Was invited to the Beauty Trend Event, the Skinfluence Festival last Friday, March 13 from 5-8pm. Holly Hoffman, the Store Administrator informed me of this specific event and Kay Soria had notified me of the 15% off Beauty sale from March 9-March 15, 2026. I RSVP'd and attended the festive event. I checked in and received a raffle ticket. You could see how they cordoned off the Beauty section as only guests w/RSVPs were allowed in the event. I could see different sections where they had demos for makeup, hair, skin, eyebrows, skincare and perfume. Angel saw me looking towards the first stop which featured Concealers and Setting Sprays by MAC & Charlotte Tillbury. She assisted me then passed me off to Lauren who helped apply some products and give tips. I showed her a list of my makeup which she had some in stock but had to ship others. When Lauren was applying my makeup, Angel was so sweet and brought me a Margie when I said "I should have a drink!" Lauren did great as she had to color-match me from several lines. She helped me find some products. Jordan from MAC came by and suggested a hydrating spray and the order of applying skincare since she said she was an Esthetician. She was bubbly, friendly, helpful and very positive! She was even giving me hugs & high fives! Now that's the Nordstrom service I'm used to! They had a DJ, Cotton Candy Margaritas, Bottled Water, Coca Cola, Charcuterie Bites, a cheesy Mac n Cheese type of dish and festive cake bites. I went to the Jo Malone section and a rep showed some fragrances. The DJ music was so loud so I walked out to get another drink and bites and came back to the Lancome station looking for a product and was helped by a woman holding raffle tickets. The main rep was busy so she helped shade-match me. I had to order online since that product was out of stock. Then she walked me towards the fragrance section. Another rep helped me as I was looking for Jasmine scents. She offered Diptyquem, Gucci, Good Girl Jasmine & Tom Ford's Jasmine. They didn't have samples for Good Girl & Tom Ford so she said to check Sephora. While checking out the scents, I heard my name being called for the raffle so I excitedly showed up to get my prize! Yay!! I went back to the fragrance rep and asked her about the Estee Lauder perfumes so she walked with me there. I was interested in a Gardenia scent so I asked if I could have a sample? She said sure and walked away. I sat for awhile waiting for her until the Estee Lauder rep told me she thinks she ended her shift?? The rep made me a sample. I thought that was inconsiderate and just a "Someone will help you momentarily..." or something to that effect would've been nice. Usually Nordstrom reps are mindful and respectful of my time. At least the Estee Lauder rep followed thru. The Beauty Trend Event was nice on a Friday evening as they're usually on a Saturday when everyone's shopping and it can get quite hectic. It was a pretty fun event and the theme of raffle stations where you can try different products was a great idea. I hope someone sends me a list of demos next time so I can prepare and check out products and reviews ahead of time. I like the convenience of being able to pick up items at Nordstrom Rack since there's one near me vs. driving all the way to Nordstrom La Cantera. read more

I wish I could give no stars as their security agents and certain employees in store ( especially management ) are literally unsafe, dangerous and hell of bullies. These security males have no balls to stand up and do what is right and their management ( female ones) suck . They get bored and start tripping on innocent customers when they do not have any thing better to do. I wish the company will fire them all and do an extensive checking and training first before hiring security . The ones they currently have now are dangerous because they falsely accuse ( their own attitude they think is being done by customers ) and not to mention very unkind and not good looking at all lol . Their faces resembles their dark deeds . Don't shop here, they literally suck in customer service . They sell used items . Shows no class . read more

Did you know Nordstrom's offers personal assistants to help with your shopping needs? My go to associate Casey is amazing!! She helped me find the perfect pair of beautiful hoop earrings. I also wanted to attend the beauty bash event today but I was a little early for the festivities. I still got to celebrate though as my new beauty consultant Letty gave me the most amazing make up tutorial and reviewed the Sisley product line in detail. It's worth the drive to go out and see how they can assist you. They are the best! read more

Sophie at Nordstroms La Cantera saved my mother's life! She is in her 90s and on oxygen. When shopping at Nordstroms her battery went out and she could not get enough oxygen to take elevator down to her car. Sophie ran to get a wheelchair swiftly and took my mom down to her car to get portable machine plugged in quickly. Mom is doing well! Without Nordstrom investing in wheelchairs and Sophie jumping into action, we may have had a different outcome. Thank you Sophie and Nordstroms! 5/5 Stars!! read more

