La Stalla must be doing something right, because on a Thursday at 8pm they still had a good crowd. The inside is very trendy and updated, as the restaurant opened in 2021 and things seem to be well maintained. A pleasant, airy space. Staff are friendly, checking in periodically but not hovering/pushy. The music choice was interesting, country music for half our dinner before switching over to a 90s/ early 2000s mix. Portions of the entrees were very filling. The octopus was done well and had an interesting pesto and hummus base. The pasta sauce for the meatballs was delicious, however the meatballs seemed somewhat basic and uninspiring. read more

Service was slow and the kitchen didn't cook our steak correctly. Ordered medium rare and got an almost well done steak. We had to wait 15-35 minutes for each course/drink. A friend suggested La Stalla and it was our first time there. There was a total of 6 - 8 people there. The bar area, dining area, and outside dining area was empty on a Wednesday at 6:30. The waiter was pleasant enough but seemed bored. I liked my chicken parm sandwich and fries. My friend got a lamb burger and asked for it medium. It came out and she cut it in half and it was bright red throughout. She requested it be cooked further and they gave her a new one which was over cooked. She left the meal and didn't eat any of it. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and comfortable. Unfortunately, at the end of our meal my friend pointed out the black mouse that crawled out from under the wall/ radiator. We told the waiter but he didn't check the area so don't know if it will be taken care of. Won't be back. Just don't want to see mice before, during or after my meal. read more

I don't usually take the time to write a review either good or bad but I had to stop and take a moment to give a Huge Shout out to La Stalla Restaurant and their staff for the wonderful experience my family had here Sunday night. It was my husbands birthday and we had 16 people for dinner and we were fortunate enough to get the private room right off the bar. The room was cozy and inviting and Mikaela ( the manager) had listened to my request and had Sinatra music playing my husbands favorites in the room. Our waiter for the evening was Joe , extremely friendly & informative and couldn't have been any more accommodating. He helped us with dinner & appetizer selections and at the end of the meal he thoughtfully boxed everyone's leftovers as opposed to being thrown a box and expected to do it yourself. Very Nice touch! On to the food. All of the appetizers, main courses, and cocktails were carefully curated with distinct flavors and quality ingredients. Once the food was ordered it came out in a very timely order and everything was hot and delicious which is tough to pull off with a large group. Most everyone had a pasta based dish and all the pastas were cooked al dente with wonderful tasty sauces. It was a wonderful experience for everyone in my group (some in my family are pretty difficult to please!) but I know everyone is anxious to return. If you live in the area and are tired of Amelia's, la Stalla is a great alternative. The service was fantastic. The Manager or Owner (not sure) checked on us a couple of times and was super friendly. We were celebrating a birthday, so he made sure to comp a dessert and lit the candle himself. They have outdoor seating that looks very inviting but it was too chilly out. The ambiance inside is lovely. Can get a bit loud if you're seated close to the bar though. My only real complaint is that pretty much all of the food we ordered was bland. The steak tips were juicy and tender but needed a bit more seasoning. Everyone at the table felt the same about their dishes also. Portions were generous though. Reservations were easy to make same day for a party of 5. They have a parking lot, so parking was easy. read more

I had a wonderful dining experience at this Italian restaurant. The dining room wasn't that busy at 6:30 on Friday, but people kept coming and it was full by the time we left about 7:45. The attached bar seemed to be doing well and the noise level was just right in the dining area. Our waiter Mikey was prompt, friendly and attentive. Between the apps and entrees then owner stopped over to chat for about 2 minutes to make sure everything was good and service was top notch. We really appreciate that. To start, the Lamb Lollipops and Greek salad were both fantastic choices. The lamb was tender and flavorful (though slightly over where we like it), while the salad was fresh and tangy. The Greek dressing was spot on. Apps were a perfect combination. For the entrees, the Chicken Marsala was cooked to perfection, but I would have preferred triple the mushrooms, and the Fig & Prosciutto pizza was great. The blend of flavors in the pizza was exceptional and even thought it appeared undercooked the dough was airy and crispy! Definitely worth a visit! read more

