Mimosa and bloody mary
Scott Z.

Heard a lot about this place. Went for breakfast and really enjoyed the vibe and the food. Service was great too. I had the Blackstone Benedict which was tasty....home fries had a great taste. My wife enjoyed the classic breakfast. Nice list of mimosas and a good bloody mary.

Superior dining. We were poolside and could hear the singer in the bar well. Food was excellent. My cocktail was not good but others were good. Chicken was crispy and had good flavor. LGBTQ+ friendly

Biscuits and Gravy

We dined here for the complimentary breakfast that came with our room. The food was good and what I would have expected. I do like the environment as it's practically outside and on a lovely morning like we had, it was nice. Our waiter was attentive and overall service was good. The complimentary menu is more limited than their regular menu, but we tried the biscuits and gravy (which I judge a restaurant by) and they were what I would have hoped. If you like biscuits and gravy, get them! My husband had the Eggs La Te Da, which he liked. He wasn't a fan of the sour cream in the eggs, but I know I would have enjoyed them. We also tried a single pancake because I do love a good pancake. It was good and what I would have hoped. They do serve it with a whipped oleo or what seemed like a non-butter spread. On our trips we like to venture out to lots of places so we didn't have dinner here, but if/when we come back, we will add it to the list and recommend you give them a try if you are in the area. Make a reservation for dinner, the two nights we walked through here, it was packed.

Shrimp scampi

We went for dinner, make reservations. We sat outside and the atmosphere is chill and romantic. The food is amazing!! We had shrimp scampi and seafood pasta (special of the day). Both dishes were delicious. The shrimp was sooooo good. Staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Southernmost Sausage Gravy and Biscuits - True country Sage Sausage Gravy on a warm Buttermilk Biscuit
John R.

I believe this was my first time ever having biscuits and gravy so don't judge me too harshly for that. The Southernmost Sausage Gravy and Biscuits - True country Sage Sausage Gravy on a warm Buttermilk Biscuit were actually awesome -- and heavy. I didn't need to eat for the rest of the day! Our large party had a private table upstairs and service was generally good though it took a bit for us all to get our orders. The real reason to come here is the history. The name is from "La Terraza de Marti" or "The Balcony of Marti" and is indeed referenced in a Jimmy Buffett song though with a different spelling, apparently. Marti was a national hero of the Cuban Revolution and was an integral part in freeing Cuba from Spain. Yes, he gave his speeches from the balcony that is there.

GREAT wedge salad

We always stay at La Te Da on our annual trip to Key West. This was the first time we had dinner there, as there are so many places to eat, and we always run out of time. It will not be the last time we eat there. This will be one of our usual dinner stops. The ambiance is more formal with white linen tablecloths. The tables are outside, and all the Christmas decorations make for an excellent atmosphere. The hotel is always fantastic, so I expected nothing different when it came to the food and service. Our server was very attentive and made us feel comfortable and well cared for. My wife began with a wedge salad, which she loved. She said it was one of the best wedge salads she had. She said the dressing was superb. I had the shrimp in a sambuca-infused cream sauce. It sounded interesting, and it was FANTASTIC. The shrimp were perfectly prepared; the cream sauce was smooth and perfectly seasoned to complement the shrimp, and it was served over puff pastry. We each had the crab cake entree. The crab cakes are amazing. They are large, full of fresh crab, and bursting with flavor. It was served with orzo in an incredibly rich sauce, and grilled asparagus spears. We could have easily split an entree. We ended up taking one full entree back to our room. We also had one of the best key lime pies for dessert with a very light and flavorful whipped cream. If you're looking for a special meal when in town, you owe it to yourself to try the restaurant at La te da.

This restaurant is casual on the outside but very posh inside with white linen table covers and beautiful silverware with small lantern lights. The stuffed chicken was on the pricey side but decent sized and tasty. I would recommend eating at night in the outside patio to see the blue lights and trees in the courtyard. They have hotel rooms surrounding the outside dining room.

Exterior

Best meal we had in Key West and by far the best key lime pie! Great service and beautiful interior, we loved everything about it,. Highly recommend the Mediterranean spaghettini with shrimp!!

We stumbled on this place while checking things out on the southern end of Duval street, next to the Southern Most Beach Resort. We got seated in the bar area right away. (The courtyard tables were booked) I have nothing but great things to say. The food was FANTASTIC. Fish cooked and seasoned perfectly. Best spaghetti bolognese I've had in years. Lemon drops, Cape Cods and glasses of wine... top notch. Service was friendly and attentive. I loved that we sat facing the street and got to see lots of fun people and evening train rides. We didn't see a drag show because all of them were booked for a week. If you are researching a lot of restaurants before your visit to Key West like I did... add this to your bookings. It wasn't on my radar but so lucky and glad we visited.

Seafood Pasta - A special while we were here and my favorite meal of the trip!
Lorri D.

We stayed at the La Te da hotel while we were in Key West, and since breakfast was included we also had several meals at restaurant. The breakfast was lovely, but the dinners were fantastic... Read a lot of meals when we were in Key West for the week, but my very favorite was at La Te da. The seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection! We had lunch once at the terrace bar, and the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. My mom was a huge fan of the 3Sum group which performs nightly starting at 830p. I highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant if you're staying in the keys.

