Outstanding Customer Service is the highlight of this review. I'm a regular shopper here and enjoy the selection, price and my overall positive experiences. However, I'd like to give the female associate in the fitting room major kudos. In addition to being kind, she was knowledgeable on proper fit, styling and the "feel" wearing certain clothing should create. On top of all of that, she took mega pride in her work and the appearance of the fitting rooms by sweeping floors and keeping things tidied-up for customers. Which was super appreciated! read more

My go to Nordstrom rack in town! The dressing rooms are always tidy, the shoes are always super well organized on the shelves, and there's always a wide array of options for whatever you're looking for. I personally love the shoe dept the most because they always have smaller sizes in stock. Never encountered a bad staff member. Highly recommend shopping this location! read more

Love this store for shoes mainly. I was in the shoe dept., and a male and female store shoe stockers were having a loud conversation about a car accident and for the 30 min. I was shopping, every other word was mf. In fact, grammatically, it didn't flow well. So offensive that I left, but told a rep at the front. I'm not naive, was a high school teacher for 34 yrs., but it was difficult to stomach the range of vulgarity while Christmas shopping. Unprofessional. read more

This store has potential but every single pair of shoes I picked up had been worn long enough to ruin the soles and leave toe prints. The selection in dresses and undergarments (was shopping for a wedding) was terrible. Everything was VERY disorganized. Nice staff, but apparently not enough of them to do their job appropriately. And then the reply from the business owner here says "sorry you were unhappy with our in-store selection"!??? How about "sorry we are putting used clothing and shoes on the shelves and racks like a thrift store." YIKES! STEER CLEAR FRIENDS. read more

I loved shopping at Nordstrom Rack for many years. Not any more! Clothing, shoes and other merchandise is cheaply manufactured and poor quality. Don't be fooled by the name. Very little of this cheap merchandise, if any, would ever see the inside of a true Nordstrom's. You will find better quality and prices at a Walmart! read more

"Some" of the merchandise is discounted to a reasonable dollar amount, but I was still left aghast at some of the prices of shirts and suits. Even after they were supposedly discounted. Bottom line is, you really have to hunt for the discounted items and they are stuffed into racks that make it hard to find your size. It's worth checking out from time to time I guess, but don't expect many inexpensive items. P.S. - not sure about the photo from the "business owner" that shows an escalator. Woah! This place is enormous and packed with all kinds of stuff. The largest Nordstrom Rack I've seen for sure - and the busiest. From housewares to Christmas decorations to alllllll the clothes to sift through to luggage... you're likely to walk out with a great lil' something for yourself or present for another. With more staff onsite this location would be a bit better. Long lines and picked over items could use a little love. Tip: you can return items from regular Nordstroms here! read more

I've had some pretty good luck at this location on finding great deals. There's plenty of parking and it's a place to look for hidden gems such as designer brands for clothes, shoes, accessories and prestige make up. They have a make up collection on the side that has prestige brands such as Bare Minerals, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier and even lower brands like NYC and Neutrogena. One week, I was able to pick up some really outstanding palettes for $20. By week two and three they were all gone! They sometimes carry some surprisingly upscale brands on sale such as Stuart W, Longchamps and Fendi and Prada. Make sure you check out the Clear the Rack sales because it's often an extra 20-30% off! read more

Nordstrom Rack is great; it's like Nordstrom, but on a rack. Okay, so I am not really sure what the rack part means, but all that matters is that we are talking discounted clothes. This store is pretty large inside and there are a good amount of women's clothing spread across the entire store. I love the selection, which ranges from classy, formal dresses to juniors-type, casual attire. The back section is filled with shoes, which I love browsing through. There is a designer shoe area that is separate from the normal shoes if you feel like busting out the big bills. One disadvantage to this store is that I always have a hard time determining where a particular type of clothing will be. I don't get a feeling that clothes are really organized well. It seems like they are categorized by brand, which could be nice, but is a little impractical if you are looking for, say, a wrap dress. It could be in numerous places. That little aspect aside, this store is awesome and could easily steal hours of your life away. It's a great place to find trendy, well-made clothes for much less than you would pay in a normal department store. read more