I'm really happy I tried this place I had seen featured on phantom gourmet. I was looking for excellent eggplant Parmesan and definitely found it! My only complaint is it came ziti and didn't offer any option to get a different pasta outside of gluten free for an additional charge. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and layered so it ate like a lasagna with the creaminess of artichoke hearts. Delicious! And the sauce wasn't too tangy or acidic or oily. read more

Great atmosphere and diverse menu. The meatball appetizer is a must (especially when you make a mini meatball slider with the warm focaccia bread). Generous entree portions and the squash stuffed pasta was delicious - bummed this is going to be taken off their summer menu. We're not ones to order desert but the bread budding (we added a scoop of vanilla ice cream) was absolutely delicious. I ordered Ville Santo Buka, it was like eating a piece of leather, the risotto and the asparagus underneath it was good, I just paid $35 for a piece of leather. I paid the bill on my way out. I explained to the bartender what type of meal we had, this is the third time I've been in there all three times the food was awful. This was our 2nd time here. Their new menu is broader than is was on our first visit, but still had interesting selection. We started with a beet salad that was amazing- flavors were interesting (I wish I had got a picture prior to digging in, but we couldn't wait)! Then we had the pepperoni and hot capicola which had a perfect amount of heat and great sauce- cheese ratio. Finally, we finished with the veal marsala with fresh pappardelle. I think I would go with the chicken if we got it again; the sauce was a little too sweet, but the pasta was lovely. They have a great local craft beer selection. Absolutely stellar experience for dinner tonight at La Stalla. Service was superb as was the atmosphere inside and, of course, the food. We sat at a booth and tried a variety of dishes including the whipped ricotta ($9) which was served on some pane Caraseau Silician bread. Our waitress recommended I get the Tagliatelle Bolognese ($25) which featured fresh pasta made in-house and it was absolutely great with an incredible depth of flavor. Apparently it's a best seller and I totally get why. My spouse when with the Parmagiana de Melanzane ($20) and the eggplant was tender and the whole dish was awesome. For desert, we were able to carve out a little room for the tiramisu ($10) which wasn't too sweet and for their chocolate gelato ($3) which was also great. This is definitely the best Italian restaurant in town, if not the best all-around restaurant. Tremendous meal. Cannot wait to return. read more

We walked in here at 8:45p on a Friday for our friend's birthday and it was we completely spontaneous. The staff rolled with it and were very accommodating. We see her 8 people and immediate got a beautiful table. The service was fast and the waitress was very kind and good natured. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was incredibly good. We were so happy with the food. The portions were generous and the ingredients are clearly fresh. The food is made with TLC. This is not a good restaurant, and it is definetly not an Italian restaurant. The food is mediocre at best, with no authentic dishes nor ingredients. The charcuterie board tries to fake a real Italian one, but the salami, the mortadella and the cheeses are just low quality types avaiaible here in the US, they are not imported nor of high quality. The mortadella also had a weird grey color. I had an Aperol spritz: tons of ice, very diluted aperol. Pizza is not even worth mentioning. The fig and proscitutto pizza has a layer of very salty Alfredo sauce (which is not an Italian thing at all) in it: I wanted to leave as soon as I saw that on the menu. The dough is not home made. The burrata on my pizza was the only decent thing tonight, but unfortunately they put balsamic vinegar glaze on it (who ever told you to do so?? and on a pizza????). Maybe other non-italian dishes like chicken wings or steaks are better. We were looking for an Italian experience, and we can all confirm this is not an Italian restaurant, not even close. Service was overall kind, but we were put in a cold room with very weak lights; we had to ask to improve the illumination, which they did, but there was no solution for the heat. My husband and I went for dinner there, I ordered carbonara pasta and the pasta was not cooked, it was chewy and it was very soupy. Also I could taste the raw egg. Nothing like the picture. My husband ordered the three cheese ravioli and it was chewy as well. I don't think they change their water when they cook the pasta. I only had a few forkful and I told the waitress and she removed the carbonara from my bill. I was so sick with my stomach after I got home. Had made a reservation for new year's eve but really could have just walked in When we arrived to the restaurant, there was no host at the desk. We were finally seated and our server was great. We ordered drinks as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. I ordered the cod which was pretty dry and risotto was good ,as was the asparagus wrapped in bacon. My husband had the chicken sandwich. He said it was very good and he would definitely go back just for that reason. My brother had the pork chop special and he said it was really good and he enjoyed the yucca mashed and my sister had the cod and she must've enjoyed it more than me because she ate her whole plate lol read more

