Trio Enchiladas - Cheese, Chicken, and Shrimp
    Thomas B.

Many locals have been waiting to visit this restaurant. Luckily, Fullerton, Brea, and La Habra residents support local businesses. Saw a "soft opening" for this weekend in February 2026. Decided on a Friday Date Night. The inside is beautiful. You can tell the owners put a lot of money into the decorations, tables, chairs, restrooms, and overall decor. It almost feels like a 1980's Miami Vice theme with the purple, green, and blues. Not a bad thing, just different and flashy. Beautiful Spanish music playing on background speakers. Place is very quiet. The drinks were on the sweeter end, but still very good. Could use a little more alcohol with La Rosa & Thalia. I rarely drink and couldn't taste the alcohol, but lots of sugar. There's no chips & salsa, but rather a complimentary Sopa De Fideo. It tasted incredible. Little hints of spice and perfectly warm. We skipped appetizer and went straight to Entrees. Trio Enchiladas were Cheese (red sauce), chicken (green/white sauce), and shrimp (green sauce). Cheese and chicken were great, the shrimp wasn't good. I tried, but it didn't pair right with my palate. The beans tasted homemade and has some spice to it. The rice was ok. Nothing bad, nothing great, just meh. Wife had Arrachera con Papas. Steak was cooked medium and had great flavor with chimichurri sauce. Papas were average. Black beans and rice with just good. The real winner was desert. The lava cake (Pastel de Lava Estilo Abuelita). Presentation was beautiful and lots of fruit on the side. Greta sharing for two. Wish I took a picture. Overall, 7.5/10 restaurant. 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and 1 desert. Out the door price with tip around $150. Pretty pricey for Mexican food. But the food was good. Not sure if it was memorable. But I would visit again since it's close and local. But also to try different items on the menu. They have a kids menu. It's very reasonably priced at $9 each item. But this is more of a date spot and not a kids restaurant.

Tried this last Friday evening. Awesome place, friendly staff, great drinks. Initially we went in just for drinks as I had booked another place in Brea, but after looking at the menu, we decided to eat here. The food was very good and we were extremely happy with meal and service throughout. It was early when we arrived around 4:30, so not busy, but it filled up well by the time we left. We live fairly close by and this will be a regular spot for us.

I always drive by this place and it always had me curious as to what was inside. This place was so beautifully decorated. It was giving classy and cute. The service was amazing and the drinks and food were very good. It was the perfect spot for our date night. Definitely coming back!

I came here with a few friends and we were blown away. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was amazing--great music and a really aesthetic, cute interior. But the real star is the food. You can tell the chef has perfected every single dish; it's easily some of the best I've ever had. To top it off, the customer service was incredible. La Rosa is a total 5-star experience. I'll definitely be back soon!

Great new place. Love the service, food and ambiance. My new family dinner night spot.

I had the most amazing time at La Rosa The service was honestly some of the best I've experienced. Everyone was so kind, attentive, and made us feel really welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is so cute and girly -- perfect for a fun night out with friends. The drinks are also super fun and adorable, and they taste just as good as they look. A special shoutout to the bartender Lorena who was so friendly and sweet. And our waiter Carlos was amazing! He was so attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. All of the staff were incredibly welcoming. Overall such a great vibe, great food, and great service. I will definitely be coming back.

Pasta a la Michoacana and Tampiqueña plate

We have been twice for date night. Both times were greeted and seated right away, everyone was friendly and polite, service has been outstanding, the waiters Lorena and Carlos always made sure we were attended. Ambiance and music were perfect to have a conversation, the place felt very warm and nice. Food was really good, from appetizers to deserts! We loved their Aguachile negro, the meat and enchilada on the tampiqueña plate were delicious! Their flan and Chocolate abuelita lava cake are very tasty! We are definitely going back!

Come here for a soft opening and to my surprise the food is great and the drinks are delicious the salud to the great bartender Jose and the amazing signature cocktails for my dish i ordered a non traditional dish pork with green mole it was out of this world I really recommend this place

Help verifying closure from the health department

Assuming this is why La Rosa isn't open and fails to return calls. Have tried calling multiple times of the course of about a year since it was announced. Looked again and already had a health violation and closure.

