I was at HH this week with friends. They always order calamari for appetizers whenever we eat out. We did so here but they were awful. No taste, no salt, no seasonings, chewy. We asked the server for salt and hit sauce to see if it would help. It didn't, they were inedible. We told the server there was a problem with the calamari. She went to get the owner as she's not authorized to make changes to the bill. The owner came over to our table and refused to believe a bad batch of calamari is a possibility. He was very rude to us, argued loudly in the bar area where other customers could hear! No discretion, no accommodation, totally dismissive of our concern. I came here for an event dinner with a group of about 30. Dinner was buffet style, but we had staff maintaining the buffet, clearing tables, and refilling water. All of this was done promptly by very friendly and helpful staff. The meal was excellent, with 3 hot appetizers and 3 entrees, plus fruit, salad and dessert. The bar was adjacent to our dining room. The menu features house martinis prominently. There was less of a focus on other types of cocktails, but the staff made anything on request... though they were not always sure of their well liquors, and they were out of certain less prominent ingredients such as various types of bitters. Based on the food service we received, this seems to me to be a good choice for hosting an event or for a holiday meal. read more

Just ate at La Notte Waterside Grille and we ordered the San Francisco Cioppono. Meal came out and there were mussels that were not opened up. Told the bartender and she immediately took them in the back to the chef. 15 minutes later she brought the mussels back out. We finished our dinner and drinks, asked for the bill. I got the bill and questioned her about the mussels that were not opened. She told us that the chef in the back opened them and brought them back out. We asked to speak to the owner Savas Karagiannis. When I questioned him about the mussels that were not opened, he stated that he buys FROZEN seafood that is already cooked. I told him that I don't want my meal comped but I feel like something should be done. He proceeded to go In the back and brought out the FROZEN back of seafood. I told him I don't give a shit about what your package says, mussels need to be opened when they are cooked properly. He proceeded to tell me that he has been in business longer than I have been alive at which point I lost my shit and told him that he was a piece of shit and I would never come back here. His response was, I'm glad that I will never see your face again. He threatened to call the police, which I told him; go ahead and I'll be outside waiting. Terrible customer service from the owner but the bartender was amazing and apologetic for his actions. I'll be filing a complaint with the Health Department in Windsor. Just be aware that they serve FROZEN seafood in their restaurant which isn't advertised anywhere. read more

I originally came for a good view, but the food stole the show! I got the calamari to start, and the Seafood Classico was out of this world. So creamy and tasty. I'm just in town for a couple days, but I'll be eating dinner here each night. My server, Michelle, was also very, very nice and beared with all of my menu questions. The self-serve buffet included traditional Thanksgiving fare. Most of dishes were barely warm or outright cold. The stuffing was mushy. We were in the 3rd seating and maybe the first 2 seatings were better, but some items were not refilled for us - like fruit and cheese platter and soup. If a family wants an upscale family dinner this place isn't it. The price with 22% gratuity was about $60 pp which isn't pricy considering other options. I must first compliment our server this evening and while there observing all the servers- everyone was pleasant and smiling and attentive. The perfect amount of attention through the meal. I was disappointed though in my meal. I had chicken Victoria it was supposed to have pan seared chicken with mushrooms spinach and sun dried tomatoes over angel hair pasta. The ingredients were there but the chicken had no flavor. The sauce for the chicken was tasty but the sun dried tomatoes were overpowering and almost bitter. The sauce if separate was good. I just love the Contemporary design of this restaurant and it's it's on the waterfront. I'm very confused about the low ratings for this wonderful restaurant. We had wonderful service. Our waitress Jakeea was just a be light and she handled everything fast and courteous. I did encounter a problem with the main dish that I ordered I ordered the surf and turf which includes a strip steak but clearly it was a sirloin they handled it and made everything satisfactory I get that we're humans and sometimes we mix up things. I ordered an appetizer from their specials menu artichokes Francaise. I have to admit that it was my first time trying artichokes Française but since at a different restaurant I ordered a fried cheese from say and it was a delight I had to try it with artichokes. It did not disappoint!!! Also tried their in-house made cream of mushroom soup made with fresh portobello mushrooms and a nice creamy base. I also had the surf and turf which featured a New York strip. And two shrimp with their in-house made seafood stuffing. It's okay with the baked potato and vegetable mix on the side. We also ordered for dessert a death by chocolate cake which I think they called chocolate mousse. I can't wait to actually go outside when it's a beautiful day out and eat on their patio overlooking the Waterfront. read more

