Visit on 5/18/17: Like this place needs another good review. *snort* Came here for happy hour and dinner. Ordered the burrata, chips with salsa and guacamole, jicama salad, mixed greens salad, three orders of tres leches cake, an iced tea, a sangria, a small tortilla soup, a poblano, and an order of duck mole enchiladas. Oh, and an empanada, which they forgot about, so I can't rate. Yeah, Jenbert and her dad were hungry-- just a little bit. The mixed greens salad had a diverse mix of greens with apples and dried cranberries and didn't require protein to be added for flavor. Burrata cheese: smooth, consistency of fresh mozzarella cheese cubes, and came with a few small toast pieces. Would've been nice to have more bread pieces or less cheese because I ran out of bread well before cheese. Dad enjoyed his jicama salad, tortilla soup and sangria. I tried the sangria: sweet and slightly fizzy, the perfect happy hour drink. At that point, Jenbert was stuffed and had a piece of tres leches cake with the rest to go. The tres leches is made in house and is topped with whipped cream and fresh berries. Perfect way to end the meal. Everything else was ordered to go. Jenbert's dad loved this place when he was living in Turlock, and it's easy to see why. The food is fresh and delicious. Service is superior. Gloria, the owner, knows how to do this business right. Will be filing the lunch I had here away in my "fond food memories bank". It was hard to make a decision looking at the fabulous menu, but I settled on the ground beef taco- the filling had dried cherry, almond, and spices...sounded intriguing, so I wanted it. If you are concerned about your taco tasting like cherry, dont worry, it doesnt. It does, however, have great flavor! I decided to get the jicama salad as my side, and it was bright and refreshing. Perfect on a hot day and eating outside. Mom got the brie and roasted peach quesadilla, and I tried a bite, then was even more sad this place is hours away from where I live. Never disappoints. Hadn't been back since the pandemic hit. Had my fave the "Freida" just the right amount of coffee & hint of sweet cinnamon. I love La Mo Cafe! Such a hidden gem in downtown Turlock! Located in a quaint courtyard, the majority of seating is outdoor, which is perfect in my opinion? The food is so delicious and very fresh. One of my favorites is the tortilla soup. Absolutely amazing! La Mo is super popular so reservations are highly recommended. I took my son here for his birthday for brunch. I was impressed with the ambiance and service. They were really busy but they managed to make sure that we weren't neglected. I got the garden scramble and it was delicious. The birthday boy got the wedding chicken and he loved it. They even threw in a crumble cake for dessert for his birthday which was thoughtful. One of the most trendy spots in downtown Turlock. Almost always filled with people, from young to old. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud, with excellent food and beverages. Somewhat pricey, a small drink can run you around $5, but definitely worth the quality. The inside and outside is aesthetically pleasing and provides lots of photo opportunities. I enjoy coming here on a somewhat regular basis. La Mo is for sure a must-see when visiting downtown Turlock! read more

Drove all the way from the other side of Stockton as this place was recommended to me. Service wasn't too bad until the server had the audacity to tell my friend and I if we could "wrap up our conversation as they have another party of 2 waiting". Never I have experienced this type of service. We had been sitting there for about 2 hours Including the delay with our drinks and food. It is not like we did not contribute to the business as our tab was easily over $50 and left a good tip to the waitress. A big shout out to Brityn and Richard the bartender today. My husband was craving the mulled cranberry margarita that he had tasted when we ate lunch at LaMo a couple of days ago. I called and asked if I could just buy the mix because I knew they had sold it in jars during the holidays. They were all out, however, Brityn offered to mix up a batch for me on the spot. One of the best breakfast places in the valley! We were driving from Fresno to Sacramento along 99, stoped there because of the Yelp reviews. We were NOT disappointed. I ordered the Sourdough French Toast. It was so yum. The fruit was so fresh. Cream was delicious. The french toast was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Latin Benedict. Very flavorful. However, might have been a bit too rich to have it as the main meal for breakfast. My husband said it was good, but would order something different next time. The patio was lovely. Service was very friendly and helpful. They have art displayed and that was a fun plus. Great alcohol and coffee drink selection. Would definitely go again. One quick tip: the cafe part opens at 8am for brunch. read more

Like most people will tell you, this is a nice place in Turlock! I've been here several times and each time it's been different, and not necessarily good different. Their coffee is amazing! Their food is not very consistent. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have ordered the same thing for breakfast the second time and got something that tasted very odd compared to last time I had gotten it, so inconsistent! As for lunch and dinner, they have a good selection of good food. It is somewhat pricy for their portion but I don't mind that considering it's local and their ingredients are fresh. Their hours are really CONFUSING! They seem to change them frequently, which isn't very good! So always call before going but seriously who wants to do that! read more

Cute little unexpected cafe in Turlock (of all places). Came here for breakfast while in town for work and had a breakfast sandwich and a tea. Breakfast sandwich on everything bagel was delicious and pretty big for the price. Chai tea came in a mug w/ a built in steeper *but* pitifully little hot water. Very cute decor and would be a great place to do some work/meet a friend for coffee. Definitely didn't think places like this existed in the valley but it's a great little oasis. read more

So I went to this place thinking it was the same as the restaurant but nope which was no big deal though. Turns out the restaurant was directly behind the cafe so that's good to know. I had a Dulce Macchiato which wasn't too sweet but good enough and warm. Had a Breakfast Bagel that had what looks like ham or turkey, lettuce, tomato, BACON, cheese and on jalapeno bread ( I think). The bagel was better than any breakfast sandwich I had elsewhere which was a major positive to me. The atmosphere of this cafe is like a Starbucks but upgraded to look all classy and fancy. On a Saturday, I wandered in there around lunch time. The place is where it should be, but you can't really see it from the street (I was driving), so I circled several times before I decided just to park and look for it later. Parking was easy to find; I did end up on a side street about a block away. I was greeted immediately by an enthusiastic server, which is always a good beginning. I came alone and sat at one of the small tables right near the bathroom (not a bad thing), so I was able to look out the window and "people watch." A minute after I sat down, I was asked what I wanted to drink. I got an iced tea, and soon after I ordered. I asked for a description of the beef picadillo, and my server knew how it was made and what was in the dish. During the entire time, I was helped by several different people, which is great because you don't have to worry so much about asking for things from the right waiter or bus boy. I'd look up and there was always someone available to quickly get me a refill, get the bill, etc. The food tasted very good and the dish was presented well. I'm trying not to eat so much salty foods, and my dish fit the bill. The beef had the flavor, but the black beans didn't, so it was the perfect pairing. I got the feeling that the food was very fresh, and I didn't feel sick (too oily) afterwards. I would definitely return and would recommend this place to others. It's a great place to sit and catch up with old friends or in my case to relax and read a couple chapters of my book. read more

This is for the coffee shop not the restaurant! Coffee and asthetic are pretty good. Barista staff is not the friendliest which is too bad because I love what LaMo has to offer as far as food and atmosphere. I'm happy to order a coffee drink while dining in because I don't have to interact with cafe staff but I've decided to take my coffee business down the street to Cafe Rome if I'm just stopping for a drink. LaMo's coffee drinks are just a bit too sweet, too expensive and unfortunately the "I'm better than you" barista attitude is pervasive among the cafe staff. read more
