There was live music playing, pool tables, and even some video games, so there's plenty to keep you and the family entertained while you hang out. Kids are allowed in, but they aren't allowed to sit at the bar. It definitely feels like one of those places where you can lose track of time in the best way. They also have a merch area with hoodies, stickers, and other souvenirs if you want to take a little piece of the experience home. And knowing it's one of the oldest bars in the Keys just adds to the charm and history of the place. The service was quick, you walk up to the bar and order then find a place to sit. Like the ones with: stadium seating, the hottest new action movies, long lines for popcorn, overpriced tickets, electric chairs with lots of space, huge parking lot with only room in the back, lots of high schoolers hanging around WELL THIS IS NOT THAT PLACE This is more like a movie theatre you expect back in the 50's It'a a non-profit with lots of volunteers and the best staff ever. They treat everyone lovingly and talk about movies with passion. The snack counter is small but so is the whole place so there is rarely a line and even when that does happen it's really short. They do get some new releases but this is not what you should come for; ask what they recommend; special movies with lower budgets and more cinematic talent is their thing here.

She blew her whistle at people who were quietly talking to each other in an alley while she droned on with a boring anecdote because she was butt hurt they didn't want to listen to her. Reading is fundamental. We did the pub crawl as a shore excursion with our cruise. The guy who checked us in was friendly enough but the women passing out the shirts really were not. They seemed annoyed that people weren't sure where to go/what to do. Our guide was Sarah and she was insufferable. In addition to her annoying voice, she ordered everyone around like an angry school teacher that needed to retire - right down to blowing a whistle. There were mounted police outside one of the bars and Sarah told everyone we would wait for the horses to leave before we crossed the street. She said not to block the walkway which I assume many people must have thought she meant the sidewalk. When we went inside, some people lined up at the bar. Instead of telling everyone where to wait and directing them, she just kept repeatedly SCREAMING at everyone not to block the walkway. Later when she was telling another (eye roll) story, a couple people were talking to each other and Sarah started blowing her whistle as if they were naughty children on the playground - not GROWN ADULTS WHO PAID FOR THIS EXPERIENCE. The bars and bartenders were pretty good except for Irish Kevin's. The female bartenders acted really put out for something that was paid for. No hello, no thank you, no garnish, no straw. They sure pushed that tip cup in front of us but we decided to match their energy and pass on the tip since we didn't want to be troubled either. The positives: we got a decent t-shirt and Hard Rock gave us free, albeit ugly, glasses. The bartender there seemed awfully tip hungry for someone who poured a premade drink from a pitcher. The rest of the bartenders were pretty friendly though. Overall, we wish we would have bar hopped on our own. It would have been much more pleasant and we heard others saying the same. Sarah really owes everyone an apology.
