I called on a Sunday around 6pm and she was able to accommodate two of us. It was only Ruby. The place is nice sized inside with four big comfy massage chairs. Ruby has a great personality and is very friendly. I got a pedicure and she took her time and it felt great. There are 3 different package. I opted for the middle one and it was super nice. I'll be back soon. The prices are great and atmosphere is nice. read more

If I could give zero starts I would. I came in as a walk in with only one tech already mid service. Waited patiently. Told her I purposely grew out my set so have them soaked off and gel added on my natural nail. The tech proceeds to clip and rip my nails off down to nothing, leaving one fingernail bleeding. She is rushing because someone else walks in. I keep telling her she is hurting me and that's not what I asked her to do. After my nails were all off and cut down I told her I would not like to continue the service Bcus she was not listening to me. She then forced me to pay $10 via Venmo for this painful service I kept asked her to stop doing. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

A modest size, low key nail salon with a nice owner present. I walked in without an appointment for an overdue manicure and pedicure, and waited just a few minutes before being seated for service . They have just a few massage chairs and couple of nail stations, nothing super fancy, but everything looked clean. The lady (I believe the owner) did a great job on my nails. The price was very reasonable for both and I was done within a hour . The atmosphere is not a spa like environment, where you sip sparkling wine or anything . Just a very well run neighborhood nail shop with really nice people :) read more

This place is my go to for nails! I recommend calling in advance to see if Amy, the owner, can fit you in the same day or make an appointment. She does my gel manicure and she does it with a quickness and quality job. She doesn't overcharge either. Amy is friendly and very sweet. I found a Groupon for two gel manicures for a really good price, so I couldn't resist buying them and giving this place a try. I'm usually hesitant to use Groupons at nail salons because most salons treat you poorly once they find out you have a Groupon. However, that is not the case at TJ Cut & Spa. I called ahead and booked an appointment for my first of two gel manicures for a Thursday night after work. When I arrived, there were several ladies getting manicures and pedicures but I was attended to fairly quickly. I picked out my color and the lady got straight to work. She was pleasant and engaged in light conversation. But the best part? She didn't try to pressure me or up-sell me any products or services. And when I reminded her that I had a Groupon, she didn't treat me any differently - her service was just as friendly as it had been before. My nails came out amazing and last a whole two weeks (before I chose to have them removed). I am heading into my second gel manicure appointment tomorrow and I am hoping it is as amazing as the first. read more

Love my manicure! I asked for a gel manicure with chrome. You can pick any of their gel colors and they can make them chrome. I chose a cute pink color and then when she added the chrome it made my nails look like rose gold. I'm in love. Great service, friendly staff! read more

I received a Groupon, which was why I decided to come here to get a manicure instead of going to my regular nail lady. The shop is a bit hidden and one can easily miss it, but luckily, I was kept my eyes opened and spotted it AND there was one parking spot left :) There isn't much parking available in the lot, but there is street parking. There are also restaurants and a gas station in the little plaza. I was instantly greeted and welcomed when I walked in, which proves that they do care for and notice their clients. After reading some great reviews, I did call ahead of time and book for Amy. I noticed how sanitary and organized the shop was, which to me, is one of the most important aspects in any restaurant/store/shop I go to. She was with another client when I went in, but she did tell me to pick out a gel color and it wasn't long until she sat me at her station. She took her time in filing and painting my nails, making sure everything was perfect and free of flaws. Throughout the process, it was a bit awkward since Amy and her coworker were just talking among themselves and another client and I were just quietly sitting there. All in all, Amy does a great job and she won't disappoint. I do have to say though, if you're one that prefers a talkative nail technician, you may have to start the conversation and keep having to bring up new topics. Other than that, this shop is sanitary, the ladies are nice, and they do a wonderful job. I had to get my nails done for a holiday party at work, and I'm not a regular at getting my nails done, so I went to the closest salon I could find, and I was very impressed. I walked into the salon with no appointment and I was greeted right away. As soon as I had a color picked out Jackie brought me back for my basic manicure (the cheapest they offer, which even came with a hand and arm massage). She was very sweet even when I accidentally messed up on of the nails she redid it with a smile on her face. She even curled my hair for the party and in total I paid less than I would for a regular manicure at some of the other salons around the area. Also it is very clean, which I would not have expected from the affordable rates!!! Definitely worth it! I might even become a nail salon regular, at the very least if I ever need my nails done I'll be coming back here. read more

