I purchased a 2016 Travato from La Mesa with 5K miles on it and paid an add'l 5K for the RV extended warranty. My first report of issues was about an year and a half ago and a week after the repair, it broke in exactly the same spot (a very costly refrigerator door). I came up with a hokey way of making it work rather then submitting another claim because I simply could not wait so long for a repair. From my last report of issues with my class B to partial completion of the issues took over a year. Most of my issues were denied by the warranty company which I realize may not be their issue but this one is... a leak where water seeps right into my electrical outlet and the service team was not able to replicate it and refused to complete tests until they found it. I will wait for it to rain and film it but certainly do not want to wait another year for it to be fixed. When I came in for the approved repairs I was not asked for my keys and as such figured all repairs were going to be done as it sat since none required the keys and I left everything open. Rather then going to their lounge area, I walked to Cindy's down the road for breakfast since I knew it would take at least an hour or two. After I got there, my service manager called and said that they needed my keys! OK so I should have known but I asked if someone could just drive on down to pick them up and he said "no, we don't do that". Unbelievably bad customer service. As a former client relations director I would have done that personally for any client. Not wanting it to cost me another hour or more of my day, I left before my breakfast was served and walked the 15 or so minutes back and waited it out in the lounge. After repairs were done, nothing was explained to me and it was not tested in front of me. It does seem to work however. It also seems crazy to me that they are expanding the service area in Davis rather than in West Sac. So few people live in Davis as compared to the customer base in Sac. It is beyond inconvenient to wait months for my service inspection appointment, drive out to the island of Davis, leave my rig for service inspection, Uber back home and then Uber back to pick it up a couple days later, have most of my claims denied, and then wait another couple/few months for the actual service appointment and do it all over again. It's ridiculous. It's a good thing I love my Travato 59G. read more

La Mesa has proven to be the largest headache I have ever dealt with. They had given us nothing but the run around, and the management (specifically General Manager David Cameron) has continued to be the most incompetent and least trustworthy I have had to deal with. David Cameron continues to be difficult to reach and to sort our problems out. After driving our new Entegra Launch home, we quickly realized the solar (both chassis and house batteries) was not charging, and that the fridge didn't start cooling off like they said it would. Mind you this is after the Pre-Delivery Inspection, which several employees assured me the whole van had been thoroughly checked, which was obviously not true as components were not working when we brought it home. There were a couple dozen other small issues I noticed in the next couple weeks, which we were trying to troubleshoot our fridge and solar in the mean time. We drop the van off June 17th, fast forward to today (August 5th!!!) and the service center now wants us to pick our van up... with the fridge still not working and the chassis battery solar charger not working. We had actually received a call the week of July 25th that ALL of our solar was working, and the issues with the chassis/house batteries charging was related... which was not correct. They want to make money, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS. read more

This is a review of the SERVICE department. We had an emergency repair on our 2018 Allegro Bus, which happens to be our home. The DEF sensor went out while on a trip through California. While Tiffin was helpful in overnighting the part at no charge, La Mesa was anything but that. They told us their earliest appointment for the repair would be mid-September. They gave me a date, but who remembers, it was absolutely ridiculous. Over a month wait! Fortunately, we found Diesel King's Truck Repair on the east side of Sacramento, and Mel got us in immediately and made the repair within 4 hours. We found his prices to be more than reasonable too (especially for Sacramento.) Why would anyone purchase anything from La Mesa if it can't be serviced/repaired in a more reasonable amount of time?? read more

This is a review for Mike Benge at service for La Mesa RV. He has been our service advisor and now a friend of the family. He greets our dogs as if they're his own and he remembers details of our lives. That's important to us to know we're just not a number. He is always accommodating when scheduling our appointments. We've been late and he's waited for us. He often will squeeze us in when the regular scheduler says he's booked weeks out. He really goes out of his way to make sure everything is done to our satisfaction and more. He's very detailed oriented and makes sure everything is easy for us. He even helps us fix nit picky items like loose hinges and squeaky doors. One time he offered to send a part to us rather than have us travel 100 miles to get a part repaired at the shop. Another time he helped us update the software for our navigation system remotely. This saves us time and money. Currently it can take months to get an appointment for service. We're grateful we have Mike on our side so we can enjoy our RV. read more

