Today, when most of the popular restaurants in Santa Fe were very crowded with 30 minute wait times, LA PLANCHA was nearly empty. They welcomed my group of 5 including a wheelchair, a walker, and a person with dementia. We were quickly served a delicious meal with huge portions at a decent price. Staff and other customers made us feel very comfortable as we handled the special needs of our group. This is the second time that the management and staff of this restaurant have been so kind and accommodating to me and friends. 10 out of 10 rating! read more

I'm moving out of state in three weeks and I just discovered this restaurant which is devastating. I wish I knew about it sooner. The food is absolutely delicious. You can tell it's made with love and care and high-quality ingredients. The desserts were delicious. The margaritas were large, strong and delicious. The prices are affordable. It's clean. First time here and loved it. Very comfortable and cute interior. The food was great. Red Chile was a bit more flavorful than green on chicken enchiladas but meal was great. Also has camarones with garlic sauce (on menu in Spanish which I don't recall) which was fabulous. Will go back regularly as a very interesting and inviting menu with many more items to try. As a native New Mexican, my husband is always on the hunt for the best enchiladas. He confirmed the enchiladas here were the best he has experienced so far in Santa Fe. The chile was sweet, not burnt, and plenty of it. I had the paella which is more like a soup than crispy and drier. It was a huge serving full of fish, shrimp, and mussels with green rice. Delicious seasonings. I took half of it home and it was as good the next day. The service was friendly, food served on hot plates, good presentation, and very clean. They have live music every night with a classically trained guitarist, who also has a trio, but he didn't start playing before we left. They moved to Santa Fe from Eldorado. We really enjoyed the friendly, helpful service. It is a small restaurant in a shopping center and has excellent food. I had the fish and chips. The tartar sauce has a bit of spice as does the coleslaw. Both very good. My husband had the salmon. It was moist and delicious. read more

We loved La Plancha! We were visiting Santa Fe and just needing dinner on a Saturday evening. The well known restaurants downtown all had long waits. Yelp helped me find La Plancha, my expectations were low since it's in a strip shopping center with Lowe's etc. When we came in initially it seemed a bit plain but everything was spotlessly clean and we were greeted warmly. We tried the ceviche appetizer and it was fresh and good. For entrees we had the Plato Tipico de El Salvador and the Camarones de Ajo and both were excellent! The tamale, pupusa and plantains were delicious, best I've had and I've been to several Salvadoran restaurants. The shrimp were large and sautéed in a roasted garlic based sauce. The green rice on the side was good, the grilled vegetables and mushrooms were very good and the fresh avocado covered with refried black beans was amazing! This was surprisingly one of the best meals of our trip. read more

I just wasn't as impressed by the food like I had hoped from the reviews. My husband got the paella, which was ok. It was watery but tasted alright. I got the South American platter and the bread and plantain were great but the tamale was not what I expected. This is definitely a hidden gem near Santa Fe and I always take advantage of their weekend brunch buffet. When you walk in, there are many works of art hanging on the wall. It is very Santa Fe style with casual atmosphere. The staff are friendly and service is alway upbeat and efficient. There are so many options on the buffet such as sausage patties, pancakes and French toasts, enchiladas, beans, green and red chili, guacamole and fresh fruits etc. There is a station where you can build your own omelette by the entry. The food is delicious, consistent and affordable. After a couple of coffee, I feel satisfied. Not only for locals but also tourists, it is a must try place if you are in Eldorado area. read more

We have been longing for a decent meal in Santa Fe. The quality of restaurants in Santa Fe varies enormously. Many of our restaurants get by on the tourist trade leaving us locals looking for a qualitative dining experience. What started out as an adventure has ended up as a mainstay in our dining out. My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant when we were visiting Eldorado, and we were glad we did! Outdoor seating was comfortable and spaced away from the other tables. The service was friendly and welcoming. As we waited for our food, and during our meal, we enjoyed the guitar player creating a soft, romantic mood -- at lunchtime! My Cubano sandwich was excellent, just like Miami. And my friend's half-pound cheeseburger was done exactly the way he likes, with all the trimmings and green chile on the side. Poblanos del Dias is one of our favorite dishes here. During Covid, we've tapped them for takeout orders empanadas, taquitos, nachos and papusas to satisfy our cravings for appetizers from south of the border. Good food, good prices, good people. read more

A very nice restaurant in Eldorado, very close to home for my family and me...it's very quick and convenient. Our waitress was lovely and got everything we ordered right! They have a nice beer selection to choose from, and the menu offers a great variety of Mexican food. There was music playing when we walked in, which added a wonderful ambiance. The day before, my visitors and I had eaten at La Reforma in Albuquerque and the two experiences couldn't be more different. The food at La Reforma was excellent. The food at La Plancha was average at best. I've had much hotter hot sauce that I bought on Amazon. If I went back to Santa Fe I'd stick to the first three restaurants mentioned. read more