Haven't been inside a Nordstrom in a couple of years and used to go often. Their previous customer service was amazing and always would shop in their shoe dept. Today I visited and so many of the clothes I inspected were dirty (Nike, Travis Mathew, Zella). The presentation was poor overall. I inquired about a running shoe and had to wait to find a salesperson. They were likely in their twenties and more interested in gossiping with their fellow employee. They didn't have my size and the sale ended there. No "let me check another store", "Let me check online". Nothing. Well, I just went online and they have all sizes in stock. I won't be ordering through Nordstrom however due to poor customer service and will take my money directly to the manufacturer. Super sad that customer service and attention to quality has really gone downhill recently. read more

I have been a cardholder at Nordstrom since the 1980s. Always top-notch customer service, but sadly not anymore. This location does not have many items, just the bare minimum, much more online. Also, the monthly interest rate on a Nordstrom card was hiked to 33-34%. As a long-time cardholder, I think this is robbery. read more

While I normally find no faults with Nordstrom, I had a couple less-than-stellar experiences at this location. Given that it is also located at the Shops at La Cantera, where several luxury stores reside, I assumed that the level of customer service would match that of the nearby stores since Nordstrom is considered a higher-end department store. Had this location been my first experience of Nordstrom in general, I would have been deterred from ever returning or purchasing anything from them in the future. The first time I experienced questionable customer service was when I came here to return an item that I purchased online. It was a set of socks that were low-cut, (instead of ultra low-cut, as I had assumed they were when ordering). The employee who helped me was very unprofessional and said "you're returning just this?" in an annoyed tone, as if I was bothering her for wanting to return something that in her eyes wasn't worth a trip to the store. I was taken aback by her attitude but kept it polite because everyone has their off-days. The return was processed quickly, and the employee was able to get back to browsing on her phone. The second time I came to get my boyfriend's brand new watch resized (which I had also purchased online), and the initial employee (who was working in the jewelry/watch area) became very flustered after he couldn't undo the links of the watch at the 7-minute mark of attempting to do so. I could tell that he didn't know what to do next after hammering away at the pins with only one successful pin out. Instead of calling over a manager sooner and asking for help, he continued his attempt with the other pins for another 5 minutes until he probably realized that he risked breaking the watch links. He then scurried away and fetched a manager, who was much more knowledgeable and able to undo the links in a couple of minutes. The manager was wonderful and explained that the pins were screwed in, which was why the first employee couldn't get them out. (I was surprised that the initial employee got even one of the pins out, which means that he definitely stripped the screw on that particular pin. It was lucky that the watch wasn't damaged in the process.) Said employee also never returned after fetching the manager, and the manager had to apologize on his behalf for the drawn out process. While Nordstrom offers free watch resizing on watches purchased from them, I'm now more inclined to buy a resizing kit and do the resizing myself at home. The employees clearly know as much as I do about watches. This wasn't my first time getting a watch resized at Nordstrom, but it certainly will be my last. I'll continue buying items online from Nordstrom, but I will definitely avoid interacting with any of the employees here since they bring the overall experience at Nordstrom way down. read more

This like the Montgomery Ward of Nordstroms. There's little to no selection of shoes and the women's clothing sectionis completely disjointed. Every time I go in there looking for anything, they don't have it. There's a wide variety of makeup right next to an abysmal selection of footwear. Even the sales staff leaves much to be desired. They never greet me unless I'm walking around with a shoe that may lead to a commission. I'd rather make the drive up to Austin, which is a shame because this store can become as good, if not better. It's almost as if this location is here just so Nordstrom can say they're in another major city. read more

First of all, I HATE going to any mall, and avoid going when possible. I would normally order several sizes online and just mail back whatever didn't work. However, I saw this location had some Peter Millar options and since I happened to be driving by I stopped in. Within a couple of minutes Rebecca saw me looking through some pants and offered her help. She quickly determined my size based on what I normally wear and found a pair for me to try on. She was correct that I needed to go one size up with the pants as they run small. She also was able to find an additional color in the back that I bought as well. The only downside was the lack of options and sizes for Millar and other brands like Travis Mathew and Bonobos. If they had them in stock I would have bought more items since I was there. I was just in the mens shoe section looking at shoes. There were 3 sales associates behind the counter and not one of them approached me to ask if I needed help and not another customer in the area. This is my happy place. This is where I go when I'm feeling down or sad. They have all the things I need (and don't need). The employees are courteous and good at their jobs. I'm basic AF so this store is my jam. If you like Nordstrom- you'll enjoy this store period, the employees always tell me how cute I look and honestly I'd come just for that. They're not reinventing the wheel here, it's just good, clean shopping! read more