Called La Mesa in Davis to ask if they do chassis work. Got the answer, yes we do. House work too? Absolutely. Ok great, so I can get my RV running again as well as fix the shower? Yes we can do that. Ok perfect, see you in 30 minutes. Arrived with the tow truck 30 minutes later and had them drop my RV in their lot just as they were leaving. No one could answer any questions - they said call in the morning. I left a message. The next morning I get a call from them telling me that whoever I talked to didn't know what they were talking about and they don't do chassis work. Also the RV is in their way so if I don't get another tow truck to come move it immediately they're going to use a forklift to dump it in the street. I guess that's fair. In their defense I probably should have known better than to trust the person that answered their phone when I called the previous day and told me that they absolutely could get my RV running again. And I guess it's reasonable after telling me to bring it down to call me the next morning with threats. read more

We had significant water damage to our 2004 coach floor that included having to replace not only part of the subfloor under a slide but all of the laminate as well. The service rep, Tara, was very good to work with. She diligently kept us informed. I especially appreciate her giving us conservative estimates for both time and cost and coming in significantly under those. As far as the work goes, it was obvious that both Jeff, the technician, and Tara were serious about doing a good job. In an industry where quality service is exceptionally hard to find my wife and I are grateful to have a place like this to count on. read more

I would not recommend going here. It takes a 5 days and a phone just to get them to start looking at your coach. It cost us over $700 just for them to diagnose any problem or could say it cost $700 for a car wash. Deann talks a good talk when you drop your coach off but she doesn't walk the walk. La Mesa RV sales and service puts profit above customers. Once they get your money in their pocket they could care less about you. We were told they had inspected our 2022 Revel prior to our scheduled pickup. But When we picked it up there were problems with the parts Winnebago build out. Trying to get repairs done at La Mesa service Davis is a joke. They schedule you months out and then your appointment turns out to only place you in their queue. They have a policy that they have 72 hours before they have to look at your RV. They must get bonuses for good reviews. Tara practically begged us to give her a 10. She cares more for her score than she does the customer. Do yourself a favor and look at their complaints in the BBB. Jay Castro responds to all of them. A lot of very unhappy people. read more

Service Depart kind of kills the excitement! Bought a beautiful Coach; but it had a bad jack that needed a part (along with a list of small things). Part came in; but it would be about 6 weeks to get it installed. So much for the Christmas camping trip. They don't communicate well. It's next to impossible to get a "live" person when you call. I've left messages. They called once; but when I called back and emailed, no response. So glad I didn't purchase the extended warranty. Bottom line: Expect a good deal but don't be too disappointed when the service is slower than expected. read more

Beware of this place. We purchased a 5th wheel from them and during delivery of it their friendly staff was helping us hitch up. Well during the tug test the staff had us high hitched and the 5er was not chocked up. Needless to say the 5th wheel rolled backwards damaging our tailgate and it was ...you guessed it my fault. When I called the less than helpful staff at their corporate office I was hung up on. I sure hope they learn to use wheel chocks and operate equipment better for the next person. Like the other la mesa's I wanted to rate them higher. Our family was looking for an RV and know that they have a great selection but the minute you walk in you are attacked by a sales rep. He was nice but mentioned we just wanted to browse but would not let us roam freely. For that reason alone I didn't return. too bad, they have great selection. read more

