My first experience here was great! The staff was amazing! One man was bar tending and taking care of 6 tables and making it look easy. As a former waitress and certified bartender, I was super impressed! I ordered white enchiladas (sans beans) and the la amor. They brought me chips and salsa and the salsa was super refreshing. I enjoyed the enchiladas very much and the drink was pretty and delicious too. I noticed on the way out that they have a very super cute outdoor seating area and bar too. I'll have to check it out next time! This was a great experience for sure!

Thanks, yelp for introducing me to another great place. This place is a gem. The food is amazing, so fresh and flavorful. The enchiladas were amazing, but the chicken wings no words, that good. And my top pick the bacon shrimp tacos, salty from the bacon the little hint of sweet from the shrimp top notch. The service was great. The drinks outstanding, I had the blueberry fizz, amazing blueberries and mint. My friend got the holly water I miss read and thought it said holy water. lol either way amazing drink. The atmosphere loved it. Will be returning.

I went to La Pinata for an elite event. Bought some food along with my enchaladas. The space was small but accomodating, I went after lunch and it wasnt too busy. The music fit the mood, light Mexican music, mosaic bar, some pictures on the walks. The staff was friendly and effecient. The food was great, more than I could eat in one sitting. What a great little place to catch up with friends and have traditional Mexican food.

Food: Ive been here a few times and had some Tacos, guac and chips, soup, brunch and all was yummy. Service: super nice and attentive staff. They were really helpful with trying to pick an item off the menu as well. Ambiance: I love the space and the decor. Super colorful.

Popped in on mother's day. Surprisingly empty. We were greeted by friendly faces and quick service.

La Piñata offers fun "day date" dining experience. From the mouthwatering Mojo Shrimp to the delectable variety of chimichangas, every bite is an authentic combo of flavors that keeps me coming back for more. There's amazing decor and it's very well lit with lots of parking. For those that do not drink alcohol, their selection of Jarritos soda and refreshing Virgin mojitos perfectly complement the delicious dishes. What truly sets La Piñata apart, however, is the fast and pleasant service. Being addressed as "señorita" added a charming touch to the dining experience, making me feel welcomed and appreciated. Additionally, the attention to cleanliness, especially evident in the pristine ladies' bathroom, showcases the restaurant's commitment to providing a top-notch environment for its patrons. Whether you're craving authentic Mexican cuisine or simply looking for a fantastic dining experience, La Piñata is the place to go. I can't recommend it enough!

I came here last week for the RI Food Fights Taco Mania. We were able to sit on the back patio because the weather was unseasonably warm for October. The patio was super fun and I imagine it would be a blast in the summer. They had a bar out there, an awning, and plenty of seating. The service was great - we had two friendly waiters helping us and the food was brought out to our table quickly! We ordered the Pinata Platter to start which had taquitos, a quesadilla, nachos, and chicken tenders. The nachos and the taquitos were our favorites! We were able to pick any two tacos off the menu for the Food Fight so I chose one shrimp and one fish taco. Both so delicious!

Here I am, eating my leftovers from La Pinata that have somehow lasted me 3 days, realizing I need to sing their praises. Shotgun review: - Colorful, cheerful interior - Friendly staff - Accommodating to large parties & reservations - Crushable margaritas (definitely had me feeling saucy after just one) - Phenomenal house made guacamole - Humongous portions - well worth the price - Great sides - Sizzling, tasty fajitas - Bright, refreshing ceviche - Much needed addition to my neighborhood! It's nice to see a new business in this spot. I wish them the best - They deserve to do well & I will most certainly be back. Thank you!

First time at la Pinata, came for dinner on a Saturday. Wasn't very busy (6pm) and sat right away. It's a small but cosy restaurant. Quick and friendly service. I was in the mood for steak but wanted to eat healthy so i ordered salad. Pinata salad with steak; was good but steak came out well done though i asked for med rare. Everyone else loved their foods.