Called last week for help finding my husband a sport coat for our 1st anniversary. I could NOT believe how I was treated!! The first person to answer my call sounded asleep, which I found bizarre. Then, once directed to the men's dress apparel dept, I was told such as "ugh, can you just wait a minute?!". I work in an ER, I get busy, but I also understand the importance of being nice to customers! What made it even better, was I contacted the dept again the very next day to speak with a manager. I was told she was gone to lunch at around 2p, and that she would call me right back when she got back in. A week later, no call. After all the $$$$ I've spent at this place, and the expectation for quality customer service, I am so disappointed!! Looks like I will be cashing out at Brooks Bros for my hubby's new coat. read more

I've been a Nordstrom fan for a while now (one of the only places that has size 4-4.5 shoes for my tiny feet!) and today I encountered my first, first world problem with them. I had clothing alterations done but when I went to pick up my things one item wasn't ready as scheduled but I didn't need it immediately so left with the items that were ready. I went back the next evening after receiving a text the last item was done. Doors locked and store seemed closed. Frustrated I left and tried again today after calling the store to confirm they open at 10. 1030am I roll up and doors are locked again so I call, speak to Will, and explain it was my 2nd time trying to get my things but doors are locked. I hear him ask other employees why the doors are locked when they are open then asks me to to drive to the doors he's at and he will bring my clothing out to me. THAT right there is simple but effective customer service. Again this is a FIRST WORLD PROBLEM, but I appreciate Will going that extra step when he didn't have to bc that wasn't his department or job. I asked for his name bc I wanted him to be recognized and to say THANK YOU for being so sweet. Next time I'll make sure to try the Northside doors Will!! read more

He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! We are new parents and we greatly appreciated Jeremy's expertise today. We had a terrible experience at this Nordstrom (La Cantera). We bought a $650 dlls item 3 weeks in advance in the store; they told us that the item was expected to arrive on December 19th; we showed up on the 23th, only to find out that they sold our item to someone else, even though they had taken our money 3 weeks before. This obviously made us very upset, and while we were complaining they called security on us (they did not want other customers to find out what was going on). When security arrived, they started yelling at us in a very threatening manner, like if we were the ones who did something wrong. They even tried to kick us out from the mall, but we called 911 on them. The store's assitant manager showed zero interest in customer service. They basically stole from us. I am never coming back to this store, and I strongly encourage other customers to go shop somewhere else. read more

I don't shop at Nordstrom very often (I'm more of a Nordstrom Rack kind of girl) but recently I've experienced some disappointing customer service that just doesn't resonate with Nordstrom's reputation. A couple of weeks ago I came into Nordstrom to browse with some friends when I found a pretty scarf in the accessories section. I was mulling over whether or not to buy it when a sales associate approached me and asked if I needed any help. When I said that I was still deciding, she very blatantly rolled her eyes at me and began to straighten all of the scarves on the table that I was in front of, all the while sighing at me and mumbling under her breath. Rude. On the same occasion we walked over to the cosmetics section where Clinique was having their gift time. All of the Clinique associates were busy so I asked a woman at one of the other counters if she would just be able to ring up my purchase and she just stared at me and then WALKED away. No "sorry I can't help you" or any acknowledgement that I even existed. Later I saw her stop to help two women who came up to the Clinique counter (after I got there) and ask "Can I help you ladies with anything?". Wow. We ended up leaving without buying anything. read more

When did I become the duchess of this Nordie?! All right all right, it's time to write them a review! I have always loved Nordstrom for two reasons: 1) they have the BEST customer service! I once heard a story about someone returning a used tire to a local Nordstrom. Apparently he didn't buy that tire there b/c Nordstrom doesn't sell tires!!! Regardless they let him return it b/c they wanted to make their customers happy. Not sure if this was true or not but I do know Nordstrom has the most liberal return policy. If you don't like something you bought, no problem! Just bring it back! I always order things from nordstrom.com and sometimes they don't work out. When I took them to the store, I never had any problems at all! 2) they offer women dress shoes that are smaller than a size 5. And you can't find that at any other department stores such as Neiman Marcus, etc. I wear 4-4.5 and it's impossible for me to buy dress shoes. But I have bought several pairs of size 4 shoe from nordies before. I gave this particular Nordstrom a 4 star b/c it is small and doesn't offer a lot of selection of things. The shoe department is shabby and doesn't carry my size in store. But I could always order online then bring them back to the store if they don't work out. However this store does have a pretty decent selection of Topshop clothing items on the second floor. We all know there are only a handful Topshop stores nationwide (NYC, LA & Chicago). So I was pleasantly surprised to see so much Topshop stuff at this Nordie. Bottom line, I am a loyal Nordstrom customer and will continue to support their business. And don't worry, I won't return a tire! read more

