Beautiful just opened Italian restaurant. Service and food were great. Drove through Sherman and stopped by on a whim.

Got the $8 minestrone soup and ate it in 10 bites. When I called the rude manager said that they use same size for food which I'm assuming cup and bowl? So pre tax and the tip I left I paid .80 per bite of soup. Very disappointing!! read more

Me and my boyfriend ordered a meal, i tried the shrimp scampi which i did not like barely touched it, it wasn't the a taste that i enjoyed, so i asked if i could change my order to something i would like better and my boyfriends meal we accidentally ordered the wrong type of stromboli and apologized that it was our mistake and if we could switch it to the correct one. waitress was understanding and said yes and then i guess the guy who owned the place came and asked what was wrong with the food and we explained nothing was wrong it just wasn't something we enjoyed, he then preceded to say well who is going to pay for the food you already ordered and i said well most places if you don't like something or if your order is wrong you are able to change your order. i said if we have to pay for something we didn't like or eat then we will just take our ticket and go, he then said no we don't want u to leave and asked what our replacement order was. I did not like the way he approached us and what he said i felt was rude and not good for customer service, he made me not even want anything from this establishment AT ALL! So we said scratch the replacements we asked for and we will pay for what we had but did not eat and take our services elsewhere. read more

I've gone here multiple times and every time it's delicious, I haven't tried anything that I didn't like. Both the chocolate cake and tiramisu are dream worthy. The pizzas are clearly of higher quality ingredients, and the pasta dishes never miss. The owner is very kind also, he's talked to me each time I've gone in and gave me a free dessert one time. read more

I ordered their Chicken Piccata to go, and it was honestly just so bad. The chicken looked like it was boiled.. just white chicken, no seasoning, not crispy like chicken piccata should be, and incredibly dry. The sauce was very very watery, not much of a lemon flavor, a little spicy?? and the portion did not equate to the $17 price tag (after tax). The bread was just plain. NOT a pizza place! They do have delicious pizza items on the menu but this is a VERY nice Italian restaurant. The food is over the top. delicious and well presented at proper temperature. The service is friendly and attentive. The prices are very good. (my wife and I payed under $50 for an absolutely delicious meal with desert) The atmosphere gives the impression of a much higher priced venue. Casual attire is fine. Highly recommend La Piazza for date night or special occasion! read more

This crew is amazing.. We ordered a list minute pizza and I didn't get there until after closing time. The staff held onto the pizza until I arrived and made sure all was good before I left. First time we ate there it was pretty good even though I thought the olive oil with herbs to dip the bread in was a bit pricey, but then the next time I ordered a 12 inch pizza with pesto sauce and mozzarella with tomatoes and basil to go, could not believe it had large slices of tomato should have been cherry tomatoes on a pizza and they way overdid it with the mozzarella. Overall the pizza was bland IF i go back maybe I will try something else read more

We were looking forward to an authentic Italian experience, and we didn't have one. My husband and I ordered Chicken Parmesan thinking it was a safe choice for a new restaurant. It was awful! The red sauce was spicy, which isn't something you expect from true Italian cuisine. The tables are really close, which wouldn't be too bad, except the wait staff talks loudly and the canned music is very loud. read more

We had a supreme pizza. The crust is incredible. It's light and extremely tasteful. The server (Joey) was friendly, informative (it was our first time there), and spoke well of the cook staff. The restaurant is upscale casual, and well maintained. read more

To start, our group attempted to make reservations for 7 a week prior to our planned outing. We were told they don't accept reservations, so we planned to arrive early for dinner. We arrived a little before 5. The host was very abrupt asking if we had a reservation, and seemed disgruntled when we stated that we were told you didn't accept reservations. At this point the restaurant is virtually empty. Tables were moved and we were seated. I ordered an appetizer of fried zuccini, $11.95, so I was expecting a large portion to share with the table. There were 6 slices. Round slices, not long slices, and they were burnt. I returned them and received 5 not burned ones. Again they were $11.95, just under the price of an entree. I also ordered a dinner salad that was more dressing than salad. The pasta sauce on the farfalle salmon was very spicy, and not described as such on the menu. Overall, I was very disappointed in this restaurant and definitely won't return. read more

I had high hopes, but La Piazza fell short. Sadly this is a typical Texalian place that commits the same sins as all the rest. While the restaurant is well decorated and the service is top notch, I just can't get past the glaring technical errors coming out of the kitchen. The proteins and pizza are anemic, under-seasoned, and doughy. Color IS flavor and anything fried should be a deep golden brown with textured crispiness, and the pizza should have a small bit of char. As for the (sigh) pasta... It should be matched and tossed with an appropriate sauce, not sat upon a plate and then drowned in watery sauce as if it were a soup. Maybe this is a just a holdover mentality from TexMex where plates are typically covered 1/2" deep in a sauce, but throwing unseasoned spaghetti onto a dish and then ladling scoop after scoop of unreduced sauce just shows a lack of respect for both the craft and the ingredients. While I plan on returning to La Piazza and sampling more of their menu, to which I'll update my review as warranted, I would implore the kitchen staff to visit Lucia in Dallas for a show and tell on proper Italian techniques and flavors. read more