Priscilla walked me through troubleshooting, then when the slide wouldn't be brought back in no matter what we tried they dispatched Vince, the best Mobile tech ever! I bought my motorhome from La Mesa RV on June 1, everything went well until I noticed my floor bubbling. So I called La Mesa RV Service around June 14. Earliest appointment was July 29. I went there and after 3 hours, my service advisor said Thor Motor Coach would have to authorize repairs, and that my advisor would call me when authorization was given. One month later,and no phone call, I called La Mesa, and my advisor said that no authorization was given. I called Thor and discovered that around 3 weeks ago Thor gave authorization to La Mesa. So whom is lying? When La Mesa finally called me, they said they just got the go ahead to repair my floor. I am NOT going back to La Mesa RV service, and will take my motorhome elsewhere. Excited to be purchasing a class b RV... Called Lamesa RV in West Sacramento this morning and was greeted by a sales person that refused to allow us to drive the RV we are interested in purchasing. Apparently, it was too inconvenient for them to pull an RV out of their showroom to sell to us. Spending $90k and salesperson doesn't want to be inconvenienced. I will not be purchasing an RV from Lamesa and I would not recommend anyone else waste their time. The service costs are outrageous. I had a bid to fix a corner on a Cabnet that was separating and they wanted $800. A fiend 71 years old and fixed it with a fill of wood glue and a clamp. Got A bid for batteries and install for $250 more than I paid for them in Yuba City RV. The extended warranty they sell for $5000 covers very little. Don't buy it. Mike Moore who is our customer service representative is so awesome. When we drop our RV off for repairs, Mike always lets us know if the techs are running behind schedule and asks if we have any trips planned. He gives a call when the RV goes into have the tech review, when the techs are running behind schedule, our issues so we can figure when we will be getting the RV back. Mike always walks us through what was done and the problems identified, what parts are on order and walks us out to the RV to make sure we are satisfied when we pick it up. My wife and I had a great experience purchasing a new Fleetwood motorhome from La Mesa RV in Davis. The purchasing process was easy. We bought at a show at Cal Expo. The salesman was never pushy, and the paperwork went very smoothly. However the real pleasure was working with Tara in service as she made sure that any issues with the RV were resolved by our pick-up date. Her attitude was always friendly, cheerful and professional - so unlike what we often experience at a large business chain. We purchased a brand new RV from them a few years ago. Poor customer service. Sales people don't have real facts. Stated wrong info regarding gas vs diesel engine for the same make/model rv. Glad we know RVs and knew he was just trying to get rid of the over stock of gas models they had on their lot. Only had 1 diesel left in that brand. We purchased the diesel. They didn't even have the common curiosity to dump the black tank. They left the valve open so it spilled out on the street. They didn't even clean it out when we took it back a few days later for new batteries and other work. If you find a deal there make sure you know your RVs inside and out! Have someone else go with you to check everything! Use a different company for Warranty, service and maintenance work. read more

I was waiting to place a review until I picked up my RV after our final walk through. I saw the RV that I wanted after doing some research online and also visiting one of the shows that we went to in Vallejo. I called them and went through the process of purchasing. The negotiation process was smooth and so was everything else. I have had it in a few times to fix minor faults that we found with the RV and Tara the service rep was awesome in helping us. The few minor complaints that I had was that after the purchase the sales guy sort of disappeared on us. Not entirely but had to call a few times or pursue him stronger then prior to signing. Another issue that I had was because this was on the show circuit, it had 2800 miles on it and it had some wear and tear. Many people walked through this and it had its blemishes. While they fixed most all of them, I just didn't feel like it had that fresh off the line look and feel. Also, needing a oil change at 5k and I got it at 2800, you think they would have gave it to me with a full tank of gas and new oil change, not the case. My major complaint was the high pressure tactics that I got from the finance lady on trying to get an extended warranty. When she read the warranty to me and said by law she had to, I said ok I understand, but still don't want it, she had to gall to ask me what did she say, she wanted me to repeat it like it was a test. Well I must admit I almost walked out but glad that I didn't, I am a big boy and can say no, I just didn't think I would have to say no 50 times! Overall I had a good experience with La Mesa RV and glad that I purchased my Class A from them. I just hope going forward I can keep the expectations up. read more

La Mesa RV has horrible customer service. We bought a Winnebago travel trailer new and it was red. We bought the extended warranty for the paint and fabric that states it will cover paint and fabric for ten years. Within one year the red paint on the outside of our trailer turned pink. La Mesa RV says we need to deal with Eco Pro the warranty company and Eco Pro states that they will not cover it because La Mesa RV should not have sold us that type of warranty. In the end la Mesa gave us the money back for the warranty we purchased but it took a ton of my time to fight for what was right. There were numerous calls to lamesa rv where my calls were ignored. read more

