Could not have been happier. From the moment we walked through the heavy wooden door (fancy!) until we left- the host, the waitress, server, manager and even the owner were amazingly attentive and welcoming. When it's your birthday they put a nice sign at your table and everyone stops by to wish you an amazing bday. They also check in to make sure you're having a good time and enjoying your delicious meal. Now for the food: fresh, al dente and tasty. All adjectives you want running through your mind after the first bitesss. We ordered stuffed mushroom- hot and nicely seasoned. Mushrooms not overcooked and stuffing not overly cheesy. The shrimp linguine another hit with fresh tomatoes and jumbo shrimp with a nice snap. The light seasoning with lots of garlic was just perfect. We also ordered the beef short ribs. My friend said it melted on her mouth and the fresh mash potatoes- just right. Did I mention the portions were huge! Lots of goodies to take with us. To add to the dining experience we watched as patrons steadily came and went throughout the evening. You can tell this is a favorite for many. There were High-5s, handshakes and lots of "Welcome back friends!" Just an overall beautifully decked out neighborhood restaurant with so much heart and soul. I heard that the restaurant has been handed down from their grandparents... I'm sure they would be very proud. Highly recommend.

We do not frequently visit the area so we've missed it for all these years. Sadly it's a quite a drive. If it was closer, we'd come here all time. It was clearly our first time and the staff were very friendly. They answered all of our questions and concerns. We ordered $65 worth of vegan food just so we can take it back home. We sat inside and ate. The food was so good. It was flavorful and the portions they gave us were a LOT. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

Seeing my total come to 19.25 before tax made my eyes bug out. That said, we'd made the trip specifically for this place, so I was to determined to find out what made a nearly $20 combo worth it. Shop was already filled with several customers when we walked in. I'll also give them points for the cuteness factor- the counter was stocked with adorable keychains and buttons for sale, and naturally, I caved. The serving size was the classic "stuffed to the high heavens" takeout box, with everything packed in to the brim, so the portion definitely felt beyond generous. It was enough for two meals. I ordered the vegan orange chicken and vegan Mongolian beef with half fried rice and half chow mein. The orange chicken was everything I wanted it to be- tangy, sweet, crispy, and absolutely delicious. I'd gladly order this one again. The Mongolian beef, on the other hand, was unexpectedly and intensely spicy. It caught me so off guard that I lost interest halfway through and ended up leaving most of it behind. Overall, I probably wouldn't make the drive just for another takeout box unless I was seriously craving that vegan orange chicken. Even then, I might just toss some tofu in orange sauce at home and call it a day.

Probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had!…read more I'll be honest, when my husband suggested we drive 39 minutes for sandwiches, I was initially like... are we really doing this? But by the time we were leaving Uptown provisions, all I could think about was how incredibly worth the drive it was! From the moment we walked in, I loved the vibe. The space is so cool, and everyone was super welcoming. We watched a steady stream of locals come in to grab food they ordered online. You can also grab your drinks and chips from the fridge and shelves before ordering your sandwich. I ordered Tom's Way Egg Sandwich, and as someone who LOVES egg sandwiches and pastrami, I couldn't believe I'd never thought to put the two together! It comes with cheese, pickled onions, and this delicious orange sauce that isn't even mentioned in the description. The combination was SO good. I was honestly shocked by how much I loved it and would absolutely order it again and again. So glad I took a chance on something a little different! My husband got the Uptown and said the smoked turkey was so bomb. He doesn't usually even like avocado, but he was absolutely chomping away at this sandwich So I'd say that's a pretty solid endorsement! We also tried the Mela watermelon water, which was SO light, refreshing, and delicious. Definitely keeping an eye out for those cans now! Whittier is lucky to have this little gem. It seems like the locals know what's up because there was a constant flow of people coming in who clearly love this place. We got lucky with parking. We will absolutely be back again and again, and next time, I won't be questioning the 39 minute drive.

Pastrami Reuben -ratio of pastrami to sauerkraut was perfection. Pickled onions tied everything together, soo good! Only down side to my sandwich was the pastrami was pretty fibrous/stringy but it was only a couple of pieces which didn't upset me too much. Tom's Way -pretty wet sandwich but everything paired well. Flavorful and filling but doesn't leave you feeling heavy. Spicy Gabagool -the sauce they use is chef's kiss. Not so much spicy but more of a season spiced. Really wanted to try their Lemon Crumb Bars but the girl ahead of me grabbed the last one. Just an excuse to come back for more sandwiches hahhaha. Opted for a Pecan Pie Bar instead; a bit more elevated than a regular pecan bar, crispy pecan added just the right amount of texture. Loved the caramel flavor but slightly too sweet for my liking.

They have burritos, burgers, fries, nachos, and tacos with some dessert options. I'm glad there's a Mexican food place for vegetarians bc I feel bad they my gf has limited choices at most Mexican restaurants that don't have a good protein base. One girl here was awesome- so nice and sweet and worked hard to keep the restaurant clean. And was sooo attentive when we had questions or needed anything. The girl taking our order was okay..not helpful as it was our first time here. I got the mexgogi burrito. I Was really excited to try a vegan Korean fusion burrito....buuuut... Was really disappointed...lacked flavor. I didn't even taste a lot of the ingredients and it was a tad dry. The green salsa they serve on the side helped give it some flavor. The bulgogi was tasty but since the pieces were so small, the bland rice and beans took over. Total bummer. I did taste the jalapeño but not a ton of siracha eel sauce or cucumbers. (I forgot cucumbers were even in it...) Seats aren't all that comfy...soo prolly best to get it to go. If give it another shot...just order something else.

I'm not a fan of pork, so I love that they have beef options for things such as bacon. This is probably the most authentic deep dish pizza that you're gonna find in Los Angeles. They have so many crazy flavors like Carne Asada and Mediterranean and all of them are amazing. However, my favorite is the supreme, which is packed with loads of cheese, sauce, and plenty of meat. It's about $25 for a small pizza with four slices however it is extremely filling. I was initially unsure about the prices, but once I tried the pizza I was convinced that it was worth it. The downside is that this place shares a small lot with 2 other businesses. If you're planning on coming, make sure to account for time to find parking. Also, it takes time to make a deep dish pizza so order at least 25 minutes in advance.
