La mesa has terrible customer service from the service department my dad just bought an gulf stream from thier and it a had brake light problems, the air horn didn't work, and a couple other small things. The only thing that they refused to admit they didn't fix was the brake lights. They said that there wasn't anything wrong but when you apply a simple tap of the brake the lights should come on right? Not according to la mesa rv they said that you need to push hard to even apply the brakes yet the brakes are already applied when you barley tap them. They said that the lights and brake are supposed to come on when you push very hard on them, but in fact the lights are supposed to come on before your brakes do. They constantly tried to jip my dad out of his money by making him pay for repairs that they don't fix. My advice do not go here for any repairs or warranties my dad has to pay 100$ for warranty because it's a third party. read more

Do NOT make a purchase from La Mesa in Davis. As I write this we are still waiting to get our trailer back...day 22. We bought our travel trailer here because we wanted a Winnebago. That was the easy part. The service department is very unprofessional. No one returns our calls or provides updates as to the status of our trailer. Our Minnie Winnie is in for a few minor warranty repairs. Due to this delay, our travel plans have been delayed. I could go on and on. I do see many poor reviews for this company. We are Camp Fire survivors from Paradise, CA. We lost our home, husband's business on 11/8/18. We purchased a 2019 30' Winnebago Minnie Plus from La Mesa RV Center taking delivery on Dec. 11, 2018. On May 15, 2019 the roof nearly collapsed due to water retention through the rainy season with water dripping at a fast pace from the main slide ceiling trim. Water also beaded at the kitchen slide and carpeting at the bed headboard also was wet. We delivered the unit to La Mesa RV Center repair center on May 17 - an hour and a half drive from where we were staying. We still do not have a target date of completion. I am a disabled senior and have been sleeping on an air mattress at a friend's home, husband also with disabilities sleeping on a foam mattress. After 3 months we have worn out our welcome waiting for return of our home. We are living out of our car - staying at friend's homes or hotels where we can find a pet friendly one. We had initially been told it would be repaired in 3 weeks. It has been over 3 months. We have been searching to purchase a home to no avail in our price range. We have asked manufacturer for a full refund (we paid for the unit cash). We asked dealership for a replacement unit and sales manager laughed at me when I explained our situation as I did above) and said he couldn't do that but he'd sell me another one. We have had professional friendly service since our purchase and although everyone has been exceptional, no one has come close to the care we received from Tara in the service department. Disappointed customer During a vacation our frame on our trailer broke. Being very confident because our trailer was still on warranty and extended warranty or only 6 months old we took it to the nearest RV repair place which was in Spokane WA. Repairs were paid for by the frame makers. Two representatives from La Mesa RV promised to repay our travel expenses and would get back to us. After given them two months to reply, we've heard nothing back from either representative. We've had many defects with our Heartland trailer. My husband prefers to to the repairs so our trailer is not in the shop for a long period. Today our water tank came out of the frame. read more

I don't see where all this is coming from great company treat their customers correct with respect try to have fun. They sell a lot of units so sometimes it takes multiple weeks to get them to a customer and even when buying a Rolls-Royce some things go wrong. Their machines and have a tendency to fail your car breaks down you have to get it fixed sometimes even RVs breakdown big surprise we can only do the best we can the management is very courteous and very professional especially in Davis California. If any of these people were to call the management they would have no problem getting their concerns handled once again they are a great company! Good people working there. read more

UPDATE (05/03/18): We bought our RV a year ago, and we totally regret buying from La Mesa RV. We loved our salesman (see below), but we've had nothing but trouble with the service team: broken promises, poor craftsmanship, and a general lack of concern. Literally one week out the door, we called to ask a simple question about the battery and we were told to "go on YouTube" and see for yourself. We were promised things would be replaced, then told, sorry we can't replace it now. We've had replaced flooring done so poorly, we'd rather have the massive scratches from malfunctioning parts. We had globs of glue left, new scratches and dents made, a broken side mirror, and so much more. We invested in an $180,000 rolling house and we expected much more care and follow through. We're so disappointed and now we're stuck in an 8-year relationship with the extended warranty we already purchased. I made an appointment weeks in advance. They were well aware at the time of the appointment what kind of RV I had. They were well aware