Overall our stay was good and I would recommend staying here if you are in Key West. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and assisted in getting us checked in and to our room. Check out was easy and overall each interaction was positive. The room that we stayed in (27) was furnished well, overall clean, and the shower was great. It's obvious that this place has been around a while but equally obvious they try to keep it up. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the second morning we were there and it was good and certainly an added benefit. We did enjoy the open-air restaurant area. Probably the only downside is the pool. The idea of the pool is great and they do close it before the dinner rush, but you are literally swimming next to the dining tables, which made it less appealing to go in and I ended up not even using it, which was a shame as it's a lovely area. We did enjoy lounging by it a couple of times though. read more

Our stay went well. Hotel is on a good spot on Duval street in an area not quite as crazy. Eric the manager was very helpful with maps and recommendations. Room was comfortable and spacious. After a long day touring KW we took a refreshing dip in the pool. Breakfast was complimentary with fresh brewed coffee. Had dinner one night and it was pretty good. Only negative was the evening free entertainment was a singer who was a little off key and quite loud. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Places a tradition in key West. Stopped in on a very hot and humid July afternoon. Asked about a frozen drink as a bartender turn around and looked at the blender which was all clean and put away in the corner. When I told her I would not want to dirty the machine just for me so I'll think of something else. She insisted on making it and it was outstanding. Thank you for going above and beyond. She did it with a smile and no attitude. That's hard to find these days. Only went to the bar but at a glance everything else looks spotless and very high class. Right in the heart of Duvall Street Very unique hotel. The rooms are set around a small courtyard with a heated pool in it. Lots a great shade for sunny Florida days. It has a great open street side bar. An outside restaurant between the bar and swimming pool. There is also a small lobby bar. Upstairs there is a cabaret, doors open around 8 pm and show starts at 9pm. While we were there two different impersonators were alternating their shows. One was a killer Cher, the other a great Lucille Ball- he even portrayed her in a movie. All the staff that we met during our stay were incredibly nice. A couple remembered our names the entire time. Some gave us great suggestions for around the area. Rooms are decorated is very bright tropical colors and themes. The space is so comfortable and welcoming. Love the old appeal of the entire facility. The prices were better than many of the larger resort areas around. And the complimentary breakfast was wonderful. The only negatives - no parking on the premise, you need to find street parking that doesn't charge. And that wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Second, the cabaret parties until 11:30 pm and you hear the music in the rooms. Solution- just go party with them !! read more

La Te Da has captured the Key West vibe to perfection. It has a laid-back atmosphere with the most accommodating staff to name a few but not all the managers Kevin and Luna, bartender Samantha, servers Milan, Thomas and Joseph. The rooms are comfortable, commodious and clean. Outside the rooms is a white tablecloth outdoor dining where you can enjoy your meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The pool which is adjacent to the outdoor dining area is perfect offset to the days sun. La Te Da has evening entertainment which can be enjoyed from both the indoor and outdoor bars. Wow! They have definitely updated this place since the last time I was here in 2013. Christopher is the new owner and totally updated the whole place. We always thought this place was a gem but needed some help, but the new owner definitely made it happen. The price isn't too bad either, I prefer this place over any mainstream hotel. Located right on Duval st but on the quieter part of the street. Closest to southern most point. The rooms are nice, bed are comfy and clean. The bathrooms are a little different and one giant shower room but nothing bad. There's a small pool that you can lounge and be in, and the bar isn't too far. The bar staff is super fun and friendly! We met Cathy, Carlos and Ashley. All awesome! The restaurant was always jamming! Brunch and dinner! We only have brunch here and didn't try dinner but heard good things. They have the piano bar at 8:30pm almost every night, so if you want a quiet place in the evening. Then this isn't your place. Such a good value for this place. Highly recommend it! My fiancé and I stayed here right around the Spring Break time for college students. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely reserve this room again. It certainly has the Key West charm and the customer service level of a big name. It looks more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. There are rooms on both floors that are all connected to the outside restaurant area with a pool in the middle. We had the whole balcony to ourselves since the room next to us was not reserved. We stayed in the Fish Room which was furnished perfectly. King size bed with a king size shower. Small TV but we were not in Key West to watch TV. Since all the rooms are in close proximity to the restaurant it can be kind of nosy but no problem for me. They have fun stuff set up all day including singers at night. However they always wrap things up around 11:30 pm. I was happy that they had Cabaret shows at night! Those tickets you do have to purchase and I would do so a few days before. This place was a little pricey but worth it if you want to be on Duval street. We only stayed 3 nights so it was no problem. Breakfast is included in the room charge so use it! It's a limited menu but enough choices to find something. read more

