We made one lap of the store and it was "I've got to get out of here." (It was only like 80 outside so not unbearable Texas summer heat. It was April 2.) Selection looked good. Prices were ok. The service here is outstanding! Also, did you go so far as to hire a random passerby to offer to help us to the car with our findings? Seriously, everyone is nice around this place! The selection is fabulous as always and the prices are awesome! It's a very clean store with plenty of employees asking if there's anything you need help with. I love it! One of the ladies at the front even called around to all of the home goods in San Antonio to see if the had an item that we wanted. Super sweet! I have to warn you though, only come here if you're planning on spending a good amount of money. This is not a browsing type store. This store is in a nice up and coming area. Yes outside the 410 loop but still easy to get to despite construction. Lots of stores near this one. The home goods was huge. So many dog aisles. If I need a home goods I will drive to this location. Lots of associates working register. Very clean and just a good feeling when shopping. read more

First time coming in here...what is there not to like? This is a designer's paradise or a woman's dream come true, lol. Went in to look for a few specific things that we couldn't find but unfortunately staff couldn't tell us if they had it either. We kept looking around the big store with our daughter but no luck. Never used to be this much trouble finding a price on a clearance item! Or if they couldn't locate the exact item - they used their best and fair judgment to sell the item. They couldn't find the other fitted sheet nor pillow cases to the set. It was just a flat sheet that was in the clearance area. Instead the "manager" brings a new item and says that is the price of the sheet. Are you kidding me!! Who in their crazy mind would pay full price for a sheet set that is missing the other items. Their clearance area is a big hot mess with a lot of prices missing! When I asked about the main manager (who was always helpful and knew his stuff) the salesperson said he was no longer at the store. That's explains everything- this store needs to get their act together and clean up their store. I wasn't the only in line waiting for a price check today. Ugh so frustrating- I'll be shopping at another store. read more

Where do I even begin?! I moved into my house a year ago, and I was pregnant at the time so I've done very little decorating. Today I decided to make the trek out to HomeGoods and it was the best trip I could have possibly made. For just over $500, I was able to purchase an accent table and lamp for my foyer area, 9 prints/canvases for multiple rooms in my house, and and a sugar free Irish Creme coffee syrup! I'm going to take a few items back tomorrow only because I got a little carried away and not everything works like it was in my mind. I would suggest that you go with a list of what you actually NEED. Otherwise, it's easy to overspend. I liken it to going to an "all you can eat" buffet when you're hungry. If you are like me, and love kitchen appliances, bedding and furniture but do not want to pay full retail price, then check out HomeGoods. Here you will find a wide range of unique and quirky kitchenware and a great selection of cookware and utensils. They have a nice mix of bedding and bath selections, art and gifts. They have nice furniture pieces that are spaced throughout the store. I purchased a nice dark wood media chest for my bedroom for $299 that retailed at $499. I've always been a fan of Homegoods. Love the good deals and all the amazing stuff. I had my first bad experience at a Homegoods yesterday and it was solely to do with the customer service. I've never bought a big/bulky item before from their store. Yesterday I decided to buy a large mirror. Much taller than myself and fairly heavy. No one was around for me to ask for assistance, decided to go wait in the checkout line and get assistance from there. They had only one cashier open with a long growing line. The one cashier, Cheryl, was chatting up a storm with the customer prior to me asking irrelevant questions. I don't mind chatting with the clients and building a repoire but it's another thing when you chat and completely stop working. The line continued to grow behind me. Finally, she finished with the client and it was my turn. Told her I was wanting to purchase that mirror (pointed to it behind me) she called a rep to come help. She was not at all friendly, didn't say hello, how can I help you, nothing. I asked if I could go ahead and pay for it so I don't have to wait in line again, she was snarky and replied "if you can get the sticker off". I went to the mirror and she took the next customer in line. Got the sticker off the mirror, waited in the now very long line, and then got her again at the counter. She never even looked up. Took the sticker, scanned it, asked for pymt and passed me the receipt. Didn't say thank you, ask me if I needed assistance, nothing. As I went to go grab the mirror, only then she asked "you got it?". Not helpful at all. Maybe it's the location. I've never had a bad experience at the Rim location. Yes, the lines can be long at that location but it moves fairly quickly but service has always been superb. I'm dissappointed. My mother and myself love shopping at HomeGoods but I think we've decided to cut this location off our shopping list. read more

I decided to try and make myself completely solvent - to give up the place I was renting, to sell everything and to move on. I panicked. I found another job the second week of November. Yeah, so, now I have no drinking glasses or lamps or...you name it. What?!!? I panicked. Anyways, then my mother reminded me about Home Goods. Let me tell you, Home Goods is fabulous. Sure, there are those kitchy country items, but for the most part, it's fabulousness. There is literally an item to fit every decor from Hollywood Regency to Nautical Chic to Shabby Chic and everything in between. I love this store. Love it. Love it. Love it. What did I get on this visit? Drinking glasses. Two to-die-for lamps, an apothecary jar, a ceramic Ming lion and a couple of other items. Yes, I went overboard a bit. Older white woman looked and acted like she was miserable. I am clearly pregnant and having horrible back pain. I asked for assistance three times and no one came (they weren't busy and in fact, many were just standing around). You would have thought I asked them to move a mountain. The "tree" was maybe 5 pounds. It was a big deal for me to bend and pick it up. I explained that but it did not stop her from having an attitude and acting like I was inconveniencing her. read more

While I am happiest at yard sales and resale shops, I'm always up for a trip to Home Goods. They have a great selection that is well-organized, unlike many other bargain stores. I never feel like I need to sift through piles of junk to find a hidden gem. They merchandise and display their bargains in a way that makes shopping here fun and not completely overwhelming. Styles here range from super modern to rustic and hit lots of things in between. They sell furniture, kitchenware, linens, wall hangings, you name it. And the staff is typically happy and helpful where you don't feel like they don't want to be there. That's a major plus at this type of store, bc at others, I sometimes feel like I'm lost sorting through stuff I don't need with no one to help me! read more

Underwhelming. I saw the exact same shower caddies here at Burlington Coat Factory (same price at least), and the same side chair at Ross. One difference is that they sell large area rugs, but they aren't cutting any deals on those. A lot of the other knick knacks had a Hobby Lobby feel (which is in the same strip mall). What am I getting at? Nothing original and less of a selection than at the aforementioned businesses. Does not live up to the potential of its name. read more

Im a designer who has spent over 10k in the store over the past 2 months while shopping for a particular project. The employees are always rude and unpleasant. They act as if they hate their job and the customer is a bother. I've visited all the Homegoods in my region and have had pretty much the same experience everywhere but the one at 281 in San Antonio is the worst by far. This seems to be a company wide issue that should be addressed to save the sales. I was in the store to purchase 2 major furniture items for my job equalling over 600.00. The lady at the register (Cindy E.) was so rude to me that I walked out and swore I would never return. read more
