La pasteleteria came highly recommended from our Airbnb host and it is visited by locals and tourist. You can park right in front the parking is 13 pesos for like first 2 hours. Free for first 10 min if you are just doing something in and out in the plaza (like using atm at Scotia Bank). We actually parked across the street for free like locals do. I imagine on weekend you wouldn't find a spot. For drinks my husband got the mango pineapple smoothie drink which was delicious. I got the hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was better than tourist traps( nestle pre made) but not as good as other Mexican restaurants I've been too. Was still worth trying though. Food. Be warned in Mexico breakfast places they put out breads and pastries but these are not complimentary. You pay what you consume. They looked good but what opted to what for main dishes. My husband had enfrijoladas de bajío. It was underwhelming to say the least. We got it without meat maybe that makes a difference? The chilaquiles were way better and we could have probably shared it (although server said it was only big enough for one person). I got both red and green sauce I liked the red sauce more. Overall it was good and nice to be away from tourist places, they accept visa! but it was not the best breakfast I had in Mexico, but definitely worth a visit.

We were looking for a Belgian waffle place, but when we saw Pasteletería Malecon, decided to brunch here instead. It's on the beach side of Plaza Las Americas. As the restaurant name suggests, Pasteletería offers a vast array of dessert sweets, actually having a little shop inside the restaurant where you can pick up take-out treats. We had a great breakfast and look forward to returning. The interior is clean, stylish and modern. I loved the brick walls. Pasteletería Malecon has that special knack for playing unobtrusive background music at exactly the right volume. Very nice. They offered us bread and we accepted (me say no to bread?). The basket was filled with a very nice selection of different sizes and shapes. As an FYI - they charge a nominal fee for the bread. I liked that the butter pats came individually wrapped in a dried leaf. JP ordered an Eggs Benedict that was perfectly prepared, served with slices of tomato and white cheese. It was delicious. I opted for an omelet (with mushrooms, of course). Accompanied by deftly seasoned potatoes was a fruit kebob: blueberry, mango, papaya and honeydew. The fruit was sweet and spot on. Of great interest to me was the coffee brewed at the table next to us. Pasteletería used a 3' high device that relied on the physics of gravity and heat energy (plus other bells and whistles) to produce a coffee that very visibly delighted its imbibers. However, it sure took a lot of time and painstaking manipulation by the server with a blowtorch, to successfully launch the brew process. I'm going to definitely order that coffee next time I'm here.

This restaurant is very nice, good decor, lots of seating indoor and outdoor. There's a bakery side if you don't want to eat in. Staff service was average. I got the veranda crepe - spinach, mushroom, cream cheese covered in a white cheesy sauce. For me, it was alright but maybe not the best decision for a breakfast. They offer you a basket of pastries, they are not free but you are charged for each piece you take. They do look good. I got the chocolate croissant - it was just okay...there's some chocolate inside but the pastry itself is a little thick and not flaky.

Fantastic food, good service, and welcoming decor make La Pasteleria a must for visitors in Cancun. We ordered a King Kong Smoothie (banana/chocolate), the Tricolor Flautas, an Aztec Crepe, and a Mole Chicken dish. The King Kong Smoothie was the perfect thing to order for someone who is trying to stay cool in the heat. The black mole was chocolatey and nutty and had some fresh cream on top and was delicious. The Aztec Crepe was likewise a highlight. Don't let the Mexican Cheesecake Factory vibe fool you--this place is an absolute gem!

Went here for breakfast. Where quickly greeted and seated where we desired on patio. Ordered our drinks (coffee and orange juice with kids chocolate milk) as we waited for our food our drinks were brought out with bread. We thought it was complimentary bread as we waited but little did we know they purposely bring bread out and charge what you touch. :( would have been nice to be advices about this as my child quickly grabbed a bit of everyone as I was busy chatting with mother. Coffee was delicious, waffle was delicious, omelettes were ok, we've have better. Recommend for good coffee and yummy bread. Prices were but expensive. Around $$ten dollars per person$$

The pastries basket that they bring out before you order (thought it was free, but they ended up charging us for it)

Went here for breakfast our first day in Cancun- it was within walking distance to where we were staying so super convenient. When we sat down they brought us a basket of pastries which were pretty tasty (we thought they were free, like when you get bread with your meal but in the end they ended up charging us). Also ordered a michelada here and I'm used to this being more red due to the tomatoes and this was a more brown color but boy did it taste good! I ordered the Chilaquiles with verde sauce and fried eggs- it was huge and so good! The verde sauce was the perfectly tart and our waiter brought us out some AMAZING hot sauce! Overall I would come back here for breakfast/brunch next time I'm in Cancun and recommend it to friends and family!

