Best ice cream hands down. And at very reasonable prices. I love all the flavors and the bars are just amazing. One day a week they have special pricing on the bars and we'd get like a dozen and save them for the week. Just watch your sugar intake cause this place can really be a slippery slope. read more

~MANGONADAS REVIEW ONLY~ I stopped by for a quick snack since I was craving a mangonada and wanted to check out La Michoacana since this location just opened up! The location has plenty of seating indoors to enjoy your treat but most people probably take it to go since it won't be able to accommodate a large group. Mangonadas usually have a mix of mangos, chamoy, tajin, and a tamarind stick candy. La Michoacana also includes a splash of lime as well which gives it an extra tangy flavor. Since La Michoacana already makes the ice cream in house, they offer a variety of flavors including: mango, pineapple, cucumber, strawberry, lemon, tamarind, soursop, or guava. I decided to stick with the traditional mango flavor. The mango ice cream was sweet but not too sweet since it brought out the natural sweetness. The combination with chamoy and tajin made it extra tasty to enjoy especially on a hot day! I'll definitely come back to try their ice cream flavors and other mangonada options. You know you're in the right place when you see flavors that are completely foreign and pictures of fruits you can't identify. This was our first time here and we decided to "play it safe". We tried the tamarind, guanabana, and mangonada. All three were very quite delicious. We especially enjoyed the mangonada. It was made with the mango sorbet. It spice level was very mild. Not sure if we could have asked for spicier but the flavor was fantastic nevertheless. A note of caution though - the 'large' was ginormous! With so many flavors of ice cream to choose from and with many unfamiliar ones, it took us a while to decide. The staff there were super polite and explained a few things. I also saw they have agua fresca, though we didn't get any. Definitely gonna make this a regular part of my week. read more

I went here last week, just had the time to sit down and give a review don't get me wrong the ice cream yummy, the kids enjoyed there snacks also but the attitude you get is beyond me. How can you charge so much money for a treat and yet have such bad customer service, this girl was rolling her eyes and acting as if we were bothering her. It took about 10-20 minutes to complete...but boy was it worth it. So fresh and healthy!! Mango & chilli paleta- like a watered down magoneadas on a stick but still good. Cumucmber and chilli paleta- compared to mango & chilli, this one is okay. Strawberry and Cream paleta- if you like milk paleta...this is a must try!!! Bubble gum paleta-my kids liked it..but then again they like anything with sugar. Want something to wow yourself or your friends..... Sandia Loco-Crazy Watermelon: Holy Smokes, watermelon and jicama cut up and put back into the half of a watermelon then drizzled with chamoy sauce, Tajin, Japon Nuts, Mexican sour punch straws, caramel(?) spoons, tamarind straws & sprinkled with tiny tamarind candy...I think I got most of it. Only $15?! Where have you been all of my life?!?! A great item to bring to a party. It took 4 grown adults and 2 kids to finish it after dinner. If you want it for take out and plan on eating later, ask them to put the chamoy in a separate container or everything will be marinating in it. Have only tried the ice cream and it was delicious! I love passion fruit flavored anything but it isn't very easy to find. They have passion fruit ice cream and paletas! I'm in heaven! This is definitely my favorite Michoacana. Now, even though these Mexican ice cream places are all over the city, do not mistake that this is a franchise or related to each other. Michoacana refers to a place to Mexico where they are famous for ice cream. I get the same thing every time one scoop of queso ice cream with fresh strawberries on top for about three dollars and something change. Queso is cheese ice cream. You can only get it at Michoacana ice cream stores. You cannot get this flavor have a grocery store either. I love ice cream and I get a big kick out of ice cream that is a novelty flavor, but I usually get tired of it. Not with queso ice cream. It has become a staple for me in my dessert world. This ice cream bar is located in la bodega market so it's super convenient to go there and get the best tamale in the world at the same time, the only downside is that you have to pay for it separately.
