I would give 20 stars if possible for the amazing hostess Sasha!!!!!!! Unfortunately, the other drag queens were way less talented/entertaining, so rounding down to 4 stars overall. My friends and I came for their drag show on Saturday night that started at 11pm and went until 1am ($10/person). I believe they have an earlier show from 9pm-11pm. Come early if you want to guarantee having a seat- otherwise, you'll have to stand for the majority of the show, until people start leaving. The upstairs area was packed, and there wasn't much room to move around. I wish the stage was higher so that you can see the drag queens if you're standing by the bar- I'm pretty short, so it was hard to see them fully when they're moving around during their performances. They allow photographs and videos, so take advantage, especially with the amazing Sasha!! She is super talented and beautiful, and channels Beyonce. However, this show is NOT for the closed minded or easily offended. Sasha starts and ends the show topless, and there were some raunchy jokes and acts. Aside from the amazing Sasha, the other drag queens were very boring- I didn't even recognize most of the songs, and one was a creepy metal type song, which I thought brought down the energy of the show. They really need at least one other drag queen that can help add to Sasha's acts- she deserves the lion's share of the tips!! Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking out the drag show at 801 Bourbon Bar for a fun night! read more

My girlfriend and I almost passed this bar up, but the music and red lighting backed us up and pulled us like a trance. I felt light and at home here. The drinks were reasonable, we were in such good company and had a blast at the show. Be aware, you will more than likely be flashed - all in good fun though! We will definitely visit 801 again on our next trip to KW. read more

I love this bar but this last time the drinks were pricey. Definitely cheaper then other key west bars but for a gay dive bar, I was kind of unimpressed with my bill. Still a great drag show and worth the cover. Being a drag queen is expensive. read more

I am a 4 year local recently new to keywest and I enjoy my hangouts but because of certain events the manager barred me from the the establishment wich I took with a grain of salt and took the punishment But 2018 is a new year and the people I have talked to said new year new chance and I personally believe 90 days is sufficient for what I have done I tried talking to the so called owner and he is trying to say I am not welcome by anyone I don't know if he is holding a personal grudge but I do believe a new change in the way the ownership should be run I think the owner or head bartender should step down or review the situation in fairness read more

Very disappointed with the outcome of this show. Immediately upon arrival, the man at the door was extremely rude and unhappy. It was obvious he did not want to be there. After charging us more than advertised price and saying it wasn't his problem, we were rushed up the stairs for the "show". It was very poorly planned and the outfits were terrible. This is legit one of the main reasons I enjoyed my weekend trip to Key West. This bar, which funny enough was not recommended to us as we were told "the other drag show is better", was in so amazing! I can't even begin to say how off that advice was... Now let me say, I live in NYC, so so so many drags performing at gay bars, and amazing ones at that, yes, could some of the performers at 801 be a bit more polished, yes, could some of them move a bit more than others... yes... but then you have the ones that live for that stage and put their hearts out there! and there was this one drag queen that made me come to both the 9 and 11 show both days I was at KW. Pretty sure she was Sasha Cox. This queen is on her way to full conversion, but fits in perfectly on that stage. The money rained on in, her energy was high and intoxicating... you wanted to take her on a date type presence. The bartenders learned our drinks on the first night and new on the second night without having to ask. The crowd is mixed, with bachelorette parties, married straight couples, swingers, gays, lesbians, bi, moms and sons, I mean.. all types of walks of life and the shows were full. Worst management ever. The bartender was drunk and messed up our order and charged each of my friends 25 dollars for 1 bottle of 25 of champagne. Refused to give us any refunds, and even charged my friend $60 on her card for arguing with them. Total BS. Manager told me he couldn't do anything about it until the next morning and that he would refund us, obviously never did. He was extremely unprofessional and said that we were over reacting for being upset. It was the unwillingness to even listen to us is what pissed me off the most. We left shortly after. I decided to go to my 1st Drag Queen show just to say I been to one and I can tell you honestly that I had a blast! It was a decision that I will never regret. I walked into the 801 Bourbon Bar not knowing what to expect and I was nervous as to what might happen but I kept a very open mind. The ladies were just plain awesome making me feel quite relaxed and comfortable while I was there and their sense of humor was awesome totally wearing off all my inhibitions in no time at all. I pose outside for some pictures, sat inside and enjoyed the bar crowd and a few drinks and than went upstairs to see a rather remarkable show. I love it...plain and simple it was one of the betters decisions I made in my life. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Key West's famous winnebago ....the one who comfortable seats 8 people....yes, it is everyone's favorite RV ..... meet RV Beaumont....and the crowd goes WILD!!!! We were lured in to the Bourbon bar while walking on Duval street after dinner. The ladies were selling tickets outside and invited us to come in. We were early for the 11pm show but sat around the bar to have a drink (or two...or four) RV was the lead drag queen and he was hilarious. The team performed various songs that were altered to funny lyrics. The original singers would be proud! Some examples: 1. My hairy beaver (a take on the classic "you give me fever") 2. Do you want to f*ck my p****hole (a take on Cher's "do you believe in life after love?") 3. Hot flash (a take on another classic "hot stuff") .....and so on I had the best....RV and the team were funny, friendly, and very entertaining. The crowd was mixed....many straight couples and pretty boys. Special mention to Boa, the hipster drag queen from Chicago.....who knew there were hipster drag queens?? Every night of the week is a different show with different performers. I have seen the saturday, sunday, and monday shows....and they all are fabulous! A must see, if you are in Key West! read more

