801 Bourbon Bar was my first drag show experience ever (and its only $10 per person!!) In one night I sat through two showings and if there was a third I probably would have ordered another drink and sat through that one as well, the drags who work here are hilarious and worth seeing. This establishment is made up of two floors - main floor bar + upper level drag show bar The bartenders were quick and attentive - I give the waitresses a lot of respect having to deal with overly drunk bachelorettes and birthday girls. One random call out is if you ever order a vodka and Red Bull here you will literally get a glass of vodka and a can of red bull - I was pretty confused by this. I ended up trying to pour the vodka in the red bull can and take sips. read more

I am giving this review solely based on the drag performance on Friday night that started at 11 pm. It was 20 dollars per person and we were already focused on having a fun night so we agreed on it as a group although we never paid a cover for a drag performance anywhere else. If this is your first ever drag show, you probably will have fun, as most people did because it was their first, as they made the whole club know. I don't like to bring any gay club down but if you charge $20 per person, it better be at least a mediocre show. This. Was. Really. Bad. Sorry ladies. This. Was. Really. Bad. Except the lady who sang, who clearly had some experience in the scene... I think I will stop right here.... just. I wish I didn't waste my money. That's all. read more

My sister and I came here all the way from Miami just for the show. During the day nobody told us that we had to reserve. We came back at 10:30 on Saturday august 8th and the "gentleman" at the door told us that they were full and there were 12 people in waiting list. So I told him to put us in waiting list and he was like "there's almost no chance at all". I insisted because we had literally came down to Key West Just for the show and he was like increasingly annoyed and super rude "stop. I already told you we're full so just leave". Came here twice - once for Sunday night bingo and Monday night drag show. Had a great experience at both! I won a cheesy gift in bingo and loved the comedy/banter of the staff. The drag show was the highlight! Raunchy, yet tasteful. The ladies who performed were one point and fierce AF. Lovely group and funny as hell! A few things that could have been better - the bathrooms are sketch and had one bartender that couldn't be bothered. Aside from that everything else was wonderful! read more

Spent my vacation in Key West and the 801 Bourbon Bar was my favorite place to go for a drink and good music! the atmosphere was upbeat and very friendly. Drag show was overall fun , more like a comedy show than like a true talent show. My group was very easy to pick on as we were all in vintage wedding dresses for my Bach party. Bar service was great and we were frequently checked on. read more

AMAZING IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! My sisters and I brought our mom to her first drag show for her 50th birthday and we had a blast. The entrance fee to the show (11pm on a Saturday night) was more affordable than what I anticipated. The staff was so nice. Especially Justin the bartender upstairs! He really took care of us and made our night extremely special. The queens were to DIE for! The host was comical and SO good at her craft. We really had a blast and 801 bourbon bar was the highlight of our night. p.s. baby eileen really needs some pointers, please help her keep the energy. read more

I reserved a spot for my friend's bachelorette party online - it was a little over $10 a ticket, and then we each just paid $5 more for VIP right by the stage. Totally worth it! There's a bar downstairs and the show is upstairs. This is a very intimate venue. The show was great and so fun. read more

This was my first time in Key West and this place was recommended by our server at Havanna Jack's. I have to say, the place itself is a little on the older side and could use a refresh with the interior, HOWEVER, the show was AMAZING! The drinks were on point and the girls were highly entertaining. The show was high energy and the girls never missed a beat. My server was right. Best show! read more

The drag show was so so, some performers were better than the other, basically all they do is lip sync and dance. The surrounding sound was not great, it's time for an upgrade. Tickets has to be purchased online, I felt $20 entrance fee pp was a little pricey for the show. The $10 mixed drinks were disappointing as well, it was one of the worst drinks I had in a long time. read more

Had a blast attending a drag show here last Saturday night. My partner and I had a great time talking to the bar tender and Queens, the show was killer! The night got even better... I asked my partner to help me go to the restroom, as I was wearing a corset that zipped in front. It was the perfect outfit until....the zipper got caught. We struggled for awhile and eventually had to ask the bartender for a pair of pliers. Once word got out of my outfit fail, the Queens were at my rescue. Puddin, especially!! We had met her a couple nights prior and we instantly clicked! Puddin lent me a cute black dress, saving my outfit! Another queen also lent me her dress, she was the DJ for the show. Shout out to all of the fabulous humans who helped me that night. Had a great time and a wonderful night. Smooches!! read more