Nordstrom used to be my favorite shopping experience. But for a while now it appears they discriminate against people who wear large sizes (anything over a 12). If you're small or x-small you'll have no problem. The sales people kept telling me all the large sizes are sold out (I wonder why). And then they got this great idea to scatter them all over the store, not just in one place. I used to enjoy their plus size area and now I have to look for my size on the entire floor. I complained last year to a manager and she said it was an executive decision to have large sizes scattered. Terrible idea. I wish they would change. I'm deeply saddened it's just not the same store. The new renovations are cold and not as welcoming as the old tasteful decor with the piano playing. Sad sad sad. read more

I have been very happy with the customer service provided both when trying to find a perfect pair of jeans and then picking up the tailored jeans from a different associate the following week. Shopping here is pleasant, the staff are very helpful and attentive. I adore the MAC counter and have had wonderful make up applications and plenty of assistance while deciding on which new lipstick, eyeliner and shadow colors to make mine. If there is an option, I will always choose Nordstrom's I adore their customer service and the open layout of their merchandise ( yes, easy to shop). So, if I am going to shop to buy, Nordstrom's is number one stop in San Antonio. The single drawback, which could be fatal, the fashion choices are becoming more and more edited, perhaps to the point that there are no shopping discoveries left. I am a die hard Nordstrom's fan. Was so happy to shop again after being on lockdown for so long. 1st stop Jewelry section. Wanted a ring, only small sizes available. Lost a sale there. Also there really are no fine Jewelry choices. How about some Marco Biegio options? Then off to the Clarins counter. Found everything I wanted. Shoes next, didn't find my size but they shipped my new boots, see photo. Upstairs for bathing suits, hardly anything. Workout clothes, small selection. Couldn't find any sweaters I liked. Finished in the lingerie section. Since they stopped carrying Shimera brand the quality has dropped. Got a nice Hanky Panky, even though it is one size fits most, and that ain't me. That new Zelle brand which floods the panties and socks and workout wear is a poor brand choice and not sure why Nordstrom's carries it so heavily. So overall, I sort of found what I wanted, would have bought more. Tired of not finding more XL clothes and size 10 shoes on the floor. Despite all that, I'll be back. read more

Nordstrom has changed so much over the years. You walk into this store and see a mess in women's department. My wife used to find quality clothing. Now the brands offered to public seem very cheap almost feels like a Ross. What is going on ? And so many clearance racks make shopping in the store feel cheap. If we wanted to have this atmosphere we'd be shopping the Nordstrom rack! Must say Neiman's is making the right call at this time! read more

Wow, what a disappointment! I worked at Nordstrom-Dallas Galleria for some time, so I feel like I can be a fair judge of what kind of service should be given and received at Nordstrom. Nordstrom is a store that prides itself on customer service, and that impeccable service is supposed to set it apart from other high end retailers. At the Nordstrom-La Cantera, service does not seem to be a priority to the sales associates. Maybe the service is better in women's clothing at La Cantera, but it is certainly lackluster in the men's department. My boyfriend and I were looking for a dress suit for him, and after walking around for 15 minutes and not having been approached at all, he was ready to leave. I told him to wait, and we meandered over to The Rail where we asked the salesperson for help finding swim trunks. His "That's all we have on that rack," wasn't very helpful. We walked back into the men's suits where multiple salespeople looked at us, but no one offered to help or even said "We'll be right with you." I was VERY surprised at the lack of service. Nordstrom's loss. We headed to Brooks Brothers where we got just what we needed and amazing service to boot. read more

