3) Violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. In my view, this corporate EDICT is TOTALLY OUT OF LINE. TOTALLY, and as such, the corporation needs (and should) be held responsible for the denial to comply with "STAT" DOCTOR'S orders since their "Protocol" carries far more weight, permitting Labcor employees to deny patients of health care. This location on Brimhall is a joke!! Our doctor faxed a request to them a week ago, called them and confirmed they received the document. When we got to Labcorp they had no idea what we were doing there. They did not have our document. We then had to make a drive to our doctor for the paperwork then drive back to Labcorp Brimhall. They refused to call our doctor to make it easier on us. If you use Labcorp, PLEASE SELECT A DIFFERENT LOCATION in Bakersfield. read more

I don't often go out of my way to leave reviews but any medical facility that is patient and non judgmental when you bring multiple children along with you deserves positive recognition. I try to do these types of things while my younger kids are in school because they can be wiggly in offices. I ended up having to bring all 3 of my kids to this appointment but I didn't once feel judged or get the feeling my two littles were a burden. The blood draw area is small but they were extremely patient and nice with all of us back there. My oldest daughter was the one getting her blood drawn and the woman drawing her blood was so sweet and calm, she made sure my daughter was comfortable and walked her through the whole process. She didn't mind when my other two kids wanted to look at what was going on, she even kindly answered questions my son asked. The check in was super easy and convenient and we got called back almost immediately. We were in and out in 10min. It was a very positive and relaxed experience. I will return to this location for future blood work. Also, for reference I did schedule an appointment online (same day) which probably made the check in and wait time run more smoothly/quickly.