This new business in the city of LH is exceptional. The music playing on loud speakers is festive and fits the atmosphere and design. The customer service is on point, not too pushy but rather allows the necessary time to enjoy the food and space. The food is yummy embodied by many flavors. Overall a great place to be. Looking forward to the upcoming brunch. A place to spend the summer at.

    Mole pasta

The best service, super friendly. All the food was spectacular. Ordered the Chipotle Pasta and the Mole Pasta, both were to die for. Definitely recommend coming

We've had Chapter 4 on our list for a while. A very positive review from a Yelp friend bumped it to…read morethe top of the list, and we visited recently. It is located in downtown Fullerton, next to the Les Amis Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant. Look for the entrance on the west side of the building with a red entrance and Chapter 4 projection logo on the sidewalk. You can make a reservation on their website. We walked in and were greeted immediately. Seating options include tall chairs at the bar, low booths along the front wall across from the bar, and various tables in the main lounge area. All of the chairs look very comfortable. We sat in one of the booths across from the bar. It has a great vibe inside with a dark ceiling and walls, and is lit on the dimmer side. There was light lounge/soft jazz music playing when we visited. They also have live jazz music on some nights. A bowl of nuts, water, and menus arrived quickly. They have a great menu of house-curated cocktails, their spins on classic cocktails, and a large list of whiskeys and other spirits. They also have several food items on the menu. They have private liquor lockers available to store personal bottles for members Before I continue, I have to say that JC, one of the owners, who greeted us and was our server all evening, provided outstanding hospitality. While researching their bar menu online, we saw the cloud cocktail which had a very unique presentation with a burning ember cloud-like display. We came for my girlfriend's birthday, and she knew that would be her first drink. Unfortunately when we tried to order it, they were out of the gas for it. We noticed that the physical menu was a little different than the online menu. Apparently they had just changed the menu and had not updated the website yet. She wanted the Dirty Dill which wasn't on the new cocktail menu, but they were still able to make it. Dirty Dill (Gin, Vodka, Lemon, Pickle Juice, Olive Juice, Milk Washed & Clarified, $19). We could smell pickle on the nose, but when we took a sip, it was very boozy with little pickle or olive flavor. We asked if they could add some more pickle juice, and JC brought us a big shot glass of pickle juice so she could adjust it to her liking. She liked it once she added some more pickle juice. I started out with the Cococacaocoladaclara cocktail (Cacao-Infused Rum, Orange Liquor, Pineapple & Lime Juice, Coconut Milk Clarified, $18). This wasn't quite what I was expecting, and I had a hard time picking out the flavors. It was definitely strong and boozy. We were finishing our first round when we spotted JC walking towards our table with a cloud! He managed to find whatever it takes to make the effect, and we were very appreciative. I have seen a lot of presentations, and this was definitely a unique one. The birthday shot was very good, and he said the ingredients were mezcal, lavender, and lemon. Old Fashioneds have been growing on me lately. After the great presentation of the cloud, I had to try the Sinatra Old Fashioned (Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select, one dash of chocolate Bitters, $40). It is served in a rotating crystal glass, lit from underneath, with a clear ice sphere. Again, the presentation was great, and it was the smoothest old fashioned I've ever had. She had her eye on the Tuk Tuk for her second drink (Coconut Fat Washed Rum, Supasawa, Pandan Syrup, Mango Syrup, Rice Garnish, $18). She asked if it was very sweet, and he said that it was indeed quite sweet. Instead, she opted for the Firefox (Vodka, Pomegranate, Lemon, Vanila, Rose Liquor, Cherry Bitters, $18). Once again, this cocktail had a great presentation. It's served in a short, wide glass that sits perfectly on top of a piece of petrified-looking wood. You hold the glass with both hands and sip it like a bowl of soup. It was very balanced and smooth, with a nice tartness and light sweetness. JC stopped by again to check on our second round. A few minutes later he surprised us again, and returned with shot sized versions of the Tuk Tuk to sample. It was definitely on the sweeter side with good coconut and pandan flavor. We probably would have tried a third round, but we had dinner and a drink before coming here. Their menu of house-curated cocktails is impressive, and features many uncommon ingredients. We had a good time, but JC went the extra mile for us all night long and made it a great time. We will definitely return again.