This is my second time coming to TJ Cut & Spa. I saw a deal for 2 gel manicures for $34 and thought it was a steal. The nail salon is near Sac State and I'm in this area quite often. The salon is hidden in a small area near a gas station, and there isn't a parking lot. However, there is plenty of street parking! TJ Cut & Spa offers all types of polishes from OPI, DND, etc. Both nail technicians that worked on my nails we're very quick AND detailed! I was in and out of the salon in about 30 mins. They took the time to fix/trim my cuticles, and my nails we're painted perfectly! Will be definitely returning! read more

The owner took very good care of me. I was very nervous going in, but with in a few minutes had me completely at ease. She worked on my feet carefully and gently. When it was time to do my fingers, she took the same care to make sure they came out the way I wanted them to. She is friendly, and very kind. While I was there, a man came in to ask if she takes walk-ins. This is one place to know ahead of time, make an appointment. Everything will go smoother, for both you, and your beauty consultant/nail care technician. This allows for them to have enough time to finish with each client, and there is no waiting. I think it helps in a way to make each client to feel special. I will definitely be going back again. read more

Came here with my boyfriend's mom for gel manicures. I was looking for a nearby place from where we were and came across this place on Yelp. I called to see what the availability was and if it was okay if I came down in the next 10 mins. They were really accommodating and did a beautiful job with our nails. We requested to get tips and almond shaped nails. The women who work here are really nice and thorough with their work. Gel on natural nails cost $20 and if you ask for tips it's $35 which is super affordable. I will definitely be coming back. It's a cute little shop but it was a good experience. read more

I found this nail salon through a Groupon I purchased for a very affordable $15 gel manicure. I called to set up my appointment a few days in advance for a morning session with Mimi. The day of, I arrived and was greeted by 2 nail techs, and I was led to pick a gel color from the many selections they had! Mimi was so kind and gentle with my nails, as she didn't go too fast or rough with my fingers. I will definitely be returning for a matching pedicure soon! The one thing I need to mention is the parking, as it is pretty limited, but you can always park on the side. read more

Interior and Decor: 3 out of 10 I'm used to ugly nail shops but this place was super small and ugly. There are only four chairs for nails and four pedicure chairs. They don't even have a real drying area. It's a mobile dry counter that you pull your chair up to and it's about 12" wide and 12" long so think of how close you are to another client is they're also using it. PLUS the dry station is at the checkout counter (it looks like it is the checkout counter when you're there). It's less than two feet from the microscopic sitting area. On top of the drying station there is a huge plant and a huge stack of magazines needy uncomfortable. I took my chances and left after 4 minutes of drying. There isn't room for anything in this place. You literally bump into anyone that isn't sitting down (no I'm not overweight). There is only one sink to wash your hands so people have to wait in line if someone is using it. No big deal there BUT only having ONE brush available for everyone??? HUGE deal for me. They leave the front door open so you hear everything going on outside. That's always annoying when you're trying to relax. The hair station is two chairs and those chairs are super close together with one of them being super close to a nail tech station. So close you'd get hair on you the back of the chair wasn't high enough to block it. Customer Service and Quality: 5 out of 10 Hear me out. They're nice BUT customer service is also about actions. I HATE when my pedicure is rushed but to add insult to injury they started on my nails less than ten minutes into my pedi. Now that's a great option IF YOU ASK FOR IT. If you are in a rush or if it's close to their closing time I get it. If that isn't the case you're interrupting my pedicure and putting me in an awkward position physically. I have to lean over and move all my crap for you to stand where my things are. AND your typically going to have nail clipping and filings on your clothes. I was wearing black. Fortunately I didn't have anywhere to go afterwards BUT she didn't know that. That's not even the worse part! I'm one of those people with hard skin on my feet :( I exfoliate and scrub them myself. I always wear socks inside BUT it's just generic. NEVER have I had to pay extra for the hard dead skin on my feet to be scrubbed off. When I say never I mean in TEN YEARS at shops all across the country from high spas to low end budget shops like this place. She tried to charge me $5 extra for this skin treatment that causes the dead skin to fall off. I know it sucks to have to scrub as a pedi technician BUT ITS YOUR JOB. Plus mine aren't that bad. It's just the edge of my heal (pretty common issue). Back to the Nails: I HATE being pressured into Gel Nails because it saves YOU TIME and costs me money. If I say I want regular polish that's what I want. Don't ask me five times if I want Gel. It's really convenient for them to do Gel Nails so they love pushing them on clients. Don't offer regular if it's that serious. WHEN I ASK FOR A MANI PEDI WITH FAKE TIPS that's what I want. What happened to my mani??? I said I would pay extra for fake tips yet my mani disappeared. My hands got ZERO treatment. I will never understand why shops make this mistake. If I say I want a pedi and a full set that's not the same as asking for a manicure WITH s full set and s pedicure. I got no service on my hands at all. SMH. It's like you have to wait until their done with your mani service and then tell them you'll pay extra for a full set. The acrylic is thin is natural looking. I love that. Hopefully they aren't too thin so they'll break off easily but time will tell. I'll update if they do. Pricing: 7 out of 10 Okay but they don't accept Amex although there isn't a sign saying so. This was my first time here and I won't be back. I'm new to Cali so I'm still trying out nail shops. read more