Ask the Community - La Te Da Restaurant

Is the bar open until 11pm? We have a late arrival and 9:15p reservations, wanting to make sure we won't be rushed?

I'm sorry I can not answer your question. After our experience we weren't sticking around for more dissapointment.

How long do they serve breakfast?

I ate dinner there. Not sure. Go to Bannanas cafe right down the street from there. Very good breakfast spot.

I know the hotel is over 21 only, but is the restaurant as well?

No. Unless you are drinking

Non English speaker who forgot a simple request for mayo so we could try to choke down our chicken sandwich. Food was uniquely terrible. Chicken sandwich was small for $21 and I swear it was frozen and microwaved prior to bringing out to the table. It was so dry and obviously over microwaved, but we did not say anything we just asked for mayo to try to chock it down, but the mayo never came. This is an overpriced venue that cannot even get bar food right. For the price, food quality, lackluster service, too loud music, and obstructed view, do yourself a favor and go to the Tiki Bar at the Galleon for picture perfect sunsets, followed by dinner on the marina. Spent over 2 weeks here this time and have each June for the past 20. Last year I met my Son and Daughter in law there for drinks but did not eat. Tonight is our last night here and I wanted to do something different with my girlfriend. Should have taken my own advice and stayed at the Galleon. I am in food service so tipped for food I could not each but as a KW regular I will vote with my feet and not return . Below is the sunset view from the Galleon.

Quite scenic and also very bustling (a number of party boats went by including a schooner that sailed past and fired off a friendly "shot"). HTF has a good wine list and cocktail menu. The Tequila Old Fashioned was very good, smoky with the round, big cube. For starters, we tried the Seared Catch triple-tail small plate which was excellent and the Vegetable Risotto salad, which was hearty, yet light. For mains we tried Grilled Key West Pink Shrimp because I wanted to try local catch. It was very good, served on top of creamy grits with Manchego cheese. We were looking for a funky vibe, but something a bit more low-key and off the beaten path. After browsing Yelp, we landed on Flaming Buoy! I'll admit, when we first pulled up, we were a little hesitant. The exterior wasn't particularly inviting, and we wondered if we'd made the right choice. But once we stepped inside, we were pleasantly surprised! We loved the eclectic decor, dim lighting, and laid-back atmosphere. The menu had so many unique options, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Our waiter was also tending bar, but he didn't miss a beat. He was quick-witted, friendly, attentive, and clearly knew how to keep things moving. Food came out quickly, and the entire experience was just what we were hoping for. We sat at the bar and started with the grilled marinated key west pink shrimp appetizer with a spicy lime chutney. The shrimp was cooked nice and plump and the chutney (served on the side in a little funky bowl) spread on top gave it a bit a of kick. The spinach salad was a nice contrast of "greens" to have as an appetizer. For mains, the Key Lime Pasta with (I think) local spiny lobster was great and the Filet Co. Chili Cheese Coney with small beef dogs on a little buns was also good. For dessert, we enjoyed the hot banana honey. The bistro is decorated with Star Wars paraphernalia on the shelves over the bar and you have to check out the bathroom, which was pretty awesome with Star Wars scene complete with flashing lights. The atmosphere is dimly lit and kinda cool and a bit like a speak easy. I'd give The Flaming Buoy a very strong 4 and highly recommend it as one of the Key's coolest better food oriented restaurants. Good service even after it got busy.

In order to get to Latitudes, you must make a ferry reservation time which is the time for the boat to take you to the island. You can book this on the website. You must place a $50 per person reservation fee to do so, so make sure you are early or it will cost you. Anyway, the ride was fun and many photo opportunities on the way to the island as well as on the island. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting overlooking the gorgeous ocean view. If the weather is nice, request outdoor seating on your reservation notes. Also indicate the occasion you are celebrating if it applies. As for our edibles, everything was so delicious, fresh and carefully sourced. We started out with the AHI TUNA TARTARE- which had two crispy and thin plantain chips, avocado, capers, mango, pomegranate seeds, cured egg yolk, sweet chili vinaigrette. Our next course was the MAINE LOBSTER BISQUE- sweet sherry, lobster chunks, crostini, micro herbs, and paprika oil. It had such a rich lobster flavor with many Maine Lobster Chunks. To keep with a seafood theme, our third course was the PAN-ROASTED MUSSELS- spanish chorizo, sweet onions, blistered tomatoes, sherry, chili flakes, evoo. Delicious tomatoes to accompany the mussels and all went well with the Crostini's. For our main course, we had the MAINE LOBSTER COBB- mesclun greens, haricots verts, candied nueske's bacon, heirloom tomato, kalamata olives, roasted corn, cucumber, chopped eggs, mango-mint yogurt dressing, and a large amount of a Maine Lobster Salad. To finalize the memorable lunch, we chose the ESPRESSO CHEESECAKE- caramel sauce, chocolate tuile, which we thought would be a complimentary dessert to celebrate our 40Th Anniversary, but the only thing complimentary was the chocolate piece that said, "Happy Anniversary ". Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or not, I recommend visiting Latitudes at Sunset Key in Key West Florida.