La Mesa RV in Davis and Quartzsite, AZ -- in Arizona, they totally mis-represented a Fleetwood coach so we would commit to buying their unit in Arizona and be driven to Davis, CA for pickup. We were told tires had 3k miles on them but when it arrived it needed 4 new tires at $600/ea .... coach inside was a mess, smelled of dog urine cabinetry had some serious wounds! We were told body of coach was in excellent shape, it was not!! Paint was really dull and I found lot's of rust around screws and all..... Manager at La Mesa in Davis basically said take it or leave it......well, we left it!! Fortunately, we didn't do the final signing until rig arrived in Davis, so we walked away and ended up at DeMartini RV in Grass Valley and found the same Fleetwood Discovery coach with half the mileage of the La Mesa unit and inside rig was super super clean!!! And, best part our final cost was exactly the same as the La Mesa junk!! Never again La Mesa!! Cheers All read more

I had a great experience here and my service advisor Tara was wonderful! She was friendly, professional and efficient, and always returned my calls within the hour, sometimes within minutes! My technician Danny also did a great job and got my alternator replaced quickly. Unfortunately, I had an inverter on backorder, so I couldn't get everything fixed on the same day, but that's just a fact of life now post covid and it's not La Mesa's fault. Tara even called me back a day after as a follow up to check on the status of my backordered parts. I would be very happy to go back to La Mesa Davis in the future to get my van serviced. read more

There are much better places. Since we were new motorhome buyers, we thought we'd get a reliable rig and everything would be checked out mechanically. Used, yes, but at least safe. And since La Mesa is such a big company we felt assured that things would be basically fine with our new expensive rig. We were assured ALL of the recalls would be checked out. Don't believe them. But I had to alert them to a steering recall from Spartan... (they never thought to check?) and I pointed out that the Norcold frig needed to be checked for the recall. Yep got the standard answer, "we never send anything out without doing the recalls." The Spartan steering issue did get fixed. But the easiest fix, the frig did not. But heck, they checked it for spider webs! So now we've got a motorhome which has a FIRE HAZARD norcold frig which didn't get the recall fix. We only found out with a written letter from Norcold which said TAKE CARE OF IT NOW! Otherwise, we would have assumed it was fixed. Getting it fixed is now going to probably take a few weeks (they have to inspect it before even ordering the part which takes at least a week to arrive...) AND just as a side note, we asked for the roof to be checked before we took possession. Yep, it's fine. So yep, we get to put a new roof on the rig... I believe they feel the issues just showed up in the 8 months we've had the rig.. Of course, there's no recourse really with any of this other than buyer beware stupidity. Still love the rig...won't be taking it back to them for service EVER. So... I would sadly say.. stay away. read more