Love this place! I drive about 20 minutes just to get my nails done here about every other week. All the ladies are so nice and does a great job. The prices are perfect for cost-conscious people. Looks like they don't accept Groupons anymore but they don't need to because the prices are the same as if they were offering Groupons. Some people complain about having two people work on them (mani and pedi) but I'm fine with that. It just means I'll be out sooner to get going on my day! If I wanted to be truly pampered, I'd go to an actual (expensive) "spa" (which is never ). Recommendations: *Call ahead for an appointment but don't expect to have your appointment start on time. They may be delayed because they are working on a customer and they should because why should they sit around for 15-30 minutes doing nothing and waiting for the next appointment? Time is $. *Parking can be tricky due to the limited amount of parking spaces so be patient and arrive early to find a parking space (I've never had that problem though). read more

My friend and I had a Groupon for a gel manicure here, super good deal. I got holographic color (extra $5) and she got blue. Everything was quick and easy! The only thing was we had an appointment for 2pm and because it was busy we had to wait 10-15 mins before our turn and my friend and I went separately. Other than that, if I had the deal again I'd come back. Especially for that holographic color! Side note, parking lot is small but there's street parking! read more

Dont bother getting the Groupon- a gel manicure is $20, on Groupon they misadvertise it as $32, and then 'discount' it to $19 Other than that, the salon did a great job with my Mani pedi, my nails look beautiful and the pedi is one of the best I've had in a long while read more

Unfortunately, neither of us felt welcomed once they got started. The front desk staff was very friendly, but the technicians were cold, barely spoke, and seemed irritated anytime we made a request. The pedicure itself felt rushed, with very little heel scrubbing -- one heel was barely touched at all. My husband also clearly asked to have his toenails trimmed, and they only cut the nails on one foot before moving on. At that point, he had completely decided he was done and wouldn't be returning here. During my manicure service, felt rushed again and my only request was to slightly reshape one nail, and even that seemed to annoy the technician. It's unfortunate because the salon itself is nice inside - much nicer than the busy nail mill down the street. But at least there, the staff interacts with you and makes you feel like a customer instead of an inconvenience. Sadly, we won't be returning.

I love coming to this nail salon. It's relaxing and the workers always do a good job and want to make sure you leave happy! I usually show some inspo pics and Mandy does a great job to make my nails come out the way I would like. She has explained how different pictures use different techniques, how colors blend to get the look you might like and also that each hand and nail is unique so you can own your own!
