Well went here expecting to buy authentic crafts made in Mexico . I got this Day Of The Dead candle holders that was behind a display case so never handled it before purchasing. I got it home and there on the bottom is a made in China sticker! Are you f'n kidding me ,lol seriously what the hell? We did the Museum tour which was cool but knowing what I know now probably should have just gone to China to see. This is my new favorite store in San Antonio (sorry HEB). Fiesta on Main is everything Fiesta and more! I came here because my esposo and I made a small Altar de Muertos in my house and was missing the calaveritas aka. sugar skulls. I called the store before heading there just to make sure they had them. When we arrived to the store I honestly didn't know what to expect. I thought Fiesta on Main was going to be like one of those small and expensive Mexican stores that are at Market Square or La Villita, but I wrong! Fiesta on Main is my childhood in one place! The place is huge and has multiple rooms, each one with a different theme. There is one room just for catholic stuff, like gifts for baptism, first communion, etc. Then there's a room just for Dia de Muertos, where you can find Catrinas, flores de papel, and everything you need for your Altar de Muertos. There's also a third room that's basically for any Mexican holiday; they have Mexican flags of all sizes, sombreros, pinatas, etc. They also have a room filled with affordable and beautiful Mexican pottery, and stuff for your home, etc. Anyway, I am not going to mention everything they have because if I did this review would be 10 pages long. What y'all need to know is that this place is amazing and magical. Their prices are right and reflect the work of the product. They don't overprice their products like they do at some stores in downtown. I can't wait to go back to Fiesta on Main and buy something else for my home or for a party. read more

A fantastic place to decorate on a budget. Trendy places will charge you $100 and up for a nice print. In my yuppie phase expensive prints were no big deal-here you can get a nice small Mexican themed painting for $14. There's a vast collection of handmade pottery, plates, cups, paper flowers, paper sculptures, calaveras, and other hand crafted articles. Service is excellent, helpful, and friendly. read more

Fiesta on Main is modern day fiesta sanctuary. This place carries fiesta items for cheaper with great service and it also feels like a museum. You can find fiesta decorations and dresses to Loteria shirts for ten dollars! I got the official fiesta shirt for 17 and a Luna shirt for ten. The fiesta Sashes rang from 5 bucks and up but most inexpensive in city. I love how their bathrooms are clean and open to use for patrons. As you walk around look at the amazing wreaths! read more

Huge, the biggest, assortment of Mexican imports, arts & crafts in San Antonio! Excellent prices, especially on their fiesta themed articles and Day of the Dead items. They carry everything from decorations to wreaths, Mexican dresses, blouses, and lots of folk art. I've been to other Mexican import shops in SA and this one is by far, the largest & the most reasonable. And their staff is so friendly & knowledgeable. Oh, and there's a Day of the Dead museum onsite but there is an admission to enter it. read more

Cholos and gringos unite! This place is simply outstanding. Just being here made me wish I had grown up in Mexico City. But then, you know, got out before all the gangs and drugs moved in. Although if Pablo Escobar were still around, I can assure you he would have plenty of stuff shipped in from Alamo Fiesta for birthday parties or anniversary parties for his henchman. "Congrats on another year of coke mule-ing and gunning down my enemies. Now whack this AMAZING donkey pinata!" My fiancee and I essentially purchased the entirety of our wedding decor from Alamo Fiesta. All of the staff members were extremely helpful in navigating their massive selection of just about anything that is or could be Mexico-themed. The prices are a fraction of what you would pay at an imports store in Austin, making it well worth a 2 hour round trip. It is also much more than just a party supply store; they also had a lot of wonderful art and other decorative pieces. It's fun just walking around and seeing the selection, so even if you aren't planning a henchman's anniversary party I still recommend stopping in for a look around. read more