Good tex mex spot in the west side of providence. There's another one in Warren as well. The interior and decor look colorful and nice. Got the chile verde pork and the enchilada verde w/chicken. Both were pretty good. Portion sizes were large. Service was good and staff were friendly. Overall it was a good experience.

La Piñata is a quintessential Mexican restaurant with an interior that looks like an Adobo and plenty of exterior porch seating in the rear on nicer days. They are also one of the rare PVD restaurants that have their own parking lot which is a major plus. The inside includes a bar that seats around 8 people and a dining area split between 2 tops and a few 4 tops. The inside is also laced with different piñatas scattered around the indoor space and a larger piñata hanging from the ceiling in the center of the room. Their decoration is definitely on theme. Their margarita menu is extensive. They have a total of 11 different margarita options to select from. I went with my favorite type of margarita, spicy, and found it to be okay on spice level but heavy on the alcohol. They give each table chips and salsa when you sit down, and I found their chips to be seasoned well enough to eat on their own without salsa if needed. I visited for Tacomania and went on the server's recommendation of the carnitas and adobos taco. Both tacos were served in a single tortilla, but they weren't too messy to eat. Each of the tacos had okay flavor, but didn't blow my socks off. For the entree I went with the Piñata special 2 with is carne asada and grilled fish (unclear on type), with rice, beans and avocado. The carne asada was the best thing I had for the entire meal, it was succulent, tender and perfectly seasoned. Everything else was solid. The service speed was pretty good but there were some communication gaps, not all of the servers speak English so sometimes I'd have to point to something or repeat a question I had multiple times. Overall this is a fun hangout spot with a group of people that love strong margaritas and authentic Mexican cuisine. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if I'm hungry or craving a margarita while I'm in the area, I'd definitely return.

La Pinata (same as in Warren) is in the old Louie Fullers on Westminster. I nearly cried when I walked inside. Louie Fuller was one of the most beautiful restaurant interiors ever. It is no more. That's not to say that La Pinata is not lovely. It is cute. They put Mexican tiles around the windows and archways. Nice touch. The service is very friendly. The menu is large. I appreciated the vegetarian options. Especially the broccoli and cauliflower fajitas. (I get tired of the ones with just peppers and onions.) The portions are large. Plenty for lunch tomorrow. They have a full bar and their own parking lot. Nice addition to the neighborhood!

The menu is small and yet there's always plenty of yummy things to try when I go, even as a picky eater. There are multiple vegetarian and even a vegan option or two. I always have to get the guac when I come here - it's the perfect amount of creaminess without too much onion. Their red salsa is a great slightly chunky - slightly juicy texture and has a bit of a kick. The vegan burrito bowl is my go-to as a vegetarian, and the street corn side as an app is elite! It is a little spicier these days since the recipe was updated from on the cob to off the cob (I much prefer off for ease of eating and sharing!) The Coconut Cartel margarita was creamy and smooth and went down *quick* haha. Others in my party loved the spicy Margarito, although they were out of the main spicy tequila but the servers offered substitute recommendations. I came with a very large work group today, and the servers were so patient and flexible when we asked for modifications from the menu. I even was able to order the queso dip with the chorizo on the side (yummy but very thick cheese dip!), and they were very attentive of my colleague's mushroom allergy and made sure she got dedicated dishes, even when we were all sharing apps. The churro donuts seem to have changed recipe and got mixed reviews - some thought they were dry, another says she Uber Eats just those regularly Sitting outside in the summer on the patio is nice. Tasty, interesting dishes with modern urban twists on Mexican recipes. Truly the only slight downside is that sometimes parking can be tricky in this area, but you can always find free street parking, it may just take you a little bit. Even the funky and creative decor is a selling feature for me. A must-try!