This place has great selection of bags,clothing and especially shoes! Beware that it gets packed on the weekends and I feel like the good stuff are always taken by the time the weekend comes around. Ever so often you will find something you are looking for at a great deal. I feel the prices are still high though, especially designer jeans and designer bags. Customer service is great here, they have backup cashiers who can you check out on the floor rather than wait in the long line! If you shop are Nordstrom Rack or Nordstrom alot, sign up for their debit or credit rewards. I mainly go here for my size 5 shoes. They are the only ones that have a decent selection of Size 4-5 shoes! It is a curse to have little feet! Each time I go here I head straight for the shoes section. I have bought a few pairs of work heels here. Be prepared to spend at least $50+ on a pair of shoes-----that took me awhile to get use to. The clothes are too pricey for me so I don't bother to look each time I go here. The iPhone checkout feature is great. If you don't mind sifting through mostly unorganized racks, it'll be worth it to find a good deal. I tend to get impatient having to search through the clothes for something I like, then to actually get the right size. The few times I've stuck with it however I find something I love at a great price! They do try to organize the racks by size and style, yet I have found many things out of place. Nordstrom Rack! I am definitely a fan! I love that Nordstrom Rack offers a great variety of designer items for less - yes, some of the items are still expensive, but if you are willing to be patient, you can definitely find some AMAZING buys. Since the store's opening I have been able to find designer jeans, dresses, tops, SHOES! (they actually have size 5!), purses, jewelry, gift sets and makeup! This past Saturday I purchased a Gray Infinity Scarf by Lulu that I saw at regular Nordstrom for $22 - I got it for only $8! Steal! I also purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills "Want you to Want me" makeup palette that was at Sephora this past December for $13 (Retail $34). Better yet - I actually got all of these items for free because I earned 4 $10 gift cards from their store during the holidays :). I have also experienced wonderful customer service from this store except once - during the holidays two years ago I was overcharged by over $100 by a new employee who didn't discount my items at the register. I drove back to the store and the manager apologized, refunded the amount the store owed me to my credit card (I found out that they could have done this remotely after I drove back to the store) and offered me 30% off any item in the store for a future visit. I appreciate their willingness to make my negative shopping experience right and since then I have not had any trouble. If you are a fan of savings on designer items you should visit this store! Nice clean store is a nice addition to the shops at the RIM. I don't know why anyone would expect "service" like you would get at a regular Nordstrom??? This is a closeout/clearance store, so expect what you would see at an outlet type of experience. That being said, if you know what a good bargain is for designer brands than you will know a good deal is when you find it here. I found a Michael Kors watch for $187.50! Yes, if you know, you know that is a good price! Nice handbag selection also. I would advise not to come on the weekends when out of towners are here and you have to wait in line to pay. I LOVE Nordstrom Rack. This is my go-to clothing/shoe store. High-end, fantastic brands at a fraction of the price. Some items are still quite pricey (over $100), but if you shop here enough, you'll get $20 notes you can use on anything. They also have alot of red-tag sales events, which dramatically lowers the price. I buy all my Paige Denim here ($189 originally) for $69-$80. Its a steal! I have also bought multiple Steve Madden shoes here for under $50. When they have their red-tag sales events, Ive purchased shirts for $6. Convenient location. My favorite store. Reasonable prices. Great place to find designer brands! Sometimes, the store can be a little unorganized and clothes aren't in the appropriate section, but stay persistent and you will eventually find it. One of the negatives at this store is with the sizes. They always seem to run low in Small for the brands I look for like Penguin. As for the shoe selections, they have a wide variety to choose from. The shoes are somewhat haphazardly misplaced but that's understandable in any shoe store. I've bought a few Sperry's from Nordstrom Rack and I am happy with the price and product. Great service in the fitting rooms with a helpful staff. Also, I'd like to add this is a great place to buy your next designer watch! Once, I got accosted by a road rage-filled chick on her way to work here, while I was on my way to shop here*. When I got inside, I realized why she was filled with such angst. This place kind pretty much sucks. I'm a Nordstrom fan true and true. The bottom line? You'll pay only slightly more at the real store and receive 200% better service. Also, you won't have to sift through 6,587 garments just to find there's not ONE in your size. I can't even say it's a "You get what you pay for" situation, because the deals at Rack just aren't that impressive. I absolutely love Nordstrom Rack! The deals I find are super, especially on shoes! They have cute purses, accessories and even though you have you dig sometimes, it's worth it. The savings compared to Nordstrom are huge. I recently bought my daughter the cutest Mary Jane Crocs (name brand) for a penny! Yes, one cent! nordstrom is one of my favorite department stores. Because I am a sale seeking type of a girl I hardly like to pay full price for anything I wear...or just about anything for that matter. So I basically love Nordstrom Rack. And how life is so better now that there is a location closer to us Austin folks...(the other closest being in Dallas) The Rack in San Antonio is by far a better hit for the ladies than the men, my boyfriend is not a fan. SO I just go by myself :) Be prepared to spend at least an hour to an hour & half searching, hence why a star is missing. You just have to love the thrill of the hunt to love this place, and the hunt is sooooooooo worth. Spectacular deals that are often NOT "so last year" in case that is important to you. They have really stepped up some of the lines they are filtering down from the stores too. Coming soon in Spring of 2009 is an Off 5h (Saks) store right next to the Rack. Awwww Bliss. read more