Normally, every associate from every department I've shopped in has been a pleasure. However, on my last visit/purchase from the handbag department I received some of the worst service ever. Upon entering the department the sales woman didn't even acknowledge my presence. After asking for assistance for a bag I've already had to order, she said nothing and just walked to the back. When she returned from the back and starred at me uncomfortably for a bit. I asked to purchase the fairly the expensive item. Then and only after this time, did she open up and begin to talk to me - which I was not having. Every other person I've met in this department and this store have been a true delight. And although I may not be the handbag departments "target customer" but I expect at least some common courtesy. read more

I'm beginning to think I should do all of my shopping at Nordstrom from now on. I have had countless pleasant experiences here. I find their retail/salespeople to be the perfect combination of helpful but not overly nosey. I actually tend to take them up on their offers to help simply because they aren't too pushy. I have found my favorite brand of jeans here, lingerie for the many bachelorette parties I've been a part of, dresses for weddings I've attended and/or been in, shoes at discounted prices, and tons of tops that are work/play appropriate. All thanks in large part to the ladies that help. Customer service is truly on point here. My favorite thing about Nordstrom is that they will really try and find what you want from another location, if they don't have it there, and have it shipped directly to you. I have also heard great things about their alterations department, but have not used it yet. I think long and hard about where I spend my money on clothes, and Nordstrom will always be the top of my list. read more

The ones who were there were looking at their phones. Did not come to help and worse, did not seem to care. Many shoppers left after standing near two workers who were just talking and laughing. I want to say that this is the most amazing Nordstrom I've ever been to! What really distinguish this location from others is the amazing customer service. They can get quite busy, but all the staff are always extremely helpful and attentive. BEST.MAKE UP. COUNTER. I love their make up counter staff so much! She held a dress for me while I went to neimans. Omg. Walked around for 15 to 20 minutes waiting for help. Not a souls helped me. I had lots of stares and associates walk past. This store always makes me feel good. It is a beautiful store with wonderful service professionals. I have had many positive shopping experiences here and will continue to shop here. I want to be clear about this - the staff at the store is fabulous and have always treated me very well! This past holiday season they were selling items that had ETSY tags on them and including the creator's contact information. Great job Nordstrom linking the 'little guy' in to the holiday shopping experience! The shoe department is a bummer though... I keep going back thinking that it's my fault. Maybe I'm hitting them when they are transitioning seasons or perhaps I am expecting something unrealistic. They never have what I am looking for. Even when I look online at the current styles and know they carry a brand, I still struggle finding just the right shoe. This last experience really upset me ~ I went shopping for a 2-3 inch heel, closed toe for wearing to a wedding in the winter (black or silver sparkle). I was shopping in December so you'd think that wouldn't have been a problem. They stocked plenty of boots and plenty of sandal style shoes but almost nothing that was even in the ballpark ... I didn't even find ONE SHOE to try on! This isn't the only example either - I went looking for a sparkly sandal/kitten heel last summer and struck out. Not sure what the problem is here - I took to twitter expressing my grave frustration after this last incident. I was almost immediately contacted by the Nordstrom twitter people and they appeared to be very concerned! After a few exchanged tweets I felt heard and appreciated. My socks fit! Nordstrom's is the only department store in my area that I know of that sells men's socks by sizes! Wow, imagine that! I no longer have to have the heel of the sock sticking out of the back of my shoes - sweet. Unfortunately, that's all I usually buy there, but I do check in on their annual sales - I just happen to get over my Tommy Bahama phase. Keep on walking amigos. read more

This review is for the Nordstrom Wedding Suite. The Nordstrom Wedding Suite at La Cantera in San Antonio was about the 3rd dress shop I went to when I was shopping for my wedding dress. By far, the ladies at the Wedding Suite provided the best service! I scheduled an appointment, answered some questions via email, and when I arrived at my appointment, Emily, my consultant had already pulled three dresses based on what I said I was looking for. She listened to everything I had to say and never made me feel rushed or insignificant. Every time I walked into the Wedding Suite after purchasing my dress, everyone was extremely polite, professional, and friendly! They made the entire process enjoyable and stress-free! All my encounters at this store include wonderful service. The staff is very friendly and attentive, even on a busy day. This is a great place to shop; they have upheld their standards while most department stores seem to have lost theirs. It's always well organized and everything is easy to navigate through. Despite the misconception a few might still have, you don't need to pay an arm and a leg to shop here. They usually have pretty good deals/ sales and are priced competitively with other stores. I definitely love shopping here because it just seems like a relief from the messy and crowded department stores that surround this place. read more
