Super expensive with many hidden fees. I went in and got the Paradise Pedicure. $40 at the time of this writing. It was a good pedicure. Nicely done, but when it was time to pay, they said $75!!! They refused to detail how we got from $40 to $75. They said gel was $15 extra, but they wouldn't tell me what the other extra $20 was for, then a representative saw this review and commented that the $20 was for paraffin dip and French tips. This is the first time I've been gouged so badly for those things. Most shops charge $5 each for paraffin and French tips. I've never been charged extra for gel. In my mind, they're just telling me not to come back. They're good, but not $75 worth! read more

Just a quick update because this shop is still my favorite place for nails....you can't beat the amazing service calm and relaxing ambiance! My mother in law has dementia and they are extremely patient and friendly with her even tho it's hard for her to not fidget! I leave feeling like a pampered queen!!!! I made an appointment over the phone and received a quote that was very reasonable compared to other salons in the area. I've always passed by this house-turned salon and I loved the cleanliness and cozy vibe. I would suggest playing some music and diffusing oils to enhance the environment. My nail tech Autumn was very nice and easy to talk to during my visit. She filed my nails to perfection and fixed the design after I had asked for some changes with the hearts. Finding a new nail salon in Sacramento has been like finding a unicorn. It's rare and when you find it, it's a miracle! (I know, unicorns aren't real but that's besides the point) After being faithful to my salon in SF for 10 years, when I moved up here I began the hunt for my new salon. Getting my nails done is "me time" and I look for relaxing therapeutic salons where I feel I get pampered. Not like I'm a head of cattle waiting to get seated, polished and pushed out in 20 minutes. 2 years and almost 15 salons later I didn't have much success (for varying reasons). I continued with appointments back in SF and made the trek to get amazing service, cleanliness and polish because of the disappointing experiences in Sacramento. I am happy to say that my experiences at Sky Nails are like my go to salon in SF. I was able to make an appointment easily and was greeted warmly by Kevin and Lily. They were so kind and got me settled in and my feet soaking quickly. I liked immediately that they used new liners for the foot soak basins, and the entire salon is clean and relaxing. They organize their polishes (makes it easy to find the color you want, no searching rows and rows of colors) and offer you something to drink. They have a nice waiting area and massage chairs. My first time I had the Deluxe Pedicure for $35 and boy was I glad I did it! Lily cleaned, massaged, exfoliated, moisturized and buffed my feet for 30 mins and I am amazed at how soft and supple they feel! My recent time around I went for a gel polish and regular pedicure. I was thrilled at how great my hands and feet looked! Both Lily and Kevin do a great job polishing. No weird lumps, bubbles or mess. Little details like making sure the polish went all the way to the sides leaving no gaps of color on the nail bed, to using the small brush to clean up the polish and make sure I didn't have polish on my skin are things excellent salons do. I can't recommend Sky Nails enough after my experiences. The salon is clean and peaceful and you are treated like you're at a spa. This is not the kind of place that charges you $20 for a 20 minute pedicure while you're sitting in a room with 25 strangers. You feel like you get individual attention and can enjoy a magazine, quiet or even nap. So please head over to Sky Nails and show them your support for a local East Sac salon! They really care about your experience and it shows. Their prices are the same as a lot of salons I've been to, so you're not paying more for the lovely manicure/pedicure you receive at Sky Nails. read more

Service was really great, the ladies were so sweet. However, I was not a fan of my manicure and the end result. When the technician pulled out the cuticle cutters, they sprayed it with a janky little bottle of alcohol which made me wonder if that was them sanitizing it in between clients? Also, the spray was in a sharp stream so I saw the alcohol missed the blades all together. Instead of having me wash my hands after the manicure portion, they sprayed the alcohol on my nails and wiped them with the dirty towel in which many fibers from the towel were stuck to my hands. However, even after giving it a second chance-i still had to return numerous times to get my nails fixed from a nail dip. They break, chip, and peel to quickly. My nails haven't been the same since. I feel like my nail reviews boil down to whether it looks good, feels good, and if the massage chair gives a good, hard massage. This place is all 3. My gel mani looks great, and, yeah, there's a smallish color selection, but it's a smallish place. You might wait a little to be seen, you might wait a little in between, but you also might get a great massage and make good conversation. I'll be back, I recommend it. Ive had one great experience here, thats why i was returning to see Autumn. But the evening she did my nails she must have been upset and tired. She was extremely rough working on my cuticles. I asked for a soak off on acrylic and went with dip so my natural nails can heal. She was so rough on my nails i wanted to walk out but refrained from doing it because i really needed my nails done for xmas and no other salons were open. Not even a week later my dip has started to peel off. I didn't want to write a full negative review so I'm giving this place 3 stars and recommend you book your appointment first thing in the morning and not last at night. read more

If I could give it no stars I would. My wife went in there yesterday have her acrylics removed. What she informed me that happen was atrocious. The woman there didn't do the standard practice of soaking the acrylics in acetone to loosen the acrylic nails and remove them, instead she cut the tips wedged a piece of acrylic under her nails and proceeded to rip them off, sans an acetone soak. Never have I ever been so livid at a business for not following standard procedure and causing my wife pain and discomfort. Even though the woman had excellent customer service skills the practice that she used was painful and not standard practice. We will never be returning here again nor should anyone go here for acrylic removal. read more

The Yelp and Nextdoor reviews were good for this place, and I live in East Sac and am always on the lookout for new nail salons. I got a gel manicure from Kevin. He was super nice and they made some green tea for me to sip on while he worked. He took his time and was fun to talk to. The interior of the salon is very clean and the pedicure massage chairs look to be in great shape - some of them in other salons are worn, but not these. I'm not the type to leave reviews but this place was not good. I got a pedicure & polish wasn't even nice looking on my toes, there's was areas she forgot to put polish. There's like 5 toes where the nail polish isn't even on all the way and I don't get how you couldn't see that when you were doing it. I literally could of did this myself. I had a 5 o'clock appointment with Autumn, the owner, and when I came in, Autumn told me to wait. I ended up waiting 45 minutes and then she tried to have some guy do my nails. I did not want him to do my nails because I had made the appointment with her. She said to have him do my nails because she was busy! Ate you kidding me?? So, I left. This is the second time it's happened to me here and I'm not coming back. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because they are within walking distance. I had manicures and pedicures by Tweety a couple times when Nancy (now Phoebe) began working at the salon. Phoebe has now taken over and brought in her son and daughter-in-law. I am very pleased with the service - and prices - at Sky Nails. They are meticulous about cleanliness. They use a plastic liner in the foot well of their chairs. They take their tools out of sealed packages before using them. I have been extremely happy with my pedicures. In some places the nail technicians are rough and/or are too busy talking to one another to do a good job. That doesn't happen at Sky Nails. Just had a great pedicure! Autumn was very pleasant and friendly. My 12 year old niece came with me and had a mani and pedi. They did a great job on her too. Usually with kids appts at other salons, I find they race through and dont spend as much time. They spent the same amount of time on our pedis. Very relaxing and the citrus scrub was awesome!
