Like the obvious bridezilla that I have become in the last months, I made my fiancee bring his suit and matching shoes to the store because I wanted him to try different ties and cufflinks with it, and make sure it matches perfectly. As soon as we walked in the door Donny welcomed us with a smile and put his knowledge to work. He clearly understood how much of a big deal this was for us, and he helped us find the perfect tie and cufflinks for the wedding. At the end of it all, he spent almost an hour just with the two of us making sure we were happy with our choices and we that didn't have any other questions. I honestly can't believe how much dedication and time he put into helping us even though we were only purchasing two things and it was clear we were not going to buy a suit or anything else at the store. At the end, we went with one of his choices and thanks to Donny, my fiancee will look even more handsome at our wedding this upcoming January.

I've been shopping at this store for about 6 years. I shop for my personal wardrobe, business clothes, and dishes and textiles for my food photography business. I know most of the regular employees by name, at the very least by face, and they know me as well. On Saturday (May 2nd), I left close to $600 in merchandise at the register because of the employee's dismissive attitude while ringing it up. She not only ignored us (and everyone else) as we passed her on her way in, but also skulked around the store with a scowl that said she didn't want to be there. When we got to the register, she never greeted us, barely looked up at us, and never asked me for my Anthro Perks number. When I asked her if she would like it, she said, "I haven't asked for it yet." I shop there so much that I know the script is to greet the customer and ask, "Are you an Anthro rewards/perks member?" at the beginning of each encounter at the register. I told her she could cancel the sale, and we left. In this economy, those of us who have saved our money or choose to spend it with retailers shouldn't be left feeling like they're a nuisance. Anthropologie is not an inexpensive store. It makes no sense for us to spend money where we're treated like we don't belong. So, whoever was responsible for hiring the scowling blonde who was working at 7:30 PM on Saturday, May 2nd, should probably have her retrained or reevaluated on whether she actually wants to work there before allowing her to keep messing up your sales.

It's all stuff that's nice to have, but with an extra cutesy yet rustic and classy design element that makes it all come together. This stuff looks like it'd be at Martha Stewart's log cabin in the woods. When I went, the place was a bit of a madhouse, but that was Black Friday. Not once did she speak a word to me or my friend while we were sampling, didn't offer any assistance or even acknowledge us. I'm willing to bet that it was because we looked younger and there's this stigma (especially in the fragrance industry because I work with fragrances), that the younger audience doesn't buy anything. Not only was Norma very unwelcoming and inhospitable, I also observed her eating chocolate pretzels right in front of us while scrolling on her phone. This was a very gross and unprofessional representation of Saks Fifth Avenue and Parfums de Marly. Norma needs better training because she seemed very comfortable doing this as if she does it all the time. There is one bright side to this story though; Patricia came to assist my friend and I and actually spoke to us like we were human beings. She seemed happy to assist us and even made light conversation with us. I felt a lot more welcome speaking with her. Norma could learn from her. If Saks Fifth is comfortable with having their name and luxury brands represented so sloppily, it's only a matter of time before this location closes. Very disappointing experience.

She wasn't sure where the salon was, but the gentleman she was speaking with (he also worked there), said to follow him and he'd take me to the salon. You can't get to it directly, he said. What!? Something about while the salon is part of Saks, it's not really part of Saks. Oh, okay. Well, we go in the back area where inventory is stored, go through a couple of hallways and doors. The last door puts you outside on the sidewalk. The salon entrance is only accessible from the outside, no inside entry. Who knew? After all this, they didn't have what I was looking for. Oh, well.

I had been searching for weeks all over San Antonio and was desperate to find something special! When I walked in, I was greeted by a kind employee and I explained to her my situation. She pulled 5 dresses in my size and immediately got me in a dressing room. The whole experience was quick and easy and I was extremely relieved (considering the party was in less than 24 hours). The quality of the dress (second from right in the photo) is amazing and I will wear it for several occasions in the future!