Came to key west for a quick vacation with a girl friend. We were nervous it wouldn't be worth it and we would feel uncomfortable. SOO glad we came here, both first time at a drag show and had so much fun and lots of laughs!! 100% recommend. (Don't bring boyfriend unless he will play along) Bring money for tips!!! read more

The drag show is so much fun! My group went as one of the stops for a bachelorette party and had a really good time. These drag queens really know how to entertain! Their numbers are well choreographed and hysterical. The nitty-gritty: the drag show is upstairs and they also have a bar downstairs that we didn't spend any time at. We paid a $10 per person cover and sat at the upstairs bar to watch the show. We were extremely entertained and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a slightly different night life scene. I won't give away too much of the show, but if anyone can put together a performance of Mahna Mahna from the Muppets, it'll be these drag queens. A Key West must-see! read more

Before traveling to Key West, we puchased a "Bar Card" that entitled us to 2 for 1 drinks at a number of establishments. 801 Bourbon Bar was one of them. And while they allegedly participate, we were charged $13/drink for well drinks in plastic glasses. Seriously. What a coincidence that their drinks were twice the going rate of every other bar on the island. On the plus side, the bartender was friendly and the crowd was fun. read more

We go to 801 Bourbon Bar every time we go to Key West and this trip was special as it was Fantasy Fest. We popped by to see a spectacular show on the main floor and it was free. But it was completely packed so we couldn't really get in the door. Later that night we decided to pay to see the show upstairs. After paying the $10 cover, we headed up and got a front row seat. The show was very good. I saw things I had not seen before on stage, but I'll leave it at that. Were we younger we would have stayed for the 11 pm show as they do something different but we headed back to the hotel. Everyone should stop by 801 if only one time to get the drag queen experience. read more

801 Bourbon was our first drag show while on the island. The show was not bad, but it was not as polished as some of the shows we saw later in the week. My biggest complaint is the amount of penis I saw in a drag show. One queen was performing a song in which she flashed her cock at the audience, which is fine and fit in with the shock factor, especially with that song. But she flashed gain, and again, and again. Then later for a different song she did a twirl and whoops, there's penis again. Call me crazy but I don't want to be regularly seeing a drag queen's dick. All that being said, the bartender this night was great. We returned the next night for drag bingo. This was a much more enjoyable experience. Proceeds went to charity in support of One Human Family. It was a fun time. The hostess was phenomenal and funny. There was unexpected pizza and shots being sent around the bar. The regulars and their participation just added to the experience. This review is tricky because of my distinctly different experiences. If I were only reviewing the drag show, this would be a 3/5, and if I were only reviewing the bingo it would be 5/5. Be warned, as with all the drag shows I saw on the island, there are much fewer gays than expected. read more

Such a great show! Maybe one of the best drag shows I've seen. Ever. I'm not kidding. I've seen plenty of tired, unrehearsed, poorly costumed and untalented queens and this is NOT the case at 801. The girls are on fire, hilarious, beautifully dressed and really got their routines going on! I went with a friend who goes every year for his B-Day and we were sat right in the front with amazing seats. Anyone in the audience who has a special event - definitely call ahead and let them know, so you can try to get a reserved seat in the front. And remember to leave your shyness and modesty at the door, as you may just be dragged up on stage (pun intended). In fact - special event or not, try to get as close to the front as possible, so you can really get in to the show. I don't want to give away too much about the show, so I'll keep it short and sweet. But trust me Yelps, if you are looking for great adult entertainment, that's raunchy and raucous, then 801 is you spot. read more

Seeing a drag show was the number 1 thing I wanted to do in Keys West. I made the mistake of going to 801 first, because it made my expectations too high for Aqua. The customer service was top notch. The host was very memorable even though I forgot her name, (Cher and played an extra Whitney song at the end). She interacted with the crowd and made sure everyone enjoyed her show. 5 days later I'm still envious of how beautiful Epiphany is, and I was sober during the show. 801 upheld all the COVID rules and guidelines while still making it a fun time for everyone. I can not express how kind and hospitable everyone was and firmly believe 801 is a must for anyone visiting Key West. read more

We went to the early drag show last night and found ourselves laughing the entire time! My fiancée had never been to a drag show before and was very hesitant to even go, but he even laughed the whole time and admitted he had a great time! Also, to my surprise, the drinks were very comparably priced to all the other Duval bars. If you have virgin ears then this probably isn't the show for you, but if your looking to laugh for little over an hour then this is the place. read more