There are a lot of bars in the area, but Chapter 4 is a touch classier, offering craft cocktails in a smaller, intimate setting. Service is overall very nice. The servers check up on you often and are friendly. The ambiance is moody, and on a cold winter night, feels warm and inviting. For regular patrons, lockers are available to store your personal collection of spirits, so that you may enjoy your favorite brews in the atmosphere of Chapter 4. We visited right in time for their winter seasonal menu. The Candlelight Confession from this menu is delicious, and served with a torched marshmallow. From their signatures, I really enjoyed La Peligrosa, a tequila based cocktail that was floral and refreshing. My drink of choice recently, however, has been a Pornstar Martini. I asked the bartender if he could make one for me, and he just happened to have the ingredients necessary. So he did :) It was really good.  I enjoyed myself so much on my first visit that I invited more of my friends to come the following Friday. There were 7 of us total. It was a tight squeeze, but they were able to fit us all at a table. I'm very grateful to the staff for accommodating us, but I definitely would recommend visiting with a smaller party. There was live music that night with a trumpet player, livening up the air with jazz music. We had Pornstar Martinis again, which were amazing. I also dabbled in their whiskey cocktails as those are their specialty. The High Society was quite the showstopper, arriving at our table topped with a woolen cloud set ablaze. The way the embers danced was nothing short of magic. Removing the cloud revealed a wispy layer of smoke, which was both captivating and added depth to the drink. The rye whiskey was smooth and palatable, with a steady warmth as opposed to a harsh burn and flavored by cherry bitters. I don't usually drink darks, but this was very enjoyable. I also took the opportunity to sample the Démodé, Chapter 4's take on an Old Fashioned, garnished with an orange peel and a Luxardo cherry. Like the High Society, the whiskey was smooth and enjoyable to sip over time.  I love Chapter 4. The drinks are palatable and interesting. The staff is welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is classy, yet laid back and cozy. In a downtown district filled with sports bars and pubs (which can be fun), Chapter 4 is my calm eye of the storm, a place to sit, relax, and enjoy the night with well crafted drinks and conversation.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

My wife, my 10-year-old, and I have been here about six times now, and honestly? The place always hooks us with its atmosphere. Think: rustic wood, tons of TVs, and a Sunday band that's fun enough to make you forget you meant to leave an hour ago. And shout-out to the bartenders -- they're consistently friendly. Sure, pours are a little on the "skinny jeans" side sometimes, but the good service makes up for it. Now... the food. Let's start with the wins: The burgers? Solid. The bison burger? A welcome surprise that actually delivers. But the moment you wander off the burger path? Things get... complicated. We tried a dessert two visits ago, and it came out so burnt it basically qualified as charcoal. But okay -- everyone has an off night. This last visit, though, we aimed high and ordered 2 x 14 oz ribeye. $56 worth of steak dreams, medium rare, double veggies, no mashed potatoes. Here's what landed on the table instead: A giant pile of carrots. Only carrots. Not "seasonal veggies," unless carrot season lasts 12 months now. Enough balsamic reduction to qualify as a shallow pool. My steak was literally swimming in it. Absolutely zero seasoning -- not even a rebellious sprinkle of salt. Listen... the steaks were cooked nicely. Credit where credit's due. But no one orders a ribeye expecting a balsamic slip-n-slide. The Verdict Taste-wise? This was a $25 steak wearing a $48 price tag and hoping no one notices. Atmosphere? Great. Staff? Kind. Burgers? Dependable. But if you're going for anything fancier -- especially steak night -- prepare for some surprises, and not the good kind.