Recently opened La Stalla was one on our list to visit over the last few weeks. This place had been getting some real buzz on Facebook so it was only a matter of time that we would finally make our way to this restuarant. Up until now, our experiences with other Italian restaurants in Boston area, were at best subpar. Perhaps it was the dishes we selected at those restaurants-who knows-but at best the were simply not memorable. My expectation for La Stalla was another restaurant, with same hype, same loud online voices promoting another italian restaurant like the many before it. However -this was not one of those restaurants. Its hard to find the words because this was an experience i dont think i am ever going to forget. Tonight, we had one of the best tasting italian experiences i have ever had next to being in italy. Where does one start when you finally find such an authentic italian restaurant that completely blows all other italian experiences out of the water? Nicola and his team have found magic in La Stalla and if i could give this restaurant 100 stars- i probably would. I am reliving the fresh fried calamari, the Araninci and the toast with truffle ricotta. The grilled octopus is OUT OF THIS WORLD. As our main dish we throughly ejoyed the Caborara and Stinco. You can tell quality and conscience selection of every ingredient from the table bread to the appetizers to the entrees. At one point my stomach said to stop but my heart told me another one more bite. The desserts were perhaps the best ive ever had a restaurant. I dont like Panna Cotta but i gave it a try -where have you been all my life?? I fell in love and finished it off. We made reservations for another night before leaving tonight. Just happened upon La Stalla, and what a pleasant surprise. You can be casual or dress up. Very charming dining room with hints of old Italia. I had the baked stuffed haddock, and it was perfect. My boyfriend has spaghetti and meatballs. Best gravy he's ever had. The meatballs were simple but delicious. Our server Jonathan was attentive and friendly. Waited 3 weeks to try this place since I saw it on Phantom Gourmet. Finally made it and was disappointed to find out they changed the menu since that show. Was looking forward to the carbonara that folks raved about but was not on the menu. Settled for the pork shank with garlic Mash. Pretty good, large portion. Meatballs were GOOD. Wife was not impressed with Seafood platter. Very little seafood for the price. Son enjoyed Shrimp Scampi, daughter liked her blackened salmon. Our server Bri did a good job but never brought us bread and the tartar sauce came as we were finishing...Gelato was amazing...!!!! Will go back. We came on a rainy Friday night around 8:30. The food and service by Dolce was amazing. I was highly impressed with our appetizer (arancini) and cozy pasta dishes, the carbonara and bolognese had great flavor and the dish was cooked perfectly. We had the pleasure to chat with our new friend Rick and I (a non Italian) learned that la Stalla meant "farm" which perfectly describes the ambiance. It was such a light and refreshing take on an Italian restaurant compared to a lot of the other local options. We cannot wait to return soon!! read more

A gem of a restaurant in Stoughton! Wonderfully delicious Italian food. The crostini with ricotta and truffle honey was delicious, wish I had more than one! The meatballs were breaded/fried on the outside, with an amazing sauce. For our main plates, the eggplant parm has great flavor, but was on the small size, and a little burnt on one end. The carbonara was delicious and would lick the plate if I could. Knocked off a star because the eggplant as well as the crostini came out a bit on the burnt side, so my real score is a 4.5! I will be coming again with my husband with an empty stomach. read more

