The shop manager answered so upbeat and welcoming. It was a funny and pleasant interaction us navigating our different accents but I was already sold. I'm here now and having a really good experience. They are Vietnamese and Tom's English is limited but there's a translator and I showed pics of my likes so all's well. Tom is very thorough and gentle. Immediately stopping and checking with me if I do so much as look up. He's already cleaned my cuticles and the powder is on. Now he's shaping and polishing so nicely I barely feel the tools touching my fingers. Sweet! Quality so great I'm emotional haha. I got dip powder and wasn't charged to remove my old set. Mind you, other Jersey spots quoted me $20 plus added to the service I requested! Yikes! The shop could be a tad cleaner/neater especially as I'm only their second client right now and the other Techs are just sitting around. During my pedicure, I clearly explained multiple times that I wanted regular polish, not gel. However, the employee kept showing me gel colors and did not seem to understand what I was asking for. I even asked another employee to help explain it to him, and after that still did not understand. Then I asked someone else for help, and eventually the manager came over. Instead of helping professionally, the manager responded rudely and told me to "just pick one color" because they "don't have colors for you to see." His attitude was unnecessary and disrespectful, especially as a returning customer. I overlooked a previous issue in the past because everyone has bad days, but after this experience I will not be returning. Customer service and communication matter, and unfortunately this salon failed in both. I would not recommend this place based on how I was treated.

Anytime I go to Tot's, he will check my hair to see if it is healthy enough to do the desired dye before he starts it. Tot and I will review looks and colors to pick the best one.
