Pros - easy and ample parking (part of the La Cantera shops) - large and organized store! - fitting room was large and accommodating - love their baby and kids section! - their sale sections are clearly labeled and organized they post how low their sale rack is (ex: $5 and up) - they have a mini browsing section of small trinkets like hair accessories and socks while waiting in line - people working the register were helpful and informative in my return/exchange - we got two super cute baby outfits for my baby here and we're excited for him to try it! The material seems quite soft and comfy Cons - a friend ordered nursing dresses for me online, but they were too big. I got some really good deals today at H&M. Dresses for $3-$5 and tops for $5. Unfortunately their dressing rooms were closed because of Covid but you couldn't beat these clearance prices. Check out was pretty quick and the store was clean. The employees were all wearing masks and gloves and a mask was required for entry. Definitely check out their v-neck cotton tee shirts for $4.99. I got two over a year ago and I wear them a lot and they still look great so I bought a few more today in different colors. read more

Yes, I am very excited that there is finally a store here in town. Since I moved here I was sad to depart from San Diego and missing H&M back there and SA didn't have one, so for the last three years I would have my friends go out to the stores and ship me the basics from H&M that I wear a lot of and stock up. The clothing lasts longer than forever fall apart and better quality, it is still cheap so it won't last long forever. I went in today to check it out real quick and was disappointed. It's summer and it's hot here and they are selling dark, thick clothing like sweaters, lots of pants, and had limited options for light, airy, colorful clothing to wear in the Texas heat. The store needs to work on customer service, efficiency, and they need more associates or at least figure out where to put them around the store lol, I couldn't even find anyone to help with anything. The dressing room was a mess, and the girl there looked unhappy and unfriendly, just blah...There's two check outs one in ladies and children's, none in men's. The check out line was long and I wanted to get out ASAP, so I walked over to men's no register there, and then I went to the kids section, nope no one there at the register or working in that department. It looked like everyone was at the main register. I could have gotten away with shoplifting and nobody would even notice. I wouldn't even be surprised if someone even did today! To top it off the cashier didn't take off the censors from the shoes I bought, it went off beeping and I went back in to get it removed. Then I come home to put the stuff I bought away and both shirts have censor tags on. Like this fool didn't even thoroughly check the clothes! Now I have to waste my time and go back there! Ugh... At least I get to use the $6 credit from Wrapp app. Which is a gift card to use at H&M. read more

Maybe I'm.. spoiled? uncool? old? but I didn't find anything I liked at H&M. The clothes are the same quality as Forever 21 and a smidge pricier but unless you're a gal looking for a cocktail dress, the pickins are slim? shoddy? ugly? I ventured to H&M on a week day and had the place all to myself. After some browsing, my eagerness level went from "f*ck yeah" to "meh" really fast. H&M quality is awful.. Took two tops to the dressing room and after I figured out how to put it on (ugh, girl clothes probz) I noticed how uneven the seams were, how the fabric was pulling already, how the buttons down the middle were asymmetric.. and not on purpose. But hey, I frequent Forever 21 for my "need a cute dress like now" needs so I know the drill, just have to weed through the crap. Second run-through looking for clothes and could not find anything else I wanted to try on. Walked over to the men's section and instantly wished I was into gender-neutral looks. Dinner jackets, knitwear, basics, guys get all the classics while gals are relegated to sheer high-low blouses or an over-sized leopard sweater? Lame. Anyway, check out H&M for your boyfriend and walk down a little further to Zara (or hell, sale rack at Macy's for my fellow budget shoppers) for yourself. read more

As a native San Antonian I was super excited to see that La Cantera finally got H&M to their location. In for the weekend to spend some time with my sister, we decided we should hit up the store for basics and a little summer shopping. This review, like the others for this location, is NOT about the clothing, pricing, store setup, etc etc. It is about the lack of training/customer service for the employees at this H&M location. Her first time here and she absolutely loved it. She had over a dozen items to try in after only being there for a half hour. I picked out a few things to try on as well as started browsing the items displayed on mannequins and above the racks. As I did so I was startled with a "EXCUSE ME" from a female employee. I took a step to my left and let the employee pass me by. I didn't realize I was in the way nor did I realize it warranted a loud "excuse me" in my right ear. I shook it off and continued shopping. A few minutes later, as my sister came out of the dressing room to discuss what she liked/didn't like, we both got a loud "EXCUSE ME!" as we were standing away from the walking aisle and nearest to the jewelry. It startled my sister as we did not expect this. The same female employee was pushing a Z-rack of clothing right behind us which forced us to move away and into a different aisle. At this point I explained to my sister that same employee literally did the same thing to me in a different aisle. We shook our heads and the first thing out of my mouth was "does this happen at your work?" to my sister. My sister works at a book store and there have been times, as she explains to me, that there will be customers in her book area/expertise at times when she needs to tidy up and fulfill her job duties. Never, has she ever told a customer to move or even gets by them by saying "excuse me". She will come back to the areas as soon as the customer leaves and take care of what she needs to take care of. She gives the customer the time, the space, and the courtesy of shopping without being bothered. Point I am making here is that is customers are in your store to shop, H&M. Please do not take the Californian attitude of not giving a rats butt and be rude to ANYONE in the store much less a customer - no matter if they are in the "way" or not. There are a crap ton of other aisles to navigate to. Don't make me feel like I am in the way and that I am doing something wrong. Hopefully the next time I come through La Cantera's H&M store, I will be greeted with happy and courteous employees. read more

