I chose this salon for its late hours to fit my schedule. I got a gel pedicure and dip powder manicure which were done at the same time, and was there for nearly 2.5 hours. The pedicure was done efficiently and the technician was kind, but the manicure took the entire time, with the technician frequently using/checking her phone and left me waiting. The results were fine, but the service felt unprofessional--no basic mani-pedi should take that long. I won't be returning. read more

Yesterday morning my mom and I came into LA Nails & Spa which use to be Posh 29. We had been there many times and before and after change of ownership. My mom recently had gone and got a pedicure with hot rocks and the technician gave a great massage. She loved her. This time was quite different. I had requested gel nail polish. The technician cut my nail awkwardly. Then she put the lotion on before the nail polish and we all know if we have had gel polish that you put it on after. The polish didn't even look well done. When I confronted the owner about not getting a massage she talk to the technician and she said she did give one. Wow I didn't know rubbing in lotion is considered a massage. I could have done that at home for free. My mom asked her technician for the hot rocks. She got bags of hot wax instead. Then her technician went to start on another customer while my mom's feet stayed in the wax bags she didn't ask for. We had to ask her to take them off and start the nail polish. When she finally started to paint the nails it took her forever. Didn't even look that nice. When I went to pay the lady said no charge for the wax but what about my no massage and terrible nail paint job. I will have to think twice to come back to this place. OMG the staff was so precious ! They are under new management since May. They Totally welcomed me and my sister even though she wasn't getting a service . They offered her a beverage to make her feel comfortable too! I started with a facial wax - done quickly and beautifully. Then had an amazing pedicure while Sara did a take off and full set ombré pink and white . She listened to my request and made the look natural- not too pink and white and I LOVE them ! I type so the length is perfect for me too. I travelled from Fairfield and walked in after having brunch and it was the perfect cap to my day ! Highly recommend ! I've given this place multiple chances in pedicure attempts thinking maybe it's just an off day but the final straw was them messing up my eyebrows. Massage is never great. Coats and lines are never even. One time I had the gel peel off 2 days after getting them done. Eyebrows wise: One is now thinner than the other. She made them two different shapes. There's sticky wax all over my face. She even got some in my hair. She handed me the mirror to see, and outside of the shock of them being awful, I still needed them cleaned up so I asked her and pointed to where they were still not done and then after the third time I asked for the tweezers to just get the strays myself. I had to pluck all my own stray hairs!! The tweezers were dirty and dull so maybe that's why. Not an apology either. All they said was "it's okay, she made a mistake" - it's not okay. They knew they had someone coming in and this was a massive mistake. She cleaned the area before with a dry piece of toilet paper of some sort. Apparently a cotton ball? Who knows. Wasn't sanitary regardless. You can spend your money elsewhere for better service. read more

Gave this place a shot, walked in on a Friday with only one customer should have taken that as a red flag. they seated my mother and I for a pedicure and the work is sloppy same goes for my dip tip nails. these ladies normally do a wonderful job! shape, technique and application from this bunch is unbeatable. however, this last visit was not the happiest. i got a fill (which i normally don't put polish over) and they used a color that did NOT match the previous. they tried to tell me it was because they didn't have the right color after they had already finished the set. this was strange to me given i got the original color from them(?). i couldn't tell there was a difference until it was too late to even put polish over the error. this seems like it could've been avoided, but there was a lack of communication and a smidge of laziness. i normally can stomach the high cost of this place because of the amazing work, but this last visit left me feeling sick that i paid so much for such a mediocre set and cold bath water. otherwise, i definitely recommend coming here-- just pay attention to little things like this throughout the session to avoid carelessness that could force you to leave unhappy. read more

I just wanted my acrylics off and she had me soak my whole fingers in a bowl of acetone for a long time. And she got a bowl of hot water to put under the bowl of acetone. My fingers felt all dried out and the acetone got way too hot. She filed my nails so aggressively to get the acrylic off that she cut me on multiple nails. I just wanted my cuticles cleaned up and no color or clear polish. She charged me $25. Seemed expensive. My fingers are so dried out and peeling. read more

My mom and I have been going here for years and have been happy with it. However today the owner was so incredibly rude and racist to a Black customer that we will never go back. It was deeply upsetting and the only thing more upsetting is that we didn't stand up and say something at the time. We should have walked out immediately and I am very sorry we did not. To the women who were at the receiving end of the owner's abuse, if you see this: we are so sorry we did not speak up. We will not be returning to Posh 29. Wanted to like this salon but I had went in to get regular SHORT white nails n pedi. While I went to go wash my hands after they were done with my nails my bf went to go pay for me n they charged him $115 ?!?!! I gave Posh29 a chance because it was on my way home from work. I called around 4:45 pm to ask if I could come in around 6 for a gel manicure (they close at 7). Not very far into my manicure, I could tell it was not going well. The woman doing my nails was incapable of keeping polish on my nail and when she would try to clean it up with acetone and a brush, she would either miss the polish on my skin or end up taking off some of the polish on my actual nail. I tried to trust the process and was hoping she had a plan to clean it up at the end. When I could see she was almost done, I kindly asked that she clean them up, pointing out that there was polish on my skin on every nail on almost all sides of the nail. She began to file & pick at them but was doing a very rushed job and ultimately, not making them much better. At some point, another woman stepped in and asked that I move to her chair so she could fix them. She filed the top coat off, added another coat of color, and then the top coat again. And then proceeded to try and clean up the sides, being mostly unsuccessful and picking at my nails quite aggressively. I could see my nails were not getting much better and they did not care to put the time in to fix them. Additionally, my nails were extremely thick because I had a base coat, 5 coats of color, and a top coat. When she "finished" she said "Done!" and told me that they would be cleaned up after a few hand washes. Even though I knew this would probably be the case, it does not seem right that someone would pay for a "professional" service and leave with very messy nails that they could have probably done at home. I decided it was better to just leave because nothing was getting better. Throughout the last 5+ minutes I was there, 3 other woman (including the one who initially was working on my nails) were standing around me and the desk with their jackets and purses, waiting to leave. It was very uncomfortable. I understand they wanted to get home, so did I, but it is unfortunate that this salon was not willing to put in a little more time and effort to ensure their client was getting something that was quality. I paid $32 for a solid-color, plain gel manicure. After my initial comment of asking to clean up my nails, not one more word was said to me until checking out. They continued to converse with each other, but did not apologize or say anything else to me as they continued to rush. On my way out, the woman who had attempted to clean up my nails shrugged her shoulders and said "Sorry‍," implying she knew that they had not done a good job.
