I've ig-Nord this department store for long enough, and now that Barbie has been dragging me in the smaller, cheaper, trendier version "The Rack", I've come to appreciate them a little, but not too much. Nordstrom Rack actually has cheaper stuff than a lot of places do, and a lot of people think. Definitely cheaper than Nordstrom itself, and some more trendy stuff in here as well. I guess the problem is that it's really not that cheap compared to a discount store, so it's kind of halfway between Nordstrom and Marshall's, but closer to the Nordstrom end of the spectrum and that creates a problem. Because if you're a discount shopper you might not come here and if you're Nordstrom Shopper, why not just go to Nordstrom because you can obviously afford it. Nevertheless they do pretty well and they have a beautiful backdrop and one of the best malls in the country - at Alamo Quarry with massive Smokestacks that tower over the whole place and it's absolutely gorgeous and if you haven't shopped here and you're anywhere near San Antonio then you should definitely try it out. read more

For online pickup orders you shouldn't have to stand in a very long line. They used to have exclusive line for pickup. Also the bathroom was filthy and the paper towel dispenser was empty but they put a large roll on the sink and it's getting wet and gross. Went to the store this past Saturday and asked the manager on shift a question. Sad to say she was very rude and recoupment she take Customer service training. Her facial expression, tone of voice and overall demeanor was very pleasant. The cashier working was much more professional and friendly.....she even gave me an apologetic look due to manager's attitude. I enjoy coming here to look for deals on premium items. They often have a great clearance section or an extra 20% off sale items during end of season. They have a great selection of purses from Kate Spade, Coach, even Marc Jacobs! They have new shipments every week, so there's plenty of variety. I've picked up a pair of Stuart Weitzman for less than $80 on a good day. They also have a great selection of make up and facial area products along with perfume and cologne. They carry Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, Laura Mercier and sometimes Smashbox and other brands. I've scored pallets for under $20 at 50% off. I wouldn't say you'll find a treasure there every time, but it's definitely fun to look! They have men's wear downstairs and ladies and shoes upstairs with an escalator. read more

I really like shopping at the rack. This location has some good stuff, I just wish they had a bigger selection of men's stuff. I usually find great deals on shoes and clothes. Happy wife happy life. My wife loves this place with their sales and selection. Had some great discounts on suits, sports jackets, and shirts that I needed for an upcoming work event. Plenty of staff that were available to assist if you wanted, but weren't hovering like some other stores do. Plenty of parking and other places to shop in the area to keep you busy for the day. read more

This place has a lousy men's section. Not much to it. Who needs so many pocket squares?! This place is not really for guys. It seems like it's just stuff that women pick up for men. The store is clean, and parking is easy. It used to be a bookstore, but they've revamped it into this. The stuff they sell seems to be priced right, but there's just not much for men. read more

Came to return a pair of shoes new with tags and a receipt (NEVER WORN) and they said no. Wouldn't even give store credit or exchange and then asked if I still wanted to purchase what I had umm no not now or for a very long. Will not be shopping here. So many places will accept items back with/without receipt and give store credit which I am fine with but this place nope. Came here with my kids. Needed help while navigating through the store not to mention, The shoes were a disaster. Eventually I found the "Customer Service Rep." (Elizabeth) who was Very rude and unprofessional when I addressed my questions about a product. She goes on to flirting and touching with other male Associates around store Instead of putting the customer first. Totally better than the Rim location, in my opinion. Maybe the crowds were crazier when it first opened, but I went on a Sunday and had plenty of wiggle room to get my shop on. So much so, in fact, that they finally talked me into a Nordie's card. I mean, I might as well get rewards if they're taking all my money, right? The shoe section is impressive - way more than the other location and even better than any other discount shoe store I've found in San Antonio. If you're a size 10 like me, you'll find plenty of trendy things for your feet! The selection might not seem as vast as the other location, but personally, I don't like having to sort through a bunch of crap to find what I want. Blah! This is a poor use of great Quarry Market space. They've taken what was once a massively huge book store and turned into a cramped, mediocre at best, store. The men's section is pretty tiny and has only a small handful of offerings. Staff was friendly and ready to help but sadly there was just nothing there for them to help me with. I suppose I came here with higher expectations. I expected it to be way bigger. With at least some wiggle room to search at least? People were walking over me as I was kneeled over looking through some necklaces. The selection was limited but the prices were good. Half the selection of the one at the Rim shopping center but oddly enough, I have found more of my favorite finds at this location. Always great prices on my fav Joes and Paige Denim jeans, Tory Burch shoes, and watches. I rarely find nice shirts. Overkill on Michael Kors at this one; MK is for teeny boppers and I need more professional work clothes and shoes. Don't usually find bags I like, depends on what designer you're looking for, but occasionally you catch a Dooney haul. Perfumes, nail polish, and jewelry prices aren't that much better than regular stores. Sunglasses options are good, though I prefer Saks Off Fifth for those. Rack does have GREAT prices on Toms, which makes me happy since I spend so much time stuffed into work shoes and spend my weekends letting my feet stretch out in comfy slip-ons. 4 stars for amazing shoe aisles at all Rack stores! Missed 1 star because it's notable that I've never had a great example of customer service at this store. Always just to the point sales transaction and never anyone overly helpful. Rating system: 5 stars = I'll drive across town specifically for this, and rave to all my friends about it! 4 stars = Would recommend visiting. 3 stars = Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars = You might be able to drag me here. 1 star = I will not be returning. read more

