I love this nail salon. Ive been going here regularly for years, even got one of my besties to love it as well. This review is not about the service but the change in design since they've changed ownership. Besides the amazing service, I loved the dark walls, the dark wood, dim lighting asthetic they had going on. I could legit close my eyes and relax. I went in this morning and was blinded by fluorescent lighting, white walls and crystal chandeliers... Why change it? I miss the darkness. I can only speak for myself but most nail salons are too bright and i found solace in Paradise Nails before the change in decoration. I still love this salon but I'm also sad. read more

Last minute decision to go here since I was in the area and wanted to get the tips I had put on for an event (from my regular nail salon). There were 2 women working there and 1 customer getting a pedicure. The older lady came up and asked what service I wanted so I told her that I needed to get my fake nails taken off then just a regular gel manicure. I sat at her station and she came back with a big bowl full of a very potent smelling nail polish remover. She had me put both my hands in the bowl to soak. I sat there for 15 minutes before she took my hand out and started to use an electric file to take some of the nail off, with pieces of the acrylic nail flying on my shirt. She then said you need to soak another 15 min. I could hardly breathe from the fumes and the part of my nails that were soaking in this horrible solution were white as a ghost. She continued this process another 3 times on me. I had now been there an hour and she finally got the acrylic off and had started to file my soft, weak nails into a peculiar shape and asked if I liked it? It was at that moment my NICE had worn off. Just as she was asking me what color I wanted, I said to her "you have no idea what your doing, do you? I told her I have been having my nails done for the last 30 years and I have never seen this done. I told her I was done sitting there and was going to leave. She let the younger lady know in their language and the other lady came over and said I will finish your nails for you. I told her absolutely not. I told her that her shop was awful and that the old lady (probably her mom I guessed) had no idea what she was doing. I was very upset and felt light headed and ill from breathing in all the fumes. I told her my nail salon always removes my gel acrylic nails by soaking a cotton ball, placing it on my nails and wrapping with a small piece of foil. I asked her how much do I owe you? She started to say $10 and I handed her a $20. I said I was going to write a yelp review since I worked there, and she said "NO" don't write a bad review please! She said I won't charge you anything just don't write the review. She handed me my money back and grabbed my hand to hold it and said please don't. I told her she should look into doing things the right way with being a business owner and maybe her mom should be home taking care of some kids or sweeping the floor but not doing nails. I told her to have a good day. I would never recommend this place. I think because of the location maybe they've gotten away with doing nails for the homeless druggies walking the streets of Alhambra. read more

The woman did not even look at the.Reference video they began to do my nails. Just take a look at those pictures and tell me what's wrong. Upon leaving and trying to pay , I was asked for my Id and my credit card. Have any of you ever been asked for your id... at a nail salon. I was very vocal about being uncomfortable by the racial tension created by asking me this, they proceeded to say they asked everybody after I had left.They told my friend the same thing.Then did not ask for her Id at all. These people charge me eighty dollars for this set and instead of allowing me to get my money back for this butchered a** nail job. They proceed to say that the manager is not there.And then offered me redo for a full set the next day.\nInstead of giving me my money back as asked. Do not go here! I was the only one there so I thought they would take their time but that was not the case. Yes they did both my mani and pedi at the same time but the supplies they used were definitely not sanitary. The lady that did my nails seemed sick and I thought they would clean my cuticle but they never did she took my red nail polish off and smeared it all over. Never cleaned it completed and even after tell her she like yes yes. Her supplies were definitely never cleaned. I don't want to give away my favorite go-to nail salon, because it's the ONLY nail salon I use in Sacramento. It's clean, friendly and convenient to midtown and East Sacramento. Jeannine is the best beautician for gel pedicure and acrylic powder for manicures. Summer time wrecks my feet (sand, sandals etc) and Jeannine keep them happy fresh all year. I had a hard time finding the right place. I went to various locations for a couple years before I found Paradise Nails. What I like best is the way they clean my cuticles. All the other saloons use a cutter which doesn't help. Paradise does it the European way, using a nail drive to smooth the dead skin away. As a result my manicures last longer even after weekend housework. Good to know; it's cash only. There is an atm, with a fee. Or there's Safeway next door for cash back. Also come early because parking is tight. But once you find a spot it's a great place to relax. Good for groups, events, wedding parties, mother day, friends night out. read more

Sadly, I was only visiting a friend. Once I made it to Oakland. Third nail chipped. Suggestion ask for three dips. No fault of the shops the two dips were not strong enough. After spending $95 and your nails don't last. Not a good look at all. Continue Tuesday! I lost a nail. I had to file down. Wednesday! Nail chipped! Came here for a manicure and pedicure and the moment I walked in the attitude of the staff was the worst I've ever witnessed in my life. The male staff member was particularly unhappy. If you do not enjoy working with other humans, do something else, you're making your customers extremely uncomfy. I usually go to M Nail Salon, which I love because the staff are so friendly and do a great job. I went to Paradise Nails one time due to my regular salon being closed. I've been getting gel pedicures forever without issues. Paradise Nails somehow caused a longitudinal long crack in the nail of my big toe, which extended halfway down the nail, and I didn't know it until my regular salon removed the gel polish. To add insult to injury, I also had a fungal infection in the crack in the nail. So gross! It will forever to grow out the nail and resolve the infection.