Every bite had great balance and you can tell they really care about the ingredients. One thing that really stood out to me was the seating. The Frida booths in the corner are the most comfortable restaurant seats I've ever sat in in my life. I could have stayed there all night. The atmosphere overall is fantastic. The lighting is mellow, the music is at the perfect level where you can actually talk without shouting, and the bartender was well-stocked and clearly knows what they're doing. Another bonus is the view. Looking out across the street at the park lit up at night is gorgeous and really adds to the vibe of the place. The only downside is parking, which can be a little tricky depending on when you go. But honestly, once you're inside and the food hits the table, it's totally worth it. Our appetizers were gone by the time the drinks arrived. Our server gave us the "the bar is backed up" excuse, which didn't make sense given that one drink was a bottled soda, one fountain soda, a mocktail and a cocktail. Furthermore, several tables were seated around us, placed their drink orders, and had their drinks before our appetizers reached our table (both inside tables as well as those on the patio). I'm hoping the service issue was a lack of training, as it was not an incredibly busy day (surprising given pride was happening ‍). It was also mid afternoon so unaffected by any kind of rush. All in all I would try this place again, but maybe sit at the bar (which is a shame, the outdoor seating is beautiful!)/

The overall experience left a mixed impression - great location, interesting menu, somewhat slow service, issues with the food & timing confusion with the daily specials. Before heading to the restaurant, I checked out the website & the daily special pop-up board said "Join us every day from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for our $2.00 Street Taco Special." Great! Let's do a couple of tacos along with some drinks. Unfortunately, the waiter said it was only 3-5pm &, even though it was 5:05pm, they wouldn't do it. Okay... so we moved on. Hubby ordered a Modelo Especial & I went with passionfruit house margarita. It was a little too sweet for me so I asked for a little soda water to dilute the passionfruit syrup. We are both huge fans of pozole & you don't see it on a lot of menus. It is a traditional Mexican soup made with hominy, pork & broth - either red or green. We should have asked because we prefer green but it was the red variation. It came with a platter of toppings so you could customize each bite. The broth was nice & spicy. Unfortunately, the pork was more grizzle than meat. Hubby selected the Wet Burrito: a large flour tortilla stuffed with grilled shrimp & chicken, rice & queso dip, then doused in more queso dip with pico de gallo, guacamole & sour cream as sides. It was ginormous but consisted of very little shrimp & chicken. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the appetizer pork belly chicharron. Good-sized pieces of nicely charred cubes of spicy pork. It came with pico de gallo, guacamole, beans & warm tortillas. It was delicious! As the restaurant is still relatively new, they still need to iron out some of the operational kinks & hopefully will settle into its groove. We will be back (from 3-5pm) to check out the tacos!

When we got the bill, we were supposed to see charges for the beans and guac. Our server explained that the free refills were only for the chips and salsa. We asked to see a menu again and pointed out that it says free refills. Our server contacted the owner/manager who doubled down on the misleading statement and charged us for both refills (total of 10.50 additional cost). It's really a bummer because I had read a bunch of reviews on here and my takeaway is that the food is great but the management leaves something to be desired. Be upfront with your customers! It's a great restaurant with delicious food, I'm glad small businesses exist, and I wish that we had been treated with more grace and honesty. Losing $10 on your end (or even just being upfront and stating the refill policy on the menu) is well worth it for a positive customer experience. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but took 1 off for the misleading pricing and another for the way that it was handled by the manager.

However, my friend was in the mood for a snack and spoke well of this place, so we went in and had 3 tacos. Originally, we were planning on only having a taco each, but I am so glad we went for the third because we demolished them. We ordered 1 shrimp taco, 2 steak tacos, and a jarrito drink. They have a solid selection of toppings that look and taste fresh and are free of charge on entrees (I am unsure if guac is included). The total was $14 and change which I thought was reasonable. On Tuesdays they do have a taco special, but we missed out by a day. They do make their tacos with two tortillas each, which to me is an invitation to make double the tacos by splitting the inside in half among the tortillas. I thought the flavor of the steak and shrimp were really good, and were tender - not overcooked. I am very glad I was introduced to this place and will be going back to try other items on their menu. The service was good and the food is cooked and prepared in front of you. There is street parking, and depending on the day and time it is free.