I took my son shopping for some summer clothes. He loved the H&M in South Beach, so we thought we'd give SA's a whirl. It was pretty busy for a Monday afternoon, but the customer service was friendly and he managed to find some nice clothes at a reasonable price. They've got a great selection if swimwear and kids' clothes, too! I stocked up on basics (tanks and tees). All in all, I'm glad we have an H&M in San Antonio..its about time! read more

You don not know how I've longed for an H&M near me. Endless trips to Austin and having friends ship clothing to me was a necessity. Then they opened online shopping and truth be told I now have a horrible online shopping problem. After a few visits to the store it's just an easier option to order online and if i have any issues visit the store for returns. I'm just as excited as the next person that SA finally got its very own H&M. A recent visit just didn't measure up to expectation. Now it had nothing to do with the clothing: plenty of choices including cheap basics, well made work items, a well stocked kids section, and massive amounts of casual wear. What turned me off was the customer service. After asking an associate if they had a particular skirt that I had seen online she told me "it's best to order it online since it's probably not in the store." No offers to look for it or to have it shipped to the store. The next experience was in the dressing rooms where they tell the customers to hang everything back up and bring it out when finished. I have never been told that at any other H&M. Lastly, a skirt I liked only had my size on the mannequin. I asked an associate if I could have it and was told "all items on the mannequins are reserved." I suppose this is a case of you get what you pay for. It's difficult to spend my money here when other stores offer a higher level of customer appreciation. For cheap basics and kids items this place is a good option, but don't expect helpful assistance. read more

I like H&M mainly because of their tee shirts. Plain tees are $6 and the quality is decent for that price. In my opinion they are much better than crappy 3 pack of Hanes from Target. Their shirts will shrink in the dryer so be careful. It's a tee shirt and I were plenty of them around to sleep in, exercise, or a quick trip to the store. I do like the variety of tee shirts they carry from plain to graphics. It's an inexpensive to shop for the basics. I dig it. read more

I love H&M and am super excited one opened up around SA a few years ago, but recently every time I've been in this H&M at La Cantera it is a total MESS! Clothes on the floor, very unorganized, in the back where the sale items are there s clothing just thrown everywhere hung every which way. Seems to me like they need more people working to keep the floors neat and tidy as well as the lines at the check out and dressing room moving at an effective rate. It is a total turn off when the store you are shopping in is so unorganized and messy you don't even want to continue shopping. read more

This store is always messy and the staff have been rude on several occasions. I'm not one to complain or one to expect any special treatment but it's like walking into Dick's Last Resort every time I walk into this store. It's as if the staff is trying to be "hip" or misguided hipsters but it isn't working for the staff at this store. I just spoke to one of your customer service representative and had a really bad experience. I was trying to track a specific jacket that I saw in store. Instead of helping me, she began to say that she can't do any of it due to the busy holiday season. What good is the customer service line if you can't service your customer? I buy 80% of my clothes from H&M whether it's for work or casual. I donate my old clothes every visit and I can't even receive the simplest favor from your representative. read more

this h&m is relatively small, but has a decent selection. opening day was pure madness but now that the hype has died down, it's actually possible to shop here without getting trampled. :P one thing that is annoying is that the in-store prices often vary from online prices (oftentimes double the price) and they won't price match the online prices. also, if you buy items online, you can't return them to the store. i'm glad we finally have an h&m in town but they should really step up their store policies to be more customer friendly and on par with other retail stores! read more

I've always liked H&M, but I have noticed that some of their clothes have gotten weirder and weirder. Yes, it's euro, but that doesn't automatically mean I'm going to wear the styles. I went a few days ago because I like the leggings for girls. They aren't too long and have lots of stretch. So I went for that and we ended up buying more because there were quite a few cute sweaters and dresses for little girls. I go look in the women's section on the way out and I saw a pair of shoes, one dress and one shirt I liked. Nothing else really caught my eye. In the past, I've tried on a few things and they looked awful, being tight in all the wrong places. It's a shame because I have a few classics in my closet from a more fashionable H&M past (little black dress, cardigans) that need newer replacements. In short, I loved the little girl clothes for the most part and disliked the majority of the women's clothing. It kills me to give three stars, but I can't even remember the last time I bought something for myself from this store because I have such a hard time finding anything. I shop at H&M all the time, it's my favorite clothing store. I always come to this location and the customer service is always good, I always find nice clothes, and I really don't have an issue with anything here. Just wish they had more regular skinny jeans instead of super skinny or slim fit/regular/boot-cut, every time I go they never have the regular skinny that's listed online. Other than that minor thing, I love it here and I will continue to shop here until I go bankrupt, since I spend half my paycheck here. read more