Had a fun time here for a drag show last Saturday night! My husband and our "family" friends made reservations for the 9pm show and really had a good time watching my husband get picked on...a little. We've all been to drag shows, and seen some really good performances, but what we haven't seen are some of the things that make the 801 different from other drag shows. For example, my husband was half-willingly pulled on stage (I can't remember which song), and the drag queen pulled his shirt over his head. Ok, not a big deal, but my husband gets shy showing his chest/back/belly in public. She then unbuttoned his pants and literally started pulling off his pants and boxer briefs, but he caught her before she yanked them down. It was pretty funny, and YES, I tipped her...but that wasn't the type of interaction we expected. We tipped a total of $18 (not counting the tips we added to our drinks), during the 90-minute show. I really thought this was more than just good, especially compared to other groups. It felt like either my husband or I were constantly stuffing bills into the drag queens' cleavages, multiple times, yet they kept flipping us off for tipping in $1 bills. Really? I mean, I get that it's partly tongue-in-cheek when they flip us off, but when they call us assholes a few times and flip us off more than 3 times, it gets old and started to turn us off. They really had to call us assholes? One thing I must mention -- A couple of songs later, one of the drag queens pulled another guy on stage, yanked off his shirt, and then pulled his jeans and boxers down. Yep, there we were staring at his bare butt. Mmhmm...the people who were seated to the side of the stage got to see his willy, and the guy was not embarrassed. That could have been my husband! Ha~! Overall, we had a fun time here, and I'd recommend it, but I would not sit right in the middle next time as their expectation was such that we did not tip enough money (even though most tipped nothing and must have felt that the $10 cover charge was enough)...and we were a bit harassed for it. read more

I spent my thirtieth in Key West. after getting a tattoo down the street i went over to 801 bourbon with my friends little doggie. first of all, they allowed the dog to sit on my lap and have martinis with me. second i got trashed. third, when my friend tippi finally arrived we got more trashed. the clientelle was so nice and funny. we got to meet some of the drag queens and i even got invited over to someones house (i'm past that stage in my life). i kindly declined, but didn't decline their offer of shots!. this was the last night of a week long vacation in key west. all i have to say is i had such a good time i wasn't fit to drive until georgia. love, juston read more

Drag your ass here for the Drag show and the strong drinks. The drag queens here are very talented and funny. I had a great time sipping on my drinks and watching the show. The staff is wonderful I lost my ID at the end of the night, Since they were already closed I called them and they said, "No, we haven't seen it but it could have fallen on the floor, if we find it while cleaning tonight we will give you a call when we open during the day. Sure enough they did find it and they did call. The bartender there also gave us a discount on a drink while we waited for the manager to bring down the ID. Visited this place on July 23rd, 2019. Somehow, the $20 tip I left on a $48 tab turned into a $200 tip. The establishment is of no help and there is no way to reach any of the staff due to the fact that their phone line is constantly busy. Didn't get a chance to try out the downstairs bar. Only reason we went here is because one of the drag queens chatted us up as we were walking by. My wife was so intrigued that we came back an hour later for the 11:00pm show. $10/person and you head upstairs. It was very different for me but entertaining in some ways. The room was already crowded when we got there around 11:30 so we grabbed a seat way in the back. The bartender was very attentive and came over to us to get drink orders. Had a Jack and Coke and wife had a water which came out to $7.00 so not cheapo but not terrible. The queens sing (lip-sync to songs), dance, tell jokes, and even do shots with customers on-stage who are celebrating birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc. There appeared to be regulars there. Folks throw money on stage like a strip club and the dancers regularly come by with a tip bucket. read more

Among the bars in this part of Key West, 801 is probably the one I'm least familiar with. Not because I have anything against it, but more because we generally just don't think to go in. Located right on the corner and with large open windows, it's a great place to people watch. The bar is right in the middle and is plenty large. I've never had any trouble finding a place to sit. Service is prompt and their drink selection is solid. They don't have as much of a beer selection as I would have liked, but oh well. This bar does have drag shows upstairs. We have never partaken, but I have heard they're pretty good. Not a bad place to pop in for a drink while bar hopping on Duval. read more

They play pretty good music at this place. My friends pulled me up on this huge box so the whole bar could see me shakin my bootay. My other friend stuck so many $1 bills down this dancer's boy shorts she funded his sons college for the first year. They have hot guys with hot bodies dancing on the bar. My friends and I were in Key West vacationing but unfortunately we were there during the week. And because we were there during the week the nightlife was completely dead. All except the 801 Bourbon Bar. As we were walking down the street to find a decent bar we noticed the 801 Bourbon Bar was by the far the busiest that night. We walked in and there was a drag show. It was very entertaining and comical. Most of them lip sync to the songs of their choice. The performers will walk around as they perform collecting tips. Overall it was a good experience. Not my top choice of bars to vacate but the experience was good. Bartenders and cocktail servers were friendly. read more

We have been to 801 several times for karaoke and it is a lot of fun. We have brought our dogs in, and they like hanging out here, too. Sometimes it is hard to get the bartenders' attention and its not a particularly easy bar to move around in. But overall, it is a very fun bar and I would definitely go back. read more

Went to 801 bourbon bar with my family tonight to play "drag queen bingo". For $5, I got 3 boards to play 6 games of bingo. Q Mitch our host was entertaining and hysterical. She was very engaging and made us "virgins" feel welcome. I'd definitely recommend it for a stop while in key west. We arrived by 4pm to get the secret number - which could be used on every board for every game as a free space. The game started at 5 and we had about 3 hours of pure fun. Absolutely loved it here. Didn't spend any time at the bar downstairs (I don't think many people do) but the drag show upstairs is where the fun is. If you're looking for a great drag show where the queens don't take it too seriously, are funny and want to have a great time with you in the audience, this is the show for you. It was such a great time I look forward to going back. Every show is different, and if you come in for the 9pm show, you can stay for the 11pm show for free.
