Mi Amore!!! I was looking for authentic Italian food in the midst of a COLD, hectic day! I had been in and out of doctor visits, in FREEZING RAIN, errands GALORE, and I stopped at Chase Bank- close to lunch time, and was talking about being hungry with my banker... he recommended this spot! Less than 1/mile from Chase- I found it easily (the only issue they face is parking... often the employees have to park around the courthouse or down the street. Also- be mindful- because downtown Sherman (historic) is full of one way streets and if you're not careful, it's easy to go down one the wrong way! Lol. Mykal (a lovely personality and seasoned server!) was my server. I began with their hot dipping oil and home made bread. ... it's some of the best dipping oil I've ever had (and I do not say that lightly)... it's different. It's robust, a tad spicy, and has all that good expect and then some (basil, garlic, red chile flakes, warm olive oil, etc...!). I ordered a side of meatballs. These are the most TENDER meatballs I've ever had at an Italian place. Perfecto! The WINE COLLECTION!!! Wowza! I had tea, but I was seated across from the wine "wall", and bar. EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF FINE WINES! My main dish was the Greek chicken salad. Their house dressing is tomato based and incredible, and I ordered it, and the balsamic vinaigrette on the side! The chicken was so fresh, the romaine, bell peppers, fresh feta and red onions were crisp and very fresh- not a hint of brown on any piece of lettuce. As a former restaurant owner, I know what it takes to serve and maintain. Fresh lettuces. This is critical in the salad world (cold side), and involves ice and cold water. They didn't fail! Mykal didn't hesitate when I asked for more black olives and feta! Then I ordered two pieces of Tiramisu (mostly for my husband at home. ;))... The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. The Sicilian owner roams the room, jolly and friendly and looking like he's one of the "good guys" from "The Godfather"... lol He made me an offer I couldn't refuse- his FOOD! I highly recommend this spot, and the service is timely as well! read more

So charming! Server was very knowledgeable. Said all sauces were GF, except marinara, and can sub rice penne for any pasta. I had the farfalla chicken. They of course subbed the GF pasta. It was in a yummy creamy pesto with lots of chunks of chicken. Mother in kaw had the chicken over sauteed vegetables and it was exceptional! The ceasar was a bit disappointing. Very mayonnaise. First impressions - nice renovation, spacious seating, great addition to Sherman's downtown square. We had a lovely waiter who was patient with our big group and constantly checked on us. The menu is large and varied and each of us enjoyed our dishes (with the exception of the kids' Mac & Cheese). Don't sleep on this little gem! read more

Didn't really like the pizza. Soggy crust. Little cheese. It was still better than any chain store pizza. The real star of our meal was the spaghetti and Italian sausage! Wow. Probably one of the best spaghetti dishes I've ever had. Service was good and the restaurant is very and attractive. I'm going back again, just not for the pizza. read more

Great experience! The calamari was delicious and flavorful. Our waitress was delightful and we had fun chatting with the owner. Everyone loved their entrees and I would say that this is what I call East Coast Italian cuisine. The food and experience reminded me of some of the great Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh and Northern West Va. We will definitely visit the next time our travels take us to Sherman. read more

On business travel, I prefer to eat at local places rather than chains, and someone at my hotel directed me here. I was in town twice in December and had dinner here on both trips. The chicken parm was delicious. The chicken was tender and moist, which isn't always the case with chicken parm. The tres leches cake was huge and very sweet. In hindsight, I didn't need it after the chicken parm. On my second visit, I had the veal marsala, which was very good too, although the chef used more pepper than I prefer. The portions are very ample and prices were reasonable. There's also really tasty warm bread at the beginning of the meal, plus refills on sodas. If I'm back in town, I'll be back. read more