LOVE this store! They've got so many little trinkets everywhere! The walls are covered with piñatas, streamers, wreaths, dia de los muertos statues, colorful flowers, and a whole lot more! DON'T be foolish and buy your Fiesta stuff at Wal-Mart, everything there is overpriced by at least $2 if not more. There is sure to be something for everybody. Think you might not find something you like? Wrong! It's not just Fiesta stuff, there are at least 3 or 4 different areas just jam-packed with stuff. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. It can get a little cramped in there. What a beautiful store, can't believe I've passed by so many times and never been inside. Fiesta awaits you, anytime of year, my friends. In the past, I've only visited this store around Fiesta time for party supplies and such, but recently needed a Mexican dress as a gift. One thing I know, they stock up on inventory around Fiesta and are lacking in other times of the year. The selection wasn't quite there in July the way it is in March and April. Parking options can be scant, so try to go during work hours on a week day if you can. Also, walkways are narrow and precarious inside, so the less crowded while you're there, the better. Wreaths, dresses, tote bags, shirts, hair pieces, artwork for the wall, cascarones, Mexican candies, candles, pots for plants, glassware for the home, the list goes on. Why why why have I never gone into this place before?! I have been eyeing it for about a year anytime my partner drags me to Hogwild to flip through records. Let me just say that I am dying to come back at Halloween. I had gone to another place in town that was Fiesta-y around Fiesta time and was really disappointed with all the cheap junk.... here is where the treasure lies! It seems that most (if not all) of there items are hand crafted in Mexico. From pinata's to sugar skulls to pottery to jewelry... this place has it all and it's not cheap plastic junk. This is such a gem of a store! It has everything you would find downtown at the mercado or boutique, in the convenience of a great central location! The walls are covered with trinkets, mirrors, ornaments, banners and pictures, but the best is the rooms full of guayaberas and Mexican embroidered blouses! Fiesta on Main (also known as Alamo Fiesta) is a great place to buy your fiesta supplies. I recently came when fiesta was just starting. I bought an El Boracho loteria shirt for a family member, clavel corto redondo blouse, and a fiesta medal to add to my medal collection. The walls are covered with Mexican imported items such as guayaberas, women's blouses, flower paper crowns, kids clothes, backyard items the list goes on. However watch your step when you are walking it's easy to trip and fall, floors are uneven. The lines are very long especially during fiesta season. Forget Disneyland, this store may be the happiest place on earth. When you walk in, it can be a bit overwhelming, as every imaginable inch of this space is stuffed with amazing finds. There are several rooms in the house-turned-shop, so walk through it all and when you think you've seen everything, head outside to find the really good stuff. I've had the pleasure of shopping here many, many times during my tenure in San Antonio. I visited years ago for the first time during Fiesta to pick up some paper flowers to use on a wreath for my door. I left with my arms full of paper flowers, Mexican dresses, gorgeous handmade blankets from all over Central America, ornaments, and other crazy fun Fiesta decorations. And if you're not into do-it-yourself, you can get pre-made wreaths and other Fiesta decorations to make your house as colorful as possible. But don't just come during Fiesta. I've decorated everything from birthday parties to wedding rehearsal dinners with the great stuff you'll find in here. And, the service is awesome. They are always helpful, have great ideas and though some of the employees don't seem to speak a lot of English, they are patient and helpful even while dealing with my horrible, broken Spanish. If you are throwing a party or have out of town guests you MUST swing by Fiesta on Main. This store is simply awesome. The building is a two story home with a large courtyard and another building attached. The walls are covered floor to ceiling with decorations, blankets, embroidered blouses, table runners, alamo shaped ornaments, baskets...literally everything you could want. The store will even make custom pinatas for you! Best part is that the store is affordable and filled with bright colors. It's impossible to leave without feeling a little happier. read more

Fiesta is nearing and I can't think of a better place to get ready for it, but Alamo on Main has such a great selection that it's a wonderful place to shop year round. The main house has dishware, beautiful tablecloths, party decor, a wall covered in unique and festive crosses, and a back room with clothing. As my son grows this is a mainstay for finding guayaberas in all different colors. During fiesta cascarones can be bought by the dozen. If you need a pinata ask the staff to open a shed in the back that has just about every character you can think of. The prices have gone up over the years, but I'm sure the cost of transporting goods along with rent in the neighborhood have gone up so understandable. I'm not trying to knock downtown market stores, but Alamo has a less touristy vibe and friendlier staff. Parking can be a bit tricky if its crowded, but its worth it for the shopping. read more

Terrible customer service via the web. My email to the store manager below.. Hi Luis, I have to be honest- I am amazed at how this could have happened. I spoke with two of your salespeople, one being Berta, who assured me if I made the order on Monday I would receive it Thursday in time for my son's party on Saturday. I explained that this was extremely time sensitive. I made the order and did not hear anything, and could not access any tracking numbers via your website or your confirmation emails. By Friday, when I still hadn't received anything, I called Berta to ask for tracking information. After a while, she came back to the phone and said the order was shipped Thursday "because we were too busy". REALLY? Why hadn't anyone called and told me this could not be shipped, or moreover why was this even shipped if I made it very clear that my party was for Saturday. With this kind of customer service, I am amzed you stay in business. It truly is too bad that this is how you operate, as you do have the best fiesta-themed items on the web. Thankfully, I live in Manhattan and have access to things, I had to rush Friday afternoon searching for items all around and it backed up all the rest of my plans and made the planning very strressful. Something you should also know- when I landed in a wonderful Mexican folk art space in lower Manhattan, I explained my situation to the shop owner and she said she had customers of ALAMO FIESTA come in before, with urgent needs because your company had done the same to them. One of them had a wedding. I NEVER write these kind of emails, I am simply too busy and don't normally complain but you definitely need to know the level of customer service you have and the inconvenience you have caused me with your lack of attention. I've been coming to this store for years and love to look and purchase Dia de los Muertos items that they carry. They carry a lot of unique items for this holiday and I noticed that they had a bolt of plastic fabric w the Dia de los Muertos theme to it so I asked them to cut about 2 feet for me. The guy started to cut the plastic then had another employee finish it. Well they cut it crooked even though I specified where to cut it but I thought I could work around it so I took it. Then at the register instead of the 1.98 a foot price she was charging 2.98 instead, when I objected the clerk said no that's for the other designs. Well then they should put up another sign. But ok fine charge me the 2.98 for the crooked plastic but then she wanted to charge me for 3 feet instead of the two and they didn't even measure it! That's when I said "Whoa, that's enough." The clerk reexamined the plastic and then charged me for 2.1 feet without measuring it. I felt like they were trying to nickel and dime me. And that wasn't the only item I was purchasing. This visit was the rudest service I've ever had here. I will probably still come back another time but I would advise before making any purchases to check the price w the clerk before they ring it up and if you're buying any plastic fabric be sure they cut it right and you know the price before you get a surprise upcharge.