when I brought my RV in what I had and yet after having my RV for 5 days they suddenly realize they have the wrong parts. If I hadn't called to check on it they wouldn't have even have told me. They promised the RV would be ready in a week as we had a trip planned. WORST dealership ever!!! My husband and I bought a GENTLY used ( only 1700 miles) American Coach by Fleetwood July 2016. We immediately had several issues with it, including a roof leak. While it was at LaMesa, they wrecked it! The coach had to be taken back to the manufacturer to replace the roof. In the almost 17 months of ownership, we've actually had in our possession for 6 weeks!!!!! It's been back at LaMesa for 2 months now for slide issues. Every time they call and tell us it's ready for pick up, we make the 5 hour round trip drive only to come home empty handed again! We've made at least 14 trips there in the last year and only brought the coach home once, and then had to turn around and drive it right back. Made a special trip to Sac today to go to the La Mesa RV Show. Worked with an awesome guy named Steve that put quite a bit of effort into us, showing us over 20 different units in some pretty intense heat. Made an offer to get the process started and then a sales manager named Dave Moreland came out to tell me that the price is what it is and I need to just pay that price. He said there is no negotiation and there must be something wrong with me if I didn't see the value, and made a derogatory comment to my 8 year old daughter about me as we walked out he door. I really liked the salesman, and was looking forward to the negotiation. Truth be told, we were willing to pay full price to get the rig we wanted until the 'Manager" managed to lose the sale for the hard working salesman. My advice to Steve would be to get a job somewhere else and tell that Manager that he needs to treat your customers better. I still think Yelp needs a "Zero Stars" option. Copy of letter sent to Corporate Office re: Recent service experience April 11, 2016 To whom it may concern, I would like to take the time, here, to express my extreme appreciation to the La Mesa RV, Davis service staff. My wife and I purchased a new 2016 Winnebago Vista LX 35F a few weeks ago. Our sales experience was very pleasant, but that is another story. After our first "shake-down" cruise to Yosemite NP, I brought the motorhome in without a service appointment because one of the black tanks would not dump. I anticipated resistance from the service department because I did not have an appointment. But Jim, the shop foreman, dropped everything he was doing, on a very busy day, and took the time to take my coach to the dump station and was able to empty the tank with a smile. I'm sure he thought I was some greenhorn, but I insisted that I was a RV veteran, telling him that we had traded in our class-C for this new class-A rig, and that these systems are simple technology. For the life of me I could not figure out what I had done wrong. I did exactly the same thing that Jim had done. Oh well, chalk it up to experience. I thanked Jim and went on my way. The following week, our motorhome saw the NASCAR race at Sonoma and, in the end, I encountered the same problem. The 2nd black tank would not dump. Now, mind you, I am not senile. In fact, I'm a young (55 y.o.) high school math teacher. We're supposed to be the smartest guys in the room, right? (not). So this time, I shot a video, with my phone, of my process. I sent it to Jim and he said it looked like I was doing everything right: The tank had liquid in it, I had opened the knife-valve on the passenger side, opened the knife-valve on the driver side, and engaged the macerator pump; not a trickle. What the heck? Although the schedulers, on the phone, had done their jobs by telling me that the soonest I could have an appointment was two months from now, Jim told me to bring it in Monday morning and they would "see what could be done". That was this morning. When I arrived, my service writer, Matt greeted me with a smile, and I explained my problem. He and I took the rig to the dump station and hooked it all up, pulled all the handles, pushed the button, and... nothing. Ok, I admit it. I was elated that this whole thing was not my early onset of Alzheimer's. But now I clearly have a mechanical problem with a big summer trip to Canada on the horizon for next week. The next two hours had Matt and technician Alex working diligently to diagnose the problem. And after pulling the pump out, disassembling half of the backside plumbing, and taking some black water in the face, the problem was solved. The source of the problem was clearly a manufacturing error. The culprit of the clog was all of the debris from drilling the tank holes, including the "hole" itself, which had fallen inside the tank when drilled with a hole-saw. During all of this time, Matt, Alex, Jim, and manager Aaron, whom I thanked personally, represented your organization with professionalism and a sincere desire to, not just solve a problem and do a job, but help me in a time of need. The element of human kindness that was shown by all of the service staff, can only be a direct result of fostering a relationship within and throughout the company as a whole and hiring and nurturing good employees. In conclusion, I owe your people a debt of gratitude. If I can ever be an advocate for