I really wanted to give La Notte a better score...but the food just did not support it. My wife and I had dinner here recently. the location has seen several incarnations over the years. This is the first time we have visited since the pandemic, and were looking forward to a nice dinner with a view. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional, knowing to be both attentive without hovering. I ordered their 14 oz. NY steak, which came with baked potato and mixed vegetables. The salad, though a bit small, was fresh, and served on a chilled plate. The main course was a disappointment. The steak, ordered medium, was slightly overdone...not a major thing...but it was only about 1/2 inch thick, seemed to be about half the size of the promised 14 oz. and did not really resemble any NY strip I've seen in the past. Worse yet were the vegetables, a combination of yellow and green squash, carrots and broccoli florets, which were over-cooked, dull, unseasoned and mushy...obviously cooked way too early and left on the steam table too long. Even if the steak met expectations, this accompaniment would have brought the whole meal down a few notches. La Notte does a healthy catering business, and there was a large party there that night. Perhaps it would be best if they concentrated on that part of the business, and offer fare on the restaurant side which is easier to prepare ala carte. Had mother's Day brunch here, self serve buffet style. The food was mostly ok, shrimp was flavorless and tough from being over cooked and didn't have any salt in their cooking water so had a rather bland flavor,1 bad enough I couldn't finish them. Sausage and bacon were swimming in their grease so anything near the bottom of the tray was dripping. The flavor wasn't bad on the sausage and bacon is bacon. The eggs were rather rough but not the worst I've had for eggs made in a hotel pan, the prime and pork at the carving station were both good and the French toast was nice and fluffy, and the dessert options were mostly store bought. The waitsaff was polite and friendly when they around, they had a self fill water station to get little plastic cups of water outside had the view of a pond with small fountains and treeline as a backdrop. Overall the food was so/so. Don't think I would recommend this place to go out to eat. read more

The worse dinning experience ever. i ordered crab cakes to start and they were gross. That wasn't the only issue with my meal. I got the surf and turf and didn't eat anything but one of the two stuff shrimps that was the surf. The steak was over cooked, dry and chewy. When the owner came out and offered to take it off the bill, I was surprised he only deducted the cost for the steak $12 and charged $24 for the two pieces of shrimp that was the only thing that tasted half way decent that I did eat one of . Since the shrimp was all I could eat and sent back the majority of my food I shouldn't have had to pay for any of that meal. I thought that was tacky and bad customer service and will not be eating there again. We tried supporting local business in town and this is how we get treated. We should have gone to the place we initially planned on going to. read more

We dined out at La Notte on A Sunday night previous to closing and had great, efficient service. Steve, our server, was nice, and delivered our drinks and food very quickly. I ordered the arugula salad, which kind of doubles as a caprese with arugula, fresh basil leaves and AMAZING fresh mozzarella drizzled with a balsamic reduction. To die for. We both ordered flatbreads --'mine was the pesto, my husband ordered the special, which essentially is everything. The flatbread crusts were terrific--crunchy crusts with soft insides. Ask for extra sauce if you like it saucy. While La Notte is not located in a high traffic area, it's worth the trip. They have a 2 person special that is amazingly economical, includes a bottle of wine, and is worth ordering, or even just perusing and mouth watering over. Our first visit and we enjoyed earning 4 stars. Sorry, but only my Michelin star restaurant reviews have earned the coveted 5 star designation. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the owner visits tables to ensure happy customers. Prices very reasonable based on quality. Owner promised all seafood fresh not frozen. We started with the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella with balsamic glaze, excellent! I had the LaNotte seafood Classico and my wife had Pasta Napolitano. Both are house specialties. The menu is very family friendly and has classic Italian specials such as pizza. LaNotte is a nice family atmosphere and my only pet peeve is the wooden tables without linens(and I say this everywhere they don't use linens, so not a knock here). I just returned home from La Notte Waterside Grille. We had a baby shower for our daughter. The restrictions due to Covid where followed to the tee. Temps were taken, masks were required and social distancing was followed. I'm here to say, we were EXTREMELY happy with this venue. The event manager, Marlena was just perfect. I knew from the first time I spoke with her that everything was going to meet our expectations. The set up was perfect, food was delicious and presented nicely. The buffet was served to us and food was plentiful and delicious. We added on the unlimited orange sherbet mimosas and we were so happy we did. The staff all the way from the owner to his waitresses were extremely polite and were definitely there to please. We would strongly recommend this venue for any type of an event. We can not thank you all enough for such a smooth and pleasant experience. Kudos, your establishment does it RIGHT! read more

