This has to be said, as it's been weighing extremely heavy on my conscious. To start, I have been coming here for many years. Even living across the states, I still made it a thing to get serviced here, that shows how much I loved my nail tech. it wasn't until a year ago or so, that I began to have these weird and truly unprofessional encounters with the young man in the front, DAVID, who I was told is the manager. That is extremely alarming. to start, David is very disrespectful in the way he talks to women of color. I have never met anyone more rude in my entire life, and to be a MANAGER? Ha. He's even done my nails once and he's the most unfriendliest worker at this salon. if you disagree, let me ask you a question, are you black? Take a minute to check. DAVID is very racist. I didn't realize until one day, my normal tech was taken so I had to get serviced at the front of the store. I was able to see exactly how DAVID interacts with other clients. He greets them with a smile, a gentle tone and with professionalism. He asks them kindly to go and wash their hands, not a "just go and wash your hands" or a dirty look in sight! This entire time I thought he was just a douche bag then I learned he is very capable of providing exemplary customer service to the people he see fit. I seriously don't know who hurt this man-child, but as a paying customer I will NOT stand for this type of treatment. AND as a business owner, I would NEVER treat or speak to my clients like this. Oh wait, there's more. There is a dog in the salon that peed at the front of the store. DAVID uses one of the hand towels they use on clients to clean it! Then I'm thinking he's going to come back with bleach spray, SOMETHING. Nope, that was him, the "MANAGER", cleaning up the dogs pee, with a hand towel that is used on clients. Then the dog takes a scarf out of a clients purse and runs with it/ chews on it. It had to be chased down...in a nail salon. This is unacceptable, therefore I've done the duty of filing a consumer complaint with the office of the attorney general regarding this trifling & extremely unsanitary matter. After patronizing this nail salon for a few years I'm disappointed with the service I received lately. I complained about my pedicures cracking after 2-3 days, their answer was to get gel, which regrettably I did, which cost more and takes more time because the polish removal process is longer, a recent SCHEDULED appointment had 42 minute wait, followed by the next appointment being changed by the tech (Mike) form 9:30am to 2:30pm the day before the appointment, then to 3pm an hour before the reschedule appointment which was rescheduled by the tech. Which is particularly amusing since one of my appointment was modified from a mani/Pedi to just a mani since I was running 15 minutes late. I can respect that my appointment was rescheduled since I was running late (twice in the 9 years I've been a customer) , I can't understand why If this is the policy, how My appointments are WAY behind schedule on multiple occasions lately. The last draw was my latest manicure. It came out horrific, very sloppy it looked like one of my kids did it, I actually went to David (the Manager) and asked "If I posted this and said it was done at your establishment would you be ok with such a post?" I was told my polish was bad, to note this the same polish used on my pedicure and it was not bubbled and my cuticles were neet and the polish did not overlap on my skin. Needless to say 3 hours and 40 minutes later I was not happy, and a significant up charge in their pricing is a hard pill to swallow because the work is below mediocre (the picture attached is the "fixed" finished polish. ) I think because I am/was a regular ( I tip at least 22% and more during the Holidays) my patronage was being taken for granted. I also think the products are being either diluted, or replaced with inferior substitution, meet with disregard for scheduled appointments. I can't continue to be a customer after being charged more for substandard service AND products. Several of my latest appointments are unsatisfactory, which is a shame because I've been going there for years, I've referred 4 people that have used this mail salon. Most of their higher quality polishes are hidden on the right side of the wall that divides the place, but of course they didn't tell me that when they told me to "pick a color"... I heard about La Perfection nails from my co-worker, she told me they carry Nexgen. Nexgen is a powder (similar to Acrylics) that is healthier for your nails. This place is not the cleanest...it is a bit run down. For my 1st visit, I made an appointment with my friend. The owner's brother-in-law did my nails, and he did horrible. Don't get me wrong, he was a very sweet and nice guy, but when it came to my nails, he did a sloppy job. He took an hour and 15 minutes! When he was done, my manicure looked like someone just threw paint on it and it spilled over. The 2nd visit, I requested the nail tech named, Lawn. I saw that she did a much better job the 1st time I was there. Lawn was very quick and pretty precise with Nexgen. The only complain I have is she cut my finger when she was using the drill on my nails. I requested Lawn again for today's appointment, and she cut me again! This time, it was with the cuticle trimmer. If it wasn't for Chinese New Year, I would've waited another week and found another salon to go to. The nail techs here are careless and sloppy... I had a gentleman (didn't get his name) and he was a little rough with the nail-cutting and cuticle trimming. He cut one of the nails so deeply, that my toe hurt for a few days afterwards. Let me just start by saying I am very easy to please and this is my first time ever writing a complaint but this place deserves it. This was the worst nail experience of my life. I recently moved here and have been looking for a place that does powder gel and I was so happy to hear they had it. I asked for a mani/pedi and they started with my mani which when I do gel they usually start with my pedi but I didn't say anything. They didn't use foil to take off my existing gel just soaked. When she started putting the new color on pieces of my old color we're still on she just colored over it. She never put the setting coat when she was done and she never dusted off my nails so when she did the top coat my nails are all grainy. When she was done doing a terrible job with my nails she said I couldn't get a pedicure bc they were doing plumbing but there were plenty of people getting pedicures so I didn't understand. While I was drying my hands she came over and said now I can get a pedicure and she looked at my nails that had some excess polish that normally they would remove with polish remover but she decided to take off the skin that had the color on it. Ouch! So I finally made it to the pedicure, I didn't get offered any special pedicure which is what I wanted I wanted a massage and callous remover. I got no massage and she dug so hard into my toes. While I was sitting there for the pedicure I got a good look at my nails which looked as if I painted them myself. They are grainy and blotchy. I paid by $52 tab and didn't tip anyone.