One of the managers at the register over charged me for my purchase. All of the wallets on the wall had the $24.97 price tag and she rang me up as $29.97. With tax and everything it came up to $32.44. When I asked her why it came out to that she told me it was $29.97 not the price that was on the tag! If it had been for me, I would not have purchased it. But I needed a last minute birthday gift & this was the most convenient thing for me to do. I also heard them ringing up a different customer who had the same issue, and at the time of purchase, it turned out her item was not really on "clearance". So I guess we are just going to lie to customers now? Aside from all this, they do have a pretty wide selection of things, and mostly well kept and organized but they could do better. read more

This place is ok, sometimes it's hard to find things, you really have to commit the time to digging through the shelves and it does get busy. The dressing room people have put my clothes back on the shelves BEFORE I tried it on on two separate occasions without much apology or remorse. Nordstrom Rack is like Ross but without the weird lip fungus. They have great brands with fantastic pricing. The place is clean, it doesn't smell weird and the folks there are helpful. Nordstrom Rack employees have surely experienced more training and company culture compared to other discount and closeout shops and it shows. I've purchased ties, shirts and shoes here with a great shopping experience every time. It's not necessarily cheap, but the discounts are significant and it deserves to be on your shopping stops. read more

I'm such a huge fan of Nordstrom Rack! I don't mind looking through racks and piles of clothes. I'm a thrifty shopper, and frequent Buffalo Exchange, Plato's, Mustang Exchange and thrift stores on the regular, so discovering Nordstrom Rack in SA is a total treat! Their clearance racks are organized a little haphazardly, (medium sizes in the large sections, etc.) but I don't mind extremely. They have a rewards program, but it is meant to be linked with your debit card so that as you purchase with that same debit card it tracks the points you accumulate right on it & you get a statement in the mail periodically stating your earnings. What this requires is giving the associate your bank account's tracking/account number, your driver's license and your SSN. There is no credit check, but that is more that I'm willing to do for "points," at least for now. They do offer a store credit card and e-mail mailing list, as well. read more

Wonderful place for denim, especially if you already know the label you are looking for. Without that, I am sure hunting from rack to rack, along with the 8 item max in the dressing room would get pretty tedious. You won't get the personalized service or shopping here, but there are deals to be had if you are patient. I like the few items made specifically for Rack, some great fitted t's and cardigans too. But, as I said, it is the denim that makes this place great IMO. Paige jeans and Seven for All Mankind under $100? I mean really, those wear like steel and are flattering to boot. I still regret not scooping up a great pair of heels I saw last year. I returned a few days later and of course, they were gone. If you see something you want, don't wait - get it. I enjoy shopping here every few weeks, since they usually have new inventory every so often. They have really good clothes at great prices. But my absolute favorite part of the store is the handbag section, they have a good selection from great designers at really good prices. Their shoe selection is also very broad. I even got my boyfriend to shop for clothes there and he hates to shop! They also have cool sunglasses, jewelry and accessories. I'm a frequent visitor/shopper at Nordies Rack. Most visits I get a great deal, while a few times I've actually walked out empty-handed (if you knew me you'd understand, lol). The prices are about 50-60% off Nordies full-priced stores. The inventory is increased weekly but sometimes some items become stale. The clearance Rack (lol, love puns) is a great area in the store to find some cheap deals! The usual brands carried are: Steve Madden, Kooba, Kate Spade, MBMJ, Uggs, True Religion, Free People, and Juicy Couture to name a few. The store can get very, very busy, more so during the holiday season. Furthermore, don't expect the usual smiley-faced, rosy-cheeked service associates that you find at the full-priced store; these guys seem less inclined to help. Summary: if you're down to save at least 30% and have some time to hunt for your treasure, do it!!! If you'd rather spend your time fawning over your purchase buy it at the full-priced store!!! read more

This place is not what it used to be. The merchandise is not always correctly marked, and as a result returns sometimes can be a nightmare. The management is rude, so do some of the cashiers(one has since moved to Nordstrom at La Cantera). The shoe dept. is why I come here. Have found some wonderful basic styles I hadn't seen anywhere else with reasonable reductions. Larger clothing sizes sell out quickly, so limited options for me. Accessories offers a strong selection with some dreamy handbags; however, be warned you will still pay more than you may want to/need to (I don't believe in funding someone's yacht/airplane/mansion). Staff always helpful and amble parking. Come during week if you can. Return policy has changed--after 30 days no return is accepted not even for store credit. read more