We've been twice: once for happy hour and once for dinner. For happy hour they have cheap appetizers and good drink specials. The bar is spacious and you can always get a seat though they need more comfortable bar stools. For dinner, they have a special for two meals and a bottle of wine for $59. We enjoyed the chicken parm (a huge dish!). My husband got the lobster ravioli and wasn't overly impressed, I'd stick with the basics here. Good value and decent portions, mediocre food. Ok so we made a reservation and needed up being late and we called and they were super cool about it When we got there i ordered a cosmopolitan martini which was very strong but very good and for an appetizer we had the artichokes in a franchisee sauce I had never tried them my friend got me to try them and omg soooo good absolutely amazing all around!! Then I had a salad with balsamic vinaigrette and it was very good and my friend had the cream of mushroom soup which she absolutely loved. Then for our entrees I had the scallop casserole with vegetables and rice and then my friend had the surf and turf which consisted of a strip steak when the meal arrived she started to eat her steak and then she said that it looked and tasted like a sirloin and I was like yes it does so we let the waitress know when she asked us how the meal was and she was polite and went to inform someone and then the manager came over and we also explained the steak to her and she went back to chefs and came back and told us that yes it was indeed a sirloin not a strip so we got 20% off our bill and a free dessert which we both settled on the chocolate mousse cake but I have to say we still enjoyed the meal and the great service read more

Nice location but the food was very disappointing to say the least. We hosted a party there and despite paying for a tasting few days in advance to make sure we select the dishes we like for the event, the food served during the event was nothing like it. The chicken was very hard to even cut with a knife and had no flavor or color, the sauce was also very bland (compared to the same dish prepared for the tasting). The shaved beef was dry and chewy, with very little sauce making it hard to swallow. The roasted potatoes were extremely dry and stale, as if they were reheated from days prior. We really wanted to like this place, the service and staff were nice, but the food left us feeling disappointed and quite frankly embarrassed, considering the high prices and their marketing. read more

Called ahead to make a reservation, which we were obliged since it was an early dinner. Arrived to the restaurant with no host to greet us. Poked around into the dining room to get someone's attention. Were sat and server came a while later after waiting. Asked for for water and bread service. Our disdain was obvious after waiting five minutes another server stopped to check on us to make sure drinks and food order were taken. We let her know we also asked for bread service. She immediately brought us bread. Our server, five minutes later delivered the first course and subsequently later offered bread and turned around, realizing we had bread on the table. My initial thought was server should have done better to drop the extra bread instead of return it back to the kitchen. It was just awkward when it did not have to be. Later entrees received. The chicken marsala was so over-cooked as was the halibut. When server inquired to satisfaction with meal, I did not hesitate to let him know how overcooked the food was. He said verbatim, 'they prefer to overcook than undercook.' He left and that was that. I was dumbfounded. After that comment he came back 10 minutes later and asked us again how everything was. I was speechless that either he forgot the entire conversation or pretended it never happened. I asked for a dessert menu and server said he would tell us the options instead. Craving a dessert a try since the meal itself could not be all consumed how bad it was. Ordered the tiramisu. While good it was a tiramisu flavored layered cake, not the real deal. Neither of which was told by server. The cake was served on a plate too small for the slice given. It clearly wasn't made in house. There were zero apologies given and it was a true showing of rookie service with no management acknowledgment. Having to flag down for water he gave an excuse to lack refilling waters because he had been busy serving others ordering alcohol. Again an unwelcome comment excusing his bad service. Please heed, Devon should be given further training and guidance in customer service and problem resolution. Overall, between service and meal I would never recommend. Caesar salad/lettuce was very crisp, croutons, not so good, overall was okay, but nothing special. Ist dinner was Scrod, cooked well, but NO seasoning, rice pilaf served With it was excellent. Vegetable medley was cooked well but had NO seasoning. 2nd dinner was Halibut, Good sized serving, perfectly cooked NO SEASONING. Tasteless. Vegetable medley cooked well NO Seasoning. Head of dining staff came over to ask how dinner was, we told her above, she said she would bring sauces, but we had mostly finished dinner and did want sauces. read more