your business, please call on me. I plan to send my thoughts to Yelp, of course, but it will just be one of many reviews there. So, I sincerely hope that this letter finds its way to those people who direct the company, and that they will take it as a compliment to themselves personally. This place profiles their customers. We showed up in our 10 year old minivan, parked right in front of the showroom, we go in and everyone completely ignores us. I finally find a guy in an office and ask if we can see some RV's, he looks us up and down and says and says in this gypsy voice "We have nothing for you to see here" This is a service only lot. I'm like okay, then why do you have RV's displayed for sale all over the lot with prices listed on the windshield. This guy reminds me of one of the creepy finance managers in a car dealership. I say never mind and we leave and go down the street to American River RV where they are SUPER nice and show us several RV's that we are interested in and possibly purchase. Waits are one to two months while we pay for storage for the RV and cancel scheduled trips. This time the refrigerator went out while in New Mexico, beautiful primitive site. What a way to END a trip and add Stress to trying to save food just purchased. Nothing that Lamesa can do for us....typical. Do I call La Mesa in Albuquerque and drive back there, spending all that money on gasoline ! Do I REGRET this purchase ? Yes, I sure do, BIG MISTAKE ! Found out that La Mesa RV was my RV's local dealer and was thrilled since they are centrally located. We had one excellent service experience with some warranty work but had an on going problem with one item that didn't get correctly adjusted under warranty. We read good things about the service department but were given the run around for a fix to this ongoing problem. No one took responsibility for fix some work that had been done incorrectly the first time. I suspect that the tech doing the work was not up to the task. Our service rep was very friendly but kept telling us different stories as to why the problem with our RV kept reoccurring. I will be going elsewhere for most service. read more

I need to post this. I saw an advertisement on TV that La Mesa was doing a large RV show at the old Sleep Train arena. We decided to drive there and check it out. We have been shopping for a new RV for quite a while and we had visited La Mesa several times and got an idea of RV prices. After several trips there over a 6 month period, they did not have a floor plan that we liked. As we got to Sacramento, we knew where the Sleep Train arena was, so we turned down one of the streets that leads to the arena. We (Along with about a dozen other cars) were driving around and couldn't find the sale. I stopped and called La Mesa and asked for directions or where the RV show was. I was put on hold for 5 minutes, then someone told me where it was. I explained that we did not see any signs or directions. Finally after a few other turns, we found 2 signs, very hard to see signs. We walked around for a few hours and had the sales people following us around like fleas on a dog!! How annoying!! Can't we just look?? If we have questions, we will come get you. What a shocker!! The prices had gone up tremendously!! Oh, but wait, we have them on sale!!! Hike the price 20% then give us a 10% discount!! What a rip off!! RV's that we saw on their lot were around $28,000.00, but at the show they were marked to $36,995.00, and on sale today for $31,995.00 !! WTH is that all about? Now here is the worst part. I never gave my name or phone number to anyone, but now I am getting a phone call a week asking when I am coming in to buy and RV. (All I can figure is that they did a caller I.D. on my phone call to them.) Finally after 6 weeks I didn't answer my phone, they just hung up. I purchased an RV and realized that there were many issues and problems after I brought it home. I took it back to get it fixed and my vehicle stayed there for three months for "fixing". When I got it back, the air conditioner wasn't working and they told me that it was completely normal when I brought it up. It has been four months since my purchase and there are still many problems that haven't been solved. Once you purchase the vehicle, they don't care or help you anymore. I purchased a five year warranty along with my vehicle but turns out that there's no point of that if nothing is ever going to get fixed. They discriminate against those who do not speak English well. Making this purchase at La Mesa is the worst decision and my biggest regret in life. read more