I have been wanting to try La Stalla out since it opened last year. Finally go the chance to go for dinner last week. Service was exceptional - really sweet waitress but unfortunately didn't catch her name. I ordered the Bacon Wrapped Scallops for an appetizer and Chicken Picatta with a lovely asparagus risotto for my entree. Both were delicious and flavorful! Overall great experience just wished there was a little more of a vibe and a few more pasta options. read more

I hope the owners take the time to read this review. #1 problem is the menu....it's not readable, it's complicated and it needs to be simplified. #2, the food is too foo-foo for Stoughton. Your not in Newton or Wellesley, your in Stoughton. Stoughton is blue collar people that look for a good meal at a fair price. #3 you know you have a problem when my wife couldn't find anything on the menu to eat except the pizza. Problem was, the pizza oven were not working. I did enjoy my meal but we probably won't be back unless they change. Not good doesn't begin to describe our experience. We arrived shortly after opening, and it was FREEZING COLD ! other couples, including us, needed to keep our winter coats on all during our stay. It never warmed up. ~ while my husband ordered a beer on tap...'We asked our bartender why it was so cold, and she said' "ya right,..I'm freezing Too'.....ok ~ then we ordered an appetizer. About 15 minutes later, 2 tiny overcooked scallops were served,..and my husband was told the tap was broken, his beer on tap. wasn't coming, he could only order bottled beer. Ok,... shortly thereafter, a couple of friends, of the bartender arrived and sat on the far side of the bar, and our bartender proceeded to spend about 20 minutes chatting to them, and sharing something on her iPhone, and forgot about us....we were hungry and wanted to order our dinner immediately , seeing our puny appetizer did nothing to satiate our appetite. she finally meandered over took our order ...then we waited another 30 minutes for it to arrive. i ordered the gnocchi and seafood. ...supposedly it had lobster. I did spot 3 dime-sized , pieces that may have been lobster bits...but I'm not sure. 3 overcooked scallops, and 1 & 1/2 shrimp ....and some very questionable gnocchi.....very rubbery. Being of Italian descent..I can tell you, these sucked. ~ my husband had a sirlion which arrived pre-sliced ....on a white bland plate with a few springs of broccol. Nothing special .... when we finally ASKED for our bill,...seeing the bartender was once more engaged in conversation with her friends,... im glad we checked it, because we were charged for a drink we didn't receive. ~ many more better places to dine ,..with better service, heat, and much much better food. read more

Beyond worth the trip to Stoughton (and honestly, it was closer than expected, ~20 minutes from Boston). The menu truly WOWS. We ordered a handful of the apps, all flavorful and inventive as anything - the sous vide octopus was a crowd favorite. My party entrees included the Bolognese, Polla alla Diavlo, and Cappellacci. Our mouths hit the floor with every bite, no joke. Beyond the truly extraordinarily quality of the food, the drink list is brilliant, cocktails are festive, and the service and ambiance are top-notch. You can just tell there is a lot of care and quality that goes into this place, from every angle! Honestly, just so happy I went, and will be back again often. read more

An authentic Italian dining experience. Usually, new restaurants need almost a full year to get it right. This is not the case with La Stalla Osteria & Bar, which opened less than 6 months ago. As soon as I arrived, I felt immediately the welcoming atmosphere that I am used to in Italy. Chef Nicola and his colleague Carlo were mingling with our party and shared with us the story behind La Stalla Osteria and Bar. That night we were a party of 14, mostly Italian ex-pats, meaning that each of us knows how authentic Italian food tastes. The expectations were high and La Stalla topped them all, not only with the amazingly tasty culinary creations that came out of the kitchen but also with the charming attitude of Carlo and his waiting staff.
