This store needs to hire better sales ppl. There was an older woman on Tuesday in the Furniture area and she is was delightful. She is always nice but what is going on hiring these younger ladies that seem to have no social skills. On Saturday my friend and I were waiting for a dressing room and two sales ladies walk by giving us dirty looks. Tuesday I was with my daughter and they just gave her dirty looks also. I was told they didn't have any and wouldn't for several months. I then asked if I could be measured to at least get a sense of my size for future reference, but was told they don't measure because "all hats are different." I also asked about the possibility of ordering one, but received the same response that nothing would be available for months. I understand that inventory can be limited, especially for popular styles and larger sizes. That part didn't bother me. What was surprising was the lack of engagement--no sizing, no discussion of fit, and no guidance on ordering or alternatives. Given Paris Hatters' long-standing reputation in San Antonio, I was expecting a more hands-on and informative experience. This felt more like a quick dismissal than a customer interaction. I may try again another time, but this visit didn't reflect the level of service I had heard so much about.

Please Read Before Accepting Black Box Prize Gift Cards at Bargain Depot on Goliad Road…read more (San Antonio Shoppers) I want to share my recent experience so no one else runs into the same problem. Nov 14, 2025, I won a $50 Google Play gift card at Bargain Depot, but had to pay $6 because the card came in a "$6 day" black box. I gave it to my son as a birthday gift. When he tried to redeem it, he found out from Google Play that the card was never activated at the store. Gift card activation is something only the store can do at the register. I went back today, Dec 11, 2025, with the physical card in perfect condition. Instead of helping, I was told: "Too much time passed." "We can't do anything about the card." "No one else has had this issue, only you." "We don't know what you did with the card." Not only did they refuse to activate the card or refund the $6 fee, they shifted the blame onto me -- even though activation is 100% the store's responsibility. The card is unexpired, unused, and clearly not activated. The store has complete transactional documentation and photos. Just a warning for others: If you receive or "win" any gift card in a Bargain Depot black box, make sure the store activates it before you leave. If there's an issue later, you may not receive any help from them. Sharing this so others can avoid the same frustration.