BEST HOTEL EVER!!! THE HOST MATT IS INCREDIBLE me and my beau decided on a spontaneous trip from South Beach. Spoke with Matt on the phone on the drive over to key west. Most hotels were no vacancy and most hotel host weren't even friendly on the phone, but Matt treats you like family. Not only did Matt take care of us on the phone with compassion, he was even friendlier and more gracious in person. The hotel is beautiful whoever did the decor really took their time with great details and really loves this place. The pool is in the heart of the hotel. Breakfast in the morning taste like your grandmother made it. We had La Te Dah eggs and biscuits and gravy. It was so good we licked the plate clean. Our bartender was Deya. She is sweet as a peach !!! Our room had two beds, the beds were like sleeping in a hammock . The shower is really cool lots of space. Our room was right in front of the pool, It's a great view from the room. At breakfast Matt came by to ask how our night was, which was great and Matt gave us suggestions to do for the whole day. He suggested from Bike rentals to telling us about the butterfly sanctuary, to where the best spot was at the fort Zachary Taylor beach. Deya also gave us suggestions to add to filling up our day. We have been coming to key west for years and never had such good service as this hotel!!! This hotel puts the hotels to shame and whoever owns this we just want to really thank you for such great service. Even though the only names we remember are Matt and Deya, I want to thank the rest of the staff as well for being friendly and always smiling! You have a great team. Let me start off by saying this was our second visit to Key West We came last year with friends, and we're not able to get a room at La Ta Da. We prepared this year a little better and we're so glad we did!!! It's starts when you arrive and are literally escorted to your room. The pride that all the team show in a job well done, the attention to detail, and the fantastic atmosphere push this Gem over the top. I could not have asked for better service, they make you feel like your family visiting. We are hooked and can't imagine staying anywhere else. The restaurant is amazing , do try the crab cakes !!! The coffee in the morning is beyond delicious and the breakfast.... Well all I can say is I cleared my plate every morning. Thank you La Te Da family, we will be back soon read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! I stayed here with my fiance for a friend's wedding on the island over this past wknd; basically the whole hotel was rented out to accommodate the bridal party. I loved everything here!!!! The ambiance reminded me of 60's; the white European plantation estate, shrinked and scooped right out of south and placed in Key West. The pool in the middle was just a nice touch to make this place perfect!!! :D Since we had the entire hotel to ourselves, we had lots of fun, pool partying and canon balling into the pool every night with beer and cocktails! We had the complimentary breakfast every morning and we had the options of the classic american, french toast, and vanilla yogurt with fruits and they were all very good. The room was nice too! My only complain is the wifi situation, where we had one spot in the room for full reception. But! since we were on a vacay, I didnt care too much. :) The location was very convenient; not too far, not too close to the busiest part of the town. I could easily walk to the hotel after bar hopping on my high heels. The staff are extremely nice and helpful as well and I definitely recommend this place to anyone, desiring to stay somewhere outside of cookie-cuttered, franchised place. read more

Came down for a much needed vacation with my best friend, following my first year of (stress-inducing, soul-rending) grad school. We were only staying for a quick weekend, but life is short so we wanted to go the fancy AF route. Cue La Te Da. The most majestic, the most gay, and the most classy boutique hotel in the Key West (Gay) Art District. We stayed in room 27 because too much is never enough. It has it's own porch, pool adjacent and is just about as glam as it gets. Just don't think about all the kinky sex that has inevitably happened on the very comfortable bed you'll be sleeping on. Central air is also very good and efficient. Breakfast is complimentary, plated, and very very good--they give you a choice of three options and replaced my bacon with fruit no problem (I'm vegetarian). If you would like to have dinner at their restaurant or attend their in-house drag shows (which are highly reviewed, but we didn't get back in time to catch it), they give you first dibs for reservations. Go here to propose to your honey, gay, straight, whatever. It's gorgeous, glam, and totally all-things Key West. Four stars because you WILL pay for what you get. read more