Everyone was so nice & friendly & my fiancé & I had a great time. It was both our first time at a drag club & we had a blast considering the fact that alcohol wasn't allowed to be served during the show. It normally is, but with covid the rules had changed a little. The show was hilarious if you're into raunchy & loose humor. We'll definitely stop by there again. read more

I love this bar but this last time the drinks were pricey. Definitely cheaper then other key west bars but for a gay dive bar, I was kind of unimpressed with my bill. Still a great drag show and worth the cover. Being a drag queen is expensive. read more

I give this joint 3 stars because of the fartfactory working the "cabaret" booth for upstairs. So dang rude. I asked what's going on up there RIGHT NOW, OBVIOUSLY knowing it was cabaret and obvious able to read the signs right infront of my face. He acted as if I was dumb and pointed to the sign and posters. Poor business ethic, and lost business for the entertainment. Sad for them. Plus he farted. Loudly, as walking away. But the bartender was phenomenal!!!! Great drinks. Key west read more

I'll start with the positives and then get to the negatives and rank them in order. Positives: 1. The palm trees and lush vegetation. 2. The decorations for pride and their 50th anniversary. 3. The food is still reasonably good, although the prime rib came out cold. 4. The rooms have been generally remodeled to be more modern. Negatives: 1. The room is cool in the morning, warms up by late afternoon, is hot by 9 PM, and doesn't start to cool back off until 2:30 AM. 2. The bar staff plays Spanish music only all day until you ask the front desk to have it switched to English to which the bar staff takes offense. 3. The bar staff is more interested in watching the FIFA soccer tournament than actually waiting on any guests. 4. The further you went back into the room away from the front door the weaker the Wi-Fi signal got until there was no signal. 5. The soap dispenser leaked onto the towels hanging on the towel bar below it. Instead of having it fixed, the towels were put on the floor. 6. The gang shower between the gym, indoor Jacuzzi, and steam room area smells like sewage. 7. The sitting area above the stairway and at the end of the hall next to room 210 is covered in and reeks of pigeon feces. See attached pic. Although the front desk and management are responsive, it used to be that these things were taken care of without guests needing to point them out or request they be fixed. Not sure if it's due to staff turnover and/or management turnover but hopefully this review will be taken seriously and help future guests as we will not be coming back anytime soon. My overall rating is a 1 because the negatives far outweigh the positives in importance for the price you pay. And when prices are raised, you would expect the service level would raise as well or at least stay the same, which, in this case has not. Please remember that you're in the HOSPITALITY SERVICE industry. This is basically lipstick on a pig.

My dessert was a huge phallus, impressive and grand, With two giant balls resting beneath it in hand. It was covered in "splooge sauce," a curious sweet stream, A dessert of such drama it belonged in a dream! I truly enjoyed this place and would gladly return If I lived nearby, where the sweet candles burn. But it's not too much or too little. The seating is comfortable and private. Our server was very nice, he checked in at all the right times and was sweet. We only ordered one dessert and it got there promptly. Everything on the menu looked excellent and delicious. We settled on the cookie nookie cake, it was super fresh with many contrasting flavors that made every bite a pleasure. Overall had an amazing time and recommend this place for anything from a late night dessert or a full dessert meal. If we're ever around again, we are definitely going back and trying a lot more than just one dessert.

There's a small hallway to another bar area that was closed. The real magic is the outside. They don't have a many craft beers. The outside is huge. It's partly a motel. There's another bar, a decent size pool, tons of seating, and a stage. I believe the pool party was earlier. It was also winter. This would be a fun place to see filled!

Very disappointing visit to 801. Have visited Key West many times in the past and I'm afraid this bar has seen it's day. $10 cover was a waste of money to see booger drag! If you're straight or you've never seen drag this place may be acceptable, or if you're looking for unfriendly staff with attitude (bartenders and drag queens like) this is the place for you. Staff is so concerned with tips that they fail to recognize that personality, friendliness & performance go far. I'm really bummed I took my gang here and wasted $100... the guy at the desk was a miserable jerk, we almost didn't go in bc he was so rude but we decided to try it out. So much fun here. They have to drag shows, one at 9 PM and the second one is at 11 PM be sure to make reservations in advance. Otherwise you'll miss an opportunity for some great entertainment. read more

The dance floor was usually pretty full with people dancing and even though there are signs everywhere saying "no drinks on the floor" everyone had drinks out there. Lots of flashing lights and fog really set the "club" atmosphere. There were a bunch of little tables to sit (or stand) at if you didn't feel like dancing. Overall a good place to stop with reasonably priced drinks.
