LA VETTA -- An absolute dream of a dinner.
There are meals you enjoy... and then there are meals you're still talking about on the drive home. La Vetta is the latter.
From the moment we arrived, the experience felt special. The host welcomed us with genuine warmth, the room had that effortlessly chic energy, and the service was spot on. Attentive, knowledgeable, warm and never intrusive. Every dish was thoughtfully explained, the pacing was perfect, and you could feel how much pride the entire team has in what they're creating.
And the food? Absolutely stunning.
We started with Pane e Burro--a beautiful bread selection paired with golden onion butter. I'm just going to say it: do not underestimate the bread. That onion butter was next-level.
Then came Pomodori, Anguria e Burrata--heirloom tomatoes, watermelon, burrata and fresh herbs. Sweet, creamy, bright and incredibly fresh. A gorgeous dish that tasted like summer on a plate.
The Tonno was pure elegance: bluefin tuna, tomato ponzu, chives and black truffle. Delicate but incredibly flavorful, with that little hit of truffle that took it somewhere completely unexpected.
Then the indulgence really kicked in with the Tartare di Manzo in Salsa Verde e Ossobuco--beef tenderloin tartare, green sauce, Pecorino Romano and bone marrow. Rich, savory, luxurious... basically everything I want in a dish when I'm going out to really eat.
The Merluzzo al Nero was one of my favorites of the night. Black cod confit, Mediterranean dashi and panzanella. The cod was impossibly tender, and that dashi was the kind of sauce you find yourself trying to get every last drop of.
And then... the Wagyu.
The Tagliata di Manzo featured 4 oz of A5 Miyazaki Wagyu with carrots, leek and an Amarone red wine sauce. That steak was ridiculously tender and rich, and the Amarone sauce brought everything together beautifully. Small portion, BIG impression.
Meanwhile, our guests ordered the Cacio e Pepe Scampi e Lime and Ravioli di Genovese--and suddenly I was very interested in making new friends.
The Cacio e Pepe with Argentine red shrimp and lime looked absolutely incredible, while the Genovese ravioli with Parmesan fondue and caramelized onion juice smelled insane. The kind of dishes that make you immediately start planning your next visit.
And yes... save room for dessert. The tiramisù was the perfect finale; creamy, delicate, rich and beautifully balanced with that classic coffee flavor. Basically, the only acceptable ending to a meal this good.
What I loved most about La Vetta is that nothing felt accidental. The ingredients, plating, flavors, service, timing, even the little details all felt incredibly intentional.
It's elevated without being pretentious. Beautiful without feeling stuffy. And the food manages to be sophisticated while still making you want to close your eyes after the first bite.
La Vetta is officially on my "go back immediately" list.