Highly recommend La Te Da Hotel. This place is an amazing value. It feels like you're in Key West because the whole vibe IS Key West. Rattan furniture. White decor. It's small, but clean and comfortable. A pool is on site. It's super close to walk to wherever you need to go, but without being on top of the bars and parties taking place. LOVED that. Breakfast is available in the morning and I can't believe we missed it, but in the bar they have a drag show. Our visit to Key West was WAY too short, but when I do go back, I'll be booking at La Te Da. It's AWESOME. Only think to be prepared for is parking can be a bear. Take care that you don't park somewhere that is someone else's space while you're parking on the street because you WILL get a parking ticket. Can't wait to go back. read more

I love everything about this place. The rooms are absolutely beautiful (& clean) and you really can't beat the rates - definitely better than anything else on Duval. Both my hubs and I went to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and we had *such* an amazing time hanging out at the outdoor bar with all the extremely friendly bartenders and every morning at our complimentary breakfast, which consisted of the BEST eggs benedict I have ever had in my entire life. The staff is amazing both in service and friendliness. The included breakfast is fantastic and eating outside with the warm breeze is a great way to start your day in Key West. You must catch either Randy Roberts or Christopher Peterson...both their shows are fab-u-lous. And, each will stay after the show for autographs and photos. We got lucky and got the last room available at La Te Da on a Friday Night!!! We were so happy we found this place at the last minute on our way into Key West. Chris at the front desk was more than accommodating, giving us the luxury room for the economy price, since it was the last room. Our room was great, beautiful hardwood floors and great bathroom with private toilet and large sink/mirror and JACUZZI TUB!!!! on a balcony overlooking the courtyard swimming pool and 3 levels of sundecks (the top deck is clothing optional). Their complimentary breakfast is served poolside every morning and you can choose from 3 different plated meals, FREE! They also have great music and entertainment nightly. Our bartender, Mindy, was awesome too! We loved our experience sooo much we decided to stay an extra night! If I'm ever in The Keys again, La Te Da is my first choice for hospitality. I would bring $ for cash tips, though. As you will want to tip your breakfast servers and cleaning staff. read more

One of the highlights of my trip to Key West was our hotel stay at La Te Da. It was probably one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed in, simply because of the amazing open-air layout. Palm trees, pool, wooden deck, outdoor tables and bar ... our hotel room opened directly onto the patio. It was magical. The room was spacious and clean. One complaint was the bed was not very comfortable and the shower was a bit of a surprise - absolutely no door or curtain. Anyone laying in the second bed could have a clear view of the shower. I think we know what this room was designed for!! Another complaint about our room: it was right next to their walk-in cooler which delivery people and staff would enter and exit every morning. It was terribly loud and woke us up every time. Not much they can do about it but it was not very enjoyable. Another perk about this restaurant is the free breakfast. You have a choice from a couple menu options, coffee and juice. All included. It's pretty good but obviously not as good as some of the surrounding restaurants. Still, who can argue with a free breakfast? Order a mimosa for about $9 - expensive but delicious. The hotel also has a lively and beautiful bar overlooking Duval Street. Busy with an older crowd every night. Live music and a piano bar. They also have a Cabaret but we did not have the chance to check it out this time around. If I return to Key West (I mean *when* I return), I would definitely stay here again. read more