The food was amazing. Had salmon ceviche, it was some of if not the best I've ever had. We also had molcajate (probably spelling it wrong). The flavor was incredible. We didn't have any alcohol. The juice I had was average. Service was average. Coffee wasn't good. We got there at noon and couldn't have breakfast so if you're a late riser go for lunch. The food was great though.

Dessert was good but what really stood out to me was their service. Don't mean to call out our server out but he needs to be. Jose. Super rude. Everyone else is super sweet but the server and two other people one female by the cash register at the drinks and the male who I am assuming flirting with are super rude. Zero help. But more importantly the server Jose was telling the other male how we are just ordering bread and gave us the dirty look. On top of that, Jose got our drink order wrong. Then Jose came over and ask us how much tip we want to give with the bill. At that rate I really didn't want to give tip. But we needed up to give 5% tip because we just want to hurry up get out of there, enjoy our trip in Cancun, and away from Jose snobby attitude & rolling eyes. Excuse my bitterness, it must have came out of my nasty incorrect drink. Way to go Jose. I recommend if you come here, know what you want and get a different server. desserts & bread good. For bread we got chocolate croissant, vanilla cream filled and cheese tart looking. Dessert we got lemon tart and strawberry cheese cake. For he business I recommend those who are working on the front of the business to become servers because they are much more nicer than the actual servers themselves.

I spent a nice afternoon with a book indoors by the window. It was a warm day so for me, I preferred staying inside with the air. The basket was full of tasty treats... I tried to eat a taste of all of them since the selection was nice (didnt realize the costs for each) and that you didnt have to eat all of them! Anyhow, I enjoyed some tea and brunch and a "show." By show, I mean the gentleman in front of me chowing down two huge entree plates. Flautas never looked soooooo good. I can still hear the :::crispcrisp::: sounds. I tried to give him the eye that I enjoyed watching him eat, but then realized how creepy that may look. Anyways, had I not been so full, I probably would have ordered some. Overall, friendly staff and a great food. (I took off a star mainly bc on the window ledge, there was an ant army. They didn't crawl to my table but still a bit uneasy being near so many.) Anyway, I would definitely go back!

Chilaquiles x2 and crepas con helado vanilla #Cancun2016
    Danny C.

Took a start to a late breakfast (brunch) and was happy with the chilaquiles with egg AND chicken. Originally ordered the chilaquiles with salsa verde, served with a side of habanero salsa AND also ordered salsa roja on the side. Finished with crepas with helado vanilla. Good stuff. Would recommend

I am still here eating but I had to stop and review, first time ever I take a break from food to write. This place is amazing, I been in cancun for two weeks, this place was on my list to come, I wish I came sooner but I have more days left so I will be back. This coffee I had is absolutely delicious, made right in front of you in this heated cylinder, it felt like I was in science class. It's so worth the trip just to have this. The place is huge, menu is in Spanish, pancakes the best I ever had, the baked goods you get while you wait are to die for. The service impeccable. I just ordered more food will be back to update this and post more pics.

Omg the bread basket they gave us when we sat down was beautiful and each one had its own unique taste and every piece tasted delicious! The only thing is that I was too full to eat my regular meal after trying all 6 pastry items. Overall, fabulous presentation and great vibe! I recommend everyone to come and try their pastries. This first part of review was written before the bill came. This part of the review after we saw the bill. A final note for people who thought the 6 pastry were free like we did. They are NOT free. As the bill came, I noticed they listed the pastry for 21 pesos each. We didn't mind the charge but just to warn people for people who thought that it's complimentary like we thought. If you can speak Spanish ask. The whole experience was still fabulous!

Pastries were delicious, iced latte was good, Focaccia pizza was bland and not very flavorful. Cute place to grab some snacks.
