They have a show and 9 & 11 but we weren't able to check it out but heard it was good. Their drinks were really good too, especially the Peach on the Beach! I saw a Google review that said highly recommended so we popped in. It was $8 for a strawberry margarita that didn't taste like the liquor was tequila. It tasted like vodka. We also ordered a Grey Goose dirty martini, which tasted just okay. The bartender was friendly but working solo so was handling music, customers, bartending, and barback duties. Our last trip to Key West we had walked by 801 but it was so late we decided not to go and boy did we make up for it this time. We stopped into 801 for a drink midday during our honeymoon and I was hooked. The ambiance was amazing, the bartenders were so friendly (Alvin, we miss you in NC!), and the drinks were delicious! We went into 801 3-4 more times that week and 2/4 were for drag shows which were AMAZING. The performers there are so much fun, and so interactive. We went to one during the week which was pretty laid back, definitely a lot more chill and quiet. We then went to one the Friday before we left and it was BOOMING. Every chair in there was filled. There is a bar upstairs too which is nice because we didn't have to go back downstairs for drinks. We ended up sitting VIP on Friday and I can't even put into words how amazing the show was. This place is so inclusive (like the majority of Key West) and it was so calming and fun to be in a space where I knew I would be welcomed and accepted. We will definitely be back!! read more

We had general admission for the "show". Purchased general admission tickets. When we arrived the host told one of the Queens where to seat us. Great seats but, we noticed a reserved maker on the table. I have no problem moving but instead of being "reseated" the host told (total rude ass) we had to move. We've stopped in a couple of different times on day trips to Key West. The place is a little divey. The bartender is nice enough. When we were there last time karaoke was happening. It was a small crowd so it was nice being out of the mayhem of some of the other bars on Duval. I don't think they gave food. I've never written a bad review in my life, but this made it necessary. I love LGBTQ+ bars because the atmosphere and service is always the best and most fun, but this was easily the worst and most rude service experience I've had in my life. My girlfriend and I walk in and sit down at the bar and for 20 minutes (no exaggeration, we checked the time) the two bartenders are showing each other videos and laughing while occasionally getting drinks for others. Eventually, the bartender comes up to us and asks "Are you good?" and I say light heartedly that we'd love a drink. He says he'll be right with us and then goes around for another 5 minutes to do other things. Finally he asks us what we want and I say "What's your cheapest beer?" and he says "We are NOT starting off that way." and walks off. We fully thought he was joking, but no he proceeds to gather drink orders from other people for over 5 minutes without any eye contact or anything. We eventually realize he was fully serious so we left. The man who served us had a brown beard and tattoos. Wow. What a disappointment. Spanks On! If there was any themed vibe I would have from my Key West visit is that they love drag. Bourbon Bar is close to its competitor but seemingly not as upscale. Perhaps the Uptown ladies go one place and the others congregate here. In addition to the show, you can get some decent drinks. The service here (expect for the drag queens) was abysmal. The bar tender couldn't be bothered. The man admitting people to the drag show was just rude. I'm not straight. I didn't feel welcome here. It's frustrating, and I'm a bit hurt by the reception we got. I didn't need a red carpet, but basic respect was expected. The show down the street was much more accommodating. We stopped in here over the July 4th weekend during happy hour. I had been to gay-centric Provincetown, MA countless times and ALWAYS wanted to go to a drag show, but never did. So when I saw the friendly drag queens outside, I was curious to see the free show they were advertising. We had our small dog with us and we were able to bring him in too! Bonus! We chatted with a few of the other friendly customers at the bar. Knocking off a star since this place allows smoking. :( I don't mind if someone smokes the occasional cigarette around me, but it was just TOO much with the amount of smoking going on here. We arrived about 20 minutes before the drag show began. The happy hour drink specials were good. We each had a frozen drinks for $5. I don't remember the details, but I think they did have some kind of good deal on one beer as well, so it's worth asking about. We stuck around to watch 2 of the drag queen performances. The guy that performed the Britney Spears song "Circus" was great and very animated. We also got a kick out of "Cher." I was very impressed by the makeup and outfits!