Parts Dept.... So disheartening to say they failed to meet minimum customer service expectations. I had really held out and tried to believe in the idea they would get it together and pull it off. I called on Monday to get a replacement window for my rig that I bought FROM THEM. After providing a Vin number, make and model ( you would think they would have my information on file since I bought the trailer from them and had my rig serviced with them a few times), dimensions of the window, it's now day 4 and I still haven't heard if they can get me a new one ordered. I'm a paying customer. Not doing an insurance claim or warranty claim. WTF?! A typical day involves multiple emails and multiple phone calls to the parts department just to be completely blown off. If this was an automobile I'd have the dang window installed the same day!! Now the rain's back and I have no window. Epic failure in customer service. Shame on you guys. I'm over it. Let me start by saying that the Sales team at La Mesa RV is wonderful. If you are going to buy find Les. He was so helpful and no pressure! Now the bad news. The service department is horrible! We bought a brand new coach and it has been in the shop at La Mesa three times. It is not the service department's fault that our Fleetwood Discovery has problems but we are less than satisfied with repairs. We had an electrical fire in our RV and the electric side of the hot water heater does not work. We explained there was a straight up fire and the source of the fire needed to be found. The mechanic simply turned the electric side of the heater on and found hot water. Imagine that! We live in our RV so the water was hot from us heating it with propane. Fleetwood told the mechanic to access the water heater from the master bath. They removed the panel and were unable to see the source of the fire. The water heater needed to be pulled out completely to find the melted wires. The mechanic then said everything was fine. Long story short our water heater still does not work on power. To top it off they let our batteries run down and thawed all our food in the refrigerator out! We had to throw about 200 dollars worth of food out. I don't blame the service manager but do blame the lazy mechanic who worked on our rig. Go somewhere else for service! read more

This place is the worst RV costumer service and needs help. They left multiple things on like the gas stove they set off our carbon dioxide detector. They did not clean off our battery so it did not run so we had to rush to an RV show to fix it. These people have no idea what Customer service is. Bought a new Motor home Jan.2020. They took until March to get warranty items done with us having to nag at them to find out what was being done. Made one trip and had to take it back, As some of the original items were not repaired. Also had several other items that needed to be done. One was the bed was deflating.They have had it this time for two and a half months and no communication unless I call and nag them. I called today and they told me to pick it up. They also said that the bed is still not repaired. Have no idea when they will get the part. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I give one star as that is the lowest you can give. There are two sides I will comment on, sales and service. We bought a travel trailer at a show at Cal Expo. The salesman was great to work with. We purchased the extended warranty for a negotiated price of $1999 from the original asking price of $2999. We got a great deal and was 5 star satisfied from the purchase process. The service center on the other hand is where my problems began. I had my coach in for repairs. When I picked it up, I noticed the metal pull handle welds of my exterior steps was broke and bar was sticking out to the side. I said it must have been hit with a forklift or something to break that weld. The employee was apologetic and suggested I leave it for be repaired. I just drove an hour to get there. I said no, I want it repaired the next time I come in for service. He said that would be fine. He took evidence photos with his phone and said he will put this in my file so I can have it fixed at the next service. The next time I sent my trailer for service, they said they had no record of any damage being done by them. There are no note or photos in my file. I had no proof. I just want the bar tacked back on and spray the welds with a primer. They refused to fix it for free. They said I would have to pay shop rate to have it done. I told the service rep "I'm not coming back. You just lost a customer over this. This probably doesn't effect you (business) does it?" He responded, "NO, it won't affect us at all." Then he turned around and walked away. And that fellow yelpers, is how La Mesa RV in Davis views and treats their customers. read more

I do not know where to start, But I cannot express how amazing Marc Neithercutt, Kevin Dunn and Tiny Ford are . Not only are they extremely professional and hard working but they are simply magicians. I had purchased a 34ft keystone and it needed to be delivered, as well as fit into not only a difficult but a tiny space. Well Marc came and assessed the property and said he could do it, not only did he make good on getting it into the extremely tight area, but he went above and beyond the call of duty! Kevin Dunn is amazing at what he does, I am simply in shock at his precise skills and patience that it took to do the job that he did today not to mention he made it look easy! Bought our Mercedes/Winnebago Era from La Mesa 3 years ago, and have really enjoyed it on our trips. We bring it in every year for an annual check up prior to hitting the road. The first two years went really well, but this year we had some issues with sloppy work and a mess that was left. I was pretty upset and did not feel my issues were being addressed by the service rep, so I asked to speak to the Service Manager. Aaron Bonillo, the Service Manager was great. He listened to the issues and seemed genuinely concerned, and made sure that the issues were addressed. I probably would have rated this service as two stars for the initial