We stayed memorial day weekend at La Te Da, I do not know if I will go again unless I can get a room there. Christopher the owner, is such an incredible person. Fun, hard working and a man who knew our names, where else do you get that. His staff is incredible, beautiful rooms, great bars, great food and great entertainment. We cannot wait to go back. Great boutique hotel located right on Duval Street where everything happens. The staff here is wonderful. All are so friendly and willing to help out in any way. They have wonderful rooms with very comfortable beds and strong showers. They bar is situated outside close to the street where you can have a drink and people watch. Nice pool which I didn't have a chance to go into which i;m regretting but theres so much to do in Key West it was hard to find the time. I have complementary breakfast everyday which consist of three choices: american breakfast, french toast or fruit salad. Comes with juice and coffee. My husband and I stayed here (along with the rest of the bridal party) for a wedding this past weekend. We LOVED it. If you are looking for tons of amenities or an upgraded/modern resort, this is not the place for you. But if you love Key West charm, a great location and service with a smile, I definitely recommend giving La Te Da a try. Chris and Eric at the front desk were AMAZING. Totally above and beyond and so accommodating. The restaurant and bar staff were super nice, breakfast each morning was awesome (and complimentary!), the La Te Da Limeade was a group favorite and the pool was the perfect retreat between functions. It felt like no matter where we had to be we were always within 1 mile, which was awesome as we walked everywhere. There was live music in the evenings and overall we had a great experience. Absolutely love LTD. The first time my wife and I visited Key West, we stayed at the Marriott on the north end of the island. On our most recent trip, we decided to stay on Duval and picked LTD since we liked the bar so much the last time we were there. For me, their bartender, Tonto, is what makes this place my favorite. Always great conversation and a lot of fun hanging with her no matter if it is day or night. My cousin and I enjoyed our night caps shooting the breeze with her. The hotel is actually pretty nice as well. The room was a good size. This isn't a place where everything is modern and new. It is an old building with slightly dated furnishings. Don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I love that it is on a quiet end of Duvall street. For the money, you can't go wrong. read more

We had a fabulous experience at La Te Da. The rooms were absolutely charming - unique, with their own little quirks of character. This isn't a tradition hotel/motel, which was the primary reason we stayed. If you want a cookie-cutter, traditional hotel room, stay elsewhere. But if you want the truly experience the spirit and culture of Key West, La Te Da is the place for you. The service is outstanding, the rooms are clean, and the entertainment is very "Key West." No where else in Key West offers this level of experience at this price-point. The only thing I wish this place had was a hot tub...maybe next year? We stayed in Room 19, which featured two queen beds and a handicap-accessible shower. We originally wanted one of the luxury rooms, but this was all they had left. The bathroom is in excellent condition, however, it is separated from the rest of the room by a sliding/folding closet-like door and there is no shower curtain or door. As I stated before, the room has its unique quirks which is to be expected when staying at charming places like this. The door opened up into the outdoor dining area and bar and featured a cute little patio set that we took full advantage of. We drank our own beer while people watching and when we wanted a cocktail, we walked over to the bar and ordered from the friendly cocktail waitress. Top it all off with the complimentary made-to-order breakfast, La Te Da offers an enchanting experience. What we saved in the price of the room, we paid back on their pricey, but delicious dinner and drink menus. Do some pre-drinking in your room or on your patio, and you'll have yourself a very affordable place to stay and have fun! read more

This place rules. The rooms are beautiful and great for the price, and they surround the pool. Enormous comfortable bed. Cost included a sit-down breakfast that exceeds anything I have ever seen at a hotel. White linen tablecloth, fancy coffee, a full meal. And you are outside. In Key West. There are three bars and a restaurant or two here. We spent a lot of time in the main bar in the front and the bartender was awesome. Very friendly, gave us a ton of free shit and mixed up all kinds of great drinks. He even told me where to get a good haircut on the island. I will never stay anywhere else in Key West. read more

I have lived in Key West for 9 years now and there are many wonderful places to eat, drink, dance and enjoy our beautiful weather..... But at The 'Da (as we locals call it) you can do it all and still be on Duval in the middle of all the action. While they have amazing food, spectacular cabaret and dazzling live entertainment at the piano bar (Deborah and Patrick are sublime), you should never miss Tea Dance every Sunday from 4-6. There is a different theme every week and as always the bartenders will take wonderful care of you (lovely to see Gina in her Gems.... You will have to go to figure that one out)! read more