My husband and I went out for a nice evening. LaPiazza is so noisy, we couldn't hold a conversation. Then the waiter Josh, did not bring out hot bread. We noticed other tables were getting bread as soon as they sat down. We had to ask for it. The pizza I ordered was really good. The chicken marsalla that my hubby ordered was tough cause it was cooked too long. We had to catch Josh's eye two times before we got a refresh on our wine. Nice looking joint, the half-booth wall tables were extremely cramped, the main table area was roomy enough and well laid out. This place looks the part of a contemporary Italian restaurant. The server for my table was minimally attentive, bordering on inattentive. For what it's worth, they have a lot of staff on hand for a near-empty restaurant. No other servers checked in when empty drinks were on the table, etc. Draft beer selection was limited and lacking, IMO. No Italians. Miller, Michelob Ultra, Bud and Modelo IIRC Didn't bother to ask how much the bottled beer was. The idea of a $7 Shiner bottle would have broken my will to live. Bread served to the table was okay, one small pad of butter for the small loaf/baguette was an interesting choice. No offer of additional bread. Shrug. Gorgonzola Scaloppine was okay although not particularly exciting. Gorgonzola flavor, and not much else. The included pasta on the dish was an unpleasant, comically small surprise. That amount of pasta would generally be called "leftovers" at virtually any Italian restaurant you have ever been. I don't know if they were running low on spaghetti in the back, but you'll definitely run out of pasta with half of the "normal" sized pork serving. No big deal, the pasta was also unremarkable. Okay, choices were made. Lackluster choices. Had to ask for a refill on my soft drink, which was odd because the server walked by my table, looked over and cruised away. Pricing was ~$17 per entree. Apps, soups and salads seemed a little steep, but I didn't try any at the time of order. If the entrees were actually good, I would gladly entertain a few bucks extra on the price of dinner. Alas, that was not my experience. Having eaten an entree, I find it unlikely that the apps/soups would have proven a pleasant surprise. After the entree, I didn't bother with dessert. All in all, a dinner that far underperformed the obvious attention put into the appearance of the restaurant. Italian places are frequently uninspiring with a few lovely exceptions. This place sets a high bar for itself and stumbles under it with plenty of room to spare. As we speak, a fella that appears to be an employee is walking back and forth around the restaurant having a loud conversation on speakerphone while he looks at his alcohol stock. The mellow instrumental music doesn't stand a chance. Bring a date if you want a laid-back evening that's priced well enough, with a comfortable setting, few interruptions by a server and truly forgettable food. Went to grab some lunch on 1/6/26, ordered my meal and on that meal I added chicken. Meal came out and the chicken that I got served was raw. I'm not the one to complain about service or food, but raw chicken being served is very underwhelming and will no longer be dining with one of my favorite restaurants in Grayson County. read more

La Piazza downtown Sherman. First time here. Nice place to dine. Saturday pizza deal is any 12" for ten dollars. Lunch menu Monday-Friday looks like a bargain. Has a wide variety of Italian food on menu. The only thing I would recommend is olive oil for the fresh bread. We will be back. read more

Restaurant was nice and clean with a friendly staff. Prices were reasonable. My wife had the chicken parmasean and I had the chicken Murphy. The sauce in the chicken Murphy was so delicious I used bread to sop it all up. My plate was so clean it looked new. It had mushrooms, onions and jalapeños. We also bought 2 small chicken Alfredo pizzas for the kids and they were very good and larger than I expected. Pizza was creamy, and cheesy. Would recommend this place. read more

Wow! It all started with the fresh-baked bread - so good. My wife had the Chicken Boscaiola and raved about it. I had the Stromboli and it was perfect. Everything, right down to the Caesar salad dressing, was incredible. Our server, Kaitlyn, and the owner, both made us feel like family. We loved the food so much, we ordered two large pizzas to take home for the weekend. This gem is one you MUST try if you want great Italian food! We'll be back very soon. read more

Me and my boyfriend ordered a meal, i tried the shrimp scampi which i did not like barely touched it, it wasn't the a taste that i enjoyed, so i asked if i could change my order to something i would like better and my boyfriends meal we accidentally ordered the wrong type of stromboli and apologized that it was our mistake and if we could switch it to the correct one. waitress was understanding and said yes and then i guess the guy who owned the place came and asked what was wrong with the food and we explained nothing was wrong it just wasn't something we enjoyed, he then preceded to say well who is going to pay for the food you already ordered and i said well most places if you don't like something or if your order is wrong you are able to change your order. i said if we have to pay for something we didn't like or eat then we will just take our ticket and go, he then said no we don't want u to leave and asked what our replacement order was. I did not like the way he approached us and what he said i felt was rude and not good for customer service, he made me not even want anything from this establishment AT ALL! So we said scratch the replacements we asked for and we will pay for what we had but did not eat and take our services elsewhere. read more