I'm so thrilled this is close and I don't have to force myself to avoid it!! Spent years in Las Vegas suffering every uncomfortable moment I tried to go to Rack, this location is a breath of fresh, clean air. I go on weekdays and it's quiet, and parking is not a pain in my ... Best part about this store is that it's clean and organized. The staff keeps up with it, and that is very refreshing. I was helped in the dressing room, and they were clean as well. The casual women's selection is decent, I always find something (or too many something's). Shoe section is pretty good. I wish they had more business casual, love the Vince Camuto steals I can find here for work. My only complaint is the men's section. It's sparse, mostly collared, button down shirts. Meh. I heard a lot of not so complimentary things about this spot, but I came here anyway. I shopped their purses, undergarments, sunglasses, upstairs clearance racks and was pretty impressed. The shoes didn't impress me. I just don't get some styles these days. It definitely doesn't have home accents or children's clothes. Its strictly women's and Men's only. The staff was super helpful. Just went here over the weekend for the first time. This is a pretty good one, although a little small. Prices on the clothes are good...I was just at SteinMart a few blocks away and the Rack had the exact sames dresses in some cases but for $39.99 instead of $49.99 like at Steinmart. This location lacks a large selection because of the small space. Now that I'm thinking about it, not sure if they even had children's clothing, only men and women's. Also, nothing really in terms of home goods and very small accessories section. Last time I ever shop at a Nordstrom store. I gave a shirt as a gift to my father. Although it has been awhile, he didn't like the shirt bc it didn't fit right, so he recently gave it back to me to return. I live long distance so the return timing wasnt the best. However, I brought it back to the store with all tags on and receipt in hand. They refused to even give me store credit. The manager just kept offering me a plastic bag for some reason. In this day in age that is unacceptable customer satisfaction. I'll stick with the friendly TJ Maxx and Marshalls in my area. Nordstrom you can keep your plastic bag. if I could give less than 1 star, I would. Today when I was at the Nordstrom Rack at the Rim-to have my 11 year old pick out a gift for her uncle- she was being difficult and didn't want to. So as I was giving her a lecture on how you have to care about gifting to others and not just getting things for yourself THE CASHIER TOOK IT UPON HERSELF TO CORRECT MY PARENTING- and told me to "stop talking" to my child and to "give her a break". After I very abruptly told her she was out of line and to not interfere with my parenting and to just do her job,check me out and then take my payment for my $300+ purchase- I requested to speak with a manager, after two employees who were in fact not managers tried to come and get me to leave the store quietly rather than allow me to file a complaint for YOUR employees totally lack of respect and completely overstepping. Finally when the new store manager showed up, she apologized for the employee- but still no. Not enough. I was not happy with that- Your employee was YELLING with me in front of 50+ people in line. I then told the manager I wanted an apology from the disrespectful and out of line cashier- in front of my daughter when she asked how she could fix the situation. She said she understood and would go get her to have her give me one. Okay-After waiting for 15+ minutes for them to convince the cashier to come out and apologize, She then proceeded to apologize to me "for how I feel" literally she said "I'm sorry you feel that way". Excuse me?! Is this how you train your employees to treat your customers? This is completely disgusting behavior for a store of your caliber. Do better Nordstrom. I am disgusted with the customer service I received and I have been a customer with your company since you first opened this store in San Antonio. Not only did your cashier embarrass herself, my daughter, and me and MY WIFE. She made your store look beyond deplorable. Do not shop at this store. If I could rate this 0 stars I would, they don't even deserve a star for the poor excuse of "customer service" I just received. I bought a t shirt on tax free weekend as a gift. I failed to realize that in the shirt there was a hole over an inch wide. I went back the following Wednesday and wanted to do an even exchange. They told me I would have to pay the tax difference since it isn't tax free weekend anymore. I find it ridiculous that I would have to pay for a damaged product they sold me. I am a loyal Nordstrom shopper. I go here to find myself cheap but fashionable clothes for work and for play. Today i was successful in finding work shoes. Coach loafers for $49!! Previously were $195. I feel like i got a good deal. I love it when they have a sale on clearance items. I RACK UP! Literally.... LOL...But i got some jeans from my fave place. My only pet peeve is the lack of associates on the registers during events and on the weekends. They know there is gonna be alot of traffic but don't put people there to help out.