work, but rate it as five stars because although it would be better to have everything perfect when we came to pick our RV up, I would rather go to a place that makes a mistake and then does above and beyond to make it right, then to go to a place with poor work, and an attitude that they could care less. Shopping for an RV is it's own beast. We purchased a used trailer from Craigslist that was great, but we out grew it. We sold our baby and were on a hunt for a brand new travel trailer. We had an idea of what we wanted, staying within a length range. Although what we were looking for essentially had the same layout no matter what make and model, there were subtle differences that would make or break a deal. We toyed between fiberglass versus aluminum siding, the storage space, the feeling of how well made, the colors of wood, etc. We were planning to make what we got last for a long time. In the early stages we met with a female sales person who pretty much did not understand or completely refused to understand we were looking not set to buy yet. She also underminded my husband's knowledge and experience of pulling a trailer because we were looking at a slightly heavier one (aluminum siding). We advised her we would come at a later date. We liked two at La Mesa but kept going back and forth. My husband went solo to check out something on one of our top picks and met with a sales man he liked and said was helpful. He made him feel comfortable with our pick despite some of the lack of "new" features. We went down again together, ready to buy a particular trailer and this same man my husband liked proceeded to show us our second pick calling the trailer we went to see and buy "cheap" and for X amount more you can get this.... This left us feeling undecided and confused. The one liners said by this sales man that made me realize I was not buying anything at La Mesa and would start our hunt all over were: 1) "It is not like you will have a trailer more than 5 years before you get a new one." No Sir, I am looking for something that will get us 10-15 years like our last trailer which was 22 years old and perfect just we grew out of. 2) "It is not that hard of a decision, it is not like it is a car." Unfortunately you sell travel trailers so sorry. and the final... asking about a third option that they sell but was not on the lot at the time.. we were told that it was "out of our price range." Excuse me, how do you know my price range? I have a length range only and perhaps that is why you think I have a price range? I am not an idiot and know that each thousand inceases your payment minimally so if it is the right trailer I will pay more. Too bad you took too much time undermining mine and my husbands knowledge, wants, and needs La Mesa. We found everything we wanted a few miles away with great service. 3/22 Made appt almost three weeks ago to have a tow bar installed onto our TOAD. Dropped it off, along with the RV last Friday, with the understanding we would need it by early Friday morning as we we were leaving on our vacation. Alyssa told us there was an outside chance it could be ready as early as today. We called early today to see how things were progressing. Of course we don't get a call back to nearly the end of the business day, only for Alyssa to tell us the wrong parts were ordered, and we may not be able to take back possession on Friday as agreed upon. Of course this was troubling to us since our vacation that we leave on this Friday is prepaid, and we were reassured it would be good to go first thing this Friday. To our astonishemnt, Alyssa then states " Well, if you want you can just come right now and pick it back up." There was absolutely no resemblance of customer service. I was irritated beyond belief. I then asked to be forwarded to her manager Aaron, who was just as blasé about the whole issue as she was. I was beyond irritated at the attitude. I asked Aaron if he had a chance to look at the reviews on here, because I'm quickly beginning to realize why they are so bad. He said he had. I asked him then what in the hell are you doing to improve yourselves, because the way you've handled this has been piss poor ( yup, I was PO'd!). So, we have no guarantee that it will be done by Friday morning as agreed upon, nor Friday at all. I can understand we all make mistakes, but it is the attitude that comes off these people. Absolutely no idea what customer service means. This experience has been awful. I don't see how they stay in business. And it isn't just Yelp reviews ( at times I've taken Yelp reviews with a grain of salt). Their reviews on Better Business Bureau is just as troubling. In fact, they're downright horrid. ***Update*** 1/23/2019 Three months later for a TOTAL of SIX MONTHS PAST when my trailer was SUPPOSED to be fixed and I FINALLY have one of the issues fixed. Another one (my awning) is STILL not resolved to my satisfaction. also I found out my original service advisor was fired for not properly doing his job and these people refuse to compensate me anything for all the issues they caused!!! Nor do they obviously care that they have a negative yelp review!! This place is trying my patience...I bought a brand new trailer from them almost a year ago and it's been in 3/4 times for warranty work. Most recently they replaced an awning due to warranty issues with the lights on it and come to find