Went inside and the only person we see is busy with someone else, so we head outside and go to the toy haulers by ourselves. Checked all ones we saw out... Never did find an associate. So we left. Do not stop and do business with these idiots! They start out nice until they get your money. When we bought our brand new Winnebago travel trailer it had a dented rim. They told us someone hit a curb while at a show but they would replace it if we bought it and they did. I foolishly signed a paper saying I knew it had body damage that was repaired. I also purchased all the extended warranties, tire coverage, protective coating (a total joke) put on with a spray bottle and rag. Once we finally were able to pick up our trailer(3 months later), we had non-stop problems. The slideout tracking was off and it came I at an angle which subsequently dug into our flooring. There was no air conditioning from the brand new extra unit we had installed before we picked it up. Our unit also burned up 3 batteries in two years and continues to do so. The stereo DVD didn't work and still cuts out intermittently, the body leaked horribly in even light rain. They kept telling us that they fixed the leaks but every time it rained, it leaked buckets of water. The decals were also peeling. When we picked up the RV after replacing the decals and several other repairs, we noticed that the same side where the damaged rim was had some places looked for the lack of a better word, "puckered", Tara responded " it looks great considering the damage that was done in the accident". The whole slide had to be repaired to close $8,000 damage. They never disclosed this!! Scumbags! After our second trip in the trailer, we were on our way home from Monterey. Someone flagged us on the freeway to tell us we were dragging something. We got off at the next exit and found that we were dragging the propane attachment fixture for the BBQ and the metal line that runs the length of the trailer to feed it. The metal line was bent all the way back on itself evidently sparking the whole way. Apparently the fixture had come loose and detached from the side of the trailer. We feel very fortunate as this could have been catastrophic or deadly. One of the numerous repairs was on the under carriage. Winnebago's have a solid hard plate to discourage mice and insects from making nests that runs the entire length of the body. Instead of unscrewing the plate to access the slideout, they cut a hole in it and patched it with duct tape. ARE YOU KIDDNG ME??? There have been so many water leaks internally that we fix things ourselves now. We don't even take it there because they usually screw things up, not fix them. We had a brand new piece of electronics "go missing" while being repaired as well. After the lies, dishonestly and not to mention endangering our family, we will not go back EVER. The jerks made was should have been a fun, adventurous and exciting time in our lives a living hell. Don't believe a word of that comes out of their mouths, especially Tara. The absolute worst place to buy an RV and expect to receive service. Our refrigerator on our brand new unit went out on a recent camping trip and we consequently lost ALL our food in the fridge. I call for service and go the most Absolutely rude service manager. This is not our first run in with this service department. The last time we brought it in, they had it for over a week diagnose the problem only to tell us they could not fix it. The Manager Aaron was not helpful and said that it would be booked out at least a month for service because they are "under construction" and have been for the last several months. He was short with me, absolutely NO customer service skills. When I said we have had poor service, he did not seem to care and told me that I could go to another dealer. Hopefully this is the case because my next call is to the manufacturer. This is unacceptable. buyer beware read more

Had a great experience with Reggie in West Sacramento. He was able to real us in as we were a bit all over the place. The financing was quick and easy. We came in about 10:30 and we were out by 1:00 all in, deal done. He was very helpful and we enjoyed our experience. Hopefully delivery of our trailer goes as smooth. Update: the rest did not go smoothly. We had several issues with our coach, we had to cut a camping trip 3 days short. Our tire went bald in patches on a 30 min drive to campsite, our battery got so hot the water was boiling out of battery and smelled horrible. Our awning was coming away from track, our bedroom door does stay on and has screws hanging out, a few cosmetic issues. We definitely were not prepared for that. So after wasting my vacation to sit at home, I also lost 300$ on our camp site. So frustrating. Will update on experience with repairs. Update #2 Cameron the sales Mgr has told service not to fix our tire. You would think they would take care of the customer, but had I read reviews, I'd have seen that's not their thing. We bought our first trailer and feel as though we didn't get the same service that a Hetero couple would have gotten. We were told our sales guy would be there at pickup, told our rig came with a ladder for the bunks, told we could call anytime. None is true, although we can call anytime...but we wait forever just to be given the runaround. The doors fell off the "master" bedroom, the base that the table leg goes in came completely off and did I mention no ladder for the bunk? We have made some repairs ourself, and have even been approached on FB by a sales rep from the brand we bought...but still no calls from La Mesa. We get that they are building a new structure and things are wonky...but we've had to "make due" with a brand new rig that we make monthly payments on. read more

DON'T... I REPEAT DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. I purchased a brand new 5th wheel from these guys and as soon as they had the down payment of $10,000.00 in their greedy little hands, I have not been helped since. I did not buy a small travel trailer or weekend camper. This is my full year-round home and I am paying nearly $150,000.00 thousand dollars. In the 90-days since delivery, the shower has sprung a leak, the rear tv is defective, the front living section with all of the electronics leaks water when it rains and the sensors for the black and grey waste tanks never reads anything except 33% regardless of how full or empty they may be. When I call the service department, no one answers the phone. I have to call sales to get an answer and then be transferred directly to management at which point they immediately try and get off the phone by promising to return the call or emailing with a solution. They don't call back and they offer no assistance in any way. Ask yourself, if I am spending 150k with these guys and can't even get a phone call returned. What are they going to do to YOU??? DO NOT BUY FROM LA MESA RV. DISHONEST, UNETHICAL, POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES. read more