out they damaged the brand new awning they just replaced!!! I had my trailer in back in August and was told a part was on order and not received in time..I just called to confirm my appt for tomorrow and was told the part they "were waiting for" never was even ordered as I was told it was! They still need to look at my awning they damaged but I'm not towing my trailer back and forth until they can do everything at once...this is nuts! Earlier this year they had my trailer for almost 4 weeks "waiting for parts and such" I have no choice but to wait for them ***update*** It's a WHOLE MONTH later and NOTHING has been resolved!!! Called to get my 2006 Tiffan Allegro Bus in for problems with the Hydra Hot system. Left message on service voice-mail was never called back? Because they are the only certified service center to work on the Hydra Hot system near Vacaville CA and Tiffan told me that is who they recommend I called again 24 hours after leaving my first message and received their voice-mail again? After not being called back I tried one more time and was successful reaching the service department only to be told they don't work on coaches that old????? read more

We purchase a New 2016 Winnebgo Aspect from La Mesa RV in AZ. We brought it to Davis for warranty repairs. The RV had the damage when we purchase it. LaMesa promised to fix all of them. The Managers are the rudest people we have ever dealt with. We have been told many times to bad, that's part of owing an RV! Our RV had damages to the driver side roof (two dents). This was approximately 1 foot long. With in 7 months the roof line started to pull apart and crack. LaMesa RV said they only give a 90 warranty. Now we are told we have to take it to Junction City, Or. This is 600 miles away from us. Never buy anything from LaMesa RV! read more

We went to the West Sacramento location (looks like people are putting reviews here for that location as well, as that location's yelp page isn't very established yet) just to look around. We have been toying with the idea of getting a trailer. We have a budget, and know that this is something we WANT, not something we NEED, so we're keeping that in mind and not willing to bend on our budget to put ourselves in any kind of debt over a 'toy.' We walked around with a salesman, told him our budget, and were still shown trailers that were over that. This is pretty normal behavior, from what we've experienced at places like this before, so I didn't think much of it. When we asked how flexible the prices were, we were told many times "The price is the price." Okay, so these trailers we're looking at are all over our budget... Good to know. When we get back inside, and it was just the salesman and I, one-on-one, i got told "make me an offer." I said "But I thought 'the price was the price?" To which he replied "I'm told to say that... But make me an offer and we'll see what I can do." When I told my husband this, he was a little irritated, understandably, because "the price is the price" had just been drilled into our brains. But okay- here's our offer. When we told the salesman our offer, he told us "Okay! That sounds great. That sounds like something we can do! No problem." So we start the credit application process and all the hoopla, and he starts to fill out his presentation form to give to his finance guy. When he gets to the portion of what we want- he says "so.... Payment wise. We can go $30-$40 over what you told me, and that's okay, right?" Uh. No. My reply was calm, and simple, but firm. "We're not going over the payment we told you. This is something we WANT, not something we NEED. So if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. But we're not spending more money to make it work." To which he replied "There's no need to be RUDE about it!" I was floored!! I told him "I don't think i'm being rude, I think I'm being REAL." I wasn't there to waste anyone's time like it seemed he was. If it wasn't going to work out, then tell us that! Don't give us this crazy run around and tell me I'm being RUDE for not wanting to give you more of MY money so you get your sale. Throughout the rest of our time there, he had also told me he was 'scared of me,' told my husband he was 'scared of me,' told my in-laws he was 'scared of me' (to which they replied 'you should be!' because at this point- I was pretty pissed, though I was still calm. I'm not the type to flip out on someone.) and he also asked me "how many bottles of water do I have to give you before you're nice to me?!" To which I replied "uh... I have yet to be mean to you." I have never in my life been told I was scary, or "mean and rude" for simply telling someone what I was willing to pay for something. And this is no sales tactic I've ever seen used before, thankfully, because let me tell ya... It doesn't work. We left, clearly unhappily, after the finance guy came over and told us our options- which were no where near what we'd told the salesman we wanted. The manager called my husband the next day. He wasn't in the store the day we were, so my husband explained all that had happened, and the manager apologized and said that he was definitely going to have to have to call me to apologize as well.... Guess who's phone hasn't rang? Needless to say, we don't recommend this place. Sorry I frightened you so bad, Maui. I'm really a pretty nice person. :) read more
